Ahhh! Found it. The audio/pgs files are being renamed (because they've taken the name of the MPLS during extract). It just happens that the .MVC file had the same name prefix as the MPLS -- and it got renamed too. The reason BD-RB tried to keep the original is because the filesize of the .MVC file was 0 bytes when checked (because it had been renamed).

It's fixed for the next release.

Great! Thank you for fixing :)

Thanks for the support!

I'm not really sure, but I'd be interested to know whether it happens on a standalone. Best guess would be a bug in PowerDVD 14.

Try outputting to an ISO (OUTPUT_3D_ISO=1) in movie-only mode and see if that makes a difference. Maybe PowerDVD has a problem with in-mux 3D? It shouldn't since it is part of the standard, but you never know. (note: the HIDDENOPTS.TXT file is wrong, it says OUTPUT_3D_ISO defaults to 1, when in fact it defaults to 0. I edited it for the next release)

Might take a few days, but I'll be sure and let you know ;)

And no. Thank YOU! :D

@emilio99

I tested BD-RB doing a 3D backup of an alternate angle. I had to go through about 30 discs looking for a disc that was 3D and alternate angles, but I finally found one. I had no problem doing the backup.

Historically you'll find that most reports of "Reading buffer overflow. Possible container..." have ended up being the result of a corrupt source. But since I hadn't tried any movie-only backups of 3D sources from alternate angles, I thought I should test it before coming to that conclusion.

I'd suggest that you might try re-ripping.

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to the most recent update of BD-RB (v0.50.04). Changes for this release:February 16th, 2015 - v0.50.04
- Added an option to keep play-all sequences
to the IMPORT settings. Rarely a disc may
contain a structure that can mask some of
the wanted playlists/PGCs that appear to be
redundant. This option tells BD-RB to list
all playlists/PGCs even it one or more may
appear to be a "Play All" sequence. You
can then remove or keep after reviewing in
the menu/title editor.
- Corrected an issue in which imported DVD
sources with audio delays could create sync
issues when a discontinuity is detected.
- Fixed an issue in which PGS subtitles that
are a result of an import of an MKV were
not working when attempting to remux into a
DVD format.
- Fixed an error that could result in report
of "ReencodeAudio() 00009 1801" on multipart
sources that have leading audio anomalies.
- Corrected an error in which attempting to do
3D backups in batch mode could result in
"Run-time error '55': File already open".
- Fixed an error in which 3D sources might
experience a "Failed in attempt to multiplex:
MUX_MOVIE_ONLY.meta" and "Can't open file"
when rebuilding.
- Updated the included version of MKVMERGE and
MKVEXTRACT to a newer version (v7.5.0).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I currently have a job about to finish. While it was reencoding audio to aac (MP4 output), it reached 115% of "Current progress". Not sure how you feel about that. I think that was the maximum. Because right when I attempted to capture the screen shot, it finished. JUST missed it lol. Probably just cosmetic, but I figured I better let you know, in case that could incur a problem.

If it was AUTO-AAC it doesn't surprise me. That setting uses a fixed quality output, and BD-RB can only guess at the bitrate based on some tests that I ran.

I even see it in the theater. 24fps is above the perception level... but panning left-to-right or right-to-left often shows jumpy movement clearly. A good cinematographer knows that and slows down the camera motion.

I have lots of original BDs that you can see the movement.

Yeah, that is what I thought... Appreciate all the input from you guys. Sadly, I guess it is just inherent in some of the original Blu-rays. You'd THINK that by now they would have had some kind of correction for that since to me anyway it seems rather primative to have a modern Blu-ray judder while just doing a NORMAL side to side pan for Goodness sake!

Why is it "sad"?? Isn't it...what it is because of Camera is moved too quick...and it happens? It does look funny to the eye(s), though. :)

This is for 50.01 to 04...as much as I've tested so far.

Ghostbusters revisit... Using DGIndexNV 2048 or 2047 it fails. LAVF..it goes well.

Yeah...it's from the Double Pack at Amazon. Pretty cool to revisit..or watch anew. :) I really liked Dan's personal interview..and what he shares with his siblings. Same subjects I've enjoyed all my life and continue to do. There are more extras, but I don't wait to "spoil" (slime?) anything. ;)

I am TOTALLY Cool with a "Donate" button with a Neat graphic! It's an attention getter..when done well.

I strongly agree with this. I mentioned this before a while back that you indeed SHOULD have a MUCH more clear and obvious 'DONATE' button. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that; it's just a matter like everything else where people are concerned, we ALL need to be reminded (by a nice pretty looking button in this case :)) to do bloody EVERYTHING. So, please, by all means, do add a nice, attractive looking DONATE button!

This is absolutely NOTHING wrong with making it more clearly available for people to notice it and (passively) to remind them.

"Do it now JD... You are starting to feel sleepy... It's starting to sound good to you... Many lives will be saved... God will smile upon you... Do it now..." :D

Well, what I mean is that to me it is 'sad' because either as you say it is camera error, which by now with any quality film should NOT happen. Or, if it is something inherent and unavoidable with any Blu-ray no matter what, then it is sad that with all this sharp new technology, no one has found a solution to that yet... It just seems like a rather primitive thing to have happen in modern Blu-rays.

JD might not dig this being rehashed again. I'll keep my reply short.. Needing to be reminded is very different than liking to be. Apple iOS does a lot of forced reminders until or unless those reminders are disabled. I'd prefer them disabled until the USER...enables. I prefer to Think for Myself than go into Auto-mode. :) If you're in auto-mode...you're very suggestible...or easily dictated to. Haskell is aware. Wink!

No....Camera user is aware, not the Camera. That's what JD typed. :)

Absolutely... I'm not commenting on being 'reminded' that there is a new version of the program. I am commenting that there should be a nice, noticeable 'Donation' button that will always be there to remind us IF we wish to send a donation. That way the hundreds of people using and enjoying the program will see it when using it and perhaps think, 'Oh yeah... I should send JD a little something'

That was commented about in my last reply, as well as my suggestion to JD's original question. :)

@all
I have a problem with Batman Begins BluRay. I backed up with BDRebuilder no error, but the movie does not start. I see WB logo and then when it goes for the movie, the Panasonic home cinema crash... I tested a movie only backup and it works.
The movie has a PiP feature.
To make it stranger it works normally on PC with PowerDVD.
Anyone has a similar experience or idea abou the problem ?
Thanks

1. You didn't post a Log & config...
2. If the Warner Bros logo shows, then the movie has started...? Or, does the WB logo show before the Movie attached WB logo shows?
3. Several possibilities..
4. I agree with JD, PowerDVD is a program that is more open to "bypassing" errors than a Standalone Player will usually. This has to do with experience.

1 - I attach the log.
2 - The WB logo shows before the start of the movie. Itīs a different file

I tried reading the original movie and it also does not play on my Panasonic player. I tried to rebuild it with BDRebuilder without reencode and also does not work.

Very strange. Can it be related to the PiP ?
Also the BDrebuilder 00000.m2ts (main movie) itīs around 200mb bigger than the original one.

Anyone have a idea about this problem ?

Well if the original doesn't play either, there's only 1 thing left to do. Test the original on a different standalone, if it doesn't work on that one either then you've got a defective original disc and logically the backup won't work either. Bdrb only processes what you feed it. Of the source is bad then the output will be too.

And no it's not pip related, if not very unlikely. Bdrb processes my pip discs just fine.

I tested in a different player and it works. So the question is why does not work on the Panasonic ?
Do anyone knows a way to check the commands played during the bluray playback (i know bdedit) ?
Anyone complained about similar bad Panasonic experience before ?
I asked before about the PiP because on PowerDVD the BDrebuilder version does not run correctly. The secundary audio is distorced...
Thanks

Could be then that your player is just too old, over time the standard has evolved. You could check of there's av firmware update, but my panny bd85 still plays everything I throw at it.

As far as the pdvd and bdrb goes, hell pdvd often doesn't play original disc pip's either. That's not bdrb's but pdvd to blame.

@ Ch3vr0n RE: Could be then that your player is just too old, over time the standard has evolved.

I have a Panasonic DMP-BD30 that's from 2008. It will still play any of the latest "original" blurays and BD_RB rebuilds, although it's really slow to load, maybe 45 seconds to get past the loading animation. If I can get TMT5 to play the "original" disk, then after BD_Rebuilder finishes it will also play in any of my hardware players too. Either FilipeAmadeuO has a bad rip, a bad burn or he is trying to play it with a bad (software) player.

My first player was a Samsung. 2008 model. It was extremely picky about backups that it would play. Now we have an LG. It plays literally everything I throw at it.
Generally, I don't have problems with Powerdvd. TMT5 however... it could be more hit miss. I haven't used it in months. Which is fine, since I believe they discontinued the product? Only problem I have with Powerdvd, is having to manually set my refresh rate to 24hz when watching 3D. Oddly, it sets it to 23hz initially. Causing a lag. Not really complaining though. Trivial bug :p

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie with BD rebuilder but I used the previous version several times with peerless results.
Turns out I upgraded to version 0.50.03 and shrank a Queen Blu-ray named "Days of our lives".
It has 2 60 minutes documentaries and plenty of bonus features.
I picked Verbose status reporting, custom target size (24000) high priority and highest (very low).
For the first time after many successful experiences, on the 2 documentaries the audio is out of sync by a few seconds while on the extras is perfect.
Tried twice with the same results.
Did this happen to anyone and if so, how did you fix it?
If you need any extra info please let me know.
I just shrank a Mr. Big bluray (Back to Budokan) with usual excellent results.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Javi

Wherever you told BD-RB to save the rebuild you will find a file called 'BD-REBUILDER.LOG'. That is your log file. Open that file in Notepad and scroll to the bottom and it will show you details on what happened during that rebuild. Just copy the entire contents for that film and paste it here, in a reply, and preferably enclosing it in 'quote tags' (just tap the 'quote icon' above where you enter the text in a message -- looks like the speech dialogue in a comic).

Javi
PS: Please bare with me, English is not my native language.Try it with the newest version (v0.50.04) linked in the first post. There was a fix that might be related to your issue. Please post a reply noting whether (or not) it fixes your issue.

Will try and will do.
Thank you.
BTW: Is it normal for the process to take around 30 hours or perhaps should I add more memory to my PC? Currently I have 4 GB.

Currently according to your logs you are now running the encoding quality at (Quality: Highest (Very Slow), Two Pass). Personally I would change the quality setting to High Quality Default and take the checks out of the CRF one pass to allow two passes. This will usually cut your encoding processing time by about half.

BTW: Is it normal for the process to take around 30 hours or perhaps should I add more memory to my PC? Currently I have 4 GB.4GB should be fine, but 30 hours is a long time. The main factor would be the type of processor you are using. On my system (an AMD FX-8350@4.5Ghz) a typical movie-only backup takes about 2.5-3 hours. In high-quality mode pass 1 takes about .3x the movie length and pass 2 takes about 1x (so a 2 hour movie would be .6hr + 2hr + audio_reencode + rebuild_time = ~2.5-3hr).

The disc you were encoding has 3 3/4 hours of content. So a good processor might take 5-6 hrs or so. A newer intel i7 would likely take a lot less.

@jdobbs
Is there any tools to check the commands that are called during the bluray playback ?
I have done many testing on Batman Begins and seems that there is a command (or BD Java Code) that is incompatible with the Panasonic player so thatīs why it crash.
Thanks

- Source Video: MPEG-4 (AVC), 1920x1080
- Rate/Length: 23.976fps, 57,251 frames
- Bitrate: 17,159 Kbs
- [11:48:24] Reencoding: VID_00000, Pass 1 of 1
- Encode failed. Aborting.

and it immediately crashes it usually means that something is not set up appropriately on your system to do encoding. You need to delete the BD_Rebuilder Folder, uninstall all the helper applications, and just for good measure delete the app folder locations. After a reboot I would then run ccleaner and tidy up my temp files and registry entries and then do a "COMPLETE" reinstall following all the detailed instructions on the BD_Rebuilder first page. I think you will find that then BD_Rebuilder will do encoding without crashing, at least it did for me when I was having problems. hope this helps, worknstiff

@jdobbs
Is there any tools to check the commands that are called during the bluray playback ?
I have done many testing on Batman Begins and seems that there is a command (or BD Java Code) that is incompatible with the Panasonic player so thatīs why it crash.
ThanksYou can look at the HDMV commands with BD-Edit. But I don't know of a tool that will analyze BD-J.

@wakko709

Recommend you uninstall and reinstall FFDSHOW, HAALI, and AVISYNTH. It looks like something has been hosed. Sometimes other software can intercept or interfere with one of these and cause failures.
