Jdobbs, you don't have 37.03 lying arround anymore do you if it won't impact coding to much. so i can rebuilt it anyway. The oldest version i have is exactly 37.04 where you added that code.
Here ya go.

Hello,
Just finished compressing Heartbreak Ridge (BD) to 720P and 1080P. The audio is out of sync on both. I would say by about half a second. Enough to be noticeable. BDRebuilder is set to output 448 AC3.
I'm selecting the DTS HD audio track (English). Tried it 3 times now. Same result.
Played the original BD structure back through the same player and the audio is fine.

I found a new bug in the dark knight!, is not related with the encode, everything is ok.
The bug is: when the feature "play movie with focus points" is ON and the disc icon appears on the left corner, after press the enter button (to view the behind the scenes stuff of that scene) is played the BTS of another scene...
ie: when i press the enter button in the movie when the joker detonates the hospital a BTS of how they filmed IMAX scenes will play.

I got an unusual undersize on Black Swan backup to BD25: it was 21,880,101,204 bytes, or 87% of a BD25, whereas for quite some time, all my BD25 backups have been consistently 95% +/- 1%, no more deviation than that. I always set the option to retain only the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders, and these were the only folders retained, but the original rip did have one additional folder, DCOPY, containing 2,089,247,182 bytes of data: adding this to the size of the generated backup gives a sum which is ~96% of BD25 capacity. I suspect the math allocating bitrates to the video streams was done prior to subtracting the room saved by dropping the (unusually large) extraneous content in the original rip.

Give me a day or two and I'll have v0.37.08 out.
No worries mate, when it comes to backing up discs i'm a patient man. I'm only doing full disc backups so if 37.08 only has movie-only mode i can wait some more. Proof of that is that i have several DTS-Express discs already ripped to my harddrive and ready to be compressed with a DTS-E capable BDRB.
How's it coming on that end by the way ? Any luck ?

Contents of the Log, INI file, and INF files?

@Megacubo
Hi! but when the traileres start (before movie) don't have sound, and the extras don't have sound to. The movie is ok. I believe that if you are making a BD-9 or BD-5, your problem will be resolved if you click on "Settings" and put a checkmark next to "Do not convert DTS to AC3(Blu-ray only)". The disc has more than one type of DTS (HD and SD) - and otherwise, this seems to cause some confusion...

Has the ability to convert a European (1080i50) Bluray to a US-spec bluray been added?
If not, any suggested work-arounds?

I Am Legend: reencode to BD25, @ ~18:10 into the .m2ts of the alternate version of the film (00006.m2ts), video pauses briefly then turns grey, audio continues uninterrupted, video resumes moments later but behind the audio by about the amount of time the video had been frozen and greyed out.
Log shows no problems with encode or muxing for this file:

Note that while video encoding of 00009.m2ts initially failed, it successfully retried, and the reencoded file shows no problems whatsoever.
Walking Dead, Season 1, Disc 2: reencode to BD25, @ ~33:45 into the .m2ts of the final episode (00101.m2ts), video pauses briefly then turns grey, audio jumps ahead twice quickly, video resumes moments later but behind the audio by about the amount of time the video had been frozen and greyed out. I had unfortunately already deleted the logfile prior to discovering the issue.
I am not overclocked. X264 has crashed and needed to restart during approximately 3 encodes since changing to BD-RB 0.37.07, and rarely if ever prior to that.
Could be a hardware issue on this end, but other than this I've been fairly stable for quite some time on this machine and using it with BD-RB near-constantly for months (two-pass very-slow earns its name on my outdated machine!).

This seems to be the codec with the fewest problem on VC-1. For Vista or Windows 7 -- select "wmv9"

Wow, I missed that somehow. Thanks, I'll do that.
I'm also running Windows Memory Diagnostic (http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp) (the tool is a bootable 32-bit program you run from CD, so can test 4GB RAM max, but otherwise it works on any system), in the extended tests mode, and it will run 9+ hours while I'm away, so if there is a RAM problem that should find it--I've had it catch problems with a bad stick in the past. If it's useful for anyone else, Vista (and presumably 7) have a version of this built-in. So I am trying to REBUILD the movie "DIE ANOTHER DAY" so that it would fit on a BD-R. I ran it 6 times and I keep getting the same error as posted in the above error log. I havent changed anything and before this I have been able to successfully backup more than 10 Blu-Rays.
Please Help. Why am I getting the "FAILED VIDEO ENCODE" error.

@rccland
Completely uninstall AVISYNTH, HAALI, FFDSHOW, and BD-RB. Then install them all from scratch. Sometimes other programs change defaults or intercept CODECs and INSPECT won't catch it. A reinstall will usually fix it.

Thanks JDOBBS. I will try your suggestion. As for install instruction I will follow the instruction thats posted on the first page of this forum.
Also just for a test I tried to re-build CASINO ROYALE and it worked fine. It worked fine before so I thought if I did mess up the settings then CASINO ROYALE wont work this time but it worked FINE :)
Just something to think about.

Just something to think about. Is it an AVC source like the one that failed? I'd guess not. That would mean it is using an entirely different CODEC, so one might work while the other might not.

Casino Royale is listed as MPEG-4 (AVC). No doubt there is another codec interfering as MPEG-4 (AVC) is perhaps the least troublesome to reencode. ;)

Yea DIE ANOTHER DAY is MPEG-4 AVC and as mentioned above CASINO ROYALE is also MPEG-4 AVC. Which would make sense since both BOND movies come from MGM. But as I mentioned before CASINO ROYALE WORKS FINE!

If bd rebuilder is anything like Dvd rebuilder, then it doesn't like dirty files. By dirty, I mean any imperfections in the files/code, that rebuilder doesn't like. Thankfully, my iHES108 Bd drive, doesn't do TOO poor a job LOL! It does have a tendency of introducing minor artifacting. But it hasn't done it since the firmware upgrade. Could be coincidence. Time will tell...

I have updated the first post of this thread with links to a new release of BD-RB (v0.37.08). Changes for this version are:- Corrected an issue in which resizing a source
from 480i/29.97 to 720p would result in an
TSMUXER "Non standard fps value" error during
the remuxing.
- Developed new routines so resizing of subtitle
streams is now done by BD-RB (rather than via
TSMUMXER). This corrects several possible
issues associated with resizing PGS streams.
- Corrected an issue in which opening a feature
in movie-only mode that contains IGS in the
main-movie stream could result in a "Selected
Source is not BD Format" error.
- Rebuilt the algorithms for checking subtitle
sources. This should eliminate the TSMUXER
error "Unexpected byte" and failure that could
sometimes occur while extracting audio/subs and
resizing to 720p.
- Corrected an issue in movie-only mode in which
"forced" subtitle (e.g. when foreign languages
are spoken) were not supported during resizing.
- Added support for subtitles when outputting to
ALTERNATE/DVD. Note that the conversion of
the graphics and integration into the output
stream adds approx 2 minutes to the overall job
for each subtitle kept, so it is recommended
you only select the subtitles you really want.
- Add a new hidden option "DVD_SUB_BACKGROUND".
It lets you select the type of background you'd
like for DVD output (see HIDDENOPTS.TXT).
- Add a new hidden option "DVD_SUB_COLOR". It lets
you select the subtitle foreground color you'd
like for DVD output (see HIDDENOPTS.TXT).
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1937).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE to
the latest release (r1936).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Thanks for the new release.Much appreciated. Writing the SUP/PGS handling routines turned out to be a little more work than I expected -- but they work well now. No more "Unexpected byte" errors from TSMUXER when resizing now. It also made it possible for me to automatically include subs in DVD output and fix the "forced subs disappearing" problem from TSMUXER.

Great work! BD-Rebuilder has definitely come a long way since the first time I used it (which it didn't work for me at that time). I would LOVE to see a program removal feature added to this tool so that I can remove unwanted chains from the final result (like annoying advertisements & such). In fact, I'd be glad to even pay for such a feature. That's how annoying those things are to me. I was unable to find a feature request area so I apologize for this post being in the wrong place.

I have a question related to this kind of issues with bd-rb, if i do a backup in fastest mode and the problem is solved, can i replace the files .mpls or .clpi in the highest quality backup? or this won´t work at all, due to the different sizes of the outputs?
Thanks for the new version!! seems like the problem with the Black hawk down will be solved in the next release, in the previous builds i see the error you mentioned in the changelog:
- Corrected an issue in which opening a feature
in movie-only mode that contains IGS in the
main-movie stream could result in a "Selected
Source is not BD Format" error.
Now i can do the movie-only backup, but i want to do the full-backup.
a question: What is IGS?

Thank you for the latest update v0.37.08.
I did a first test with the new subs feature on Alternate PAL DVD. The subtitles flash up for the duration of 1 frame or so only, i.e. something with the display time seems to be wrong.
The time stamps of the extracted sup from the original m2ts appear to be correct and the subtitle displays correctly for the BD.
I will occasionally try with another disc.

All the tests have been with NTSC, but that really shouldn't make a difference. If you look in the XML files for each sub, you should be able to see the start and stop times. Let me know if you find anything interesting.

The start times are correct, the problem is with the end times.
Should perhaps the milliseconds be a 3 digit number? Are you processing this in some other way? That XML doesn't look like it comes from BD-RB. The placement of all the values are wrong. BD-RB puts start/stop first and the offsets are last...
In fact, it looks like it is exactly backward and there's no way it could do that on its own.
Have you tried any other discs?

I did The King's Speech, R1, Blu-ray to DVD alternate output with this new release BD-RBV03708, and the subtitles came out perfect! Used the default settings so the subtitle colors are yellow, but are perfectly in sync and display for the correct length of time. Final output was 4.29GB, keeping the one audio track and both english and spanish subtitle tracks.
Well done jdobbs! :D

just wanted to say that the latest version still won't compress my HP5 in fulldisc mode
Interestingly, I did HP5 to full disc BD-25 quite some time ago, and it worked perfectly.
So I load BD-RBV03708, and it shows "Approximate Source Content: [ 5:03:47.266]. However, the main movie, 00000.m2ts, is not in the list of streams to be reencoded.
If I switch to Movie Only mode, then it is listed as well as the three alternative mpls files for 00000.m2ts ( 00000mpls, 00059.mpls, and 00060.mpls ) for a movie length of 2:18:14.452.
HP5 does have 14 listed audio tracks available for the main movie, of which two are English; one is LPCM 4608kbps and one is 640kbps 5.1 DD.
The largest listed stream to reencode in full backup mode is VID_00031, an MPEG-2, 480i 29.97fps stream, and the next largest is VID_00002, which is a VC-1, 1080i, 29.97fps stream.
So it does appear their is something not right.
If I click Backup on the above listed attempt, I get Target is too small to continue!

The XML was generated by BD-RB (or by one of the included tools), but hmmm... I took an earlier compressed and resized BD5 as a source for this test.
It is possible that I preprocessed the sups with BDSup2Sub when making the BD5 backup, because of the issue of TSMUXER with sups resizing, or just to shift the sups into the active picture area, I don't remember exactly. Anyway, the BD5 had no playback issues with the sups.
I will try again with the original disc.

I will try again with the original disc. I can assure you that the XML couldn't have been created in that format by BD-RB... odd, though that it exactly backwards from what BD-RB creates. I'm scratching my head on that one. I can't see how it could possibly be output that way based on the formatting I'm using to write the XML file.
I'm doing some checks to see if I can find a disc that acts similar to yours. The only one I've found so far was one that was doing animation... and it makes sense in that case because the picture is moved at regular intervals, and I ignore all but the first.

If I click Backup on the above listed attempt, I get Target is too small to continue! That's because BD-RB still looks for IGS on full backups, and 00000.M2TS (the feature) has an IGS stream. I've added a check so that if the stream with IGS is a part of the main feature it is processed anyway.
You probably processed it previously with a version from before the IGS check was added.

It is possible that I preprocessed the sups with BDSup2Sub when making the BD5 backup I'll also run a couple of SUPs through BDSup2Sub and see if it is something specific to the way it writes its output.

Avatar, yellow subtitles were completely natural. But white is certainly more commonplace if you ask me ;)
