Currently if you get:
By default everything is converted to AC3, with 5.1 encoded at 448Kbs and Stereo encoded at 192Kbs.
Selecting "Do not convert DTS to AC3":
DTS HD or DTS HD Master --> DTS (at a high bitrate determined by source)
Selecting "Do not reencode AC3":
True HD and AC3 Plus --> AC3 (at a high bitrate determined by source)
If you set the 640Kbs option, 5.1 (DTS or AC3) is reencoded at 640Kbs, unless one of the above is selected.

Thank you for the clarification. Are there any plans to include an untouched audio (keeping TrueHD or DTS-HD MA) option? I can totally see not including that in the BD5 & BD9 size options but it would be great to have that as an option for the BD25 selection...thanks again for the information & great job w/the app...

Actually, it would be an easy fit for BD9 in movie only + untouched DTS Master Audio for example for films that are less than 2.5hours long. Provided they aren't grain fests.
...just clarifying, I realise this discussion has no place here, sorry about that :(

That appears to be a "file already exists" error. It's trying to rename the audio file to the proper output name, and it already is there...
How can I get around that? I make sure the WORKFILES folder is empty before starting

I almost forgot to leave positive feedback. I finally managed to make a perfect BD-5 (DVD-R) movie only backup of Wall-E. I had initially reported sync problems.
What I did: I loaded the 0115.mpls playlist into my standalone TSmuxerGUI. I stripped it down and left only video, english language and english subtitles, choosing blu-ray structure as output.
After that, I loaded the 0000.mpls of that new structure into BDrebuilder, clicked on AVCHD compliance, and a few hours later, BD-rebuilder gave me a nice, compressed BD5 in outstanding quality. No hickups, no sync problems. Works great on my Samsung P1500.

In the last week or so I have made about six copies, movie only, default settings using BD-RB v 18.7 with no problems. I do have a problem with image burn using dvd 9 dual layer media (verbatum dvd +r: 2.4x). The disk will not synchronize or finalize but will play in my standalone Sony BDP-S300 with no problem. Can anybody shed any light on image burn problem.

The disk will not synchronize or finalize ...Dunno what "synchronize" means, but ImgBurn is good and Verbatim's are good. I can only suggest, first make sure you burn at 2.4x and not 6x (set it to 2.4 in ImgBurn). Also you might try OPC (Optimum Power Calibration I think) which is an ImgBurn setting somewhere.
Beyond this lay perhaps a HW problem e.g. your burner or RAM memory.

Sounds more like a dodgy burner playing up. Verbatims hardly ever fail no matter what speed you burn them at...that or it could be bad memory, but since its failing at samepoint every time almost defo your burner is on its way out.

I feel like the bringer of bad news regarding audio issues on bd-9. I have just done a disc with a single audio track which was LPCM multi channel. This was converted into stereo. When you play the disc (which completed with no problems), the sound is only part of what should be there - no speech but background effects.
On checking the LPCM contained L C R channels, so it looks like the C was thrown away.
I have just used 'wav to ac3' and recreated the ac3 file. Interestingly it is the same size as yours but now with audio from the C channel. Remuxed the m2ts file with the replacement audio and it seems fine.

I finally got past that point in a backup, but it hasn't completed encoding the video yet, so I don't know if it will work completely.
I used mrr19121970's eacto, tsMuxer & ImgBurn Made Easy GUI from over on the AnyDVD Hi Def forums to make a BD structure with just the main movie and the english soundtrack. Since tsMuxer won't support the TrueHD soundtrack, I had it convert it to AC3. Then I ran BD-Rebuilder 0.18.7 on that BDMV folder. I first tried to make a movie only backup to BD-25. Even though there are not any subtitles in this folder I got the same error.

I then decided that since I already got rid of all the extra stuff I could do a full backup and accomplish the same thing. Only thing otherwise that I did differently was pick BD9 as the target. It made it past the audio portion and is now working on video.

Certainly not an elegant solution, but it may end up working. I'll let you know how it goes. If successful, I'll try it to a BD25 as I originally intended.

JD: I tried TSMuxer separately (Thanks to MikeyBK for sending me a picture on how to use it). It worked!!!
Here is the summary:
I process Movie Only, BD5, Good(Fastest) options with BD-RB v0.18.7. As before, I burned the disc and it was recognized as BD as soon as loaded; but then the player got stuck without playing anything ans showing rare signs in the player's display.
I took the BD "working directory" and use the .264 file and ac3 file and muxed them using TSMuxer with TSMuxerGUI 1.8.4. I burned the disc and Voila! it work perfect on Denon as it was working with version 0.17.13. The only thing I didn't added were the subtitles. Looking at the working directory it seems that subtitles are the *.sup files correct?
Here are the meta files:
BD-RB v0.18.7 (Not working)
9422
TSMuxer (Working)
9423
I will check also with PS3 and let you know but I'm sure (as I imagine) that PS3 skipping issues are related to my Denon play/not play issue.
Please let me know if you need any other file to compare.
PS. I used the tsmuxer.exe file of BD-RB v0.18.7. I copy over the included one with the tsmuxer GUI 1.8.4. Wrong. I forgot to do this. I will try tomorrow and let you know. I will also try to add subtitles if it is as easy as adding the *.sup files.
PS2. Analyzing meta files it seems the only difference is that you added the original chapters of the original disc. TSMuxer is still dividing every 5 (minutes?). Perhaps, is this creating the issue?

Good day,
i made tens of BD9 with megui/tsmuxer all of them works perfectly on ps3 (subs and audio languages included). The point for me is that i'am not able to make bdrebuilder functionning cause of the audio subs extraction problem. The advantage of using Bdrebuilder is that you make a reencoded BD structure with few clicks and further (when blank BD get cheaper) you can keep all the menus extras etc. But for now at least for me it's not working at all.

@jwgallardo
Interesting you'd report that. Last night I went through several exercises to see what might make a difference between the original method (used in 0.17.13) and the post 0.18 versions. One of them was using the .264 files rather than the M2TS files (that were also created by TSMuxer) for the final muxing into movie-only. There is a fairly large difference in the file size between the two -- so something doesn't seem to be jiving. As a result, I modified the routines to use the .264 files instead for the next release (v0.18.8). Since I have no PS3 for testing I'll have to wait and see if it fixes the problem. I'm making one more update later today (to look for audio delays in M2TS files). I should be posting the update later today.

This may have already been mentioned but in v.0.18.7 you are not allowed to choose your subtitles. The previous version did not have this issue. The code for selecting subtitles is not implemented (same was true for previous versions), it was supposed to be disabled. That's why it is grayed out in the SETUP screen. I disabled it so I could avoid more bug reports. I need to do some more research because I found that removing subs can have unintended consequences on menus.

Jdobbs: just made a small donation. It's not much, but it comes from the heart, bro.
Question: is there a hidden setting I can type into the rebuilder.ini in order to have the 5.1 sound converted to 192 or 160 kbps stereo during encoding? Just curious.

Having problems with one disc so far (as it was the first disc I tried). It's Wrestlemania 24 (no laughing please), I've tried both Full and Movie only. I get the same error on the same streams.
The main streams are VC-1, 1080i, 29.97fps with Multi-channel AC3.
Here's the log file of the latest attempt;

I have everything installed that is asked for, so I hope I have them set up correctly. The disc works in PowerDVD, so I know it's working fine (from my HDD).
Any help is appreciated. Also to let you know, my other way of encoding (RipBot264) also chokes on this disc. Could it be something weird with this disc??

Just to add to my above post. I saw in another thread that the problem I was getting was coming from x264. I did what JD said to do (running the command from the LASTCMD.TXT in a command window). I get the following errors...
avis [error]: unsupported input format (DIB )
x264 [error]: could not open input file 'C:\working\workfiles\info.avs'
I hope this helps shed some lite on what is going on, also if it tells someone what I'm doing incorrectly, please let me know as I would like to help as much as I can.
Thanks again!! :)

Hello Again From Ds9delta Just A Quick Thing I Noticed On Some Of My Recent BD Rips I Thought I'd Mention... Roughly 4 In Every 10 Bd's I Rip The Main Movie Would Allready Fit On A BD-25 Without Encoding If The Extras Were Just Shrunk A Bit One Is 25.3GB For Example Just Wondering (Hoping) Would You Be Able To Add An Encode Extras Only Option? In 18.8? Hope It's Not Too Much Trouble And As Always I Thank You For The Excrutiating Work Your Doing :thanks::):):):)

Or a re-encode main movie only, as there can be absolute hours worth of extras on some disks, and like the guy said, once you you strip out audio tracks some disks are only a couple of gig too big.

In 18.8? Hope It's Not Too Much Trouble And As Always I Thank You For The Excrutiating Work Your Doing :thanks::):):):)Which Part Of The "Bug Reports Only" Request Don't You Understand?

Jdobbs: just made a small donation. It's not much, but it comes from the heart, bro.
Question: is there a hidden setting I can type into the rebuilder.ini in order to have the 5.1 sound converted to 192 or 160 kbps stereo during encoding? Just curious. No not yet, but that's something I can easily add.

:)Is it a VC-1 encode (original)? Chances are that segment was encoded with alternating interlaced and progressive sections -- that seems to throw the directshow decoder(s). I'm trying to figure out a way (short of including additional proprietary software) that might be an option for those circumstances. I can easily keep the original and adjust for BD-25 encodes -- but BD-5 and BD-9 needs a lower maximum bitrate in order to avoid skipping.

So it IS something weird with the disc.. kinda figured it had to be since all the ways I have to "archive" these all seem to choke on this one... will have to save it for another day I guess.
Keep up the great work it is all totally appreciated by myself as well as a good group of other people on here!!!

Finally got a little time to do some more work. I've posted a link to an updated version of BD Rebuilder in the first post of this thread. Changes are:
- Corrected an error in which a stream with no audio
to extract could cause an error.
- Updated muxing command line in an attempt to correct
"skipping" issues with playback on PS3.
- Corrected an error in which "ConvertToYV12()" can be
multiply entered in an AVS file.
- Made some corrections related to audio stream
selection and PIDs used.
- Updated included X264.EXE to r1109.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.
Please limit all new bug reports to this version.
Thanks.

Hello there, I did a movie only back-up for Die Hard 4 (DIE_HARD_4_0_F3_DVD.ISO) ! Good Job. Works like a charme.
When I tried to do "The day after tomorrow" i ran into trouble. (older version and v0.18.8 (beta))

[20:40:41] BD Rebuilder v0.18.8 (beta)
- Source: DAT_F2
- Input BD size: 29,76 GB

- MOVIE-ONLY mode enabled
[20:40:41] PHASE ONE, Encoding
- Reached retry limit. Aborting.
[21:00:28] - Failed video encode, aborted
I installed and changed no settings. Stream reports: VID_00001 MPEG-4 AVC, 1080p, 23.976fps, 30.469,63.
I tried the original disk (AnyDVD HD enabled) and a ripped unprotected iso. Am i missing something ? I did so I edited this post and reported in 1132.
Thanks.

In the BD-RB executable's directory is a file called "LASTCMD.TXT". It holds the command line of the last encode attempted. Try copying the contents of that file and pasting it into a CMD window. That way we can see what is actually being returned in the encode attempt.

Yes, I missed that....
X:\Back-Up\BD_Rebuilder>"X:\Back-Up\BD_Rebuilder\tools\x264.exe" "J:\DIV\WORKFIL
ES\INFO.AVS" --crf 16 --output NUL
avis [error]: unsupported input format (DIB )
x264 [error]: could not open input file 'J:\DIV\WORKFILES\INFO.AVS'
Hope this helps. (it gets me searching this thread again with new keywords). !
You've got to be kidding me ! I thought I read the whole thread but I missed the last posts..... Is there anything you want me to try ? Or do you need additional movie/stream info ?
Thanks

Thanks for all the great effort and time you have put into this software! It is truly amazing and works well! But i have to report an issue if you have the time. I was trying to backup my version of "DEATH SENTENCE" (featuring Kevin Bacon) and it has extra features in 480i. The movie itself was encoded nothing but perfect. The 480i stuff had a grey/green slow-motion effect to it. And everything was blocky. I never had this while doing other backups like "stealth". I have installed everything as suggested by you. Any idea? What am i doing wrong?

due to interlaced vc1 - no cure, no decoders support it properly that are free.

I do have the latest Cyberlink decoders that shipped with with my ATI GPU. They cause audio/video glitches when ffdshow is disabled and i try to encode a movie with BD-RB. Audio is always way out of sync.

Since it's 480i you don't have to worry about its bitrate being too high.

I am sorry for being such a noob and you´re such a pro but what has the correct interlaced 480i VC-1 encoding have to do with a well known disc manufacturer? (VERBATIM)...and i was not even worrying about high bitrates...

The code for selecting subtitles is not implemented (same was true for previous versions), it was supposed to be disabled. That's why it is grayed out in the SETUP screen. I disabled it so I could avoid more bug reports. I need to do some more research because I found that removing subs can have unintended consequences on menus.
I agree that the previous version did have the grayed out subtitles in the SETUP menu, but however when you're on the STREAM tab after loading the blu ray folder you are able to take off any unwanted subtitles. This was on version 0.17.13. The newest version does not allow this so you're forced to include all the subtitles. I don't necessarily mind this but when I tried to burn The Mummy with the newest version with all the subtitles included in movie-only mode onto a DVD9, after toggling through the subtitles manually any time a character speaks the Egyptian language and you get the forced or written English subtitles you also get a set of French subtitles above even though the subtitles have been turned off. Now if you don't even toggle through the subtitles this does not happen. Still, I liked the ability to choose subtitles with the 0.17.13 version.

I think he means copy it verbatim (as in exactly as it is) not Verbatim (the media brand).

It didn't work correctly in 0.17.13 either -- the code wasn't and still isn't there to work properly. It may have removed them (because I mistakenly left it accessible) -- but it wouldn't properly update the output references... By the way this is about the 15th time I've explained this in this same thread (writer's embellishment purposeful).

The high bitrates are the reason you wouldn't normally be able to do what I just said, and if you read a few posts back where we discussed the subject you'd see why I said it.

I forgot I still had the WORKFILES directory for a failed Max Payne movie only BD9 encode. BD-Rebuilder 18.08 asked me if I wanted to continue, and I said yes. The rebuilt disk plays back fine in the PS3.
I will still do a full encode overnight to see if any other problems arise.
