Another bug report: Did "con air" using latest bd-rb. Main movie is split across 3 m2ts files (00000.m2ts, 00008.m2ts, 00009.m2ts).
I have no idea why (no feature on the disc suggests a reason of why it's split)
Anyway, BD-RB output (bd25 full backup) hangs on playback in the point where the movie switches from 00000 to 00008.

Sorry, my bad. Turns out it was a powerdvd problem.
However, a different problem does exist - there is an audio gap noticeable in the movie when it swtiches from 00000 to 00008.
I reported this issue on a different title before (I think it was on the movie 21).

I have done this disc fine but I'm currently re-doing The Godfather II (I had blank disc issues with the first one I did) and have also had an Encode Failed. I have gone back to an earlier version of bd-r and it's doing the troublesome file at the moment.
**The Godfather II completed fine using 21.01

Bare in mind there are different regional versions of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (They have different BD+ protection and differ more than most releases)...Also maybe the people who got it to work are talking about the 50s version ;)

Quite right. I have done the Region A version of the new film to full disc on both dvd-9 and bd-25.
On mine 00254.m2ts is a diddy file, second to last on the disc (00255 is the last and is also small). If all you require is to complete the disc just advance on manually and copy them.

Benjamin Button EUR full complete backup went oversize by maybe 1%, just enough not to fit the disc. So it was no saturation before. Something must have gone wrong in 0.23.01 and fixed in 0.23.02.

That's exactly where I am. It works for the video, but not the audio. I can use EAC3TO to demux them (since TSMUXER can't) -- but then TSMUXER doesn't recognize them for remuxing and I'm right back where I started.
Why not demux the DTS Express track found on PIP tracks then encode it to AC3 with aften and mux that back in place of the DTS Express track and make modifications needed to the mpls\clpi files?
Using AC3 for PIP tracks is within the standards right?

So the m2ts files, but what other files need to get copied over? the only ones that look important to me are the mpls files, but there are like 700 of those in the structure and only 392 of the m2ts.
EDIT - I added the M2Ts and incremented past in order to try rebuilding but got the message
"One or more reencoded files are missing (oo384.clpi)
EDIT2 - Added clpi files found in original directory and get "Failure to multiplex"
Any more ideas on what i can do to salvage this one before I erase it all and chalk it up to a fail? It looks like the structure is being rebuilt up to the inclusion of the 9 small problem files at the end. Can I just copy those into the new structure or are them some final important steps that will be missing? I think this is a seamless branching issue to be honest.

The clpi file is created by tsmuxer not bd-rb and tsmuxer does not have the ability to set the correct PID of the secondary audio.

????Why not?
Just copy the two files and clpi to the workfiles directory, increase the increment log by two and that should work.

You need to copy the m2ts files from the original BMDV\STREAM to the working directory and also the corresponding clpi from BMDV\CLIPINF, then increment the .inf file for each one you have replaced.

Using AC3 for PIP tracks is within the standards right?I can't find anything that decodes it either (to reencode). It isn't recognized as standard DTS. Also, the only types of streams allowed for secondary audio are DTS Express and Dolby Digital Plus -- and I don't know of any freeware encoders for those.

I probably shouldn't report this yet till I try it with the latest version. But did a backup of Samurai 7 anime BD1 and the first encode i did with both TrueHD audio tracks came up over sized by about 4.5GB (BD25 Encode) then tried it a second time with only the english audio and it was about 4% over sized at 1.5GB.
Used BD-RB 22.02 but will try again tonight with the latest version see if I get the same resaults. If there is some specific info needed from BD-RB or someone is curious let me know.
I just used the standard settings. x264 mode, BD25, Slowest speed.
Great app btw, this is the only disk i've had a problem with trying to backup.
Thanks for the hard work JDobbs! I've modified my muxing parameters for the next version to be more accurate. Dolby TrueHD is the cause of most oversizing. It isn't unusual to see 40% muxing overhead (in TSMUXER) on those streams.

The Arcsoft decoder in TMT decodes it but it isn't freeware so...
Could be a big problem, good luck.

It is the bd output. The original is 1920*1080. And the result is a 4/3 letterboxed 2.35:1 movie instead of 16/9 letterboxed as it should. THe first time it happened I thought it was some trouble with the original movie.

I've updated the first post of this thread with a new release (v0.24.01) of BD Rebuilder. There have been significant changes in this version -- so treat it accordingly. The change are:
- Added code to increase output size prediction
accuracy. A WARNING to those using custom sizes
in order to make "adjusted" output, -- you will
likely oversize/undersize. The actual size of the
output should now be closer to that specified in
the selected target parameter. A special thanks to
lithiumus for his help in the sizing adjustments.
- Changed the default values for AC3. Reencoding will
now be done at 640Kbs for 5.1 (rather than 448Kbs)
and 224Kbs for 2.0 (rather than 192Kbs). Also the
setup dialog option has changed to enable 448Kbs as
a secondary option (previously 640Kbs).
- Fixed an inconsistency in the percentage reporting
to the status bar when in minimized mode.
- Added a LOG entry when BD-RB can't find the X264
window handle. This is just to clearly identify if
the 50% complete problem is a result of a failed
attempt to retrieve the handle.
- Corrected a bug that could under certain conditions
prevent playback of streams that had secondary video
on the original disc.
- Added code to prevent failed encode on very small
sources due to ridiculously low specified bitrate.
- Added an ETA field to the status display of the GUI
that shows an estimate the time needed to complete
the current encoding pass.
- Added a partial implementation of PiP rebuilds. The
video should now be included on full backups. Audio
support is still in development.
- Changed the name of the INF file. Previously the
job status information (INF) was saved to a file
called "BDREBUILDER.INF" in the destination folder.
Now, to keep the information for debugging, etc. I
have named it according to the source.
- Added an option to the SETUP dialog for automatic
removal of the WORKFILES directory after rebuild.
Warning: Selecting this option removes all files
required to perform another REBUILD in the event you
decided to "tweak" the source slightly. Use with
caution.
- Added a "Shutdown after REBUILD" option under the
FILE menu. This will shutdown your computer at job
completion (only if BD-RB has successfully completed
all its encode and rebuild steps). A warning/abort
dialog gives the opportunity to abort the shutdown.
- Updated X264.EXE to a newer release (r1173).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Wow!! many new changes and features. Where do you find the time? I thank you for it!!
I have been having all successful backups on the previous versions, both full movie and movie only. I will try to keep up with you on my testing of this new version. ;) :thanks:
EDIT:
The need for either tsMuxer to support DTS Express or jdobbs to create his own muxer for BD-RB, or a free alternative to reencode DTS Express to Dolby Digital for the PIP option to be complete. And not even 7 months since your first release. I am impressed!!

Great work with the latest version
I have been using this AVS script to blank unwanted extras on some discs and it would be great if it could be included somehow and since its a clean static image it compresses extremely well and only requires a very tiny bitrate
I change the length to match the original so as not to upset chapter points etc
video = BlankClip(length=164356, width=1920 , height=1080 , fps=24000, fps_denominator=1001, color=$000000)
audio = BlankClip(video, audio_rate=48000, stereo=true)
AudioDub(video, audio)
Subtitle("Video Removed", size=120 , align=5)
ConvertToYV12()
I also include audio so it can be processed through wavi and aften to create a blank 128Kb 2.0 audio track if required

I don't think its related to PiP, but you never know.
Any special settings? Full or movie-only backup? English audio/subs kept?
Full disc, keeping HD Audio, English audio\subs only. needed to set min m2ts to 150mb, since there is a file about 0.4mb that refuses to encode and is part of a larger mpls evidently.

Just had my first problem backup in quite some time. First test with BD-RBV02401, Die Hard, Region A, full movie, keep HD audio. Backup completes successfully, computer shuts down after completion( NICE!! ). However:
Tried with PowerDVD 7.3, burned to Sony BD-RE also for playback on Sony BDP-BX1, with similar results. Insert disc in computer, intro warning starts and plays the still image and the timer keeps on counting, but it never leaves the intro warning. Unable to select top menu or pop up menu. Thats as far as it will go.
When I play the disc on the BX1, it plays the intro warning and does go to the menu, but when I select play, the movie wants to try to play but the intro warning never leaves the screen. The counter starts to count, the audio is heard for about 8-9 seconds and then no more audio, and only the intro warning was ever on the screen and no movie video, only just the warning. I am able to select top menu now.
Special features will not play either, except the trailers, which do play but only after what appears to be a quick blank screen rapid run thru of all the chapters, and then the trailers start and play.
I'm not sure what to make of this one. I am starting over and trying it again with BD-RBV02302, just to see what happens with this version. I had not experienced a single issue with 2302, so I might as well see what happens with Die Hard.
