Hi jdobbs, Thanks again for confirming it for me. I re-installed to the latest version and re-installed all packages and I successfully encoded "Ladder 49". Thanks again. Is it just me or since I installed latest 39.07 my CPU speed only goes to 50% now instead of maxing continually on 100%. But the funny thing is it has been encoding them between 2/12 to 3/12 hours now instead of 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours. I don't understand why but am very happy with the outcome/quality and will not be changing anything in my settings.
Cheers,
Squad The CPU usage seems to depend on how fast the frames get served to X264. Different sources can vary the frame-serving. Normally you'll see lower CPU usage on very fast processors because the source can't be read and presented to X264 as fast as it can encode. You might try LAVF as sometimes it is faster (but not always).
As for speed -- it could be affected by changes to X264, but certainly not to the degree you're seeing. My first instinct would be to ask "How many hours does the source contain?" -- as that can change dramatically between discs. You can have two discs that are the exact same size but one might contain twice as many frames (and take twice as long).

Well .. then ill tell it again .. im NOT ocīing - have 2tb free on the drive - tried with 4 BD - same error! - and it failes after 1-2 min hdd pounding (x264.exe) - even reinstalled ALL programs.

I never said you were overclocked. If you could read, you'd see that in my response. That still doesn't change the fact that your problem is most likely a hardware issue on your end. If you can't accept that then learn to live with it-- it's clearly not my problem. Fix your computer. When X264 is working for everybody on the planet except for you -- don't you think that might be an indicator where the problem is?

DKdude. Check all your temps. Everest, speedfan, etc. There are programs out there that can check. Speedfan can also check your HDD's for smart errors.

@DKdude
One last thing you might try. I just went to the X264 download site (http://www.x264.nl) and noticed that while there isn't a newer version available, there is a newer build of the latest one (I noticed a file size difference). If they posted a newer build I always have to wonder why. According to the information, though all the libraries etc are identical -- but since the file size has changed -- something is different. You can always try to download that one and replace the one included in BD-RB and see if it makes a difference. I doubt it since the encode failure only seems to happen on your system -- but it never hurts to try. I don't know what processor you're using -- but it could be they used different compiler directives in the latest build that affects it.

Thanks .. no go .. on my other machine no matter what i do - it will only run with "internal leaf" - can BD be ok quality with that? - cause then ill leave it at that before i go insane :)

Internal leaf? Sorry, I don't know what that is...

Internal leaf? Sorry, I don't know what that is...
"Use X264's internal LAVF for decoding"
my bad

"Use X264's internal LAVF for decoding"
my badIt works if you use that? That kind of error happens almost immediately and conflicts with:...x264 crashes after a long time "pounding" the harddisk. So I'm confused as to what is actually happening on your computer. If LAVF works then the issue is definitely one of either AVISYNTH, FFDSHOW, or HAALI that is configured incorrectly (or are the wrong versions). Please post the results of running INSPECT.EXE from both computers.

Do you have any "CODEC packs" installed on your computer? If so, remove them, reinstall and try again.

Hi. The version of MKVmerge you're using with BD Rebuilder is 2.9.70, and the version I have installed and using with a GUI is 5.2.0.0 which does support .SUP files. It uses a module for them, like AC3. Perhaps that info useful to you?
Is there any way to make TSMUXER less (?) intense on Systems? Anyone else notice it bringing a Fast 64-Bit 7 system to a crawl when trying to start/run new programs which run smooth otherwise while it's DeMuxing? I understand how HDD heads operate; Thanks. I'm trying to notice if it's a bug with it or with BD Rebilder...or?

Absolutly nothing else than BD needīd programs and no codecs

Absolutly nothing else than BD needīd programs and no codecs Let's try something else. Try downloading this version of HAALI (www.jdobbs.net/freeware/MatroskaSplitter.exe) and this version of FFDSHOW (http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/ffdshow_rev3326_20100319_clsid.exe) and see if they make a difference. They were the versions recommended up until last summer. Again, though, I'm not confident it will have an effect. I still suspect hardware issues since no one else is reporting anything similar to your issues...

Do you have anything other than "Idle Priority" set under the "settings/encoder settings" menu? That could conceivable make it worsen its effects.

thx again :) HIDDENOPTS.TXT is actually nothing more than a description of the options available -- so in fact it is "a guide". As for the software... I've been meaning to put together a Users Guide for a long time, but just haven't gotten around to it.
Programmers are notorious for failing to document -- it's just kinda' boring. But as I used to read on restroom walls "The job's not over 'til the paperwork is done."

I am not sure of the restroom you are referring to, but this would be quite less obscene then what I have read... and there was usually a phone number listed!! :rolleyes: :o ;)
I always appreciate your sense of humor! :p

It could be for a number of reasons -- but it's likely because you have deinterlacing and resizing enabled. When either of those is used it requires AVISYNTH and therefore forces the 32 bit X264 version.

It could be for a number of reasons -- but it's likely because you have deinterlacing and resizing enabled. When either of those is used it requires AVISYNTH and therefore forces the 32 bit X264 version.
Got it.
Thanks (also for your beautiful software)

@zorro101
Hi!
I had no such problem with "AI", nor have I ever come across a commercial Blu-ray disc that did not contain those two files.
Is your source material a commercial Blu-ray disc?

Hi there,
Can someone help me with the error? I am using this at my home PC and I love it! Trying to get it working on my work PC with very similar hardware and it does not compute. I have done everything I can think of, which is not much.
I appreciate any help. I love this software!

Thank you. First try reinstalling BD Rebuilder, AVISYNTH, HAALI, and FFDSHOW. Most of the time the issue if caused by some other program intercepting or overwriting settings. If that doesn't work, try the instructions in this link. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1550385#post1550385) Please let me know either way how it works out.

@DKdude
Now that you're working, can you do me a favor? Can you install one-at-a-time and see whether it was FFDSHOW or HAALI that fixed your issue?
Also, can you post what kind of processor you are using on the computer that had issues? I'd like to see what is common about computers that need the older FFDSHOW/HAALI version(s).
@Everyone
Is anyone else experiencing issues when they use the versions of HAALI and/or FFSHOW linked in the first post? I seem to remember someone else mentioning this before.

Uninstalling and reinstalling everything from scratch worked like a charm. I just donated $10 to you. Your program is worth much more to me, but it's all I can afford right now. Enjoy a lunch on me! :thanks:

Per my previous post, has anybody backed up Men In Black? The ensuing video plays for a few mins, but no matter what scene you shuffle to, it doesn't move, the audio does but the video stays stuck. Movie-only backup works, but not full backup.

I noticed that with the movie Starman, but when noticed AnyDVD's tray was still running in the background, though not in the System Tray, even after I exited AnyDVD after a couple uses of TSMUXER I noticed the Starman render did the same thing you described. Video stopped at one point but I could still hear. I terminated the AnyDVD tray, and ran AnyDVD program. Good render now. I hope that helps.

how i can do 2 pass with bdrebuilder? or is automatic?
Look under "SETTINGS/ENCODE SETTINGS/Quality" if it is set to "Automatic Quality" BD Rebuilder will choose the quality setting needed (it could be 1 or 2 pass). If not, you can select whatever you want. Two pass is the default, and one-pass can be selected (ABR or CRF).
Most of the time 2-pass is used with automatic selection, but if the source is exceptionally small it may not. I recommend you leave it on "Automatic".
