I've used the new version more than a dozen times without fault. Given the season(hot weather), I'd look very closely at cooling your computer better?

hey dude

the cooling is not an issue over here, the weather aint very warm at all! lol

I face error when nearly finish the muxing process, Anyone know how to solve this? (I am quite sure it is not the file's problem)

Hi

I have no problems with any other apps, and this problem only started since the latest build of bdrebuilder... I am not overclocking either...

is there any way I can go back to previous version to see if it will crash on that version? (it never did before you see)
;)

What stop code message are you getting?

What stop code message are you getting?

i don't have time to write it down before is disappears..

however, after turning my clock back, and running the previous version, I did get an error stating that the h.264 (or whatever the number was) had stopped working...

clicked 'close the application' and got another BSoD...

then you need to go into your advanced system settings and tell your system not to reboot on bluescreen

When you get this message it is most likely do to an unstable system ..... X64 Has Stopped Working ..... Time to look at your OC or what else might be causing your sytem to be unstable.

clicked 'close the application' and got another BSoD... Your system isn't stable. Whether you want to accept that doesn't really matter in the context of this thread. It isn't a bug and therefore shouldn't be posted here.

On one of my systems, I can't get bd rebuilder to work on any Blu-Ray with HD audio.... :(

AFTEN errors when encoding AC3.

Here is what I get each and every time:

- [00:01:04] Processing audio tracks
- Track 4352 (eng): Reencoding audio to AC3...
- [00:01:07] Processing audio tracks
- Track 4352 (eng): Reencoding audio to AC3...
- ERROR in attempt to reencode audio (AFTEN) [AUD_00506_4352.AVS]
[00:01:08] - Failed to reencode audio, aborted

I tried everything I could think of: Re-configuring ffdshow, Uninstalling/reinstalling ffdshow, haaali and AVSynth... no joy.

Inspect results seem OK...

- Windows Version: 5.1 [2600]
- AVISYNTH Version: [2.5.8.0], Ok
- HAALI Splitter: [1.9.42.1], Ok
- FFDSHOW: [3882], Ok
- FFDSHOW VC-1 set "disabled", WMP11, Ok
- FFDSHOW MPEG2 set to "libavcodec": Ok
- FFDSHOW AVC set to "ffmpeg-mt": Ok
- BD Rebuilder v0.40.0.10, Ok
- X264: Ok
- AFTEN: Ok
- FAAC: Ok
- MP4BOX: Ok
- WAVI: Ok
- TSMUXER: Ok

I compared the settings (ffdshow and bd rebuilder) with my other computer, they are exactly the same.

Both computers run XP SP3.

But... everything works fine on the other computer and not on this one!

I'm at a loss.

It may have more to do with the particular CPU's you are using and compatibility with the two versions of aften.exe BDRB incorporates.

The most ancient CPU's I've used and found workable results with current versions of BDRB are the P4-478 Northwood 3.2 and 3.0 . Maybe you should list what you are using, and if this is the problem possibly swap the CPU with one that is compatible?

This is very interesting. I actually just installed a new CPU on this machine, an AMD Phenom II X4 965. Not really an "oldie". ;)

And the irony is that I installed this new CPU on this machine so I could use bd rebuilder with it, since I considered it as too slow with its older Athlon II X2!

The other machine (the one which works OK with bd rebuilder) runs a Phenom II X6 1055T.

I wonder where to go from here. If both AFTEN versions included with bd-rb can't work with this Phenom II X4 965, I'm kinda stuck then, am I?

Something else has to be wrong. There are a lot of people using BD-RB with that or similar processors. I'm personally using a Phenom II X4 945 on one of my machines.

It sounds more like a configuration error. Can you post the contents of AUD_00506_4352.AVS?

I just crave for a "wrong config" explanation for this issue, since it could then be fixed easily...

Here's the content of the file:

Here's the content of the file:What kind of audio source is it (DTS, AC3, LPCM)?

A couple things to try:

1. Add this line to the "[Options]" area of your Config file:

AUDIO_DIRECTSHOW=0

2. If that doesn't work, delete it and try going into the FFDSHOW Audio Decoder Configuration utility and set "Uncompressed" to "All Supported" in the CODEC list.

I really appreciate the help :)
What kind of audio source is it (DTS, AC3, LPCM)? DTS-HD XLL
(Same as various BD sources failing to re-encode to AC3: The Incredibles, the Big Lebowski, the Frighteners..)
2. If that doesn't work, delete it and try going into the FFDSHOW Audio Decoder Configuration utility and set "Uncompressed" to "All Supported" in the CODEC list.Already done that - I dot it each time I install and setup bd-rebuilder (as per your instructions in the first post ;))
1. Add this line to the "[Options]" area of your Config file:

AUDIO_DIRECTSHOW=0

Interesting that it is only 264 frames...
MPC displays: [MTAudioDTSDsource: unable to open file "00506.track_4352.mts"] but seems to play the file nonetheless (the cursor moves).

Nothing is audible but I'm not sure if it's supposed to.The 264 frames only, well that's because it's just one of these countless small segments on Disney DVDs.... maybe it's a mute one!

What I'll do, then, is that I'll launch a movie-only backup so to be sure that the AVS file is actually supposed to have something audible... ;)

Just did that and well, the original segment does have audible audio.

As for now, yes. The extended edition individual titles are due to be released on August 28th (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Lord-of-the-Rings-The-Return-of-the-King-Blu-ray/19931/)--not sure if they'll be the exact same discs, but I wouldn't doubt it.

I have updated the first post of this thread with links to an new version of BD Rebuilder (v0.40.11). Changes for this release:- Added a "vKeyint" parameter to the ALTERNATE.TXT
definition file. This allows the user to specify
a maximum key interval (GOP size) for non-iPod &
iPad MP4 and MKV files. Setting to "Auto" will use
an interval of 10x the framerate (10 sec intervals).
- Made corrections to AVS entries when deinterlacing
or iVTC with certain hidden settings.
- Changed the naming algorithm for MKV and MP4 files
so file suffixes begin with "01" rather than "00".
- Corrected an error in which a secondary stream that
is a different length than the primary can cause
failure when used with MULTIPROCESS.
- Fixed error related to status of list when using
batch processing.
- Corrected an issue in which under odd circumstances
it was possible for a lengthy playlist (e.g. feature)
to not be selected or shown under the movie-only
playlist selection dialog.
- Corrected an issue in which secondary streams could
carry over the interlaced/progressive characteristics
of a previous encode. This could, rarely, result in
a secondary stream being incorrectly flagged as
interlaced.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r2208).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE to
the latest release (r2208).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I don't understand why the audio is missing, and have tried different settings. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the muxing.. I'll check "The Incredibles" more in some other moment. Anyway, I figured I'd try something different. So I ripped my "The Matrix" Blu-ray and remembering some comments about Picture in Picture I decided to try Full Backup. Everything shows as re-encoded fine (A/V). Information about who's speaking shows but no video and the audio has gaps in the beginning like it's trying to reconnect the audio. I didn't listen too far. Currently the program is set to use High Speed (BD25). I've set it to the setting as well. v0.40.10. Cropping is not set.

I'm also trying "The Matrix" on another machine, fresh install of 7 64-bit.. Same settings as main machine. Currently processing.

Edit: I see a new release. Am trying it with my main machine.

0.40.11 keeps failing now at the first secondary video stream. I'm trying different settings.

More than 8GB of RAM. 3X the space needed for data and CPU isn't over heating...very stable overclocking. The machine been used to backup several of my Blu-ray disks and plays some intense games without challenges from OC. I burned AnyDVD rip to BD-RE-DL and it plays as should with PowerDVD 12 and my LG player just as my original does...so rip is good. Any suggestions? Something I'm missing? Thanks a lot.

I have "The Matrix" running now. I'll report what I find.

Thanks jdobbs. Is it a Japanese-only subtitle issue so I could disable them and try again or not?

Can you play 00506.track_4352.dts with MPC?

Yes :)

So to summarize:

- Playing the extracted DTS (00506.track_4352.dts): plays OK, audible :)
- Playing the derivated AVS (AUD_00506_4352.AVS): plays with no sound and an error message (MTAudioDTSDsource: unable to open file "00506.track_4352.mts" ) :(

Does this imply that my issue with failing to encode to AC3 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1583796#post1583796) is not due to AFTEN but rather to AviSynth?

Thanks jdobbs. Is it a Japanese-only subtitle issue so I could disable them and try again or not? I'm pretty sure the problem is in the subtitle (PGS) itself. The error within BD Rebuilder is the way it handled the problematic subtitle. If you de-select the japanese subtitle the problem should go away.

 Yes. That's correct. Both DirectshowSource() and NicDTSSource() found an issue with the source -- and that leads me to believe that either the source or the configuration is somehow wrong. Unfortunately the source is out of my control, and I'm currently at a loss what configuration issue it may be. A couple thoughts:

1. Is DTS encoding enabled in your FFDSHOW audio configuration?
2. Do you have some other DTS decoder that is interfering with DirectshowSource()? Codec packs installed? It's significant that MPC can play the source but DirectshowSource() can't.

that leads me to believe that either the source or the configuration is somehow wrong. If by "the source" you mean the Blu-Ray, that's not the culprit: these discs that I can't process with the computer in question, were processe flawlessly with my other computer...I'm currently at a loss what configuration issue it may be. Mee too, since I really re-checked everything and both ffdshow (audio+video) and bdrebuilder are setup exactly the same on both computers.1. Is DTS encoding enabled in your FFDSHOW audio configuration?Yes...Do you have some other DTS decoder that is interfering with DirectshowSource()? Codec packs installed? It's significant that MPC can play the source but DirectshowSource() can't.I had been thinking along the same lines, and triple-checked that I had no thrid-party codecs or filters. I came to great lenghts to make sure that the system was "clean".

Mmmmh. That's a tough one. :( I'm at a loss, you're at a loss, well, I'm kinda stuck. :D

So my next move will be to multi-boot this computer with a fresh XP install, so to determine for sure if the problem lies with the config/software or with the hardware (which is still a possibility...)

I'm not knowledgable enough to know if an extension card (or its drivers) may interfere with audio decoding/encoding? Is it worth it to even try removing some PCI cards? (I have and IDE extension card and a Parallel port extension card).

Looks like I have a hardware compatibility issue on my hands...

Fresh bd-rb install on a fresh XP SP3 partition:

Are you using the same rip on both machines (from a network location, for example) or are you re-ripping on the faulty machine? It is a minor possibility that you may have a failing optical drive, which could produce a bad rip without giving an error message. You could eliminate this variable by copying over the rip from the good machine to the bad one, and see what happens.

Like I said, not a high probability of success, but easy enough to try.

Because I love Directory Opus as a file manager (do not like Windows...erm, Windows) and using an ! will force a directory to be at the top of an alphabetized list. I like doing things a bit different than "average". :)

JDobbs,
I have encountered a problem using version 40.11. I saw the posts about a Matrix backup that failed, and I had recently done a backup of the Matrix which gave me odd sized results, so I thought I'd look at that again.

My first attempt at backing up The Matrix worked, using 40.10, but the file size ended up being too big for a BD-25. Eh, oh well, it happens. So I decided to try again with a custom size of 21500, but since 40.11 was now out I figured I'd use it as well. It failed with this error

- Error in attempt to multiplex: MUX_00000.meta
- Can't open file: D:\BD REBUILDER\WORKFILES\VID_00000_2.AVS.1.264

So I rolled back to 40.10 and it works fine. Since 40.10 worked, I once again tried 40.11. Same error.

In summary, the backup completes with 40.10 and fails with 40.11. I have done it twice with each version, failed twice with 40.11 and succeeded twice with 40.10. I don't want to clutter up the posts with a ton of info if you don't need it, but I do have the output text files and config file if you need them. What info would you like?

That filename references the secondary video track. It looks like it was never created. The ".1." means you are using multiprocessing mode... you might try turning it off to see what happens.

The file is there, it's 433,593KB in size. Which is interesting as I did a "movie and menus" backup in edit mode and made sure everything was blanked except for the main movie. I can drag the file to PowerDVD and it will play. So it seems to have reencoded (I think that stream is 4GB originally.) It's such a long extra that it does not auto blank, so I manually blanked it. I will try again setting the threshold long enough to get that stream automatically and see what happens.

I keep "The Matrix" on my hard drive -- it's one I use for testing all the time. Are you saying there is a bonus disc or a bonus feature? Ok, I'm confused. I just remembered that multiple instances should be disabled on secondary streams now... I'll do some testing.

Oops, my bad. The file it was looking for isn't there. One with the same name, minus a .1 in the name, is there. I think it's the embedded secondary video, so it doesn't get blanked. It just looks a lot like the other feature video of the same time length. I kept the workfiles from the failed encode and I'm watching as it tries again to see if the same files all show up.

If this one fails as well I will try a movie only backup. Or whatever you want for a next step. :)

EDIT: I tried a Movie Only backup with 40.11 and it works. So my guess would be that something related to that Secondary Video stream is behaving differently in .11 than it was in .10. (Also, is there any way to blank secondary streams? The only way I can seem to get it blanked is with the Movie Only option, but that loses the menus too, right?)

Edit 2: I tried a Full Backup, changed the setting back to a target size of BD-25 and the encoding to Highest (just to shake things up a bit) and it still fails. The only way I can complete a backup of the Matrix with 40.11 is if I do a Movie Only backup. So far all of these attempts have been with multiple processors active. I will start another backup without the multi support and see what that does.

Sweet! I put a # before the MULTIPROCESS=4 and tried it with High Speed Option for testing. Nice. It functions well. I was wondering about the audio in some parts, as I didn't remember it "cutting" in and out like that in between images. I checked it with the original and same. They could have made that a bit smoother, but...Meh...it's cool. Now I'll do it at Very Slow soon. This is with 40.11.

Thanks J! I'll test "The Incredibles" tonight the same way. Another donation coming. I haven't forgotten.
