If VC-1 is really the problem this should work (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1261658#post1261658) as long as you have powerDVD 8 installed, you can always trial it if you don't.

lordraider you are probably only one of millions out there hearing everything about mkv and nothing about BD.
You may in some cases be able to save some time by removing streams without encoding video and blanking extrsa (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144980) but it hasn't been tested by many yet.

Hmm, do you know of a guide or a step by step progress to use CLVC1Loader.ax ??? I'm stumped.
Cheers.

Setting cyberlink splitter and decoder to a higher merit with graphstudio may work too. But otherwise you can use crude vc1tweak installer (http://www.sendspace.com/file/chnntj) I made a little bit ago.

Which folder do we put this file in ? CLVC1Loader.ax?

i finished The incredible Hulk with BD rebuilder, everything went fine, no errors. Then i build an iso file with imgburn with udf 2.5. from the folder : "INCRED_HULK_2008_G51" which was created by bd rebuilder. When I mount it with virtual deamon powerdvd 8 starts and says : "There is a disc with an unsupported format in drive F:".
The content of the root is BDMV and CERTIFICATE just like the original bluray (which plays fine on powerdvd 8). What did I do wrong?
Anybody an Idea?

Hi Turbojet, sorry to be a pain and thanks for your help, i have installed your tweak vc-1 on vista 64 bit, now what?
I have tried an encode of the troublesome file with libavcodec selected for vc-1 in ffd and all that outputs is a grey still.?

Did you rip using default settings with AnyDVD HD? Some disks don't like you taking anything at all out of them.

virtual daemon is daemon tools?
virtual clonedrive is the only mounting software I know of that correctly mounts BD.

DaMacFunkin load any vc-1 m2ts into graphstudio and see what is being used to decode. If it's anything other than cyberlink loader, go to graph > insert filter > directshow filters > cyberlink vc-1 loader > change merit and set to preferred +2 and try loading the m2ts again and see if cyberlink vc-1 loader is decoding it. After you are done with the troublesome file(s) make sure to uninstall vc1tweak as it's pretty buggy for encoding a lot of vc-1 streams.

I indeed use deamon tools, i'll try virtual clonedrive :). Thx for the tip.

I decided to take it upon myself to see if there was a problem with some Universal titles after many unsucessful attempts at Wanted Region B (see my previous posts) so i thought i would try The Mummy 3 UK Release. The title keeps crashing x264 - some of the extras streams are VC1 1080i encoded.. Help!!!
I also had this problem. The easiest solution I found was to identify the extra m2ts files which won't work and then find the size of the largest. Change the .ini setting to only encode files larger than the above, and do as a bd-25.

I had a similar problem with a likely long label.
I've shortened the label with ImgBurn (under ISO/Tools) and it worked fine.

Ok, I installed virtual clonedrive and now the movie starts in PowerDVD, the intro works, the menu's are working, loaded an extra , it worked too. But if I try to play the movie or select a scene it won't start, the screen stays black. I don't know if it is a powerdvd issue or bd rebuilder did something wrong.
I tried to open the mt2s file with windows mediaplayer and it plays fine.
It is a Universal Title (the incredible hulk)
Jdobbs if you need some more info or a file for debugging just ask and I'll send it to you.

any more help on the below probs guys?
I'm stuck :(
I've updated AVISynth to the latest 2.58 version and tried again - still no joy, the same x264.exe crash.
- I've also noticed that when BD_Rebuilder gets to this point:
shouldn't Haali and FFDshow bee seen in the taskbar, as they aren't?
Any other suggestions please ? Thanks for your help, it's appreciated, hope we get to the bottom of this!

Biffa001: Check stream window and if it's VC1 try the VC1tweak I mentioned earlier today. If its H.264 or MPEG2 make sure you have latest ffdshow (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ffdshow-tryout/ffdshow_rev2787_20090317_clsid.exe?use_mirror=osdn) and in video decoder options make sure H.264 is set to ffmpeg-mt (although libavcodec may decode more) and MPEG2 is set to (libavcodec). If you've tried all these can you cut out a part that doesn't decode with something like dgsplit and upload it to a place like http://www.sendspace.com and post the link?
Also what drmih works fine without all the hassle if you are encoding to BD25 but if you are encoding to BD5/9 you might not want to keep all streams smaller then the stream that is causing problems untouched. I know with 300 it was 3x 1.8-2 GB 1080i VC-1 streams that if I kept everything smaller it would be larger then the BD9 I was aiming for. However if VC1tweak doesn't work you don't really have another option as far as I know.

Just done Quantum Of Solace full copy to BD25 but there was a problem with skipping through the movie when played back through TMT2.
By skipping im meaning every time you try to skip a chapter the chapter changes and the timeline moves but the movie restarts from the begining.
No errors were encountered or reported through the entire encode and the origional ISO plays properly with no issues.

Funny that you should mention that. I got the same error this morning when doing a movie only copy (BD9) with Pirates of the Caribbean 3. It first gave a notice of audio/PGS sizing issue and asked if I wanted to continue, then continued with the immediate error as you stated..

Had the same error and found a work around that worked for me had a few others do the same error. This is what I did and has worked 100% on all that gave me that error.
When I open the folder in BD Rebuilder I noticed there is an extra video file showing up under the audio so what ever file it was for eg 0002 I moved the file to another folder temporarily and told BD Rebuilder to open the folder again and now that extra file is not there, now click backup and you will get an erro "to be expected" in the BD log on the screen. Move that file back to where it came from and do not rescan the folder again and just click backup again and let it go. I've done this on about 5 so far and all work great. Not sure why it has worked but it has.

Hi jdobbs and every one.
Well i still had a few problems with some discs and even got the notice of audio/PGS sizing issue and asked if I wanted to continue, then continued with the immediate error 8 [08:25:13] DoEncoding() 00009 8.
So what i did was REMOVE ALL CODECS FROM MY SYSTEM. REBOOTED. REINSTALLED ONLY FFDSHOW V 2768, AVISYNTH V 258, AND HALI SPLITTER.
I`ve now had no errors at all and all working fine.
Hope this helps others.
Kind regards all.

This particular system has Windows XP (SP3), WMP 11, FFDshow, Hali Splitter, AviSynth, and BD-Rebuilder... nothing else, so it couldn't be a rogue codec... especially since I've done over 100 other movies on the same PC.
I ran it again for BD-25 and no problems... yet. :)
I'm thinking its just gremlins at work.

I think that the last version have problems of rebuilding. The film Let the Right One In stop the menu and have problems of sync with the audio with all Powerdvd. The same reencoding with 0.20.0.1 no stop the menu and its ok.
I return to this old version because a couple of films only it is posible to se it with Power dvd 7 and not with Powerdvd 8.

I'm getting a "audio PGC oversize" dialogue box appear after encoding the 2nd m2ts on "Animatrix Bluray" UK version.
I got this error on about 5 disc's and was about to give up on the backup's on them and then I tried a couple things and sure enough I found a work around.
A very simple one that has worked on all 5 that have given me the error. So now when I load up a folder I can tell before I run the backup and waste the hours that it's going to fail with this error.
I make the change and run the backup and none have given me the error since. Not sure why it works but maybe one of the future versions will fix it.

I believe that jdobbs had stated that P-I-P was not a priority. Is it possible for you to de-select the second audio track when the mpls listing is displayed before you start the backup?
It is probably possible to find out which track it is using txMuxeR or eac3to.
Just my 2 cents.

It could well be BUT I have not experienced any issues so far -except from those senior moments that strike me every now and then.
I have been rebuilding the Harry Potter set without any issues, and those are VC-1 video tracks.
Have those with problems checked on the Slysoft forums about possible issues with the discs' authoring or maybe BD-Java?
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, as I posted about doing Australia with 20.03, I haven't had any problems with this version at all, from when it was released til now.
Just was a bit surprised at how long Aystralia took on my system, which usually geta all movies done in the 8 hour range , +/- an hour here or there...

I'm new to BD-RB (just became aware of its existence a couple of days ago) so please bear with me. I read Furiousflea's guide and got the impression I can keep original TrueHD tracks by ticking the "Do not reencode AC3" box. I tested Full Backup with Nikita (US) which has two TrueHD tracks (English and French). I de-selected the English one by double-clicking the track in Stream window and made sure I had ticked the "Do not reencode AC3", then started Backup.
Some 8 hours later and I was testing the output. Wow! Menus work, pop-up works as well... but there's no TrueHD audio - only 448kbps Dolby Digital. Did I do something wrong?

I'm new to BD-RB (just became aware of its existence a couple of days ago) so please bear with me. No, nothing went wrong... the 'do not reencode AC3' is if you are retaining an AC3 stream, then you can check that option so that BD-RB doesn't reencode that stream since it's not really needed.
JDobbs has purposely not enabled the abilty to retain TrueHD audio as of yet... he wants to keep the betas without some capabilities to help speed up bug issue fixes if there arises a need.
Anyways, sounds like you got a successful encoding on your first attempt... great job...:)
Also shows how far along BD-RB Is already..

No TrueHD & DTS-HD are currently not supported although I have succesfully (works on my player at least) re-encoded a disc with DTS-HD still intact and working by seperatly demuxing the audio track and overwriting the DTS core track that BD-RB demuxed and letting it rebuild

OK, that makes sense. Thanks for the info! Here's hoping JDobbs enables THD (and DTS-HD) support soonish.

Yeah, it's a lovely piece of software. Made a donation already :D
Here's something I noticed a moment ago: As I disabled the English THD tracks as well as some of the subtitles, the output now lists two audio tracks, both French, and 7 subtitles, all English. The original has 7 subtitles, but they're all different languages.

That's interesting. How did you do the "injection", exactly?

Thank you, tekmobile! I'll have to give that approach a try.

I believe that jdobbs had stated that P-I-P was not a priority. Is it possible for you to de-select the second audio track when the mpls listing is displayed before you start the backup?
It is probably possible to find out which track it is using txMuxeR or eac3to.
Just my 2 cents.
The audio track corresponding to the PIP video track has been deselected with same results.
edit - maybe I mis-explained my problem - I'm not expecting the 2nd video track to work! :) Just that the main track plays with audio. A few discs with 2nd video tracks haven't played audio (not just the universal ones where there seems to be a quesion mark of a known problem there). Just reporting my findings, I'm not hounding for 2nd video track support I've learnt my lesson a while back that this is a beta.

I set a custom disc size 2GB smaller than a BD-25 this can be done by adding "TARGET_SIZE=21450" to the BDREBUILDER.INI file then in the program click the settings menu > options > custom target size (21450MB)
Then just started the encode as normal once BD-RB has extracted the audio/pgs streams for the movie and started doing the 1stpass I opened the movie m2ts in tsmuxerGUI and just selected the english DTS-HD track i wanted, click the demux checkbox and set the output to the workfiles directory of BD-RB this then overwrote the dts file that BD-RB extracted with the dts-hd that i selected.
After BD-RB had finished the encode it then proceeded to rebuild the m2ts file with the DTS-HD track I had demuxed to the workfiles directory did the rest of the disc and rebuilt the disc structure.
When I did this it was just a trial didnt expect it to work but the disc played back on my player with no problems states audio as DTS-HD MSTR everything worked perfect.
There may be more to it but it worked for me because if it was that simple im sure it would have been integrated from the start
TrueHD may be a different matter but only the very latest version of tsmuxer can do TrueHD properly (1.8.30 i believe)
You might have to sit in naughty corner when jdobbs reads this post ;) This would work most likely as DTS\DSTHD\DTSMA share same tag....TrueHD\AC3 share same tag. LPCM does not share same tag as AC3 which it would be encoded to so that wouldn't work at this time.
I'm posting this just so nobody wastes their time trying it with LPCM and please don't report any problems doing this here.

Yes its important that if you try this method its at your own risk dont complain to jdobbs if you get errors etc
