Just a quick thought have you consider option show encoder. This way you can check what exactly encoder is doing during execution and may provide insight.
All the message is print on cmd window and may hold a clue to problem.

Are you asking Jdobbs if he has considered adding this option or are you telling me this option exists?
This option exist in bd-rb and look in hidden options

Thanks, will check it out for future encodings.
Edit: New issue. Encoding Avatar Collector's Edition (2D, the disc with the 3 different cuts).
Tried doing a movie-only BD25 of the extendedest cut of the film.
My first go I only kept the first full English subtitle track (#1). My hardware player showed a second subtitle track and it was forced enabled, but there's no Navi there. It's completely blank.
I checked the SUP file in BDSup2Sub and EAC3to and I was surprised that none of the Navi has forced flags on that track.
So second go I kept track 1 (the full English) and track 6 (Navi only) and set track 6 to FORCED.
This time on playback (in software anyway), there are 2 tracks and both are turned off and an empty 'forced' track is on by default... not the track 6 that I set to be forced. I haven't done a test burn, but I don't expect it to work.
I know Avatar has been a nightmare BD to work with for subtitles, but I can't understand the ghost forced track that is taking precedence over my manually set forced track. (No I don't want to hard code the Navi instead.) Suggestions?
Edit 2: Test burned anyway... works fine on hardware player. No idea why neither VLC nor MPC-HC recognizes the track forced by BD-RB, but that's fine for this disc.

JDobbs, my question is on 3D movies backing up as 2D -
I'm trying to make a backup of the 3D version of Planes to just a normal 2D movie - I had the "Process 3D Video source as 2D for backup" and the full disk backup went fine. The resultant BD25 plays fine on my computer and looks great but when I try it in my standalone player it complains and says it can't play 3D movies (which it can't and why I was trying to convert it in the first place) and refuses to treat it as a 2D movie or play it at all. Am I missing a setting somewhere that would take the 3D source and make it into a "real" 2D movie that my standalone will recognize ? Thanks

Thats not a BD-RB Problem. The Problem is the Backup of the Video on your HDD and the (3D) copy protection. If you want to watch 3D movies on 2D TVs or Standalone Players or if you plan to encode a 3D movie to 2D with BD-RB, you MUST set Options to emulate an 3D TV in your BD Copy to HDD Software before you backup your movie to HDD. After that you will have no Problems with your 2D standalone Player and/or 2D TV

I didn't think it was a BD-RB problem, I was sure there was a option I didn't understand in there somewhere
I was backing up coming straight off the 3D disk to BD-RB with decryption handled as it processed. Based on above I found the simulate 3D device there - that must be the missing checkbox, thanks !
With that checked do I also need to use the copy 3D as 2D setting in BD-RB as well or is it unnecessary or even harmful ?
thanks
OK, let me explain
1. Some disc only have 3d only version they achieve this by adding code in disc which tell player only to play in 3d even if you create 2d backup
2. In your case you need to defeat this check, plus make it 2d copy. Bd-rb does the second one for you by making 2d version, however check are still there.
3. What you have done in latest post is correct and you back in Bd-rb. Make sure process 3d source as 2d is checked. Basically you need both option enabled one in bd-rb and one in program decrypting disc.
4. Enjoy when ready

v0.50.07, Movie-Only Backup - Alternate Movie-Only Output (MKV Container, 1920x1080, 384Kbs DD5.1), Two Pass Target Size checked.
On the Stream tab if I right-click a subtitle and click "Turn subtitle ON", the subtitle shows [FORCED ON]. When I play the finished mkv the subtitle defaults to "OFF" and I have to turn it "ON" to see it. I'm trying to do the opposite - default "ON" and can turn "OFF" If I don't want to see it.

Don't know if it is a bug, or just something I don't understand the reason for, but I've found that if you enable "Quicker Encode For Extras", the order of the streams changes from order of the tracks to smallest to largest file size (I think). Is this intentional?

Yes, this is by design

Everytime I log into a forum or site its a complaint. SO I will start this issue with.
A) I've read some of the trivial comments, "this doesn't work" ones and hope I don't leave any like that
B) Bd-rebuilder is no TRIVIAL program, it took me 2 days to write a directory display program years ago and that ONLY displays file info!
C) I find it amazing that anyone should keep such a complex program viable on donations only (which I've not done in a while myself)
D) When it works its champagne & Fireworks time, When it doesn't where do I get a gun
So with this in mind, my dts to ac3 conversion problems have escalated into a Demux issue, bd-rebuilder fails after xxx hours then says failure and gives me a mux error, I JUST re-installed everything (again) and am running the may 15th version. my dts to ac3 help was not going anywhere so I manually converted the audio files - ran them through a muxer to synce the audio - planted them back into bd-rebuilder after caching the previous operation soad not to take another 22 hours of re-encoding etc... and managed now for 3 months.
My question here is simple... Is there a more efficient way to determine if Codecs, (av) Sync, Overbuffer splitters are all OKAY - the direct menu "inspect" feature was a good add-on (although you could have changed the message from "OK "to "what are you kiddin me, NOT INSTALLED" ) for those of us who have college educations but never read manuals, tabs, big blue error messages that cover our screens.
So if this fail I will report the bug, but in all likelihood its a small thing that brainiac (me) probably missed to check that always nails his Donkey's behind.

can you post your inspect results and maybe a screenshot of a m2ts file in graphstudionext

Uhhh... If you want to talk about that, perhaps you're looking for a DIFFERENT kind of forum...

Underworld Awakening (movie only encoding) I'm getting a problem with the subtitles gradually going out of sync.
Dunno if it's because the movie is split across multiple M2TS or not. I compared source/encode frames and they match up. I've ripped the subs manually using TSMuxer and compared source/encode and the time codes match.
Yet, the encode has subs that drift later and later, and the source doesn't have an issue. I'm open to suggestions. Log follows:

Titanic 3D to 2D:
Hello all. Would someone else whom has "Titanic 3D" check that disk 1 enables creating an MKV looking good around 1:07:11 and BD after importing? Make sure you remove or don't add the blank second M2TS to the end. You might have to use MKVMerge, I do. Use MKV Intact Video and whatever audio...then import it. I've noticed video glitches that aren't due to a bad BD rip. Using current version of BD Rebuilder. I don't have any use for 3D other than the full screen. I do have "Process 3D Video source as 2D backup" set. :)

I have them, unfortunately I am on vacation until Tuesday. However I can check after that.

I am not in any hurry. Best I've noticed an ooollldder version of TSmuxeR with current BD-RB produces a clean video but fails with other stuff, as I suspected it would. So, after a bit I'll check for an update. Anyway, during this heat wave, continuing with tests. Yup, I have tried with a stock config and version of TSmuxeR that came with 50.07. Ahh, I just noticed I left MULTIPROCESS on, bugger...that's next.

Windows 10 question:
I recently updated to windows 10, bd-rebuilder open up fine, but when I click on each segment and preview it, I got the BSOD about Nvlddmkm. I installed the latest nvidia driver as well. Can someone look into this to see if they are having issue and what the fix is? Thank you

Thats a driver issue. Doubt it's a BDRB problem. You have to realise, WinX is barely a few days old. Drivers may work (partially) on a new operating system when it comes out but they are NEVER fully compatible/stable. Driver problems such as yours are exactly why i NEVER upgrade immediately to a new OS when it comes out. I always wait a few weeks/months (or even until the first service pack comes out) before i update. This is to ensure that driver manufacturers have had sufficiënt time to make them fully compatible.
Since you know when it happens, you could simply use VLC or something to open the m2ts files instead of the rightclick preview function in the mean time until the nvidia drivers get fully compatible.

From Geforce Experience:
NVIDIA has been working closely with Microsoft on the development of Windows 10 and DirectX 12. Coinciding with the arrival of Windows 10, this Game Ready driver includes the latest tweaks, bug fixes, and optimizations to ensure you have the best possible gaming experience.

Best gaming experience for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, and Windows XP
They can claim all they want, not believing it for a second. If what you said is true: articles like this one http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/windows-10-how-fix-nvidia-driver-issues-after-upgrade-1513643 wouldn't exist. And this one is from the NVIDIA FORUMS: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/860152/geforce-drivers/official-windows-10-353-62-game-ready-display-driver-feedback-thread-7-29-15-/44/
nothing but crashes where the latest post states the older 350 driver works better than the latest one.
As the saying goes: the proof is in the pudding.

That's a decision I can't make for you, that's one you have to make yourself. But if you take into account what's being said on the nvidia forums that driver is anything BUT stable and only confirms what I said earlier.

3. What you have done in latest post is correct and you back in Bd-rb. Make sure process 3d source as 2d is checked. Basically you need both option enabled one in bd-rb and one in program decrypting disc.
I do not recall seeing such an option in DVDFab9. Is it labeled differently?
EDIT: Found it. It is "Enable 3D disc to be played on 2D player"

Consider it is very old and longer developed. It may very well be the case of player.
You can always check since it is included with bd-rb.

Titanic 3D to 2D - Update.
I found a work-around. Using current TSmuxeR (in BD-RB package) with TSmuxeR's GUI 2.6.12 and changing to "Do not change SEI and VUI data" setting (I'm not aware of what this means..) for video when muxing MKV to a BD directory. This makes it possible to make 2 BD directories (of both BDs) to "import" with BD-RB. So, I'm guessing that option is needed(?) and is what's causing the video corruption I noticed. Then, not really a BD-RB bug, per se...but might want to check it. IF I'm missing something please toss in a hint. :) Otherwise, yay, and with a sweet menu.
Update: BD Player played as through frames were being skipped. Next idea..

Perhaps because he doesn't want to buy the same movie a second time when you can achieve the same with a $2 backup and a couple hours of time

The Titanic 3D release is a 4-disc set: 3D (x2), 2D and bonus. In this case, the real 2D release is part of the package. Also, every 3D release will have a 2D version, either that or the 3D disc will do either. You don't get 3D without also getting 2D.

Wrong, take avatar 3d for example. That's a 3d only movie, not a 2d/3d hybrid. There are plenty of 3d movies that are 3d only, the Java code on the disc can be made so that it only plays 3d.
Not every movie has a 2d version on the disc or in the packaging. Getting 3d without 2d is not unusual.

The Avatar 3D release that I have has two BD discs, one 3D and one 2D. I guess I only manage to get the ones that have both. :D

I already shared that but here it is again. :) Titanic 3D is using full screen, 2D is letterboxed (Black borders which crop the image). Though I'm OKAY with that, I much prefer full screen when possible. I'm picky that way, haha! I'm also playing around with 3D stuff JDobbs has done. The 3D experience isn't all that "Wow!!" to me...so I'm not buying the hardware for it...and I want to keep Cinavia infected ( :) ) hardware out of my home as much as possible for a while.
Or..
Blu-ray 3D presents the film in 1.78:1 whereas the regular Blu-ray upholds the original 2.35:1 theatrical framing.

Too many postings in this thread, so sorry that I missed the posting where you shared the info.
Since Avatar was released full screen via IMAX 3D, which is how I viewed it in the theater (it was great 3D in the theater), I can understand wanting what was released. I will be getting a 3D projector in the future. I have the player. Unfortunately it is infected with Cinavia, though the Avatar release it not (since it is not Sony, Universal, Lionsgate).
Thanks for sharing.

Literally not any worries. It was a recent post which is why I typed that. I don't see 3D with those glasses like most. I see it all a bit distorted, and I haven't practiced enough to make the changes needed to view it as intended. So, it's not fun to me.

That is unfortunate. To really tell if the 3D is working for you in a theater is during an IMAX presentation, where they have the leader-type countdown in 3D. The depth is amazing.
I've not seen any home theater 3D yet.
BTW, I'm looking a getting a Samsung 3D player that is before Cinavia. There is one available on e-bay.

I don't agree that luck exists (another term for un/fortunate) in my highly vast experiences, since I was very small to now. As I commented, I could change my mind (and eyes) [through Buddha teachings] but I haven't done so, yet. So, 3D and I...maybe some time will be friends, but from a plethora of so much I want to do, it's not important. :)
I have 4 LG devices that are clones of each other and I've tested and checked them well. In very good shape, and well matched for what Slysoft is doing (I give a poo less about the programs/[Apps], that's what my Desktop/Notebook are for. I'm also skilled enough to replace parts if needed. I agree with Eddie Haskle. I ALSO agree with "Fair Play" idea totally!! Why should I have to buy it twice or thrice unless something is so outdated and gone from reproduction?? That's a hardware comment not software (BD). Nothing is gone from reproduction, they have vast archives. That older movie somehow made it to BD. Progress is cool, I agree, and my players are still compatible without that @!$%@ Audio Virus in them. I like Samsung, but my LG is also awesome. I also want locally made products again. Okay, back to thread...MP if need be. :)
