Is "LASTCMD" case senstive contents.

30th March 2009, 17:30
Incorrect. Look at the standard.
I would say you should get more informed before making such weird/useless/unnecessary statements.
This is me trying to understand :)
Sorry for confusing choice of words, I want to learn/understand why this peak limit is used?

@ Jdobbs
Encoder is working fine from command line. Here are three screen shots taken at different intervals.
I created batch file and ran that instead.

Does same thing happen when you enable option "quicker, encode for extras"
No, I'm not encoding extras anyway as I have min m2ts switch set on so I can preserve 60fps interlaced playback on my interlaced extras.
Try opening the AVS files with MPC and see what's happening. I haven't had any issues with the new version(s) -- but there are more things in heaven and earth than is dreamt of in my philosophy.
Will try this, thanks.

After restart it fails with batch file and bd rebuilder itself.
Anaylze only upto first 150 frame. Before error occurs.
Gone try with command line.
Never mind, As long as "LASTCMD" batch file remain in bd rebuilder.exe directory it works and no crash. You have to only put batch file inside rebuilder directory once every restart and run after that you can put anywhere and run it.

HWK

Yes I copy all the contents of LASTCMD.TXT to batch file and run batch file instead.
Contents of my batch file know
@echo off
cls
"D:\Documents and Settings\Haris\My Documents\BD-RBV02004\BD_Rebuilder\tools\x264.exe" "D:\TEMP\WORKFILES\VID_00013.AVS" --bitrate 17148 --level 4.1 --sar 1:1 --aud --vbv-bufsize 25000 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 1 --vbv-maxrate 35000 --filter 0,0 --subme 0 --me dia --bframes 3 --direct auto --weightb --partitions none --trellis 0 --analyse none --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --stats "D:\TEMP\WORKFILES\VID_00013.AVS.264.stats" --pass 1 --output NUL
pause
Batch file has exactly same content of LASTCMD.txt

I start to see pattern, After computer restart or start up. The batch file must run at least once within BD rebuilder directory where BD_Rebuilder.exe reside. Once it has run you can encode within BD rebuilder as well then. As long as you don't shutdown or restart computer.
If I don't BD rebuilder fails and command line doesn't work either.
Something like this come up "encode failed, retry". Message come up.
Also I only anaylze first 2000 frame with batch file. Then close batch file. Which in return works in BD rebuilder after and complete encode with in bd rebuilder.
* This tricks also work for movie only mode. Where before it couldn't extract subs and audio before.

Thanks for adding HD audio retention jdobbs. Big :thanks:!!!
I've tried a few encodes today but 2 or the 3 I've tried have resulred in "encoding failed" during 1st pass analysis of main move (h264 encoded material)...
Tried replacing the x264 exe for an older one from 20.xx3 release but same results.
Haven't included log as the error is just the generic "encoding failed, retrying...encoding failed retrying....."...Then failed again and automatically aborts in 1st pass.
I was having same problem. Try what I did in post #2259. Just make sure you replace batch contents with your own "LASTCMD".txt contents. Run within BD_rebuilder directory where main exectuable of BD rebuilder reside.

Bug Report :)
(A genuine one lol)
Checkout this image and the highlited bits. As you can see the audio is seen as 60 thousand odd seconds because it is trying to encode an TrueHD audio stream (instead of the core as it would if HD audio wasn't kept).
jdobbs I think you need to deactivate the process of forcing an encode of EVERYTHING when keeping HD audio.
I got around this by replacing the offending TrueHD audio stream with the extracted core and then at the final stage of BD-Rebuilding the bluray structure, cancelled it and swapped the proper TrueHD track back in.
This was for "The Godfathe Part I". I got some pretty nasty oversize on this, output was 24.1GB!!!
I'm doing it again with output set to 22550....

Can someone who has used this option be kind enough to share the proper location and exact wording on how to use this "do not reencode" certain size .m2ts files. Does BD-RB reencode the .m2ts files regardless of the size, but only mux the original files above what the setting size is? What is the proper "syntax" needed to use this switch?
Thanks.

Read the changelog.txt ;)
...Specifically, notes for v20.04 :)
To answer your question, basically anything below the minimum size is copied over "untouched" by BD-Rebuilder. It's a botch job way of selecting stuff to not encode and isn't practical with blurays with "extra" m2ts's of a large size. I'm not sure if you are aware but it is also helpful as a dirty workaround to avoid the crashing of x264 on hybrid vc1 interlaced\progrssive mix material which is occassionally found on extras but never on the main movie.

I Do All My Titles Do BD-25 However I Always Use Custom Size For I Like To Have A GB Or So Margin For Error (Specially On Some Cheaper Media LOL) Anyways That's My Question Will HD Audio Still Work Under Custom Size? And Thanks Again!!:):):):):)

I take it you are referring to my post a few up from this with the images embedded in the post. This is correct, there is a work around however.
1. Cancel the encoding at the aften\dosbox stage.
2. Use Tsmuxer to extract the "core" 640k 5.1 track from the TrueHD stream, rename the old TrueHD stream adding -orig at the end of it.
3. Place the 640k extracted stream in BD-RB work folder and continue the encode.
5. Once it has "completed" everything go back to your work folder and delete the 640k stream you placed there and rename the TrueHD track back to it's original name (so it has the same name as the 640k stream, deleting the -orig suffix you added).
6. Press backup again, chose to continue where you left off.
7. BD-RB will now just do the rebuilding stage and include the TrueHD stream as it should.
...As a side note, Aften HASN'T frozen ;) It will just be encoding junk though, and most likely take a HOURS to encode the junk due to the massive file size. I know this because last night I waited an hour and it was still on the aften encoding screen. But this morning I set a new encode to go over night with a TrueHD track and that had processed "succsessfully" by BD-RB.
...more just an FYI that last bit, that it will finish, but a complete waste of time obviously. jdobbs is aware and I'm sure he will release a new version shortly to not do the encoding of the TrueHD streams when HD audio retention is selected.

I've updated the first post of this thread for a new version (v0.20.05). Changes for this version:
- Changed the processing so that audio encoding is
not done when intact audio selections are made.
This should correct errors caused by attempts to
use nicaudio/aften against HD sources.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I have a Q9650 Quad Core and 8GB RAM running Vista 64.
I have some 9600GT cards in there right now am about to change them out to some GTX 295s as soon as the UPS guy gets here today.

This is a much welcomed feature. I for sure will be getting this program, once BD-R Media and burners become affordable enough.
I think these items are pretty affordable now, but I know for the masses the pricess have to get way down to DVD type prices.
Google is your friend. A 6x BD-R/2x BD-RE combo burner by LG you can get for $199.99 from newegg.com, but the sales ends today.
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136155
As for BD-R 25GB single sided discs, the cheapest I've found is about $3.29 each (I've seen them slightly cheaper at times). Obviously not as cheap as DVD media, but look at the capacity vs DVD-9. I get mine from mediamegamall.com
but pay a 20 cents more so that I can have the inkjet printable ones. These are Optical Quantum 2x and have had no issues playing back on my PS3 and not one coaster yet...knock on wood!

It looks like you're in the catbird's seat. Just copy your post into a new thread. I'm sure it will be useful.
Is anyone else having an issue like this?
I may change "Stricter AVCHD compliance" to include the 8.3 filenames and Level 4.0 (instead of 4.1) just to see if it has an impact.
Tried to backup "Into the Wild" on a BD25.
Plays fine with my PC, my Samsung BD-P1400, and no picture on my Panasonic BD35 (sound is good though).
Used v0.20.03, High Quality, Stricter AVCHD compliance, and Trellis Algorithm. Looks like I still have trouble with VC1 encoded video streams...
Using V0.20.04 tried Bolt and Transformers.
The BD-RB finished successfully but it wont play on Panasonic BD35
Menu is O.K and the sound is O.K, but there is no picture.
Works perfectly on the PC and on Sony 350 .

I've backed up about 12 movies thus far and this program has been great. Lately, I've been getting a lot of x264 crashes either at the beginning or at the end when it's trying to rebuild everything. Are my settings wrong or something? I'm not going to claim to know a bunch about this whole process but I have been following here for a while and have been trying to learn as much as I can. This is what BDRB looks like after crash:

HI jr08toy.
Try changing H.264 in ffdsow to ffmpeg-mt from libavcodec and retry from start.

it won't let me. it's libavcodec or disabled for options. I'm using rev2787 20090317. Is there a newer version I should be using?

Alright...
I installed the new update and tried to reencode WAR and I get the same thing:
Here is the Command Window output:
Aften: A/52 audio encoder

Found PCM audio: 8 channels, 48000 Hz, 16 bits, 6180.220000 seconds.
Warning: WAV file will be larger than 4 GB.
Writing WAV file...
input format: Microsoft WAVE Signed 16-bit little-endian 48000 Hz multi-channel
Unsupported # of channels passed to aften_wav_chmask_to_acmod
mismatch in channels, acmod, and lfe params
Error: Could not write to the standard output.
Movie only/BD-25 Keeping HD/Trellis disabled/Quicker encode for extras/ENG on both language options
Any clues?

Hi jr08toy,
I had the same kind of problems.
So what i did was REMOVE ALL CODECS FROM MY SYSTEM. REBOOTED. INSTALLED ONLY FFDSHOW , AVISYNTH V 258, AND HALI SPLITTER.
I`ve now had no errors at all and all working fine.
I`m running vista ultimate 32 bit.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.

BUG...
I'm doing a backup of Pirates of The Carribean, keeping HD audio. In this case LPCM. Here is a copy of my AUD_00001.meta file for 00001.m2ts (which will contain the main movie).
MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --demux --vbr --vbv-len=500
A_LPCM, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", track=4352, lang=eng
A_AC3, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", track=4353, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", fps=23.976, track=4608, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", fps=23.976, track=4609, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", fps=23.976, track=4614, lang=eng
Which is correct, however here is the contents of MUX_00001.meta...
MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --blu-ray --vbr --auto-chapters=5 --vbv-len=500
V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\VID_00001.AVS.264", fps=23.976, insertSEI, contSPS
A_AC3, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\AUD_00001_4352.AC3", lang=eng
A_AC3, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4353.AC3", lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4608.sup", fps=23.976, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4609.sup", fps=23.976, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4614.sup", fps=23.976, lang=eng
Which is incorrect, it looks like the HD audio retention switch hasn't worked as when I open the 00001.m2ts, instead of an LPCM track I am greeted by a 448k AC3 5.1 track. I have double checked and HD audio was selected, the same behaviour was exhibited on the sequel Pirates of The Carribean 2.
The only thing that I did that might not be considered "normal", was to cancel the encode on the 1st pass and restart it from where it left off (after demuxing).
EDIT
I think I might have found why this is happening...and the bug is quite simple...
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9229/82321741.png
If you look here, you can see 2 m2ts files. The 1st one in view is an EXTRA. The 2nd is the main movie m2ts, BD-Rebuilder is treating this 1st one in view as part of the main movie I suspect because it is over a certain size. But it IS an EXTRA. I can tell BD-Rebuilder is treating it as an extra because it is doing a 2pass encode on it when I have "quicker encoding for extras" turned on which should be 1pass. Also the m2ts's before this one that aren't visible in the screenshot were all encoded with 1pass as they should be. There is NO LPCM audio in this 1st one in view, so I suspect BD-Rebuilder is using the statistics of the extra's m2ts streams as the base for remuxing, and also as a base for setting the overall bitrate of the REAL main movie m2ts with this false assumption that the the audio streams are same.
This shouldn't be too hard to correct as the bad juju that is happening is purely a knock on effect from the incorrect assumption that this 6GB extra is part of the main movie?

This Problem always occurs, when using movie only backup which consits out of more than one movie file.
Same movie works fine when using DVD Size as target Size

Can someone give me an idea about the error:
CorrectMPLS() 00009 5
I have just done Mummy Returns Region B to bd-9 full disc and right at the very end I get this.
I can't see anything obviously missing in the structure.

Not doing too well today. I have done The Devil Wears Prada and everything was fine and I burned a bd-9. I played it on a standalone and thought I might have a disc fault as about half way throught the film the pictures freezes but the audio continues. I checked the image on the hard disc and that was the same, but as expected the original and rip were fine.
