JDobbs, thanks for all the hard work. Love this app very much. W/the latest build, have been experiencing the same error when trying to rebuild a BD50 to BD25. I also now get this error w/earlier versions of BD-RB. I'm currently using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 w/a i920 & 6GB of triple channel memory. Have been able to rebuild a couple dozen movies before I started getting this error. I uninstalled Avisynth, Haali & ffdshow then reinstalled but I still get this error...can anyone help me?

You want help with a pirated source?
Furthermore, The Empire Strikes Back isn't even available on Bluray...I suggest you sling your hook and don't post.
Just looked at your post history...
BDRB is not for backing up your downloaded Blurays, home made blurays...Its for backing up UNMODIFIED store bought blurays.

The one on the first page doesn't expire for over a a month from now... and it's running right now on my system. I think you're mistaken. Are you sure you're pointing to that version?
If the file has been modified/hacked in any way it might also cause that message. I'd suggest you do a virus scan on your system and then download again.
Hmm. Somehow my system date got set back 10 days. Resetting fixed it. Funny thing is, it didn't fix it until I redownloaded it after resetting the correct date. AT any rate its working now, so thanks.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm only saying it to be sure that you're reporting a genuine bug
My suspicion is that you have downloaded the "original" and and mounted that as an ISO on your hard drive and run it on TMT3 and it works with the PiP audio intact (as it should). However you have only tried the ISO on your standalone after running it through BDRB and burning to BD25 and playing that on your standalone...Thereby experiencing the missing audio that happens on the Sony bluray players unless you have the audio output set to "Mix" in the setup menu.
Thus, jumping to the conclusion that the original wouldn't do this because it doesn't with TMT3 having never actually tested the original ISO with the Sony standalone since you don't have a BD50 disc.
Sorry dude for assuming this, but it's defo a likely scenario for some people ain't making a judgment on morals or anything here.
I appreciate that the Sony has a flaw / limitation and I hadn't tried the original on it for PiP - it's set to direct as I also have a LG which doesn't output 7 channels independently which does play the disc fine (again I've just checked it). I can honestly say I've never watched a PiP or intend to start but this issue was more to do with the Sony losing the main audio on bd-9 and perhaps it would be resolved with a 'proper' PiP structure. It's nonsense to suggest, as others have, that verifying the outputs with TMT on the pc first is somehow a flawed process. The ripped image, or playing the disc on a pc with TMT, works fine. The bd-25 version doesn't allow the secondary audio to be played - somehow there is a difference apart from encoding. It doesn't matter from my perspective regarding the bd-25, but as this thread is about identifying bugs it might be that some small tweak could impact on other functionality.
I didn't take this the wrong way as we all appreciate that problems caused from those who have downloaded corrupt versions.

:) does seem a bit weird, could you say which title is giving this issue. Maybe someone else has this disc.

Is there a x264 build difference released in BD-RB v0.26.03 and v0.28.03?
If so what are the build numbers for each BD-RB release?

v0.26.03 uses x264 r1183, v0.28.03 uses r1206.
I was wondering if the command syntax is the same, at least for the "LASTCMD.TXT" commands BD-RB submits or where can one reference the x264 command syntax for each build? I don't see it listed on wiki or videolan's web site.
I want to see if I'm able to replace x264's exe for testing from v0.26.03 to v0.28.03.

hi jdobbs,
is there another handling for fast blu ray encoding (with 25gb) regarding the audio stream ???
Using this option i'am getting the hd audio tracks, using the normal endocding i'am getting only dolby digital tracks.

Just so you know I aborted it b/c it was in a loop, BD-RB didn't.
After its done a successful encode i'll test it out again in 1 pass. Anything you want me to do in particular that would help in troubleshooting?

1. Is it normal that BD-RB would write "--output NUL" in the command string?
2. BD-RB successfully completed "00074.m2ts" just before outputting this command. What might cause VID_00072 to fail? Both are MPEG-4 (AVC) files.

Whenever you see this error, immediately copy the command line from LASTCMD.TXT in the BD-RB directory and paste it into a command window. Then you will be able to see what error X264 is running into.
If you've recently upgraded to Win7 -- search the thread.

Yes it is normal for the output to be converted from "i" to "p" -- if you look at the AVS file you'll see the conversion.
Yes it is normal for the first pass to output to NUL -- it saves time, and all that is really need for pass two is the stats info.
Just as a test, try opening VID_00172.AVS with the media player and see what is displayed. It may be that the AVISYNTH filters aren't working correctly.

I have made no changes to the computer since I have been using BD Rebuilder, other then using upgrades. I even tried using a few older versions of the program, same result. To recap, I backed-up the disc using ANYDVD and then tried to shrink it. No sucess yet. My guess is that Haali Media Splitter is somehow related to the problem.

In doing so I'm noting the differences between BD-RB builds, the commands it's submitting to x264 and the differences in the the video content being processed.
2. K:\Bd25 4\Valkyrie (2008)\BD-RBV02803_64\WORKFILES\VID_00172.AVS is < 1kb in size and WMP12 does not recognize the file and is unable to play it.

3. The original video content VID_00074 is 1080p and BD-RB v0.28.03 processes just fine where VID_00172 is 1080i and fails. I was wondering if there was any special way the "interlaced" content is required to be processed using a 64-bit platform. Noted in my previous post I've tested setting both VC-1 (disabled and wmv9) but the results are the same. The same exact job running XP SP3 32-bit works perfectly with ffdshow's default settings.

64 bit version of Windows 7 shouldn't cause a problem. I use it with no problems at all.
Looks just like a codec issue to me. You do realise that getting ffdshow or any "seperate" codec to work where Windows 7 already has one is a pain in the backside?
Look back in my post history, about 4-8 posts ago I linked to a post containing a guide someone had made to get BDRB to use ffdshow codecs and TMT2 codec for VC1 (since this is one of the only ways to decode 1080i hybrid video)
There is no "free" software that can decode those hybrid interlaced VC1 material to my knowledge.
EDIT - Just seen that the VC1 decoding isn't the problem...but the first part of my post is relevent still as it will allow you to use ffdshow decorder as maybe Windows 7 decoder can't handle that interlaced stream.

To my recollection the TMT2 workaround supports 32-bit only, but I could be mistaken.
If BD-RB v0.27.01 or later fails on a Windows 64-bit architecture using Encode Settings: HIGHEST or HIGH QUALITY, the easy solution to:
A) Use BD-RB v0.26.03
B) Use BD-RB v0.28.03 or later on a 32-bit machine if one has access.
Note in general (not directed toward you):
I think it would be a good idea to start a Known Problems & Solutions document that is released with BD-RB noting potential issues and/or suggested solutions one my try as well as which OS and bit depth they are for. I find there is quite a bit of information captured in this forum but it would be nice to see it captured in one document. I know this might entail additional work for someone, or some volunteers but the benefit should out weigh the work then can easily be maintained going forward.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit ships with WMP12, I'm not yet been able to find out which decoder it uses. I'm unclear if one must install WMP9 or WMP11 when attempting to use ffdshow or it has its own codec for wmv9 contained within it's installation.
The odd part is that ffdshow "ffdshow_rev2661_20090207_clsid.exe" referenced on page one of this forum hasn't changed. BD-RB v0.26.03 and prior releases complete successfully Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. It's only the releases after that that fail. I'm unable to determine, since I'm unable to capture the commands BD-RB submits to 3rd party software, if the problem lies in a newer 3rd party software packaged with BD-RB or the new command syntax or extracted files on the BD-RB side that may cause the 3rd party software to fail for some reason. If there was a way to capture BD-RB's commands submitted to 3rd party software I could test this independently to definitively know where the problem is.
I wish there was a debug mode/option that would output and retain all information, this would be very useful.

Windows 7 x64 works just fine with the TMT2 decoding dll files that are needed for decoding via directshow as BDRB does. It's just the actual TMT2 player that doesn't work ;)

Actually BD rebuilder already manages to convert VC-1 1080i as I've used it to convert all my Torchwood and Dr Who which uses field based 1080i VC-1, it just has a problem on Dual Xeoon i7 with hyperthreading turned on, works fine with hyper threading off or on a standard single i7 system

I can also confirm BD-RBV02803 had no trouble with field based VC-1 interlaced files, as a full movie backup to BD-25 of the movie 300 worked perfectly. There were six **.m2ts files on this disc, all processed with no trouble on my I7 920, XP Pro, 32bit.

The one on the first page doesn't expire for over a a month from now... and it's running right now on my system. I think you're mistaken. Are you sure you're pointing to that version?
If the file has been modified/hacked in any way it might also cause that message. I'd suggest you do a virus scan on your system and then download again.

ok, this is solved - and anyone that has problems with this, you need to check your system dates. I found out my girlfriend was checking out future dates on calendar and had hit apply - effectively making the date 2 months into the future. I didn't even think to check that, but that's what it was. Category 5 had the same issue. Sorry this even came up.

sorry - I mean v0.28.03 The only thing that can cause it is for the date on your system to be wrong -- or if the EXE has been changed in any way.

So after installing Acrsoft TotalMedia Theater 2 and updating it to v2.1.6.130 how does one set it as the decoder for BD-RB?
I've attempted to follow the other instructions posted but Arcsoft is not listed under 64-bit using Win7DSFilterTweaker v1.4. Some of the other links are dead.
I don't see anything in BD-RB's *.ini file either.

Now I can't get any copy to work! With every project I get this:
- This is not an EBML file (id=0/440786851
Please help!

I just read that you're not supporting Windows 7. While I am disappointed, I have been grateful how bieng able to use the program this long. Windows 7 aside, Is there anyway to get around this particular error?
Thank you very much for your time.

I'll have to support it eventually... but not until it is officially released and all the bugs/incompatibilities are worked out. There's a price to pay for jumping on a bandwagon too soon.

Well, as I've said I've enjoyed using the program so far and I look forward to when you do support it. Thank you for your obviously hard work.

Perhaps it's not a Windows 7 problem. Any ideas?
