It is six years ago today that JD bestowed upon this community the genius that is BDRebuilder. Not surprising considering he also gave us DVD Rebuilder years earlier. We are lucky to have him here and I for one am thankful for these gifts he's given us. Excuse me now as I surf to his site to make a donation. He richly deserves it. Thanks, JD for everything.http://forum.doom9.org/images/smilies/thanks-t.gif

I appreciate your programming efforts for sure (Lucky?). Sometimes I think I shouldn't have stopped programming after the Amiga (I remember being Buuuuuumed that it was dying; but that was then). I get that I'm one of the supporters that doesn't have to pay...but, man, Eddie...I mean, JD, your program is just Kick-[BLEEEEEEEEEEEEP]!!

So, a Winter Solstice Gift of 100. NOW FIX THAT Die Hard 4 Bug!!! Laughing! I Am totally joking, do it or not..your call. Thanks a LOT for doing what you Do...and supporting what you don't have to support. Us... Respect!

Thanks for all for the generous support. It's a pleasure being associated with all of you. I just finished watching my backup copy of "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and was pleasantly surprised when I noticed my server saying "you have donations".

As Tiny Tim says: "God Bless Us, Everyone" and as James Stewart says: "Attaboy Clarence". Man I love the movies...

I hope the joy of the holiday season touches each of you.

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest release of BD-RB (v0.50.02). Changes for this release:- Added a new hidden option. IVTC_METHOD
lets you choose between DECOMB and TIVTC
as the inverse telecining method. Usage is
defined in HIDDENOPTS.TXT.
- Added the ability to add multiple playlists
to the batch queue when ALTERNATE output is
selected. The feature can be accessed by a
right click in the queue area (if ALTERNATE
output is chosen). For sources previously
imported, the titles specified during import
will be used as output names for the MKV or
MP4 files. Meant as a time saver for those
who like to create MKV/MP4 versions of
series discs.
- Improved automatic audio bitrate ("*") for
MKV and MP4 ALTERNATE output. It now uses
a constant quality parameter for encoding
rather than a predetermined set of audio
bitrates. See ALTAUTOAUDIO in HIDDENOPTS.
- Corrected an issue in which added borders
and/or resizing that is specified in PINFO
may not be applied when reencoding from an
imported source when MULTIPROCESS is in use
with Directshowsource().
- Corrected an error in which required video
resizing mandated by PINFO for an imported
source was not being honored in X264/LAVF
mode. This could result in a distorted
encode and "stretched" view during playback.
- Added code to adjust for DVD imports that
have a horizontal resolution of 352 pixels.
That format is legal for DVD, but not for
the BD standard. It is a rare format, but
it exists on some discs.
- Corrected an issue in which deinterlacing
filters might be used on a 720p source.
- Corrected an error in which aborting during
an ALTERNATE mux, and then attempting to
resume could result in "ERROR in attempt to
mux (MKVMERGE)".
- Corrected an issue in which some movies may
have their audio length clipped when using
NeroAACEnc.
- Fixed a problem in which a 480i source might
be left intact, even when iVTC has been
selected and should be accomplished.
- Updated the included version of X265.EXE to
a newer release (12/22/2014).
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to
the latest release (r2525).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE
to the latest release (r2525).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Joy is within us All. We create it, realized or not. If we're aware of our thoughts, emotions and breathe...we live deliberately. No luck needed.

I found a bug with Import/Quick-Play Settings and Import... I'm testing for repeat reporting..

Hi jdobbs,

I have the dgindex PID error message again on Full Disc BD25 Backup by new German AKIRA Blu-Ray on MPEG2 Bonus material. The same error I have had on Ger. SHINING Blu-Ray. I thought it was fixed at 0.50.01.

I have tested it on 2 PCs (Win 7 and 8.1) with and without codec packs but nothing changed.

On Akira Blu-Ray the PID error message only comes on mpeg2 VID_00101 and VID_00102 but not on VID_00103.
Please see Pictures and mediainfo log files for the 3 mpeg2 files.

It would be very nice if you can reactivate ffdshow (on hidden options) for mpeg2 encoding again because it works perfect without any Errors on mpeg2 material.

many thanks and kind regards

I did a lot of testing on that.

I don't believe I've gotten reports from anyone else who has reported that issue. I even ran BD-RB against the file you provided me that was supposed to have the error -- and couldn't repeat it. That leads me to believe it must be specific to your setup (or your process). I'm not sure what else I can do.

The only time I could repeat it is if I forced a read error on a file.

@Ch3vr0n - Do you blank any stuff (using the Hidden Option that enables right-click -> Blank)? I find nearly all my discs come out undersized, but I also blank lots of useless stuff. I haven't reported this only because it's been a long while since I've done an untouched re-encode to prove it isn't me.

Hi jdobbs,

no my hdds are all ok. the files are correct backuped and have no read errors and so on. But I dont know why this error only comes if mpeg2 files indexed by dgindex.

If I did encode the movies which have mpeg2 with dvdfab it works and the mpeg2 files are encoded to mpeg4 format without any errors and the BD25 backup works perfect.

with at least bd-reb 0.47.07 it has worked too but the 0.47 I cant use anymore because it's expired.

If you cant find the error I must use, if the error message comes on, dvdfab for bds with mpeg2 material. :(

Tomorrow I can try it on my brothers Laptop... But I dont think it works because I tested mpeg2 stuff on 2 other PCs with same error.

Can it be that an AV/Firewall will block dgindex? On all PCs I tested it has Norton Internet Security installed.

Can it be that an AV/Firewall will block dgindex? On all PCs I tested it has Norton Internet Security installed. It's possible, I guess, but a lot of people use Norton, and I've gotten no other reports.

I'll add a hidden option for the next release that will bypass DGIndex/DGDecode for MPEG-2. But, honestly, it is a lot better to not use Directshow -- especially when doing iVTC (which is very, very common in NTSC MPEG-2)

Thanks Mr Dobbs for the latest updates!

One thing still bothers me, its a minor thing, more esthetic,
If I rebuild a BD from series, with multiple episodes,
If I remove the subtitles and audio I dont want, the links still show up when playing,
If I do a movie only backup they are really gone.
Is there a way to get rid of the empty links when rebuilding full series BD's?

Thank you, Greetings from Hans

Thank you, Greetings from HansUnfortunately you can't do that on a full backup. That's because the audio and/or subtitles can be selected programmatically from either BD-J or HDMV command sequences. So if their references are removed it might cause the disc to crash or fail. So BD-RB links the unused references to the first audio/subtitle that was kept.

OK, thank you for the answer,
I understand you have to dig too deep into the BD structure to make that happen, thats a pity, but no big deal, I can live with it :-)
Thanx!

31st December 2014, 04:41
I'd pretty much have to build a Java interpreter for BD-J, and the equivalent for command sequences -- and then the software to analyze their actions and automatically modify the code. That's way beyond the scope of BD Rebuilder.

Does the MULTIPROCESS option work with H.265 encoding or is this encoder already CPU intensive the it would pose no benefit?

Thanks for your response. Have a good evening.

Happy New Year! Jdobbs!

Please forgive me for my poor English! I'm Chinese.:D I have a confusing tsMuxer problem about ts muxing with "overlapped frame detected at position. Remove frame".:(

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2 2014 BluRay 1080p AVC DTS-HD MA5.1-CHDBits" the disc has several m2ts.

If I mux by adding playlist, the overlapped frames can be detected.:)

Network Optix tsMuxeR. Version 2.6.12. www.networkoptix.com
Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@4.1 Resolution: 1920:1080p Frame rate: 23.976

Decoding DTS-HD stream (track 2): Bitrate: 1536Kbps core + MLP data.Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 5.1 (DTS Master Audio)

DTS-HD stream (track 2): overlapped frame detected at position 01:43:27,210. Remove frame.
DTS-HD stream (track 2): overlapped frame detected at position 02:14:19,680. Remove frame.
Processed 203670 video frames
Flushing write buffer
Mux successful complete
Muxing time: 9 min 58 sec

If I mux by adding first m2ts, then join the other m2ts one by one(the same order as playlist), the overlapped frames CAN NOT be detected!

Network Optix tsMuxeR. Version 2.6.12. www.networkoptix.com
Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@4.1 Resolution: 1920:1080p Frame rate: 23.976

So the two results are diffent. Although it is not a big difference at all, I just want to know why.:o

Thank you for your great work and best wishes to you!!!

jdobbs
2nd January 2015, 18:51
When there is more than one part to a stream, the audio is muxed into each part. Since the audio has to match the video -- but doesn't necessarily align exactly -- sometimes a duplicate audio frame is found at the beginning of a part. When TSMUXER does the muxing from an MPLS, it knows that the audio is contiguous, so it can recognize duplicates. That wouldn't necessarily be true when you add M2TS files individually (they may not even be a part of the same playlist). I'm guessing the reason why you don't detect a difference is because the audio frames are very small, and the repeated frame isn't enough to be notice.

If I play the ISO-3D on my media player "Dune303D" the image is incorrectly (see pictures). When I change from 3D to 2D, then the error is gone.

When I Burn the 3D-ISO of a BD and play on my Samsung BD3D-Player, then there are no problems.

But the Dune303D is NOT defective, because 3D ISO made with Scenarist BD 3D render no problems.

Can someone help me?

Thanks and greetings from Germany

This was asked over at MyCE and I didn't have an answer for them. Is it possible to make a half SBS 3D MKV file using BD Rebuilder and H264? There is an option for this using HEVC, but he wasn't sure Plex could handle this type of file.

I don't see any reason why not. If player can decode SBS content with H264 codec

This is not a bug report but... The HSBS MKV's BD-Rebuilder has made for me play fine using Plex on my Fire TV Stick, and I use the TV's menu to manually select 3D SBS mode.
