Thank you, sir. For some reason I thought I was replying to the driver thread. In there it's claimed they're passing correct metadata and a few other awesome fixes for us. This could be our new benchmark driver finally.
I replied there too, but as we mentioned it here and as it's on topic, I'm happy to report that 430.39 seems to fix the HDFR passthrough bug and seems to be able to switch to HDR in 8bits as well.
I've only checked with my LG 4K monitor, I'll do more tests tonight with the JVC and I'll report back if there is anything worthy of interest.

Yea, why would the also remove the driver for the 3D Blu-ray playback. Didn't really care about 3D gaming but 3D movies I still like to watch once in a while.
Any solution for this? Can someone maybe rip the latest driver for the 3D Blu-ray support so we can install it as a stand alone?

So no solution? We are stuck with old drivers forever if we want to ever watch a 3D movie again? Seriously WTH NVIDIA.
There must be a way to override this.

You should give feedback to NVIDIA, maybe its not entirely intentional that 3D movie playback is broken without the 3D Vision components - since 3D Vision is what they really wanted to discontinue, not HDMI 3D.
Pro-tip to make your feedback get actually read: Stay classy and professional. :)

Hey guys, I need a bit of assistance to this puzzle. Now i've been using VLC3.0.x player for HDR playback (sony XF90 is the display) and it is very comparable but i was suggested by several people that madVR is more precise for HDR playback.
Now I have freshly installed MPC and potplayer just for madVR and for some reason on both players when i select madVR renderer and when i compare it with the VLC, players with madVR have this very feint green tint color to it. Do i have to select something on the madVR to get the best color reproduction that's identical to the blu ray players?
So far VLC had the most colorful and precise reproduction to the players with madVR. I'm asking because surely i'm using madVR wrong as it has been suggested by everyone so far that madVR is the closest to the real thing.
All the movies are blu ray rips in a remux and they aren't altered and compressed versions but uncompressed both video and audio.
Hey guys! Managed to get some time to fiddle around but for some apparent reason the MPC is freezing when i'm playing the video in fullscreen on my TV with madVR. Non full screen keeps playing without freezing. Image will just freeze and i can't do anything else with the MPC but restart it and in doing so it crashes beforehand. It is MPC-HC.1.7.13. Version. The latest one as well as madVR is the latest.
IS there maybe something I have to turn on? Why is it freezing with HDR display? While on my PC monitor it is playing with madVR as output renderer just fine.

If you can notice, i did not post the same question but i just QUOTED the question because it is 3 or 4 pages jump so that people who answered me know who the heck i am so that they don't have to dig and look to know what i asked exactly as i didn't have time to fiddle at that time.
Now i have time to fiddle and i'm having difficulties making MPC HC work with madVR and lav filters have been added as well as preferred. I want to take those screenshots but as you can see i am having difficulties in doing so with madVR.

I think at this point it's pointless to even complain to nVidia. We will need to cook something of our own to bring back 3D Blu-ray support that overrides the driver check and doesn't give the driver mismatch error.
After extracting the latest working 3D Vision installer it looks like the check is being done by the installer when the "NvStWiz.exe" is initiated.
You can see the driver is being installed anyway but it just cant add the 3D Vision options in the latest Control Panel version when the "NvStWiz.exe" is being run.
That stupid Control Panel wizard is not even needed, somehow there must be a way to enable it so it would kick in anyway.
madVR had a registry file that did just that, but in this case it doesn't work. Still something is missing for the driver to actually kick in and switch the HDMI mode to 3D.

while i can totally understand why they stop supporting 3d i have no real understand why as far as i can see they disable is completely.

worse case scenario you could rip to SBS and not use MVC 3D, not ideal as you'll get resolution loss but better than nothing, that is if you are a gamer and need to be on latest drivers, if not just stay on an old version, obviously.

No need to reencode, you can play MCV 3D in SBS/OU.
And if you have a 2160p TV, there shouldn't be any resolution loss either.

New Nvidia Drivers. Changes and Fixed Issues in Version 430.39:
Fixed Issues in this Release
[madVR][HDR]: MadVR is not rendering videos in HDR mode using MPC player.
[200505657]
[Surround][G-SYNC][Pascal GPU]: G-SYNC does not engage when using Surround
resolution. [200505986]
Random desktop flicker occurs on some multi-display PCs [2453059]
Memory leaks occur when launching games. [2551904]
Can anyone verify if this fixes the Turing bug with stuttery playback?
hotripper
24th April 2019, 21:55
@hotripper
just stick to power saving. it not changing the power that's send over HDMI and it does other more complicated things... and it will not lower your general performance it just trys to waste less power.
and you should leave pre rendered frames to application control madVR by default uses 3 or 8 by default depending on the rendering surface and we still can't see your image.
Cant do that, Power saver eventually lags very bad. And using 1 shader max results in having to set -300ms delay.
But I think I have found the culprit. So when using madvr with mpc-hc I set LAV to D3D11 native. But I noticed when I use EVR LAV settings are different.
So does anyone know if Madvr and EVR carry their own unique settings for LAV?
And as a side note why do I not receive email notifications from my subscribed threads on this forum? I set all to "instant"
huhn
24th April 2019, 23:07
EVR doesn't support d3d11 native so it will use a fall back.
and you are using more shader then you believe far more.
AV shouldn't go async audio is the master clock so madVR has to adapt.

I just dont know what is wrong with the 2070, tried two different cards same result. Put the 970 back in and no stuttering no matter which settings I use.
I change something in settings and it works, then doesnt. Then it will just work on its own. Totally random.
Frustrated.

Yea, in the same boat. Maybe someone can look in to the "NvStWiz.exe" compatibility issue with future drivers. The installation can be extracted from previous driver but does a version check and throws an error at you.
You can find the latest 3DVision drivers in this location:
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2\Display.3DVision.{......................................}
Inside that folder there is "3DVision.exe" file that you can right click and extract with WinRAR.
After extracting you will find the all the 3DVision installation files.

My E6 supports both in UHD, but I'm really not into 3D so I haven't looked if any others do, I just assumed since it's such a simple feature when the TV already supports 3D. If it's a rare feature, then it's obviously no solution for most people.

the E6 was the last gen which suopported 3D on the OLED side, samsung gave up on 3D LED a year before that, I have an EF950 OLED which also supports 3D in UHD mode, you only get 2k though but as all 3D is 1080p thats no issue.
I can even get 3D in HDR mode, but obviously there are no 3D / HDR movies anyway but it works... :)

Any way of getting these resolutions rejected by the driver to have a chance? Or does anyone know of an edit I can make to the custom res that's likely to give me what I want? Cheers.
