Full disc, keeping HD Audio, English audio\subs only. needed to set min m2ts to 150mb, since there is a file about 0.4mb that refuses to encode and is part of a larger mpls evidently. Ok. It's running now. I'll let you know what I find. How far into the disc does it fail?

Just had my first problem backup in quite some time. First test with BD-RBV02401, Die Hard, Region A, full movie, keep HD audio. Backup completes successfully, computer shuts down after completion( NICE!! ). However:
Tried with PowerDVD 7.3, burned to Sony BD-RE also for playback on Sony BDP-BX1, with similar results. Insert disc in computer, intro warning starts and plays the still image and the timer keeps on counting, but it never leaves the intro warning. Unable to select top menu or pop up menu. Thats as far as it will go.
When I play the disc on the BX1, it plays the intro warning and does go to the menu, but when I select play, the movie wants to try to play but the intro warning never leaves the screen. The counter starts to count, the audio is heard for about 8-9 seconds and then no more audio, and only the intro warning was ever on the screen and no movie video, only just the warning. I am able to select top menu now.
Special features will not play either, except the trailers, which do play but only after what appears to be a quick blank screen rapid run thru of all the chapters, and then the trailers start and play.
I'm not sure what to make of this one. I am starting over and trying it again with BD-RBV02302, just to see what happens with this version. I had not experienced a single issue with 2302, so I might as well see what happens with Die Hard.Let me know how it works with BD-RB v0.23.02 -- at least that way I'll know if it was something just introduced.
I've done quite a few encodes with this new version -- no issues yet. I have Die Hard, I'll try it later tonight.

Full disc, keeping HD Audio, English audio\subs only. needed to set min m2ts to 150mb, since there is a file about 0.4mb that refuses to encode and is part of a larger mpls evidently. Ok. I'm confused. It's encoding the last (largest) M2TS now. No error.
I see the M2TS (00254.m2ts) that won't encode. It has only one frame, and for some reason AVISYNTH/DirectshowSource() says it can't communicate with the filter. As you did, I set the minimum M2TS size to 150MB and it skipped that one. I'll see if there is anything I can do about that issue.

Just completed Die Hard with BD-RBV02302, and tested the image with PowerDVD and it works perfectly. I am burning to BD-RE now, and will test it on my BDP-BX1 and report the findings. It does appear something has changed in BD-RBV02401 that has caused this problem for me. If you would like, I can post the logs for both backups or provide what ever you may need.
EDIT:
I have tested the BD-RE and all menus and extras play back perfectly, on the computer with PowerDVD 7.3 and on the Sony BDP-BX1.

That's not the problem I'm talking about. jdobbs is aware of the problem with the small m2ts it's because it's only 1 frame long and avisynth won't accept it. You can get around that error by setting the minimum m2ts size to encode at 150mb, think he's looking into it. My post is referring to the problem when the last main movie m2ts is being muxed to an m2ts...
Comes out with this error.

Yes. Please post the two logs.
Definately not a bad burn or disc, since the image played back with PowerDVD does not work either. I tried it overnight again with BD-RBV02401, with the exact same settings and got the same results as the first run. With PowerDVD playing the image, it starts with the intro warning and will never advance to the main menu, and the time counter continues running.

Any able to successfully backup Batman Begins? or is there a problem with the secondary video stream?
Here is the log file code:

Any ideas?
Thanks,
KS I'm looking at this now. Does "Batman Begins" have PiP (I'm guess it does).

The logs:
Does "Die Hard" have PiP? Something seems to have gone wrong in this build, and I'm trying to figure out what caused it. If it is PiP -- then it is possible it may have something to do with the way TSMUXER handles secondary video.

No PIP. I am testing Die Hard 2 now, and it does not have PIP either.

Any chance it could have been a bad disc? I can't think of anything that changed that could have cause that...
Yes. Please post the two logs.
I don't know if it is related, but for example multiAVCHD uses 1 frame for menu files, usually <600kb.
Just a thought.

I have had 2 none working so far with the new version - as others have said it plays with a black screen or sticks on the menu. The m2ts streams are fine so probably something in the rebuild.

@JDobbs - as said by furious it does but I accidently removed the ac3 audio track that should be for the PiP. I'm thinking that might have caused it but I could be wrong. I'm gonna have another go at this tonight and report back tomorrow. If that fails I'll try the previous build and see. Thanks :)

I'm gonna have another go at this tonight and report back tomorrow. If that fails I'll try the previous build and see. Thanks :) I found this one. It was a stupid error on my part. It has been there for a long time, but only showed itself when I started creating TSMUXER output with secondary video streams in this release. I was using a fixed offset in one of the tables during CLPI processing for TSMUXER output -- that offset changes when you have multiple video streams.
I want to look at the "blank video" issue reported here before I post an updated version, though.

I can't imagine what could be causing this -- but it is obviously a problem. I've done several discs and they are all playing correctly. I just finished "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
Can you give me a specific disc, settings, etc. that will cause this? Usually something like this would lead you to believe that the CLPI or MPLS isn't matching the M2TS. Can you open up the output with BDEdit and see if anything looks odd?
I'll run my copy of Die Hard through, but I suspect it isn't going to fail for me...

I searched thread, couldn't find this error. I have only default settings in use and was going for full backup to BD25.
Saphire199 That means I am trying to find the window for X264 -- and couldn't. I put that message there to help identify the cause of the '50% GUI' problem.
What version of windows and X264 are you using?

Hello, I made a Full Disc backup of the Harry Potter: sorcerers stone US version blu-ray, the video stutters like every 5 or 10 seconds, I made a video of it here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5uCgILhzcA
the movie stutters when played on pc with ArcSoft player, on PowerDvd, played through the files on the computer, and on the ps3 burned to a BD-RE
Any ideas?
thanx!
I used v0.22.02

I can't imagine what could be causing this -- but it is obviously a problem. I've done several discs and they are all playing correctly. I just finished "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
Can you give me a specific disc, settings, etc. that will cause this? Usually something like this would lead you to believe that the CLPI or MPLS isn't matching the M2TS. Can you open up the output with BDEdit and see if anything looks odd?
I'll run my copy of Die Hard through, but I suspect it isn't going to fail for me...
My backup of Die Hard did not fail, but completed successfully. It just would not play past the intro warnings.
I am running Die Hard 2 now, and its structure seems very similar to Die Hard. I'll report the results of this one when it finishes.

Unfortunately it appears someone has "borrowed" my Die Hard disc, and I don't know who. Is there another disc someone can suggest that exhibits this playback anomaly?

Hi!
Do your original Blu Ray discs exhibit the same behavior when you play them on your computer, with the same software?

I found this one.
Thanks for the update. I'll put this one on hold until you release a new ver. I don't know were you find the time. The programmers I work with take forever with any bug fixes. At least you can iscolate them pretty quick ;)

I think I found it. It looks like I mistyped a value where the PID is being updated in the MPLS. The compiler accepted it as octal when it was meant to be hexadecimal.
Actually I'm amazed that it is working on my player... I would have expected something like that to jump out at me in testing with a big failure. It's pretty extreme. :o
I'll post a fix in an hour or two. I have one more bug to fix first. In the meantime, I'd suggest anyone using version 0.24.1 either hold off doing any more encodes until I post the fix or step back to v0.23.2.
Note: This issue only occurs on full backups. Movie-only should be fine.

Both discs I've tried are done to bd-9 full backup.
I have done Tears of the Sun. I'm just trying it at the moment on a Sony 550 - the disc loads fine but everything is 'black'. The studio logo, menu, film etc. The audio is there and you can move through the chapters. Using display information for the movie it's reporting the video as 1080/24p and audio as ac3 3/2.1
Exactly the same on the next disc I tried - Predator.
Neither Powerdvd or TMT3 will play them but you can play any of the streams fine, and they are reported as the correct size.
May be useful - I'm just checking the Predator original and the movie is MPEG-2. In bdedit for the 'new' version it's reporting the movie as AVC 1080p, whereas the original is MPEG-2.

hello from venezuela guys :D great thread! im new at ripping blurays, but i ripped yesterday my foo fighters bluray, and when i burn it today and put it on my ps3 it read it as bd-r bdmv so as data disc right? can you explain me what to do? or how to fix this? thx a lot!
btw i did a full backup to bd-25! thx in advance!
For the PS3 (US version).... You should either copy the full movie to a BD-25 disc only.. or copy it as Movie Only and be sure to check the block for "Strict compliance for AVCHD" and you can use BD9 or BD5 or BD25 discs.

XP Pro with SP3 - the version of x264 is the one in the tool folder of the new beta of BDRB? I am assuming that BDRB automatically uses the one it comes with. Would that be right?

I've updated the first post of this thread with a new version of BD-RB (v0.24.02). Changes for this version are:
- Corrected an error related to PiP processing in
which an error "CorrectEPData() 00006 2008" could
occur due to incorrect indexing into the EPDATA
table.
- Fixed a bug introduced in v0.24.01 in which full
backups would have an illegal PID inserted into the
MPLS file. This could cause failed playback (blank
screen with only sound or hang).
- Corrected an issue in which on some BDs that are
multipart movie-only BD-RB would incorrectly extract
a single component and cause a muxing error.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

@jdobbs:
Full backup of Die Hard 2 to BD-25 displays the same problem as I had with Die Hard. I see you may have found the issue and made the correction for this new release, BD Rebuilder v0.24.02 (beta). :)
I will retry again tonight and report back the results.
Thanks for your time and efforts to track this down.
