Yes I remember but them files on rent were in the extras which I dont think it does MPLS checking which can be concidered a bug.
I was just refering to the main movie MPLS as in seamless branched discs where I think it does MPLS checking
Gotcha, will give Wall-E a go then...:)

I suppose one way to find out would be to set the MIN_M2TS value higher than the majority of the m2ts files of the main movie and see if the files with a lower filesize show up in the stream tab on BD Rebuilder if they do then you know you should be ok to go

It's not irrelevant that a program allows you to do something that yields flawed results.
I don't see any relevence to this beta program. You're changing the conditions under which BD Rebuilder is expected to work. Ripping to an .MKV then reconverting to Blu-Ray structure isn't the same thing as working from the original structure from the disc.
I understand that you would like a resolution to the problem you're experiencing, but it seems to me you're throwing a monkeywrench into the process and calling it a bug.
It doesn't seem quite fair to jdobbs.

Gotcha, will give Wall-E a go then...:)
Just tried to load ratatoullie which is the same as wall-e with loads of m2ts file to make up the movie and set the MIN_M2TS value to 10GB and in full disc mode it just picked up the one segment at 16GB (1hr) ignoring the rest of the movie files so im guessing it dont do MPLS checking on the main movie either so best to either avoid these discs for now or set the MIN_M2TS value low enough to pick up all the m2ts files that make up the movie
I then tried setting MIN_M2TS to 0 and it then showed every m2ts including one as small as 0.67MB to be ReEncoded so you can have as much or little done as you require

I can confirm that you have to disable 24p playback on the Panasonic DMP-BD35 to successfully play a movie only BD-25 done with BD-RB. With 24p there is only sound and no picture.
(Using newest Tsmuxer and BD-RB)
Are there any solutions?
thats not true mate ive got a BD35 too and 24p is not disabled and ive done over a 100 movies now and theyve all played perfectly im using LG GGW H20L burner and the BD35 is going through onkyo 805 so i know whether true hd or dts hd master or dts hi res etc is being played

Which version of TsMuxer are you using as this may be a bug that was introduced the the latest build which I think is still 1.8.35(b) and are you also doing movie only like mhammer because this may not be the case with full disc backups which can and probably will behave differently

Not doing too well today. I have done The Devil Wears Prada and everything was fine and I burned a bd-9. I played it on a standalone and thought I might have a disc fault as about half way throught the film the pictures freezes but the audio continues. I checked the image on the hard disc and that was the same, but as expected the original and rip were fine.
I have same problem......BD-RB version is 20.05.
Please help us!!!!!!!!!!!! What`s wrong???
Please don't jump on me if I'm wrong but I tried to get this to work for a friend who had this issue. When I checked the version had been downloaded from a newsgroup and there is a nearly unnoticable glitch in the original (she's just started to talk to some chap at a party or the like). If you are telling me you ripped this from your original disc then it must be a mastering error, but otherwise perhaps you should withdraw quietly.

True if there is a corrupt frame(s) then the movie can freeze on that corrupt frame for the rest of the encode.
If thats the case then its not really a bug but more a source problem if you own the disc try ripping it again if it is indeed a download then you may never be able to re encode the source files you currently have

Just as an update to my discs that were getting the audio remapped by BDRB incorrectly when backed up full disc mode. I notice that one of the discs (resident evil extinction) has 2 video tracks and an EAC3+ mono track (that is supposed to be played with the 2nd video track by the looks of it)...I think there's an inherrant problem in the way BDRB deals with the 2nd video track and it has knock on consequences for channel mapping. I looked at the other discs that were having problems and can't find anything "complex" in them though (The Godfather Part III especially is pretty plain with no extra video track or weird AC3+ audio).

Just had a look at that resident evil 3 disc heres what i found
Playlist 00001.mpls references file 00011.m2ts (Movie with PiP)
Video(PlayItem): AVC 1080p
Audio(PlayItem): TrueHD in Eng, Fra
Audio(PlayItem): DD 5.1 Spa, Por
Audio(PlayItem): DD 2.0
SubVideo(PiP): AVC 480p
SubAudio(PiP): E-AC3 1.0
+ Subs
Playlist 00060.mpls references file 00011.m2ts (Movie Only)
Video(PlayItem): AVC 1080p
Audio(PlayItem): TrueHD in Eng, Fra
Audio(PlayItem): DD 5.1 Spa, Por
Audio(PlayItem): DD 2.0
+ Subs
Maybe something for jdobbs to look into at some point even if it means just demuxing every audio track and the 2nd PiP video track at the same time BD-RB demuxes the audio/subs then just multiplexes these back into the stream on rebuild for BD25 only
such as adding code that translates to something like
#DEMUX
IF VID_COUNT=1
DEMUX_AUD/SUB
ELSE DEMUX_AUD/SUB/PIPVID
do all encoding etc then multiplex either the video stream and selected audio or the normal streams and the PiP tracks if they were in the source
Dont know if it would work or not but its got to be better than just ignoring the second PiP Video track
I just demuxed the PiP track in TsMuxer and its only 2.6GB so it wont eat that much space and the PiP audio is only about 65MB

(Just kidding with you)It's strange to put jdobbs's name in quotes.Didn't I read that you are the progeny of educators? I was taught (Loooooong ago) that when, in writing, you refer to someone by a pseudonym, the pseudonym is entered in quotation marks - whereas, on the other hand when, in writing, addressing that person by his/her pseudonym, there is no need to enter it into quotation marks.

Which version of Bd-Rb and Tsmuxer you are using?
Which settings do you use?
I tried the included and the newest Tsmuer with Bd-Rb without success.
I always use "Movie only". Must be something with the settings of x264 reencodes, because Ripbot works just fine.

im using latest version of tsremuxer 1.8.35, settings in bd rebuilder are to keep full hd audio and tested with movie only and full movie and burning back to bd25s, im using sony, verbatim bd-re's and ive found out that infiniti bd-re's will burn back 23.2GB.
i bought a bd35 about 6 weeks ago for sheer reason my ps3 stopped playing the ps3 stopped playing backups, ive had an LG GGW H20L since november 2007 and ive been creating backups since then with tsmuxer etc. without any difficulty once id got my head round it and the lack of help lol took me a month to figure out how to rip and burn them properly, so after i got the BD35 i found after initial settings it works spot on with anything im throwing at it.
ive been using traxdata bd-rs at the minute and ive got some 6x sony bd-rs on order from japan store which ill test again but as far as i can tell every disk and setting ive used be full hd audio or standard audio has worked in the BD35 but not my ps3.

I have a SONY BDP-S350 so cannot comment the the BD30 using traxdata 4x BD-R25s and never had a bad burn yet using a LG Burner
Im just trying to figure out why it works for one and not another if you both have different firmware versions it could be a firmware issue

I then tried setting MIN_M2TS to 0 and it then showed every m2ts including one as small as 0.67MB to be ReEncoded so you can have as much or little done as you requireHmm... MIN_M2TS should have no affect whatsoever on movie-only encodes. I'll check it out when I get back home. I'm currently on the road for some real-job work.

Hmm... MIN_M2TS should have no affect whatsoever on movie-only encodes. I'll check it out when I get back home. I'm currently on the road for some real-job work.
Sorry no this was on a full disc copy but I was just mentioning ratatoullie as I knew it was seamless branched
But any movie that is seamless branched can get some segments of the playlist get converted and some dont so you can end up with a MPLS thats gets corected referencing AC3/DTS as was encoded and the actual m2ts files that get converted will match but any that fall below the MIN_M2TS value just get copied untouched so have the wrong audio streams
The same can happen with the video if you have say a VC-1 seamless branched disc the segments that fall below the MIN_M2TS value remain as VC-1 where the ones above get encoded to AVC and the MPLS get corrected to reference AVC so you end up with a playlist with mixed audio/video content that wont play
This issue came into light when Furiousflea tried to do rent that had multiple M2TS files for the extras that were referenced in 2 different playlists and the output ended up with mixed video content I think in a MPLS file making it unplayable.
As a work around I suggested setting the MIN_M2TS value lower than the smallest stream so all the M2TS files in the playlist would get reencoded
Would it be difficult to add some kind of code to read the MPLS files in full disc mode and force a reencode of all M2TS files in the playlist even if they fall below the MIN_M2TS value
Or better still add a MPLS processing mode where BD Rebuilder would process full MPLS files instead of indervidual M2TS streams
For example you have a playlist that has the following files
00001.m2ts @ 300MB
00002.m2ts @ 600MB
00003.m2ts @ 80MB
00004.m2ts @ 120MB
As it is now with the default MIN_M2TS set at 100MB it will process streams 1, 2 & 4 but ignore 3 making it non complient
With a MPLS processing mode it could just see
00001.mpls @ 1100MB and encode every M2TS referenced in it including 00003.m2TS even though its below the MIN_M2TS value making it complient
Sorry if its hard to understand its getting late here for me and im tired and to be up early for work

Tried Level 4.1 in Ripbot with this:
--level 4.1 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 2 --aud --nal-hrd --vbv-bufsize 40000 --vbv-maxrate 40000 --filter -3,-3 --ref 4 --mixed-refs --bframes 3 --b-adapt 2 --weightb --direct auto --subme 8 --trellis 1 --partitions p8x8,b8x8,i4x4,i8x8 --8x8dct --ipratio 1.1 --pbratio 1.1 --me umh --threads auto --thread-input --mvrange 511 --sar 1:1 --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim
works just fine on my PD-35 with 24p.
maybe "--nal-hrd" does the trick.
Bd-Rb uses:
--level 4.1 --sar 1:1 --aud --vbv-bufsize 25000 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 1 --vbv-maxrate 35000 --filter 0,0 --subme 7 --me umh --ref 3 --bframes 3 --direct auto --8x8dct --weightb --trellis 1 --psy-rd 1.0:0.2 --aq-strength 0.8 --threads auto

I used Ripbot with custom profile.
But even with same x264 settings as Bd-Rb, its works just fine on my Bd-35.
Tried same x264 and tsmuxer version, Ripbot works, Bd-Rb doesn´t.
Maybe it has someting to do with the "ConvertToYV12()" in Avs script.
I would like to use Bd-Rb, but don´t know what to try next to get things working.

...Just found this on the DTS website...
DTS uses a system called DTS Express to deliver Secondary or Sub Audio to your player. The DTS Express audio is mixed with the Primary Audio, giving you an intensely great interactive surround experience.
tsmuxer can't open this stuff, and it's used on a LOT of blurays with PIP tracks. I'd be curious to know what jdobbs has to say\thinks on the subject of PIP track and if this will cause a problem due to lack of muxing support...at least in the tsmuxer GUI.

That most likely won't work if becuase BDRB will have done other incorrect steps to the source causing the proble. It's not simply a case of swapping the tracks\track numbers in the m2ts.
There are some discs where BD-Rebuilder will incorrectly map the streams, normally discs with PIP.
What disc is it and does tsmuxer show the TrueHD track in the finished output from BDRB even though it's not playing...

Tested v0.20.05 for the first time last night. Did a Full Backup, but stripped one of the two TrueHD tracks. Process finished without problems. Burned the data on a BD-RE and it worked flawlessly on a PS3. Audio sync seems fine and PS3 reports it's playing a TrueHD track. I then tried to play the disc on a Panasonic DMP-BD55 and a Samsung P1500, and both refused to play the disc. (My apologies if this issue is already common knowledge.)
Panny tastes the disc and stops playback, showing STOP in its display. Samsung starts playing the disc, but stops at 0:00:00 and only a black screen is displayed. Dune BD Prime plays the disc, and so does a Sony S550.

@jdobbs
with BD RB 0.20.05
in setup, because i wanted to keep dts i've only checked "do not convert dts to ac3".
i had this audio;DTS 1.5 mbps and now i got AC3 448 kbs
here's the ini
DTS_REENCODE=0
AC3_REENCODE=1
AC3_640=0
KEEP_HD_AUDIO=0
if i only got one audio track "do not convert dts to ac3" has priority on the other options, isn't it?
so if there's DTS_REENCODE=0,you can't also have AC3_REENCODE=1
if i got the solution, can i use the files in "workfiles"?
thanx
is there a solution for my problem, please?
bye

I don't care what wikipedia doesn't say. I'm pretty sure I'm right. What do you mean "not for bluray"...What else would I be talking about in the BDRB thread?

It's hard to tell what your problem is. BDRebuider "will" extract the dts audio track properly if you don't keep the HD audio.
1. Start by reading this guide which will explain the proper use of the audio options if it's unclear to you. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145024
2. Make sure you are not using the version of tsmuxer that comes with 20.05, obtain the latest version, 1.8.35 works.
3. Start from scratch after you've done these 2 things. You could work from your working files, but it would be hard to explain if you only have basic experience with this stuff.
4. Try reading back through several days of this thread to get a feel of what others have been doing to solve their issues.

A bit of help please, slightly off topic.
I have just got Wallace and Gromit Loaf and Death and I'm going to make a back up before the kids have chance to trash it. The actual disc is only 9.5Gb, with the movie 6.5 Gb. I have run it through BD-RB fine and there is no issue. However, it's obvious that I can keep the main movie intact and only re-encode the extras. I therefore ran bd-rb again and forced a smaller custom size. This was fine and now I want to create a new structure. If I copy the m2ts and clpi file from the original everything functions correctly but I get dumped into the movie about halfway through. If I use the clpi from the bd-rb everything is fine except I can't access the True HD audio (it says Dolby Digital and there's no audio).
The question is which clpi (or other file) should I look to modify - the original with the wrong offset or the new one with the wrong audio flag. I have played a bit with bdedit, but can never figure a way of editing the audio streams, and have heard of fixclpi but that doesn't sound quite what I need.

You'll need the original mpls file for the main movie, too. If it doesn't contain other m2ts files probably it will work.

Thanks - that fixed it using the m2ts / clpi / mpls original files.
**Everything is fine on a PC but on a Sony standalone the main movie video and audio are very jerky - quite strange as they are untouched.
