What driver and what GPU did you use before issue happend? Did you update it?
Do the glitches get counted by madVR or are these only visual.

No i have the same graphic card Did not uptdate driver, the glitches get counted and i can clearly see the stuttering, i try to run madvr with minimum setting without any upscale or downscale but same, i try to disable my intégrated GPU in bios settings but same, try to put the movie on main ssd but same, but i seen the composition rate is falling down to 23hz when starting to stuttering so my problem is with composition rate but why....?

Is there a setting in Intel/NVIDIA control panel that controls which GPU gets used for full screen 3d applications?
My limited understanding of those dual GPU setups is that when you're at the desktop it uses Intel GPU and for full screen 3D applications like games or directx media player it switches to the nvidia GPU. It sounds like when you go full screen it's switching to NVidia GPU and that's when the problem starts cause you said in windowed mode it's okay.
Also try final nonbeta madvr if you are using beta

Yes, I already use the NVIDIA GPU for MPC, and I've attempted to disable the Intel iGPU in the BIOS settings, but the problem persists. Thus, I have only one active GPU (Intel), and the HDMI is connected directly to the NVIDIA. In windowed mode, it's fine, but the stuttering always occurs in fullscreen (exclusive overlay mode) on the HDMI output, sometimes causing the composition rate to drop to 23Hz. I've tried both beta and non-beta versions of madVR, but the issue remains. Thanks.

There is this regkey that controls compositor frame rate on windows 7, not sure if its still valid on windows 11
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Schedule]
"FrameRateMin"=dword:0000003c
(3c = 60fps, max appears to be c8 = 200fps)
On my win7 machines I had to create the key as they don't normally exist, but it definitely had an effect on my window scrolling occasionally going lowfps and stuttery

I found a temporary solution for those encountering the issue: in madVR, it is necessary to disable “desktop composition” in the general rendering settings. I suspect this is a new bug that appeared with Windows 11 24H2. However, I now encounter another problem: when I switch the Nvidia card to 10-bit mode in SDR, the screen turns completely magenta.

that's odd because you can not disable the DWM anymore with win 8 and newer.
this should btw result in tearing if FSE isn't used.

supposedly both. no one cares about intel at the moment there are pretty much no test and no battlemage yet.
my best guess both are now using the same driver type.

there is a major issue i remember now with that platform. it is PCIe 2(the last intel platform using that spec). and the 4060 or with other words all "low end" GPU have 4-8 lanes not 16 that means you have a bandwidth comparable with PCIe 1 i highly doubt anything will work with that system if no hardware decoder is used.

I have the exact same setup i7-2600K CPU (! Intel® HD Graphics 3000 ! Not in use !), 16 GB RAM, for streaming movies to TV via HDMI.
Had CPU overclocked to 4430MHz with an GPU Nvidia 960 GTX Ti 4GB, that setup worked just fine for 1080p but poorly with newer higher definition movies like 2160p (SDR) and not at all with HDR material.
Got an GPU Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB. Plugged it in and the PC refused to start... it took a while before I realized the CPU was the bottleneck.
Clocked down to 3813 MHz and all OK.
But... higher definition content weighs down the CPU heavily, sometimes so badly that video stutters and becomes unwatchable.
GPU uses ~ 35-50%. But no crashes, however, some HDR material can still be watched, I don't understand why some work and others don't, can only guess that the encoding of the movies plays a role?
Using madVR with various mediaplayers depending on material.

try d3d11 native decode.
disable mpeg2 and H264 so it will use software and can deint.
you may need win 11 to get AV1 hardware decode.
this may work except for UHD H264.

It's been a while since I changed anything in the LAV configurations, new settings made a big difference.
Just tested some videos and from going from CPU load ~80-90% and GPU load ~35% to new settings CPU ~30% and GPU ~60%.
And even some video that with old settings stutters now floated on just fine! Perfect!

I've started using the driver restart utility that comes with CRU when I want to watch something, seems to help. If I don't then glitches just keep ticking in madvr, this usually happens when I've left the computer on for a while or it's been woken up from sleep.

Hello, problem with stuttering during video playback with the Nvidia GPU (glitches), the problem appeared suddenly regardless of the playback software, complete reinstallation of the machine and drivers with the same problem, I also tested the GPU memory without issue. The stuttering does not appear immediately but after a few moments only in full screen, it is enough to switch the video to windowed mode and it disappears, then reappears when I switch back to full screen. I specify that even leaving the default settings in madVR does not change anything, it occurs at all frequencies with Vsync activated in the Nvidia settings.

Sounds like exactly the same problem I was having after upgrading to Win 24H2. The solution was to disable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling. Since then I have watched several movies with no noticeable stutters and zero random glitches being collected in madVR OSD.

Thanks but already tried it is the same by disabling the vSync in the Nvidia it works perfectly but obviously the movie is not watchable because the screen is all rip, I lean rather for a problem with the vSync now

If you're using a dual GPU then I'm guessing it's a laptop or some brand name pre-built computer by Dell or something. I would strongly recommend getting out of those ecosystems and doing your own build with proper desktop form factor parts

Yes, you're correct. The laptop is smaller, and my projector is in the main room. I don't want to place a desk near the projector. Besides, it's not an issue with the laptop but rather with Windows 11.

Hi, regarding my workaround, it’s the “Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling” setting that needs to be disabled in the Windows graphics settings, and you must restart after disabling it, otherwise it won’t work. The “composition rate” drops to 23Hz after 10-15 minutes, but no more stuttering or glitches. (thk to flossy_cake)
For your information, when I disable VSync, it works perfectly (well, with the screen completely torn, of course). So now, I’m leaning more towards a problem with VSync. I enabled triple buffering to see if it would help, but it doesn’t.
I still have a minor issue where the screen suddenly goes black, switches to windowed mode, and then comes back or not, like an auto-detection of the screen. You can see it in the “devices” of madVR, for example, I have more than 40 “identification” lines for my projector. (I don’t remember how to disable auto-detection of monitors in Windows).

Yes, MPC-HC always has Vsync ON in NVCPL. Been using it like that for years with no issues.
HAGS also was ON for the whole 2 years since switching to Win 11, but with 24H2 upgrade something has changed under the hood and HAGS became a problem.
These are just my observations, pity this doesn't fully solve your problem.

Here is the real solution: the “composition rate” remains perfectly stable, and the fans are much quieter, at the cost of a slightly increased rendering time on this scene by 2 to 3 ms. follow these steps:
On the “.exe” file of your playback software, right-click > Properties > Compatibility > check “Disable fullscreen optimizations”.

2600k should be able to bruteforce 4K HDR at 5ghz. But very few gold chips out there. Though sandybridge might be at least partitially stable at 5ghz because it can take up to 1.5v-1.6v with water cooling.
Obviously GPU decode is way more efficient and use 1/50th of the electricity as you've discovered. Setting to dx11 uses the hardware acclerated decode blocks.

In my case it was very similar with MPC-VR during some brief comparison. After several minutes in, the OSD's frame time graph on the bottom jumps from stable line at around 25% level to ~75% and looks square shaped kinda like ECG. Of course this resulted in heavy stuttering very much like with madVR.

I can't quite get what the interplay is between Windows HDR, Windows HDR Calibration tool, and madVR HDR settings. Does the profile generated by Windows HDR Calibration affect what madVR would pass to the display, and if so, should I generate such a profile or would it interfere with what the renderer is doing?

Actually scratch that, I believe you can only either:
1. Disable Feature+Quality updates for a period of 365 days while still receiving Security updates, or:
2. Permanently disable all updates (Security+Feature+Quality).
I am not aware of a way to permanently disable only Feature+Quality
But, I don't really care, I'll just disable all updates and use virustotal.com for any third party executables

It doesn't. But currently I cannot get PotPlayer+madVR to play HDR at all (very dark and dull colors), whereas the default Media Player and VLC handle them properly.

Oh good, You don't have to deal with windows.
Set your pc resolution to 4k 120hz 444rgb, 10bit or 8bit, depending on whether you want to mess with DSC.
Set your TV to pc mode.
Set madvr HDR setting to passthrough, send hdr metadata to tv.
And you're good to go.
Your TV will handle all the tone mapping, that's the best way for OLED, especially LG Woled, because it's got a very limited color space for HDR highlights, so it uses special secret sauce trickeries to make highlights look good.

I have encountered practically no stuttering during months of use.I had micro stuttering on d3d11 with mpc-vr, not sure if that's still the case but I changed to d3d9 and it's fine. I'm finding I don't really need so the knobs, dials and ngu of madvr anymore so after some twelve odd years of it I switched away.
P.S. For some reason, madVR keeps spawning new "Identifications" for my current displays.
The beta fixes this. Madshi really needs to release a new non beta version, but nah.

Trying to playback 3D. I have glasses that do 3840x1080.
Read a few guides, more confused than ever.
Installed Lav with the 3D tick box, But if I open the bluray iso from mpchc, it just outputs 2D no SBS.
What other settings are required? I'm trying to get mpchc to go from iso > madvr > 3840x1080 sbs.
Edit. never mind, everything works in MPCBE. :D

Leave the display in SDR.
After you open an HDR movie, it should kick into AMD HDR.
Try an earlier version of madvr. You don't need anything later than the 113, because you're not tonemapping.

There is way, you disable all updates, and then for the security updates you can download the security-updates-only file from MS's website.

Leave the display in SDR.
After you open an HDR movie, it should kick into AMD HDR.
When I do this, the colors are not dull anymore, however, the TV does not detect HDR, so I guess it just got tone mapped.
What I also noticed in the playback information is this: when I have HDR off in Windows Display Settings, I get exclusive, whereas with HDR on in Windows, I get fullscreen windowed mode (and it says 8 bit in both cases). Maybe the root of the problem is here.

It interferes with madvr's switching method to hdr, so you need to have the desktop in sdr for it to work. Otherwise you get a messed up picture, as you have noticed.

the device page setting are ignored in the version you are using on is used for all and it will not stop creating more.
AMD HDR API is utter trash it needs 10 bit for what ever reason.
try to set the dell to 10 bit or use a version that may actually work on win 10 and 11.

Just got my Air2s glasses, damn guys. We gotta convince everyone to buy these to make 3D movies come back.
It's so much better than 3D TVs, no stereo cross talk, no slow lcd frame blur, no shutter blur. It even handles HDR pretty well w/ madvr's help tonemapping. I believe it when they say 1000nits, it actually looks brighter than 1000 (in the dark). It's probably only almost ~800 if they did the math right.
You can't get an oled TV at $200-500 to do the same thing. LCD yes, but that's not a proper comprison (no 3D also).
The only drawback is it's a bit small. as big as a 65 inch basically in real world comparison. Now you wouldn't say a 65" is small, but that's only because you can move the couch up to one when the image looks too small, you can't make it any closer in the glasses, so I will say it's not big enough.
Color gamut is limited, it's not QD_Oled, it's even slightly less than WOLED, but it's much brighter than the TV counterpart in full white scenes. There's reports of burnin for people using it as computer desktop. I don't doubt that because these are BRIGHT, and it almost doesn't APL-dim at all.
If you look after these and use full brightness- sparingly when it counts, I don't anticipate problems.
Color accuracy is, not so much. But it looks good, no crush or anything.

The Cnet reviewer says the brightness of the glasses resets to the factory default value of 50% every time you power them on. This alone shows the developers have no clue what they're even doing, so how could they possibly be trusted to get anything else right. It's impossible to imagine how they didn't notice this in testing. I know it's hard making stuff, but come on there is a limit to where this excuse works.

Is madvr outputing 960x1080 for 3D on each eye? I noticed that the image is squished, then you have to use fit screen to stretch it back to 1920x1080, and the readout indicates it's using upscaler for x-axis.
Is there a way to get it to play 1920 to each eye without squishing first?

Installing a newer madVR beta also solved multiplication of identifications.
However, it also introduced a new host of settings under the HDR section, and I have no idea what to do about them. I thought that "passthrough HDR to display" meant that no additional configuration is required on the part of madVR (regarding HDR specifically).
