I know that BD-RB can't re encode 3D discs at the moment but should it be able to rebuild the file structure? I have a 35gb disc but when I untick all the foreign streams it comes in at less than 25gb. Should it be able to do this? Trie the disc but just gets past the language selection and then does nothing.

After AnyDVD (7.0.8.0) rips the movie, I've set BD-RB to blank the last 3 segments using:

I noticed the original size is 45.3GB (Stated by Directory Opus). The above BD-RB config outputs 2.42GB. Those 3 parts I blanked are "The High Definition Experience.." blah, blah..and 50.44MB each. The other is 0.15MB. Looking at the final directory I notice the movie M2TS isn't there. I didn't set BD-RB to blank the movie or the extras, only logos! So I had BD-RB do it again..not blanking anything.

Now the output directory is 37.2GB. The movie and extras are there..seems to play well. I've now set to only blank the 0.15MB segment.
BD-RB is processing...
Process finished. Final size is 2.51GB. Seems that blanking that segment (stream) breaks something...or bug with BD-RB?

jdobbs, thanks for the newest version. I recently tried to back up a bluray but somehow the audio from the menu is tied to the trailer audio which I kept but I don't know why the audio is not there after I encoded. Unless it is tied to the second audio track which I have removed, but that couldn't have make sense because the trailer is the same as the menu's scene motion. The bluray is an asian bluray called The Four.

Any other suggestions? Manually editing the structure is not the most desirable solution.
I don't use that option (see below).
FYI. When I replaced the .m2ts, .clpi, and .mpls files with the originals, everything plays fine.

Braveheart Update:
Using the Movie and Menus (Auto-blank Extras) then selectively unchecking the extras I want produces my desired backup. It's the only mode that showed what I couldn't select to blank. Are you able to change that in the other modes? I checked with BD-25, encode High Speed. Now I'll use Highest, for quality.
Thank ~a lot~ for FORCE_NOENCODE=n!! I'm going to test more with that.
May I also suggest, when a SubProgram crashes that BD-RB _ makes _Sure_ that "tsmuxer.exe" is exited checking the process better? Even when the Info checker says all is good... I restarted a later than midnight process twice, that...come to find in other moemnts what the challenge was...I killed it, and got a good result when I was....more awake. :-D
What I noticed is that TsMuxer had locked a file in use even though BD-RB showed everything had quit. So the 2nd attempt, was futile because of that. I hadn't cleaned the trash, so the "locked" file (over a Gig) remained for 2 reset (sleepy) attempts...
Thanks.

jdobbs, was that question to me or rippn?
Don't think he was taking to me because my issue included multiple sources so wasn't source specific, but rather machine specific.
As for my issue, I found out what the issue was, turns out I was low on disk space. I thought BD Rebuilder would have a check for this but I guess it doesn't. Anyway, thanks jdobbs for this great piece of software!

Thanks. When BD-RB runs a TSMUXER task, it waits for TSMUXER to close before it will continue (or exit). If it looks like TSMUXER is hung, BD-RB will tell the O/S to terminate it. The only exception to that would be if BD-RB completely crashed (not a BD-RB error screen -- just an O/S memory dump or BSOD).

any idea what I can do?
To start with the easy stuff... are you sure that you haven't filled up your HDD again? It happens quickly with BD work.

I've updated the first post of this thread with links to a new release of BD Rebuilder (v0.42.01). Changes for this version:- Added an IMPORT function to the FILE menu. This
will allow you to import a movie from DVD, an MKV
sources, or an MP4 source. Handy for those who
want to make BD backups from their alternative
sources. I've found that using H.264's superior
encoding allows me to make perfect BD backups of
my DVD-9 sources to BD-5 or create MKV or MP4
material from a DVD source. It also allows me to
upconvert to 720p or 1080p using AVISYNTH rather
than the (sometimes) inferior upscaling of TVs or
standalone players. Note: MP4 & MKV importing will
require a source using H.264, MPEG, or VC-1.
- Added a new hidden setting, IMPORT_FOLDER, which
allows you to select a location where any interim
imported items are kept. The default location is
in the WORKING folder. Note: Items in the IMPORT
folder are meant to only be used as a source for
encoding via BD-RB since they may not necessarily
be fully compliant with BD standards at that point.
- Enhanced the audio selection process so that when
"Keep only one language" is enabled, BD-RB will
select the track having the better likely potential
quality (e.g. True-HD is selected over AC3).
- Corrected an issue in which very large timestamp
values could result in failure and the error
"CorrectMPLS() 00006 2403" during rebuild.
- Corrected an error in which resizing SD to 720p or
1080p in a full backup would not properly update
the MPLS.
- Corrected an issue in which 480p or 576p video
used as a primary might be mishandled. Note that
this configuration is illegal per BD standards but
is generally supported by players and can be found
occasionally in reauthored sources.
- Corrected an issue in which sources with pulldown
that were iVTC'd or those that were resized could
under certain circumstances result in subtitles
that were out of sync.
- Changed MKV output so no PGS subtitle is selected
by default at playback.
- Updated WAVI.EXE to a newer version. This should
fix possible exceptions when reencoding WAV files.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

does this mean that with the import option i could simply import the VIDEO_TS folder and turn it into a blu-ray? Will the menu be kept or will it just pick the main movie & turn it into a BD? The output structure will be BD?
** edit ** Nvm the second question the menu option indicates movie only :) JFYI, don't see the proper command for the new hidden option IMPORT_FOLDER or wich variables are possible

I'm also looking at an option that can import multiple sources into a single disc and another that uses some simple authoring modes to create menus for the output.

If i read the changes.txt file correctly and your post that hidden command isnt tied to the new import function but is kind of a 2nd working folder?
Say i want to import a DVD movie that resides on my D:\ drive, BDRB is "installed on C:\ with the working folder C:\Temp. For best possible speed should i use D:\Temp or even better a 3rd (external) drive?
Just wanna make sure before i try this, cause if i read it correctly it will use the IMPORT_FOLDER as a read only source and the actual encoding happens in the working folder?
** edit ** just dit a test encode. Audio totally out of sync & subs didn't show up at all. Looks like i'll need to play arround a little ^^

Thanks a lot jdobbs for this great update, now we just need PAL to NTSC conversion lol, but I was wondering is anyone having a problem getting BD-RB set to use DGIndexNV? I had it going on the last version and now I keep getting a run time error.
Thanks
Edit, this is what I get and then it closes everything.
Run-Time error '5':
Invalid procedure call or argument
but like I said, the last version was working and using it.

** edit ** just dit a test encode. Audio totally out of sync & subs didn't show up at all. Looks like i'll need to play arround a little ^^ No, it isn't a second working folder. It is tied directly to the IMPORT function and is used specifically for it. It is better for the IMPORT folder to be on a different disc than your WORKING folder. But it isn't necessary. By default (no IMPORT_FOLDER specified) the IMPORT folder is called "IMPORTS" and will be created in the working folder on demand.
When the DVD is converted to BD format it's stored in the IMPORT folder. Then when you run BD-RB against it, the source is the folder under IMPORT. Importing usually takes only a few minutes (on my system it is usually 5 minutes, but it can depend on how many subtitles have to be converted).
I've done somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 or so DVDs in testing, and I haven't had any issues with audio sync or subtitles yet. But it is new, so there's always a chance there's something that needs tweaking. I added the necessary code to handle PAL sources -- but I haven't done any PAL testing.

Error 5 indicates an invalid procedure call or argument. I'd need more information as to how & when you are getting it to identify what's causing it.

TSMUXER task was still active and BD-RB's GUI was still there, only the info about everything being "Ok" was the last bit of the log. I should have displayed the log, ah...well. TSMUXER hasn't crashed in a while with my machine. I was able to kill the Nonfunctional TSMUXER and have BD-RB, without exiting, resume...once I could delete the locked large file.
If it happens again, I'll share the log and more. :thanks:

On the new version of BD Rebuilder I also get the error message popup "Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument" when I check the box under the setup settings for "Use DGDecNV for decoding/frame serving" and attempt to point to the DGIndexNV.exe file.
After that the error message popups and then the program will shut down.
This worked fine in the previous version, no change to the DGDecNV version I'm using (its the latest/current version)
This problem is just happening during the initial setup attempting to enable the DGDecNV support.
I can bypass the problem by manually copying the settings from my previous BDREBUILDER.INI file, to set DGDECNV=1 and the paths to DGIndexNV and DGDecNV.
Then I can startup BDRebuilder normally and run an encode session using DGDecNV (now that its enabled) fine.

Never could get 42.01 to run because of the Run-Time error '5' problem.

Just did a quick test with DGDecNV(46sec clip). It worked perfectly. Might I recommend, making absolutely certain that your directories are precise within the Bd Rebuilder ini file ;) If even one character is wrong, it would cause a problem.
Jdobbs, do you think in the future releases, you could have a single folder in the archive? I extracted to my download folder, and had 10 files/folders to track down among a few hundred LOL! Not a huge deal, but it would be cool. I guess I should really check what I'm extracting before initiating though, eh? LOL!

The import function is a nice new feature! :)
I have been capturing HD cable broadcasts from HBO, Showtime, etc... with a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212, which records 1080i, 5.1ac3 to .h264, in either a .ts or .m2ts container. Unfortunately, BD-RB does not allow import of these file types (Yet?!). :(
Since I have been recording tv series episodes at the highest bitrate the Hauppauge allows, 15mbps, I then need to reencode them to fit the season on BD-R (once I know the total time of all episodes.) So control of the actual bitrate is important for this, so I can use multiAVCHD to combine a season of episodes into a Blu-ray.
Any chance of implementation? :D

I use DGDecNV it all the time. In fact I have it executing (doing a job) right now on my other computer. Error 5 indicates an invalid procedure call or argument. I'd need more information as to how & when you are getting it to identify what's causing it.
I get it right when I installed the new version of your program and when I direct it to the exe I get that error and it closes the entire program, I have tried several times, I even tried to use the exe from a previous version of DGDecNV and same thing happens, should I go back to the previous version of BD-RB and try it again?
Thanks
*edit, we are at DGIndexNV v2.0.4.2 correct?

Hahaha! Before it did extract to a single directory allowing overwriting the older files in a directory of the same name (Using WinRAR). I had a feeling NOT to do that for the new archive. I'm glad I noticed that feeling. :)

What version of DGDecNV are you using? Did that version work with the previous version of BD-RB? It looks like more than one person is getting that message... I'd like to find it and fix it. Was the new EXE installed in a different location than before or anything like that? Is the path listed in your config/INI correct?

I am using the same DGDecNV version (the latest one, 2042) and it worked fine with the previous BD-RB.
Its installed in the same directory as before.
Its just the initial settings setup checking the DGDecNV option the first time, after BD-RB requests to point to the .exe file where the error popup occurs.
The paths in the bdrebuilder.ini file don't get set at that time, due to the error occurring and BD-RB aborting.
If I manually edit the bdrebuilder.ini file to add the correct path to the dgdecnv files it can use it fine for encoding after that.
So this error 5 problem is apparently caused by something in the new bd-rb version just in that first time setup code for selecting dgdecnv usage that sets the paths to the dgdecnv files in the ini file.
For reference I am running Windows 7x64 OS with an AMD 6core CPU.

When does it stop? Does it get to the point where you are starting to browse for the file? Is it at start-up, or when you click on it in the SETUP dialog?
This is really confusing, because nothing changed in that code???

[Edit] In case anyone else runs into it -- it also affects loading and saving projects. I should have a new version up later today. As for the ZIP file... I've updated it on my site so it now only has one folder when you unzip.

With each update to rebuilder, I've been copying the config/ini file, and updating the DGDecNV directories manually. Guess I've just found it easier this way. I like to keep all the settings the same :p

Thanks jdobbs for the fix, looking forward to the new version. I found a couple places that were also affected -- like saving and opening projects... I'm surprised that didn't show in my testing. I must be getting old.

I've updated the first post of this thread with a link to a new release of BD Rebuilder (v0.42.02). Changes for this version:- Corrected an issue in which attempting to select
DGDecNV paths or opening/saving project files
could result in "Run-Time error '5'", invalid
procedure call.
- Corrected an error in which attempting to import
some files with short pathnames might result in
an error.
- Added the ability to import .M2TS and .TS files
to the video file import menu selection.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.
