No, not directly. Subtitles on BD are PGS (graphic) format and an SRT actually needs the text rather than the graphics. That means some type of OCR has to occur in between.
BD-RB does have the ability to convert it during output to ALTERNATE formats (see the selection in the SETUP dialog) -- but the OCR is unsupervised, so there is usually some required editing after the conversion.
There are a few good independent methods for PGS -> SRT conversion. Subtitle Edit is a pretty good one. You can use TSMUXER to extract the PGS (to a .SUP file), and then use Subtitle Edit to perform a supervised OCR conversion.
Thank you Jdobbs for the detailed explanation buddy

Need some help troubleshooting an issue..
After extracting... I get a pop-up error from windows saying.. BD Rebuilder experienced an error [time] CreateAVS() 00000

I know i had issues that were self inflicted before.. but they seem to be resolved. And I have this error with this disc, and only this disc. Other movies (like Ice Age Collision course, etc) are fine. ANd I've tried freshly unpacking BD-Rebuilder again.
This error happens on each of my 3 OS partitions (each with BD-Rebuilder installed).
Should I post any log, or ini file?

BD Rebuilder experienced an error [time] CreateAVS() 00000 That shouldn't be the time... is should be the error type. But I think I've seen time there before... I'll have to check and see how that's possible.

I just tested that call and got the time also. I have no idea how the time gets embedded in the error code...
[Edit] Ok, I see it now. The location of the error isn't provided, so the 0000 is actually the error number and the location is "blank".
The problem is: That call should never be executed with an error of 0 (meaning no-error).

YES.... and seeing your question.. I just unchecked it... its now "Reencoding: VID_00600, Pass 1 of 1" i.e. it got past the error and seems to be working... It will be a little before it fully finishes (assuming it continues without error).
Could this be something with the way subtitles are done in this movie?
Has anyone done INDEPENDENCE_DAY_RESURGENCE yet?

Could be the way they are done or it could be something is missing in the subtitle in order for it to be recognized properly
I've done that movie, but I check for forced subs first and probably didn't use SupTitle on it

What I don't get is how it would cause an error in CreateAVS()? All that does is create the AVS file... it doesn't attempt the conversion.
@Mark_Venture
What language to you have selected as the default for subtitles? Are you using the default of English. I'll see if I can pick up that movie and give it a test.

English is the default language, and sub titles.
The INI I shared in Post #25199 (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1785246&postcount=25199) is what I'm using.
IF you don't already own this movie, don't buy it if its just me facing this issue!! I do have options to have a working back up. Since it ran with "Use SupTitle for Alternate Forced Subs" unchecked, I'm happy to just extract the subtitles using HdBrStreamExtractor and SubTitle Edit. Plus I have DVDFab Ripper which I've successfully used on this title. I mean I like BD Rebuilder better, and its the way I prefer to make my backups!! it gives me much better picture quality when I compare output of the same disc..

If you have the ability to run, and see if you get the same error as I do, that would be appreciated.. I'd love to know if its something in my system (although since I get the same error on a fresh install of Win10 & BD Rebuilder, as well as the installs on my Win 7 partitions, I hope its not my system)..

Just so you know, I ran the job using your INI and, sure enough, I got the same error. I've already identified what is happening, now I just have to put my finger on why. I also found out why it is incorrectly reporting the error as 0. I should have it fixed for the next release.

I have made numerous encoding attempts on IP Man 3 Blu-ray, but the subtitles simply will not sync ... first time I have come across this issue. The subtitles are in sync when playing the AnyDVD HD rip. What elements should I address in BD-RD to attempt to correct the subtitle syncing?I had this listed in my bug to-do list, and noticed something related in something I was working on today. Can you tell me more about this error.
1. What type of encode are you doing (ALTERNATE, MOVIE-ONLY, FULL)?
2. Is this a multipart source for which you are trying movie-only backup?
3. Were subtitles forced ON from within the streams list?

Just wondering.
Any other thoughts on BD Rebuiler failure for this film?Don't know if I responded to this back in October... but, I haven't forgotten it, and I've updated BD-RB so it will be more specific as to what kind of error you got in CreateAVS() -- I suggest you try that disc one more time when I release version 0.50.20. It may not fix the problem -- but it could at least help identify what is happening.
Also, can you tell me whether you had any subtitles forced ON in that source? That may be an indicator of a problem I found/fixed for the next release.

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest release of BD-RB (v0.50.20). Changes for this version:- Improved BD-5/9 full-backups. Sources that
do not use BD-J can be reencoded using the
full-backup mode, and should play on any
AVCHD compatible device. This includes all
imported and quick-play authored discs. A
small asterisk will display in the upper
left corner of the streams list next to
the disc title for any source/mode that
meets the criteria for an AVCHD compatible
full backup to BD-5/9.
- Updated code so that X264/LAVF can also be
used for ALTERNATE encoding. In previous
releases ALTERNATE encoding forced the use
of DirectshowSource (for resizing). Now
X264's internal resizing filters are used
when X264/LAVF is selected. This reduces
BD-RB's dependence on LAVF or FFDSHOW.
- Modified processes so the MENU_FORCE_QUICK
hidden option also applies to imports. This
makes if possible to create a menu even for
only one imported item.
- Corrected an issue in which the presence of
the MENU_ITEMS_PAGE hidden option would add
NEXT and LAST selections to a menu, even
though there is only one menu page created.
- Fixed an problem in which multipart sources
could cause an error 0000 in CreateAVS()
when SupTitle support is requested during
an ALTERNATE movie-only backup.
- Reinstituted the Donations popup. It only
appears once at startup for each version
release.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to
the latest release (r2744).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE
to the latest release (r2744).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Is there still a slower fps speed issue using X264 internal LAVF for frameserving with the latest build of X264?

Cuda, nvdec and nvenc dont support SLI configurations directly, they will see all your cards but as a developer you have to address them individually and its far easier just to hit one card with one job. DGDecNV is probably hitting card 0, the primary card.

DGDecNV is probably hitting card 0, the primary card. By default, yes, but the desired device can be specified with an INI file option. DGDecNV does not use SLI, nor does CUVID.

I'm sorry JD, but I don't understand... You say that you have included the newest x264.exe and x264-64.exe, and yet before you suggested using an older version (such as the one 5012) because the newer versions WERE indeed slower using LAVF, which I always use. But, you say here that it doesn't matter... I'm afraid I don't get it. Is this indeed the NEWEST version and you included it because it DOES run correctly now. Or you put the OLD version in as before so that there is no slowdown...???
Oh, wait a minute... I think I just answered myself... Do you mean ONLY when LAVF is selected THEN an older version is used, right...? So, it is all built in now and we DON'T have to go back and substitute the x264.exe & x264-64.exe from version 5012? We can just use it as is?

x264L-64.exe
are the old (faster) build 0.148.2665.0

I don't know the answer to your SLI GPU question. This is really weird. I tested the new version, and it seems that the problem has gone away. Running in X264/LAVF is just as fast as the DirectshowSource() encode (actually a couple of fps faster). That's good, right?
But then I went back through all the X264 versions, and I can't seem to be able to repeat the issue at all anymore. All of them seem to be about the same speed. I'm really confused now.
