You can convert the LPCM to AC3 using BD-RB -- that works fine.

Just to be sure, do I check 'use 640kbs for AC3 encoding' or just leave all options under <audio encoding options> unchecked?

check it and it will give you 640k AC3, unchecked 448k AC3.

...As long as HD audio is unchecked. HD audio check will overule.

Thats the problem, i want (need) to re-encode the LPCM to ac3, but i want to keep the main movie TRUE HD Track....

Ok,
i've now tried erin brokovich again. Same issue.
Using tsmuxxer only everything is fine, exceptionally the filesize which is to high for a bd-25.

The i tried to downsize that movie with one dolby true hd soundstream left.
The result is stuttering sound.

PowerDvD tells me the videostream is called mpeg-4 avc.
Is the problem related to the used videostream ???

If i don't check keep hd audio, i will get a working copy with dolby digital using bdrb.

Any ideas ??
Or do u need more information ?

Hello Did I miss something? I just used latest version of BD Rebuilder for X-Men. Did a Movie-Only Backup, Target Size BD-25.Kept all English Audio Tracks & English Subtitles,I had the following boxes checked:
Stricter AVCHD Compliance for movie only
Trellis Algorithm
Do Not Convert DTS to AC3
Do not reencode AC3
Use 640Kbs for AC3 encoding
Keep HD Audio for BD25 encoding

The disc shows as a DATA Disc in my LG Player shows as AVCHD through PowerDVD on my computer and has no sound?!?!
The movie looks great but I have no sound?!?!

Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

I don't mess with checking any of the audio boxes. I do check the box for "Stricter AVCHD Compliance for movie only".

My Movie Only copies to BD9 and BD25 came out fine. I'd rather have 448kbs AC3 audio than no audio at all, so I'm not too adventurous with the settings.

I don't think the "Keep HD Audio for BD25 encoding" thing is 100% ready for primetime yet.

Just posted a new link for the latest update on the first page of this thread. Still several things to fix -- but thought with limited time lately I'd post what I've done so far...

Changes for this version:- Made changes to MPLS processing code to correct for
mismatch errors when MPLS/CLPI PID orders are not
ordered the same.
- Rewrote several sections that perform audio encoding
and integrated new routines for processing.
- Corrected an error in which under certain conditions
some small parts of a multi-part playlist might not
be reencoded -- and result in a video type mismatch.
- Updated X264.EXE to the latest release (r1145)
- Updated TSMUXER.EXE to the latest release (v1.9.9)
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

jdobbs: I hate to sound like a broken record but do you have any plans to write the 2-3(?) lines of code to implement bdsup2sub to fix the 720p subs issue I reported back in february?

jdobbs
29th April 2009, 22:38
I've never seen anything in my life (and it's a long life) that was solved in 3 lines of code... even if the Messiah were writing it I'd expect no fewer than 10 -- and I'm no Messiah. :)

if 720p (
bdsup2sub <params>
)
?
Anyhow outside the amount of lines, I mainly mean to say the command line is all set to go and it should be very easy to implement. Do you plan on fixing it by implementing bdsup2sub or another way?

Also I notice that if MODE=1 in ini (movie only) it says 'selected source is not BD format' if I change back to full movie it loads the same content just fine. Vista 64 bit OS.

hi jdobbs,

did you fixed the bug with the stuttering dolby true hd sound reencoding with bd rebuilder in some cases e.g. erin brokovic??

i have used v0.20.05 and tsmuxxer 1.9.9 which results in the described error.

Thanks JD, for the update, and for your hard work on this marvelous program.

Just an FYI...I've not had any Issues/Bugs whatsoever with the last up-teen versions.... all my encodings are movie-only to BD-9...

I once again would like to call upon all those who are benefiting from BD-Rebuilder & JDobbs' hard work to find it in themselves to donate what they can if they haven't done so already...
Cheers...:thanks:

Thanks for the update jdobbs.

should the speed be 4x faster? I was testing 20.06 and it was running at least 4x faster. I knew something was wrong so I rebooted and ran BDRB again, it's still very, very fast.

I know it's to good to be true but I'm going to let it run. At this speed it will be done by 9pm

"min m2ts size =" has stopped working properly...

It looks like at least now BDRB is checking the mpls to see which m2ts are buddies, but I tried setting min m2ts to "5000" for the film 300 and there's still a load of m2ts that shouldn't be there (they are about 10 m2ts, all part of 1 mpls)

edit - having said that, this is the exception and not the rule, it seems to be ok for other discs, only tried about 7-8 so far though.

the encode ended up failing. I figured out was caused the speed increase, because I had to do a full movie backup ( I always do movie only) there were 480p files that were encoded first and they were fast the 1080p files were normal

I just downloaded this version a few minutes ago and also got that error. I am also running Vista x64. Tried two blu's and got the same results. Reverted back to the previous version and they were read with no problems.

Great program!!! Cannot wait for it to get beyond BETA stage. Will gladly donate for it as I've done with DVD-RB! Thanks JDobbs!!

I have now received this error on both v0.20.05 and v0.20.06. BD-RB does not seem to want to direct stream copy a VC-1, 29.97fps, 1080i. I used the "MIN_M2TS_SIZE=14000" switch so not to reencode the file, and the crash happens just when it starts copying this file. It reencodes and rebuilds the VC-1, 23.976fps, 1080P file, which is the only one I have set to reencode, and it is the largest .m2ts. This is a full movie backup of Terminator 3 to BD-25.

movie-only mode selection result in "Source selected

- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.I apologize for the movie-only bug caused by v0.20.06. I made a last minute change to a single statement for readability and pretty much hosed movie-only mode... it should work correctly now.

I have a strange problem with a backup of Terminator 3, NTSC, where the source is 1080i, 29.97fps, VC-1, and neither full backup nor movie only backup can be done with the audio in sync with the video. The only successful way I can back this one up is to use TsMuxer to remove pulldown on the source .m2ts file first, then create a new BluRay with TsMuxer, and then run the movie only option with BD-RB on the newly created 23.976 1080P Bluray. For some reason, the video plays ahead of the audio on the BD-RB backup on the 29.97fps 1080i original, but after the remove pulldown option thru TsMuxer, the audio and subs play perfectly in sync.

@datman;
The problem seems to be the original authoring of this movie was a VC-1 29.97fps, 1080i (I corrected my typo above of 21.97). The original plays back just fine, but for some reason, after reencoding with BD-RB, the audio goes out of sync. BDInfo reports both the original and reencoded BD-RB as 29.97fps, but the audio is behind the video and gradually gets a longer delay further into the movie. So I ran TsMuxer on the original .m2ts file and it allowed me to select "change fps" and "remove pulldown", which I did and selected 24000/1001, and then selected to create a new Blu-ray disk. This now played back in sync. I then used BD-RB to create a movie only backup, and then the audio was in sync as well as the subs. I also tried a manual backup of the .m2ts file with MeGui to create the .x264 and TsMuxer to rebuild, and the results were also a success. However, I could not create a successful full movie backup this way since I was not able to change/substitute the original 29.97fps .m2ts file with the newly created and in sync 23.976fps .m2ts, and keep the working menu after the substitution of the clpi files from the new bluray creation. I tried with BDEdit and CLIPINF_Editor_v0.04b, but my lack of knowledge in this area prevents me from making the necessary changes to fix the broken pointers I made from changing the frame rate.

The fix for the Audio and Subs IDs fixed my problem with Madagascar (Ger).

In 20.05 the wrong subtitles were displayed. in 20.06 it is correct.

I will now try "The Prestige" where the wrong audio is played.

Thanks again.

Bye

Why does every m2ts that should be 23.976 show up as 23.975 after processing withb BDRB in EAC3To?

I asked this a while ago but nobody responded :)

I have also noticed that encodes fail on full backups during the rebuild process if only one m2ts needs to be encoded

Never really had a problem before untill now:

This error seems to be a similar error code as to the one I posted above at #2623, but yours appears to be on the rebuilding of the reencoded files. My error was on a direct stream copy of a file that was not reencoded. Hopefully jdobbs will be able to nail this one down since more people are reporting this type of problem.

I am also receving this error (I have set min m2ts high enough that only the main movie m2ts is being encoded due to hybrid interlaced vc1 being present causing crash if that gets encoded).

In movie only mode it's using --avchd which is good with tsmuxer 1.9.9 but it doesn't create the AUXDATA directory that Denon's and Pioneer's need. I would suggest creating that directory if strict AVCHD is disabled and don't create it if it's enabled.

Sort out "set min m2ts="

It's screwed in the latest 0.20.06\7 versions.

You set it to something stupidly high like 4000 and I'm still seeing m2ts files that I shouldn't be seeing.

Is this because BDRB is really now doing it based on mpls size?

bad idea. surely that should be a seperate setting, and shouldn't set m2ts size=...but mpls=...

In any case, The main program should either show a tree with the different m2ts in each mpls with the mpls showing it's total size etc (like a flowchart)...

Or the old way...

Way it is now just makes stuff not work, since BDRB isn't actually showing what is in each mpls, but does seem to be analysing it based on how it's behaving with setting the min m2ts...Means we have to use eac3to to check out what m2ts goes in each mpls to make sure there isn't 2 different codecs being used causing out of spec output.

Hey all, just want to say great job jdobbs. This is an absolutely great program. I downloaded the newest version and tried to shrink Step Brothers full disk and i get the message failed to encode and then it trys again and fails encode again and then quits. 2.0.0.5 seems to still encode. Thought you should know. Thanks for the program cant wait for the final version.

It will not skip encoding on M2TS files that are part of a larger MPLS that have some part being encoded because of the issues reported earlier (in fact I think you reported it) with mismatched video types... so the minimum size doesn't apply to them. If you can figure out a way to encode and not encode at the same time -- let me know.

In any case, The main program should either show a tree with the different m2ts in each mpls with the mpls showing it's total size etc (like a flowchart)... It doesn't matter. You have an issue with any way you show them.

If you show by MPLS you can't change the settings correctly because the contributing M2TS files may be a part of more than one MPLS. If you list by M2TS you have the issue in reverse. So the bottom line is -- if an M2TS is a part of an MPLS that has any part to be encoded -- all the component parts have to be encoded.

Means we have to use eac3to to check out what m2ts goes in each mpls to make sure there isn't 2 different codecs being used causing out of spec output. That is exactly what was fixed and is causing the MIN size to seem to be ignored.... you can't have it both ways.

I'd love a suggestion as to how I can solve one issue without causing the other.

Can you do a little testing for me? If you use v0.20.07 with the older X264 version does it still fail? There were no changes to that part of the code except the X264 update.

Seem to be getting this error now at rebuild with 06,07 beta at full disc backup and quicker extras on a 25 bdr .When it failed the first time i still kept the workfiles.I then tried to just resume from a previous started job which was from v0.20.06 but recievied this different error code. DoEncoding() 00076 4That error is a "Path Not Found" that is returned. Judging by where it is happening (the "4") it seems to be when an attempt is made to read the INF file. But based on the LOG that seems impossible.

Even more confusing is how it is getting that error when REBUILDING -- DoEncoding() isn't even called then...

Can you give me some exact instructions that could make it repeat?

It will not skip encoding on M2TS files that are part of a larger MPLS that have some part being encoded because of the issues reported earlier (in fact I think you reported it) with mismatched video types... so the minimum size doesn't apply to them. I haven't explained myself clearly.

Even if I set the min m2ts to 20GB, there are m2ts still showing that should definately not be, they are not part of the main movie m2ts, the sum of the m2ts is not more than 20GB - They should not be appearing.

This is evident in many discs (Noteable one is the film "300"). Which tested to see if the stream mapping has been corrected and it has, thanx for that :)

I can see what you are doing, I'm just saying that maybe it would be a good idea to have a +\- like for expanding folder etc in windows explorer...would clean the ui up a little. Not an issue to me though.

I mean the whole reason the set m2ts options is so useful is pretty much purely (I think this is generally true) for the hybrid vc1 that x264 crasges with. Maybe just being able to select the mpls to not compress would be a good idea, because it's very wasteful to select encoding based on a maximum size...means all the stuff that isn't hybrid doesn't get encoded either.

Anyways, this does sound like a moan, was just trying to draw attention to the weird min m2ts thing that's going on.

But they might be a part of another (not the MAIN MPLS) that has a component part that is being encoded. For example: suppose you have a very short section that is added to the end of the main MPLS... and it is also added to the end of several other shorter MPLSs. Then it has to be encoded (because it is in the MAIN) and so do all the others (because it is a component part of each of them).

I have "300" on my hard drive. Tell be what I need to do to see what problem you're describing?

I'm starting to think it might be better to just throw away the MIN setting and reencode everything. But then I have to find another way to get around those hybrid VC-1 streams. Even if I set it so you can choose them, though, you can't say "don't encode this section" if it is a component part of another MPLS that has any part of it encoded.

This is a tough nut to crack.

I tried swapping the x264 and still the same thing. This is what it shows.
