Wow. You must be rich. Have you donated? :)
I did for DVD Rebuilder and as soon as you get HD audio passthrough enabled for MKV, then I can try out BD Rebuilder. If all goes well, you can bet I will make a much more generous donation then I did with DVD Rebuilder. I was "poor" back then :p

Hmm... it says "Ok" on both my 32 and 64 bit systems. Can you look at the HAALI/Mediasplitter folder and tell me what it says for the total size?
[Edit] Whoops. I just tested it again and realized that I didn't save after I updated the size on the 32 bit check. I'll fix it for the next release. If the folder is 2,434,588 bytes, you're good to go.
Yes mine says 2,434,588 bytes. Thanks. :)

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest release of BD-RB (v0.38.04). Changes for this version:- Corrected an issue in which end-times might be
incorrectly updated in an MPLS file for cases
where partial CLPI/M2TS playback is referenced.
- Added code to handle non-standard 1080p/25 and
1080p/29.97 sources and use "--fake-interlaced"
in the command line to make them compliant.
- Added a hidden option "CHECK_FFDSHOW". If set
to "0" BD-RB will continue running even if no
version of FFDSHOW is found. Anyone using this
option must ensure appropriate alternate CODECs
are installed, and bug reports will not be
accepted when FFDSHOW has not been installed.
- Changed routines so that UNC pathnames can be
used as a source (should make use with NAS and
other network units more compatible).
- Added an additional quality setting for hidden
AUTO_BIAS. Setting AUTO_BIAS=3, gives bias for
even higher quality settings (lower speed) when
"Automatic Quality Settings" is selected. See
HIDDENOPTS.TXT for more details on AUTO_BIAS.
- Changed the default values so that DTS and AC3
are kept in their original format rather than
being reencoding. That choice can be changed
via the SETUP dialog.
- Completed testing on FFDSHOW rev 3882 and HAALI
Mediasplitter version 1.11.96.14. These are now
the recommended versions of these helper apps
and can be downloaded from jdobbs.net. They are
also now linked in the first post of the DOOM9
bug reporting thread.
- Made improvements that should improve accuracy
of sizing.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r2008).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE to
the latest release (r2008).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.
Downloaded all from first post in thread. Ran BDRB As Administrator(I'm on W7 32 bit) then ran inspect.exe. Tells me
Media Splitter is not recommended version.

this issue seems not properly fixed...
i do a backup of the dark knight (high speed option) and when the partial playback of M2TS is referred (in the special feature "play movie with focus points") i obtain a black screen when the enter button is pressed in some points. In other scenes the scene of the referenced M2TS is played correctly but when is supossed to return to the movie the screen remains black for a few minutes before resume the movie playback.
Tested with TMT5.
Cheers Jdobbs.

You need to test it on a standalone. It has been repeatedly said by jdobbs that he does NOT accept bug reports from software players!

Yeah, i know but when i reported this issue the last time i played the backup in TMT5 and PDVD10, after that i burned to bd-r and played on PS3, showing the same issue...
I supose this bug is not related with the player because is a problem with the mpls reference times.
sorry if i'm wrong.

That is why a BD-RE is the best choice to test with on questionable backups. :p

JDobbs, if you can help
A Criterion Collection BD "Army of Shadows" I attempted to compress to fit on BD25. Full disc backup but the message pops up when the last A/V stream is ready to be re encoded. This is probably because resizing issues are affecting several of the previously recoded m2t's making four of them larger than the originals.
This also occurred using the previous version of BD Rebuilder. But the first time I tried to compress I used the standard output target size of 25 bd but ended up with an almost 2gb oversize but without the oversize message. So I adjusted the desired output down to 22170mb. This is when the oversize message appeared.
Comparing original uncompressed m2t files to the finished compressed mt2, for instance one uncompressed file [00320] was 3,732,522kb before and 6,199,944kb after compression. (See two attached images, the top one is original rip)

Just got back.
Ran the project again with the v.0.38.04 with "Use X264's internal LAVF for decoding checked" and there was no glitch.
Now I'm not sure what made the difference, the new version or BDR or having that version of x264 running?
I may run it again without that setting check just to see.

I believe the source disc has issues (DVDFab and AnyDVD HD both took an exceptionally long amount of time to rip), but I wanted to ask on this forum specifically about this message in the BD Rebuilder log as I've never seen it before. I have copied/pasted the log file and will attach here.
Thanks!

You might just copy and paste the log into a box offset by code tags for a faster response, as your attachment is pending approval.

Component "MSCOMCTLOCX" or one of it's dependencies not currently registered a file is missing or invalid
Any idea what is wrong?

@jdobbs, was a little apprenhensive to install the new BD-RB v0.38.04, especially because of installing all the helper programs. I uninstalled each one and reinstalled the new ones and everything is working perfectly. I have just finished the third encode and it is tearing through the forth, thanks for all the hard work.

Interesting. I've been running the new one for at least a few weeks now with no issues.
Well, the issue is reproducible here. I re-installed the new version, tried with another source, and it failed again. I resize to 720p. It crashes with the first attempt for CRF prediction.
Reverting to the former haali version cured the problem. Maybe it's only with my system? I am on Vista.
Would the new haali version have any significant benefit for the DB-RB application?

Looks like it worked, it installed. I'll rebuild my first bluray tonight.
BTW, anyone know of good BR playback software that will allow me to take a screen capture that I can export to a photo manipulation program like Photoshop? They used to have it (Single Frame Screen Capture) in Power DVD, but they did away with it!

Nothing significant to BD-RB that I can think of... and definitely no dependencies. I was just trying to keep a little more current. The older version is fine.

Richard You can play the M2TS files directly with MPC and do a pause followed by a screen capture. Then just paste it into MSPAINT.

Just use the MPC player that is in the tools directory of bd_rebuilder. Pause the image you want to save and select "save image" from the file menu. It will allow you to save the image on the screen. It saves it in whatever resolution the clip is in. You can save to a .bmp, .jpg, or .png. You can also do thumbnails.

Renaming the M2ts, mpls and clipinf files in the movie only to match the filenames in the original, I then pasted them into the backup of the full disk minus the movie, and managed to get a good working backup with proper size reductions in each stream.
Here's an image of the m2ts in this one to compare to previous attempts.

@sytyguy, my bad...I'm actually using MPC Home Cinema (http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/download-media-player-classic-hc.html) instead of MPC, and it has that option.

Let's all redirect our focus here. This thread has gotten so far from "bug reports" I have to dig through 20 "here's what I feel" posts to get to a bug. What does somebody's experience removing things with "Clown BD" have to do with a BD-RB bug report? Please move those discussions elsewhere. Open a new thread when you have something you want to debate or discuss.

Thank you, I installed Media Player Classic and it plays the audio. The only other problem I have with BD ripped movies is none of the players except VLC will display subtitles, and of course only Media Player Classic and VLC will play the audio.
There has got to be something I am missing here, darn it?
Thanks again.

I thought I posted you a very detailed bug report. While waiting for a response I then posted my experience with piecing together two runs of BD rebuilder to try to help in showing that without the main title, there weren't any aberrations and gross over sizing of the extras. Being naive, I thought it would be a help to you. The original bug report was just a few posts ago.... #12312. If there is a problem posting that as well, then I'm confused but I'll avoid doing it in the future.
I appreciate your efforts and hope you please accept my apology for p'ing you off and making your job more difficult. I intended to do neither.

I'm not p'ssed. I'm sorry if I came off that way. I'm just trying to get back to the purpose of this thread. Of course it didn't work, as the next post after mine was more-of-the-same. Sigh... :(

Has something changed in version 0.38.04 regarding LPCM audio?
I have tried a couple of movie only backups with this new version and it always reencodes LPCM into AC3,
even though both KEEP_HD_AUDIO and KEEP_HD_LPCM are set to 1 in the INI file.
This wasn't the case in the previous versions. The LPCM audio would be kept intact with the above settings.

Dunno how hard it is to do, but I would simply delete all OT posts. I think at least some here would start getting the point!
And feel free to delete this post too! :)

This wasn't the case in the previous versions. The LPCM audio would be kept intact with the above settings. Nothing has changed in the handling of LPCM or HD audio. What have you selected as your output size? Please review the FAQ in the sticky on this sub-forum. My guess is that you are outputting to DVD-5/9 -- and HD Audio cannot be written to those discs (they are too small).
