Found something interesting when wrestling with the Euro release of Robin Hood. I had set BD-RB 0.34.9 to keep only two subtitle languages, A and B. The disc contains two subtitle tracks of A and one of B. Doing a movie-only backup I first checked that all subs except A and B had been disabled by BD-RB. I then tagged B as DEFAULT, i.e. it should be displayed automatically when playback starts. But when I play the output, I can see that subtitle language B is selected - but there are no subs on screen. Switching manually to 1st subtrack for language A displays subs just fine. Switching manually to subtrack B displays no subs.

Version 0.34.10 wasn't out when I decided to do one more test with 0.34.9. I went to BD-RB setup and tagged the ALL LANGUAGES box for subtitle languages to keep. When setting up the movie-only backup, I tagged language B as DEFAULT again. Lo and behold, when I tested the output, subs for language B were displayed properly and automatically. There might be a bug lurking somewhere in the "Subtitle languages to keep" code. Maybe, perhaps.

addendum: ran the movie-only backup last night with 0.34.10 set to keep only those two subtitle languages. It works exactly like 0.34.9 did, i.e. subs for language B are not displayed, automatically or at all.

Yes, it times out. The reason is so people will not keep reporting errors on ancient versions of bugs that are already corrected. Experience has taught me well. What's the big deal anyway? It's free and there is always a newer version available at least a month before it expires.

I've looked through the forums on this issue which was helpful, but I wanted to make sure I was clear. I made a full backup of Star Trek TOS S2D1 and the copy was perfect except there was no audio for the PIP content. I noticed that the DTS Express tracks (2nd) had not been selected, but it appears from looking through the forums that BD Rebuilder is not yet able to process this audio regardless, even if I were to select these tracks, is this accurate?

There is no method of which I'm aware to backup DTS Express secondary audio (BD Rebuilder or any other way) except to to a full (50GB) copy using AnyDVD. I am working it, though, and expect to finish it soon.

Thanks for the clarification jdobbs. I am very impressed with BD Rebuilder, I expect you could make some good money should you decide to sell it when it's out of beta.

My hope is to try to keep it freeware, but that depends how well the donation concept works out. I may also be getting close to the world's longest beta. I released the first public version in Dec 2008! :)

I'd say keep it beta till the 2y anniverary. Then label it as release version 1.00 ^^

@ RB_Newbie: I've had 3 audio out of sync results. I also just had the issue on "That Evening Sun". I picked up "That Evening Sun" today because it looks like it might be good. Just wanted to let you know that it still has issues in movie-only. This one is different than the issue I fixed in v0.34.10.

Hi asked you a month ago about this problem, but you didn't answer. If i use this program a always have audio issues. Why? It happens with each film. Will new version help me? What do I have to do to convert the film into BD25 without any audio issues? I can send you my settings. I tried to convert in XP 32bit and 7 64X but there was no difference. I tried difference codecs(Haali,Avsinth,ffdshow)...

Hi! If i use this program a always have audio issues.

1) Don't you think it would be helpful if you clearly stated the nature of the "audio issues" you have experienced?

2) If you glance through the almost 10,000 posts to this thread, you'll note that there are NO unexplained "audio issues" - and virtually no "audio issues" at all.

I have been using BDRebuilder and also keep getting this issue but the audio only goes wrong afew chapters in. I thought it may be because I resize it from 1080P to 720P so I done it in 1080P and an output file size of a DVD-R DL and still the same issue.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and use all the files and setup as instructed on page one. Not going to knock the video quality though because its $£%^& amazing. Im sure it must be something with my system though. Would like to get it working

If after installed correctly you still have issues -- post again.

sorry for my bad english That shouldn't be an issue. Lots and lots of movies are divided into parts. The "how they come back together" is outlined in the MPLS file -- which BD-RB uses to construct output.

there is no big deal, just asking because i wanted to use a older version, that worked fine for me and
the program wont let me use it. thats why i'm aslking.

I understand your point of view when you say:

but other programs, like ripbot, clownDB, multiavchd and other nice and free program, dont work like your.
I respect your policy because you are the developer of this "fantastic" program, but i'd like to
have a version that "never expired".

Why dont you make also a "professional version"?
I'll buy it, like i think many'll do!

Just a idea, what do you think?

bye and respect :)

bye and respect :) Yep, and you've underscored exactly why I make them expire. It doesn't do any good for the project for someone to use an old "favorite" version... if something stops working it needs to be fixed -- and that never happens when people revert to old versions.

As for what other programs do... that really doesn't matter to me. I do what's best for this project.

The expiration will likely go away when I pull it out of beta, but while there I'm stabilizing the software I don't want old versions floating around.

@gamete;
if you were to open the STREAM folder inside the BDMV folder, can you play the 50214.m2ts file with Media Player Classic?
Can you create a simple Avisynth script, similar to one BD-RB creates inside the WORKFILES folder, for 50214.m2ts and will it play with MPC if you select this .avs file and choose open with MPC?

Yep, and you've underscored exactly why I make them expire. It doesn't do any good for the project for someone to use an old "favorite" version... if something stops working it needs to be fixed -- and that never happens when people revert to old versions.

As for what other programs do... that really doesn't matter to me. I do what's best for this project.

The expiration will likely go away when I pull it out of beta, but while there I'm stabilizing the software I don't want old versions floating around.

you are totally right
thx jdobbs for your words and your work!

All settings are normal and inspect reports everything ok. I'm getting pixelation in some parts of Prince of persia with version 34.10 and none with version 34.09. Just a heads up. it's only a 28 gig disc so i did a couple encodes it doesnt take that long to convert to a single layer BD

I think you're mistaken unless you've changed your quality selection. The only thing that could cause pixelation would be the encoder -- and the exact same encoder is used on both 34.09 and 34.10.

Wrong how? Some accompanying information would help. What disc? Encode log? INF file? Settings?

Audio goes out of sync after afew chapters. Always spot on at the begining and for the first 10 minutes then audio goes out of sync and the picture may sometimes freeze even though the audio continues. This has happened with TROTF, Hancock, X-Men Wolverine, Gamer, etc

I've updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest release of BD-RB (v0.34.11). Changes for this version:- Fixed a bug in which one-pass CRF encoding did not
work when the LAVF decoding option was selected.
- Added more workarounds for certain types of badly
authored sources that could cause audio out-of-sync
in movie-only mode.
- Corrected audio sync issues associated with movies
output to ALTERNATE movie-only formats. This fix is
related to leading M2TS file workarounds that were
implemented in BD-RB v0.34.10.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1722).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

@Jdobbs: you remember the issue i had with my twilight copy. It was also with LPCM. However 2nd or 3rd try (dno anymore) and i was able rebuild the disc WITH the LPCM stream. Maybe wavi.exe is being picky.

I just ran a job with LPCM 2ch audio. It worked correctly. I'd suggest you remove and reinstall BD-RB and all helper apps.

[Edit] One other thought. When converting LPCM, BD-RB uses AVISYNTH's "DirectshowSource()" filter. I would recommend you open up FFDSHOW's "Audio Decoder Configuration" -- and under the codecs list set "Uncompressed" to "All Supported" -- just in case there is no inherent DirectShow decoder for LPCM enabled on your system.

Hey jdobbs,

have a little problem with 8 Mile Bluray.
Encoding to BD-25, with BD 34.10

Only selected german language and all german subtitles, like i ever did.

But the final encode misses the german forced subs for the rapping parts.
The BD50 has forced subs for this parts.

I've been using BD Rebuilder for several months now, love it and it works great.

However, just recently I ran into 2 problems. One is a major audio-sync issue with 28 Days Later blu-ray, main movie only. I am shrinking it a DVD-5 and the audio us about 1-2 seconds behind the video through the whole outputted movie. The source is spot on and it takes the audio stream directly, it is a DTS-HD stream. I've tried it will all sorts of different settings from converting it AC3, so using strict AVCHD, so on and so forth. I've used both v0.34.11 and v0.34.10 with the same results. Any thoughts?

Also, when trying to shrink a whole BR (not just the main movie) of Pixar's Short Films Vol. 1 the result, when burned to a DVD-5, comes up as a data disc in my blu-ray player. Never had this problem before and I have also tried with all sorts of settings changed, always the same result.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. If you need any more info, let me know.

Thanks for an help!

The BD50 has forced subs for this parts. Are you resizing to 720p? That usually is the issue when forced subs don't follow through.

Thanks for an help! When you see it as a data disc, it almost always is an issue with the way you burned it (Imgburn settings) -- either that, or the disc itself is a problem.

I have 28 Days Later, and have successfully backed it up before. So I'll run it again and see if any of the recent badly-authored-source sync updates have created a new issue.

Thanks jdobbs. What are your recommended settings for ImgBurn? I have burned both the ISO that gets produced and the actually BD folder (just to see) with them both coming up as a Data Disc on my blu-ray player. I used ImgBurn both times.

I suggest you use BD Rebuilder to do the burn. It sets it correctly. Am I to understand from your post that you have "Write ISO with ImgBurn" set and are burning that ISO? If so -- it should be correct. Are you sure your player accepts BD-5 (it worked before)?

Any recent changes such as an update to ImgBurn, a firmware update to your burner, or to your player maybe?
