Sorry to report that it still crashes with ffdshow 3137 and 31.03 BD-R. I'm going back to 31.02 to see if that still works.

Another glitch to report - Audio sync issues with titles that are split up into several M2TS files, for example those seamless branching theatrical/extended editions like Terminator Salvation.

In many of the extended scenes, the sound goes out of sync with the picture, then back to normal on the "common" scenes... and this is converted on a plain-jane Windows XP system, with 31.02, and happens on all Blu-ray players I have tested with.

I also had this problem on an earlier version of the program, with the movie Walk Hard.

Any suggestions?

I know that Sucks! Bd Re builder Usually will fail on that. I would suggest doing a movie only encode, or alt movie only encode. BD re builder will then list all of the M2TS files in order. (Do not use BD re builder to do the encode yet. I would then use TS Muxer and Join the M2TS files in the order the BD re builder Lists. That will then Join all the files into 1 M2ts file. Then you can load BD re builder again and do the recode useing the new Muxed file.

This seems to fix 2 problems. 1- any audio sync issues. 2- For what ever reason, some more noticeable than other. Bd re builder will 1st attempt to re-encode all the separate m2ts files first, then after they are compressed they will be muxed with what ever version of Tsmuxer that Jobbs is using. For some reason if you notice, there will be a freeze of a few frames at the end segment of the joined M2ts. Like I said some are more noticeable than others, but this can cause audio sync issues. I would wish that BD re builder would automatically Mux the master M2ts files first, then re-encode. This would solve a lot of issues.

Just my 3 Cents.

I do these all the time -- never had an issue.

By the way -- if you want to get the files in order, just open the MPLS with TSMUXER...

Please don't give "workarounds" in this thread. If there is an issue, it needs to be fixed, not finnagled.

Looks like BD-R 31.02 and ffdshow 3137 are working. BD-R 31.02 has successfully resumed the crf analysis from the point where 31.03 failed. Interesting.

Keep in mind I am talking about Movie only encodes vs A full backup.

the last time I checked BD re builder Will re encode every segmented multiple m2ts file first before at the end it will mux the compressed m2ts files together (final step) .

That at least what I have noticed for DVD-5/9 backups (Movie only)

Hmmm... it has to be something related to configuration, because I'm not seeing any issues. I hate it when something pops up that doesn't occur on my system or with my testing...

Are you using the 32 bit version of AVISYNTH?

@All
Is anyone else experiencing X264 crashes with the new release?

Sorry did not mean to be invasive about it, This was the 1st chance I had to post about it in over a year now. I dont like complaining about free software. I think BD re builder is a wonderful program. IT is well on its way of becoming the "next DVD Shrink of yesterday. "

I just found myself coming out with my own Work a rounds this past year.

No big deal.

Looks like BD-R 31.02 and ffdshow 3137 are working. BD-R 31.02 has successfully resumed the crf analysis from the point where 31.03 failed. Interesting. As a test, can you try replacing the X264.EXE included with 31.03 with the one in this file (http://techouse.project357.com/builds/x86/x264_x86_r1354_NAL-HRD-16-1301_techouse.7z)? -- I'd like to see if it might be the specific version I downloaded and included in the release.

Thanks.

Just downloaded your file and replaced x264. Restarted the transcode with updated 31.03 and it looks like the new x264.exe file has resolved the crashing problem during crf analysis. I will not know how it ultimately turns out for a few more hours.

Just downloaded your file and replaced x264. Will report back a few hours from now. So it's not crashing, then?

I've updated the first post of this thread with another BD-RB release (v0.31.04). Changes:- Replaced the included X264.EXE with a different build.
(0.31.04)
- Corrected an error in which could result in audio sync
issues. This was related to the depth of search for
pulldown in MPEG-2 and VC-1 sources.
- Updated the DirectShow configuration routine to check
all FFDSHOW settings and execute if any are not set
correctly.
- Added a new hidden parameter. "FORCE_NOENCODE=1" will
tell BD Rebuilder to keep the origina video intact, no
matter what size. Note that if you have "FORCE_ENCODE"
set as well, encoding will take precedence.
- Added the "--nal-hrd" option to the X264 command line
to provide better Blu-ray compatibility (as opposed to
depending upon TSMUXER).
- Add a new hidden parameter. "WEIGHTP=n" enables or
disables explicit weighted prediction on p-frames. This
is to counter several reports of "blockiness" on systems
that do not properly support it. Setting "WEIGHTP=1"
will enable the feature, the default value is no set to
"0" in order to avoid having to explain the issues. Note,
however, that the reported issues are in the players --
not the encoder or feature itself.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1354). Also now use a version that
includes the "--nal-hrd" patch.
- Corrected an error in which "576p" was not displayed
properly in the streams list when detected.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes. The only change from 0.31.03 (posted earlier today) is replacement of the X264 build.

FYI: I just tried a re-encode of a 16gig disc in BD25 mode (pointless, I know, but I assumed the source was > 25gig). In any case, the program rar in "no encode" mode as encoding wasn't needed; however, it was taking up all the ram I had available (6gigs). There was about 53K free. That's the first time I've seen this. Any thoughts? I aborted the process as soon as I realized that there was no need to rebuild this BD.

Using BD-R v0.31.04.

Added a new hidden parameter......?

Can you add a list of all the hidden parameters and what they mean?

i use all versions that are released but its good to know b4 hand if a movie that failed on a previous version would work or not b4 trying it as i could be doing another movie prior to getting the answer, dont you Agree!

with the new verrsion, will this fix the problem with EARTH_US? I don't believe anything has changed that would correct that -- what you're seeing there is a TSMUXER error (usually, but not always, caused by a bad rip). About the best I could do is try to provide a workaround of some sort.

Hi!

Since there are many times (as was the case with "Ice Age 3") that differing versions appear for different regions, perhaps it would be a good idea to request that all posters identify the Region of their problematics BluRay discs...

Hey everybody, Here is a puzzler, I have tried old 31.01 and new 31.04 and still no love. Clone Wars S1D1, rips ok, plays ok in Full Movie mode and m2ts mode with all audio & subs. It is VC-1 and Dolby Digiital 5.1 640K so its nothing exotic except maybe it is a branching BD with 8 pieces. It fails to even begin to extract the audio.

I am trying again in Full mode and now its working, at least untill it gets to 00096.m2ts. Has anyone successfully tried this one?

@ Jdobbs "It almost looks like the source and destination directories are set the same... "

I even tried to rename the source folder and it still fails. Next I tried all the usual suspects (Clown, TSMuxR.gui and even MakeMKV) and none of them recognized that there was even an audio track there to demux. I think maybe this is a trial run for the SW trilogy. I got these for my nephew and was gonna prevent him from destroying the disk, oh well win some lose some. I will post the results of full disk shortly.
thanks for all your hard work, worknstiff

This is the Season 1 or Volume 1 Disk of the Episodes shown on the cartoon network from which the Clone Wars theatrical movie was made. It presented no problems for me either.

cwh I did the region A version with no issues. The fact that it plays isn't an indicator of a good rip. Players can play lots of seriously corrupted files -- because they can just ignore errors and move on.

Ok, I updated the ffdshow using the link from the first page and am trying again.

I did get one error so far.

- [10:32:41] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00084]
- [10:33:59] Reencoding: VID_00084 (23 of 29)
- Encode failed. Retrying.
- [10:40:09] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00092]

it seems to be plowing through. The video in question VID_00120 is an extra, so worst case I can blank it out if it does not work this time.

I will also try another rip, see if that helps.

thanks cwh

thanks cwhIf it didn't stop, then the retry was successful. That's not a good sign though, as it indicates a system instability of some sort (unless the X264 process was killed for some reason).

I had the error occur with Meet the Robinsons.

The reason is the >255 characters for the path - an OS limitation.
You may want to try Clown_BD or MakeMKV to merge the many files into one big MTS before throwing it to BD-RB.

I didn't count the characters in your case, but maybe you could simply shorten your workfolder path to say C:\Temp\ instead of H:\FILES\APPS\BD-RB\WORKING\WORKFILES\
Good luck.

@bennynihon

The error is caused by TSMUXER, not BD-RB. I'm looking at a possible workaround, hopefully for the next release.

What disc are you doing? The only one I've seen this error reported on before is the European version of WALL-E.
