is there any benefit to set reclock to slave to the sound card clock
I can foresee what James will tell you: "can you read the (debugging only) close to the slave option?" :p

"madVR reports
- creating Direct3D device failed".

That's as far as I can get.

Also, I noticed that when the Zoom Player playlist box is on screen (it was on other monitor), then madVR does not go into exclusive mode. Not a problem, just something for people to note.

I'm running dual monitors with ZP on secondary. Ati 4850 with Cat 10.6.

Quick report...

When I right click for the properties menu when in X-mode, it switches, but it doesn't stay and the menu disappears and it switches back to X-mode. Switching from windowed to X-mode here is not instant but it's not slow either, takes about a second.

Two other strange issues...when I hover the mouse over the FFdshow icons on the tray, I get stuttering and tearing. In addition, when a tool tip pops up, like when I'm browsing a forum and hover over a thread title, the primary screen flashes a few times and the film playback (on the secondary) stutters. Does the same thing when a popup menu is drawn on the primary. All of this is with the film playback on the secondary (23.976Hz) and just working/browsing on the primary (60Hz).

Otherwise, tremendous playback quality, makes me want to go watch a bunch of movies over again. Like getting a new set of tubes, I wanna go back and listen to all my music again...

Edit: madShi, what is "madHCNet.DLL"?

Bug:

When starting a movie in fullscreen mode in MPC-HC (build 2099), i.e. when MPC-HC is set to launch in fullscreen, then madVR's seek bar does not show up when moving the mouse to the bottom. Pausing the movie and resuming fixes this.

The same does not happen when starting a movie in windowed mode and switching to fullscreen.

I can't get any subtitles to display in MPC Home Cinema when using MadVR. I use MPC's internal subtitler for best quality.

madShi, what is "madHCNet.DLL"?
I was wondering the same thing and within this file you can read:
madVR selection...

Please make sure that madVR is running on the target computer and then select it here: ip address|computer|pid|process|gpu|monitor|os

The madVR instance I'm looking for is not listed Select Cancel * find mad* instance...

Please enter the IP address of the computer on which mad* is running: Connect / Cancel / Warning...

There doesn't seem to be any madVR instance running on that computer.

The target computer does not react.

Please check if it's turned on and connected to the LAN.

You may also want to double check your firewall settings.

Does anyone know a way to not let the GPU/memory frequency increase while using madVR? I'm on a Radeon HD 5850 (switching between Full Range and TV Range works fine on the DVI connector btw.), drivers Cat 10.7a and am mostly watching 720p24 content. When using madVR the cycles increase to 725/1000 from the 157/300 when idling. I could set it to 400/500 (rendering time still < 10ms) using the overdrive settings in the driver, but it will stay that high even when just surfing the web. Any solutions?
sneaker_ger,
if you make a CCC profile which enables ATI Overdrive and you look in the "profile name".xml located in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles (for Vista/Win7) or C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\ATI\ACE\Profiles\ (for WinXP) you'll see there are three different frequency\voltage sets - the first one (Want_0) is for 2D, and the other two (Want_1 and Want_2) are for 3D - one for "low load" and the other for "high load". So if you want you can set both 3D to 400/500 and if you are lucky you'll get fixed frequencies. I say "lucky" because in my experience ATI/AMD broke this functionality in Catalyst 10.5/10.6 and I still haven't tried 10.7.

So, your impressions on automatic fullscreen exclusive mode switching?

I've just tried it watching a couple of 720p TV Shows, and I like it! It takes about 1 sec to make the automatic switches, and I had no problems at all switching manually or using context menus.

The only issue I've found until now is the one reported by LloydA: "When starting a movie in fullscreen mode in MPC-HC (build 2099), i.e. when MPC-HC is set to launch in fullscreen, then madVR's seek bar does not show up when moving the mouse to the bottom. Pausing the movie and resuming fixes this."

Really good work, madshi.

Thanks, I will try it out. The problem is that I also do a bit of gaming on this machine and it would be bad if it didn't use the full potential on games. I only want it to not increase frequency that much when watching movies. Maybe I should switch to Nvidia?

/edit:

My values get overwritten to 550/500 on restart. I can't get them any lower (CCC also doesn't allow anything lower). What's even worse: idle frequencies get increased to 400/500 instead of the normal 157/300. I don't get why ATI does this in their drivers.

sneaker_ger,
you can switch profiles very easily - either by using the CCC user interface or shortcuts
for example here is a command line that I use to switch to a profile called madVR
"C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CLI.exe" Start Load profilename="madVR"
you can also use batch (or vbs) files ... or some other kind of automation ... so you can switch to your "madVR" profile when you start your favorite player and then go to the "default" one (you should make another profile with ATI Overdrive disabled) after you close the player.

I'm lost.
Xpsp3 and Zoomplayer and 0.25,defaults.When I go fullscreen the OSD says "Windowed mode" and no madVR seek bar.Is it normal ?

I've just tried madVR v0.25 with Exclusive mode in ZoomPlayer and I'm having the following issues:
1. If I start the movie in fullscreen mode the player hangs up (I have to manually kill it or let it restart itself cause I've configured ZP's watchdog to do so in 30 seconds). If I start the playback in a window and then go to fullscreen everything is fine. The switching between exclusive and windowed is very fast <1s and I really like it, but the automatic switching is not working consistently.
2. Automatic switching is not working when I try to show ZP's popup menu. madVR detects the popup menu and goes to windowed mode but then the menu disappears by itself and madVR goes back to exclusive and the result is no way to access the popup menu.
3. Similar problem is present when I tray to show ZP's seekbar for the first time - quick exclusive->windowed->exclusive switch. The second time the windowed mode sticks and the bar is visible. I think it's important that this happens only when I try to show the seekbar using a keyboard shortcut (the "space" button) and not when using the mouse.
.... I'm not sure if it's related in a way but I noticed that during the mode switch the mouse goes to the center of the screen. Is this normal?

4. Is it also normal that the rendering times in exclusive mode are a few times higher than the ones in windowed mode? for example my rendering times in windowed mode are around 5-6ms and when playing the same content I get ~21ms. Luv,
I don't understand your question?
What do you mean by "see the switch"?

sneaker_ger
4th August 2010, 01:44
sneaker_ger,
you can switch profiles very easily - either by using the CCC user interface or shortcuts
for example here is a command line that I use to switch to a profile called madVR

Thank you. I'll stick with your solution until I find something better. Too bad that ATI's "Overdrive" has these stupid restrictions.

Yeah,Pankow,I'm really confused.Maybe it's a question of vocabulary. What I meant is:does the OSD mention "Exclusive fullscreen" like it mentions "Windowed mode"? Because I just can't see any visible change concerning this windowed-fullscreen mode. What king of changes am I suppose to observe ? I click on a video file ,ZP opens in windowed mode then I push the little cross top right and I'm in fullscreen.Perfect.So what am I missing ?

Madshi, the automatic fullscreen exclusive mode switching is perfect so far. (single monitor)

Also, I've got to say that madVR's seekbar looks really nice and polished. Everything looking good so far for me.

I can't get any subtitles to display in MPC Home Cinema when using MadVR. I use MPC's internal subtitler for best quality.

As reported many times before, you're going to have to use DirectVobSub.

IIRC, madshi still doesn't know exactly how and what the subtitles/OSD pin is supposed to connect.

ok, I've proposed PotPlayer's coder to do the following: "add an option to hide PotPlayer's GUI completely when using madVR in fullscreen mode, so everything would work as it currently does in windowed mode, but in FS mode you would completely hide PotPlayer's GUI"

I think that'd be the most convenient solution?

he also asked me to ask you the following:
Please ask madVR's author.
Why madVR not support callback?
So madVR does not support subtitle.
But haaliVR work...

Thanks, I will try MPC-HC and see if I can isolate the problem to ZP, or whether it's due to something else (graphics drivers, dual monitors (in my system, not in general), etc).

Automatic exclusive mode is super awesome, at least on single setup. On my setup it takes only a blink of an eye to change. I'd say it's about 200-300ms also. Seekbar looks good too (*wink* at MPC-HC GUI thread) :) I also second the suggestion to add time. My suggestion would be a balloon with elapsed/total time at the seeker, or elapsed time on the left and time left on the right. But if you think that's too complicated, any simple one will do.

One thing I want to mention. I use foobar2000 with On-screen display plugin (link (http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Foobar2000:Components_0.9/foo_osd)). When it try to show the text, madVR also get out of exclusive mode to let it show. Is this also an intended behavior? I know that nobody would listen to music while watching video. I just want to mention it to see if this is a bug or not since foobar is outside of the player.

(1) ATi 5770
(2) Windows Server 2008 R2
(3) Aero on
(4) 2560x1600/60Hz
(5) Single monitor on DisplayPort

I'll report on dual monitors later. Thanks for your awesome work madshi.

Can you make a screenshot of that "weird progress bar"? Which GUI did you expect instead? Which media player are you using? Can you also make a screenshot of the yellow-green line at the bottom? Which video codec does that happen with (h264, VC-1, MPEG2, ...) and which decoder are you using for that video codec?
This:

Also the behavior is quite random, sometimes I swith to fullscreen and this shows up instead of expected controls on first move of the mouse, and sometimes it works normally several times.
When this weird progress bar appears, I also can't switch to any other application - it's like Task Managed set to always on top or something...

opening the MPC-HC context menu in full screen mode displays a ghost image for a short time before the context menu is displayed. The ghost image seems to be a "stored" image from the last time the context menu was opened.
Yeah, I've also seen that. Don't know exactly where it's coming from. Probably Windows itself has cached an older image and reuses it if madVR isn't drawing the new frame fast enough.

A little update for the PC-TV level problems: It is broken with HDMI in the 1080p24 HDTV display mode. The pixel format settings work well in the 1200p60 mode but I can't get PC Levels in 1080p24 mode. The 1080p24 mode worked well with DisplayPort connection.
Hmmmm... That's interesting. Maybe we'll need to do custom resolutions? Maybe that will fix the problem...

It is not a problem, but: Can you fit this slider to the edge of the screen instead of the edge of the video frame?
Not right now. It would require one more rendering step, which would cost performance. I might have to do that in a future version, anyway. In that case I'll move the slider down.

"madVR reports
- creating Direct3D device failed".

That's as far as I can get.
Did you start ZoomPlayer on primary or secondary monitor? Did you load the movie file while ZoomPlayer was running on primary or secondary monitor? As I said before, madVR currently doesn't properly switch between different monitors, if you move the media player to different monitor *after* the video file was loaded.

Also, I noticed that when the Zoom Player playlist box is on screen (it was on other monitor), then madVR does not go into exclusive mode. Not a problem, just something for people to note.
What does the madVR OSD say about that? It usually shows you the reason why it doesn't switch to exclusive mode.

I'm running dual monitors with ZP on secondary. Ati 4850 with Cat 10.6.
Which OS?

When I right click for the properties menu when in X-mode, it switches, but it doesn't stay and the menu disappears and it switches back to X-mode.
Weird, doesn't happen for me.

If you turn on the madVR OSD, do you see it switching between windowed <-> fullscreen mode, if you get these effects?

madShi, what is "madHCNet.DLL"?
I was wondering the same thing and within this file you can read
Aaaargh, you guys are too clever... :p The purpose of madHcNet.dll is a secret at this point in time.

When starting a movie in fullscreen mode in MPC-HC (build 2099), i.e. when MPC-HC is set to launch in fullscreen, then madVR's seek bar does not show up when moving the mouse to the bottom. Pausing the movie and resuming fixes this.
Ok, thanks, will look into that.

Xpsp3 and Zoomplayer and 0.25,defaults.When I go fullscreen the OSD says "Windowed mode" and no madVR seek bar.Is it normal ?
No, it's not normal. It means that the playback window doesn't seem to cover the whole screen. Is that the case?

1. If I start the movie in fullscreen mode the player hangs up (I have to manually kill it or let it restart itself cause I've configured ZP's watchdog to do so in 30 seconds). If I start the playback in a window and then go to fullscreen everything is fine.
Is this really v0.25? I'm asking because v0.24 had this issue and it was supposed to be fixed in v0.25. The fix was also confirmed by at least 2 people. With MPC HC, though.

The switching between exclusive and windowed is very fast <1s and I really like it, but the automatic switching is not working consistently.
In what way is it inconsistent?

2. Automatic switching is not working when I try to show ZP's popup menu. madVR detects the popup menu and goes to windowed mode but then the menu disappears by itself and madVR goes back to exclusive and the result is no way to access the popup menu.
Does not happen for me. Does it only happen on secondary screen or also on primary?

Ok, will have a look at that.

.... I'm not sure if it's related in a way but I noticed that during the mode switch the mouse goes to the center of the screen. Is this normal?
Don't know, madVR is not moving the mouse.

4. Is it also normal that the rendering times in exclusive mode are a few times higher than the ones in windowed mode? for example my rendering times in windowed mode are around 5-6ms and when playing the same content I get ~21ms.
That's weird. Haven't actually looked at rendering times myself yet.

ok, I've proposed PotPlayer's coder to do the following: "add an option to hide PotPlayer's GUI completely when using madVR in fullscreen mode, so everything would work as it currently does in windowed mode, but in FS mode you would completely hide PotPlayer's GUI"
One problem for PotPlayer might be to detect when madVR is in fullscreen exclusive mode and when not. If the PotPlayer coder wants to have an interface to ask madVR whether it's in fullscreen exclusive mode or not, I can add that. Also you can tell the PotPlayer coder to look into the devInfo.txt file. There's a new interface described there he can use to make madVR show simple text messages on screen. Don't know if he wants to use that.

he also asked me to ask you the following:
Why madVR not support callback?
So madVR does not support subtitle.
But haaliVR work...
I've not worked on subtitles yet. That's on my to do list for a future version.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but do the timing models still matter in exclusive mode?
Good question. No, they don't. Timing model and number of backbuffers is fixed in exclusive mode. Flush settings still show effect, so do the 2 options "use managed ... (XP only)" and "upload frames in render thread". Maybe flush settings will lose their meaning in exclusive mode, when I implement the final exclusive mode rendering path.

Automatic exclusive mode is super awesome, at least on single setup. On my setup it takes only a blink of an eye to change. I'd say it's about 200-300ms also. Seekbar looks good too (*wink* at MPC-HC GUI thread) :)
Glad to hear you like it!

One thing I want to mention. I use foobar2000 with On-screen display plugin (link (http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Foobar2000:Components_0.9/foo_osd)). I just want to mention it to see if this is a bug or not since foobar is outside of the player.
madVR detects if *any* other window is covering the playback window. If so, it switches back to windowed mode to allow the other window to be visible. So this is expected behaviour.

This:

Also the behavior is quite random, sometimes I swith to fullscreen and this shows up instead of expected controls on first move of the mouse, and sometimes it works normally several times.
When this weird progress bar appears, I also can't switch to any other application - it's like Task Managed set to always on top or something...
This forum is very slow in accepting forum attachments. If you want a quick reply, you'll have to upload the screenshot to some photo sharing site.

Do you mean we have to use another program? It's annoying already to screw around FFDShow and MPC to play stuff.
For now DirectVobSub is the only way to get subtitles with madVR.

Nice try. No, I will not tell you which purpose madHcNet.dll has. You can block it if you want, no harm done (for now). It doesn't contact the internet, though, just the LAN.

top: how it shoud be
bottom: what usually appears instead of controls
The "top" seek bar is the graphical seek bar of MPC HC. This seek bar can technically not be shown in fullscreen exclusive mode. Because of that madVR shows its own seek bar, which is the "bottom" seek bar your screenshot shows. If you don't like madVR's seek bar, you can disable it in the madVR settings dialog. In that case you will get the MPC HC seek bar back. However, if you do that, madVR will have to switch between windowed and fullscreen exclusive mode, everytime the MPC HC seek bar is shown/hidden.

I only just noticed that apparently even the cursor has to disappear for modes to switch.
No, the cursor doesn't hurt. The cursor only stops madVR from going to exclusive mode if it's in the MPC HC graphical seek bar and thus stops the MPC HC graphical seek bar from hiding.

Ok, let me get this out first. It's smooooooooooooooooooth. Damn I got a stupid smile on my face. This is on the "problematic" setup:
(1) ATi 5770
(2) Windows Server 2008 R2
(3) Aero on
(4) 2560x1600/60Hz + 1920x1080/24p
(5) Dual monitor setup. 1st on DVI, 2nd on HDMI

Now onto the non-good news. The automatic switching does not recognize (allow?) context menu to appear on the second monitor. Sometime MPC-HC won't even recognize the left click that should pause the video. The later one is random though. Instead, it seems to mind a lot of what I'm doing on the primary monitor. Clicking on start button or open context menu somewhere on primary monitor deativate/reativate exclusive mode. It always occur as a pair since when exclusive mode was deactivated, the start menu/context menu will disappear, then exclusive mode is activated again.

FYI: Aero flip(alt-tab) and 3D flip (win+tab) deactivate exclusive mode, but I think that is expected. Aero peak, however, doesn't. I think nothing wrong with this. Really just FYI.

Exclusive mode seem to play nice with MPC-HC fullscreen autochange on my setup. Fullscreen exclusive will NOT activate the autochange, but neither does EVRCP/Sync. I created a ticket about this on MPC-HC tracker. The only to activate the autochange is to use the "full" fullscreen command (default: alt+enter)

Now I'm a happy panda. When subtitile pin finally get implement, I'll be a super happy panda :)

Another issue:

Then I click right button: the rate is switched to 59 and the mode is FS Excl. Rendering time is 11 ms.
I click right button second time: the rate is 59 and the mode is FS Wind. Rendering time is 7 ms.

By the way the monitor (Pio 5090) reports that the input is 30bit. So AMD driver (10.7, Vista) upsamples RGB24 to RGB30?

I start ZP directly on the secondary monitor, in fullscreen. No moving of windows from monitor to monitor (I'm not that dumb!).

When the ZP playlist editor is on the primary monitor (main ZP window fullscreen on secondary), it says:

Fullscreen Windowed Mode
Covered by orca.exe etc (my browser)
Covered by window [TPlaylistForm.UnicodeClass] "Playlist Editor"
Movie 23.blah blah

OS is W7 x64.

With the Playlist Editor off, going fullscreen gives me the creating Direct3d device failed error. Switching from this state to a window gives me a "resetting Direct3D device failed (8876086c)" error.

If you need a log file, let me know.

FWIW, the final solution will be to let madVR handle the refresh rates, instead of using the MPC HC autochanger.

The desktop rate is set to 59.94.
Launching 1080p23 file in fullscreen, the rate is switched to 23 ('use autochange' is ON) and the mode is FS Excl. Rendering time is very high: 30 ms.

I click right button second time: the rate is 59 and the mode is FS Wind. Rendering time is 7 ms.
That's all quite weird. Might have to do with Vista not reporting refresh rates correctly, and the combination with the MPC HC autochanger etc...

By the way the monitor (Pio 5090) reports that the input is 30bit. So AMD driver (10.7, Vista) upsamples RGB24 to RGB30?
I've no idea.

I start ZP directly on the secondary monitor, in fullscreen.
Can you try starting it in windowed mode? Does that work around some of the problems? I've just tested and starting ZP in fullscreen mode makes big problems here. Don't know why exactly right now...

Now onto the non-good news. The automatic switching does not recognize (allow?) context menu to appear on the second monitor.
When the ZP playlist editor is on the primary monitor (main ZP window fullscreen on secondary), it says:

Fullscreen Windowed Mode
Covered by orca.exe etc (my browser)
Covered by window [TPlaylistForm.UnicodeClass] "Playlist Editor"
Movie 23.blah blah
I think that madVR's detection of when it should switch between windowed <-> exclusive mode is broken when playing on secondary monitor right now. I think madVR considers windows on primary monitor to cover madVR, instead of windows on secondary monitor, which makes no sense. Will fix that in the next build (probably not before next weekend).

With the Playlist Editor off, going fullscreen gives me the creating Direct3d device failed error. Switching from this state to a window gives me a "resetting Direct3D device failed (8876086c)" error.
Can you please try on the primary monitor, to check if it works there? Also please (as said above) try to start ZP in windowed mode and then switch to fullscreen. Of course these are not things you're supposed to have to do with the "final" madVR version, but the test results might be helpful.

Ok madshi, I've been testing like crazy.

I am getting inconsistent results sometimes, but here it is overall. I have the playlist editor turned off - that's a minor issue I think.

Single Monitor (85hz...evil)

ZP - will not go into exclusive mode. It just doesn't. No info on the OSD as to why. Starting fullscreen or windowed->change to fullscreen, same result - always in windowed mode. Playback is good - as smooth as can be expected for 85hz.

MPC-HC - works ok. Switches into exclusive as needed. Playback is a total mess though, windowed is usually ok, but sometimes a stuttery mess. Exclusive usually a stuttery mess. I have trouble on my system playing mismatched rates.

Dual monitors, playing on primary (85hz still)

ZP - still will not go into exclusive mode. Same as above.

MPC-HC - same as above.

Dual monitors, playing on secondary (96hz interlaced)

ZP - Windowed playback is fine. Fullscreen gives Direct 3D errors, or a player lockup followed by the ZP watchdog restart.

MPC-HC - Windowed playback is fine. Fullscreen gives Direct 3D errors.

Dual monitors, swapped primary, playing on primary (96hz interlaced)

ZP - Windowed playback is fine. Fullscreen gives Direct 3D errors, or a player lockup followed by the ZP watchdog restart.

MPC-HC - Windowed playback is fine. Fullscreen gives Direct 3D errors.

Dual monitors, swapped primary, playing on primary (60hz progressive)

ZP - Windowed playback is fine. Fullscreen does not go into fullscreen.

MPC-HC - Windowed playback is fine. Fullscreen works fine too.

I think there are two problems. One is related to ZP and it's reluctance to go into fullscreen. This is strange, as it does attempt to go into fullscreen when playing on the secondary (when interlaced). All other times it stays in windowed mode, without reporting an issue (unlike with the playlist editor problem).

The other is the interlaced res. I think this is what causes the Direct 3D errors. This seems to be 100% reproducible. About the only thing that is 100% reproducible...

I'll add more information to the OSD.

Yes, I also think so. madVR has to tell Direct3D which refresh rate to use when switching into fullscreen exclusive mode. There's no way to tell it "just keep the windowed refresh rate". And it seems that your 96Hz interlaced setup is reported by the OS to madVR incorrectly in some way. I'll add more information to the OSD about this, too.

85hz is just the desktop res for the primary monitor - a crt. Honestly I couldn't care less about stuttery mess at this refresh rate. But I will check those settings.

The interlaced res refresh rate is set by Powerstrip. Windows thinks it is running 1080i 60hz (what you get when you pick 30i as the refresh rate in windows display settings or CCC).

Then I click right button: the rate is switched to 59 and the mode is FS Excl. Rendering time is 11 ms.
I click right button second time: the rate is 59 and the mode is FS Wind. Rendering time is 7 ms.

That's all quite weird. Might have to do with Vista not reporting refresh rates correctly, and the combination with the MPC HC autochanger etc...

Yes, if I switch MPC autochanger OFF, no issue.
MadShi, could you add to MadVr internal refresh rate autochanger?

Do you mean we have to use another program? It's annoying already to screw around FFDShow and MPC to play stuff.

My bad. Actually, if you want, you can use ffdshow video decoder's subtitle renderer.

One step at a time, mate, one step at a time... :)

As I said earlier:

"FWIW, the final solution will be to let madVR handle the refresh rates, instead of using the MPC HC autochanger."

My experience with fullscreen exclusive was great! The transition is very smooth and quick. I only notice it when going from windowed ->exclusive, because the image flickers a little, but the other way it's completely unnoticeable. Furthermore, it completely respected my resolution timings, and that's great because I need them. This was testing with my GF8600 in XP x64 SP2.

Next I will test with W7 x64 to see if it finally solves all the issues madVR still had when I was using it...

Once again, great work! :thanks:

Can you please report how fast fullscreen exclusive mode <-> windowed mode switching is for you? Which OS are you using?

GPU: ATI 5650
Catalyst: 10.7
OS: Windows 7 32bit
Player: MPC-HC 1.3.2121.0
madVR setting: Default, but using 3dlut and Lanczos8 for Luma up/downscaling

The switching takes about half a second, though I'm sure it's actually faster than that :P Half a second observation comes from the momentary pause in-between switches.

There is one thing that caught my eye, during playback when you switch between fullscreen-windowed mode, the momentary pause doesn't always show the frame of that instant, it shows either the frame of the last manual (space-bar, left click etc.) pause or the frame of the last momentary pause when switching modes, whichever comes the last. To observe it you have to wait a few second after your last switch, it doesn't happen when you spam alt+enter :P

And I think your seekbar is actually better than MPC-HC's, there is no need for all those buttons when you know the shortcuts ^^

If you turn on the madVR OSD, do you see it switching between windowed <-> fullscreen mode, if you get these effects?

I think madVR considers windows on primary monitor to cover madVR, instead of windows on secondary monitor, which makes no sense. Will fix that in the next build (probably not before next weekend).

Yes, this appears to be the issue. I tested with my primary and it works as expected.

First of all, fullscreen exlusive mode works like a charm :thanks:. Switching is pretty much instant.
Is it also normal that the rendering times in exclusive mode are a few times higher than the ones in windowed mode? for example my rendering times in windowed mode are around 5-6ms and when playing the same content I get ~21ms. (and I've checked with GPU-Z that the Core/Mem frequencies of my ATI 5750 stayed the same during the exclusive<->windowed mode switch)

That's weird. Haven't actually looked at rendering times myself yet.

I also noticed the rendering time issue. In fullscreen windowed mode I usually have an average rendering time of 5ms with 1080p video on 1080p display resoultion.
When switching to exclusive mode it goes up to about 40ms, which is almost the movie frame intervall.
Playback in exclusive mode was still absoultely smooth, though.
I also noticed that even if I set everything to bilinear, rendering times are not that much shorter compared to lanczos, for example.
Also the rendering and upload queue don't fill up beyond 4-5/8 in exclusive mode whereas it was always full in fullscreen windowed mode.
