My Log times appear ok :confused:

ok I understand the overclock problem. But I tried the v. 0.37.0.5 now by changing the system time and is running without bug.
When I'll come back to the last release of BDR, second pass crash...
The "Use LAVF" option is always activated.
Why with this release I must decrease my CPU speed ?
John It's still a problem -- and you're taking chances. I can only tell you that there are lots and lots of other people running the new version without X264 crashes and I'd recommend you adjust your overclock. But that choice is yours.
I get these reports every year as the spring/summer rolls in and ambient temperatures rise. It was the same with DVD-RB and CCE.

@jdobbs
I rubbed my eyes and looked a second time - V.0.37.08 (Beta) shows log times exactly one hour earlier than actual (according to all PC clocks and clocks throughout the house)... It's getting the time via system calls -- so your operating system must also be off by an hour.

Rub them again, third times a charm! :p
The time is right for me too. :)

That's what's great about BD-RB, you have personalized it with the so many beta testers feature requests / bug reports fixes! :p

I had problems (ffmpeg-mt crash) with the last two revisions of ffdshow.
I went back to r3785 it works fine.

Dont come crying if it fails on that one too. The only correct and recommended version is the one linked at the start being r3326

I know that Ch3vr0n, so I will not complain if it fails.:cool:
The problem is that many of us use ffdshow for other things and not always the old version is recommended.

@jdobbs: What about Matrix Revolutions? Don't you have any brainwave? What does that mean? Either you're being a smart-ass or you're having trouble with English... My answer will depend upon which is true.

Mhm, I think I messed up some words in English ;)
I just wanted to ask, whether you have an idea for why Matrix Revolutions gets too large.
I didn't mean to offend you, I highly appreciate your excellent work!! ;)

Mhm, I think I messed up some words in English ;)
I just wanted to ask, whether you have an idea for why Matrix Revolutions gets too large.
I didn't mean to offend you, I highly appreciate your excellent work!! ;) No big deal. Saying I have no "brainwave" kind of interprets to saying I'm "brain-dead" on this end. :) I looked at your settings -- and they don't look unusual at all. Since the version I have doesn't have German as a language and has 10 languages present where yours only has 7, I assume it is different than yours.
I looked at your INF file and all the M2TS files look like they've resized correctly except this one:
[00008]
AUDIO=0010001
PGS=11111111110000000000000000
M2TS_TARGET=15969050483
USE_ORIGINAL=1
NSTART=27000000
NEND=376107840
NSIZE=17139953664
FLINK=0
MLINK=0
Looking at your log I see this:
- [20:11:10] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00008]
- [20:20:10] Reencoding: VID_00008 (5 of 38)
- [20:20:10] Reencoding secondary video [TRK_02]
- [20:36:23] Collecting video information
- [20:36:23] Keeping original video (no reencode)
- [20:36:23] Reencoding audio tracks (if req'd)
- [20:38:03] Multiplexing M2TS
- [20:46:31] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00011]
- [20:46:36] Reencoding: VID_00011 (6 of 38)
- [20:46:36] Collecting video information
That's the only file that didn't reencode. The question is: Why did it keep the original video when it is obviously larger than the target?
Keeping the original put that segment a little over 1GB larger than it should have -- which is pretty significant. I'll rerun mine again and see how that file comes out...

RE:

Aloha again jdobbs. I hope you are doing well. Just thought I'd let you know that Blu-ray to DVD-5 encodes do not have synched audio & video (e.g., action occurs first followed by sound, lips then words, etc). I am using version v0.37.08 and I do select in Setings: Target size BD-5 (DVD-5) in Output Options.
Some recent titles I have tried are: Skyline, 127 Hours, & Jackass 3. Fyi, I have not tried B-r to DVD-9.
Hope this info helps. Mahalo again for all you do jdobbs. :thanks:

The Matrix Revolutions has a glitch that may or may not cause issues in BD-RB. http://www.google.com.au/#sclient=psy&hl=en&source=hp&q=matrix+revolutions+blu-ray+glitch&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=6ed37e06fcb306d6
Check http://www.amazon.com/Warner-Replacement-Program-Revolutions-Blu-ray/forum/FxGO7XUQHWRI7/Tx2WPZOZIRDYWRR/1?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B000OPPBEQ
If the error is in the source, and the glitch itself was encoded, then that wouldn't cause BD-RB any issues, but if the .m2ts is corrupt, then that might be a different story.

I have updated the first post of this thread with an updated version of BD-RB (v0.38.02). Changes for this release:- Changed the specified --vbv-maxrate on BD-25
backups to 32000 -- this has been reported to
eliminate certain buffering issues. (v0.38.2)
- Corrected an error in which a stream that was
referenced as non-angled in one MPLS was not
being correctly updated if referenced later as
an angle.
- Fixed an issue in which problems with a single
DVD subtitle could cause the entire job to fail.
- Changed the default color for ALTERNATE/DVD
subtitles to white and shades of gray.
- Modified IGS checks to prevent any part of the
feature cannot be excluded from reencoding.
- Updated the DVD subtitle logic to handle certain
types of graphic PGSs. This should also prevent
errors in multiplexing those PGSs.
- Corrected an error in which DVD subtitles were
not synched properly when ALTERNATE_PAL was in
effect.
- Added code to prevent the combination of primary
and secondary (PiP) video streams from exceeding
the BD total video limit.
- Added additional checks to reduce vbv-maxrate if
the combined total bitrate of all audio would
put it above blu-ray maximums.
- Corrected an issue in which ALTERNATE movie-only
output sizing could be dramatically off when
using the two-pass target size selection.
- Updated the included version of DVDAUTHOR to
version 7.0. This corrects "bad image" errors
on certain types of graphic PGSs that were not
supported in the previous version.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1995).
- Updated the included version of X264-64.EXE to
the latest release (r1995).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Be careful about this, since STD delay need to be <=1 sec. So vbv-maxrate should be never higher than vbv-buffersize.

Thanks for the latest update.
I tried again the Alternate PAL DVD backup from a 720p source using latest v0.38.01
The problem reported here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1495085#post1495085) is still there: The subs just flash up. Something is still wrong with the time stamps: Start and end times are almost identical.

I indeed think the two discs are incomparable. Yours is too big to keep the main track unencoded.
I loaded your latest release and give it a try in there. If it doesn't work here, I'll manually set it to 23400 MB to force a reencode.

Be careful about this, since STD delay need to be <=1 sec. So vbv-maxrate should be never higher than vbv-buffersize.
According to...you (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154533)...you have that exactly backwards. :)
Edit: jdobbs, may I ask what --vbv-maxrate was previously set to (30000?)? I promise not to start a debate over this here in the bug thread, just wondering for informational and learning purposes. Thanks.

Thanks. it was previously set to 35000. Buffering was 30000 (and still is). I usually like to set it somewhere above .5 seconds and below 1 second. It is now .94 seconds. I'll probably lower it a little for the next release.

previous maxrate is set to 35000. I knew what you meant. You don't want to exceed 1 second of buffering.

** edit ** failed aswell. Though this time i did get a few seconds further and saw the message "converting field based ..." after that x264 crashed again.

:thanks:

Also, this window keeps popping up during the process. What choice should I select, if any?

Did you already have a chance to look into the 720p sup time code issue (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1500854#post1500854) (wrong stop times as it looks)? I wonder if the problem is with my system only.

I know I looked at it -- but it was a while back and I can't remember now what I found.

I'm trying to output to a MKV container but it always fails on the muxing task. I see mkvmerge in the BD-Rebuilder directory. See log for error. It has always done this for even past versions. I'm at a loss without additional details from the log file to find out why it's failing.

This is my first post so be gentle. I have spent over 7 hours looking through posts to try to find the answer to a problem I am having. I have no problem using BD-Rebuilder to make backups of my BluRay discs to BD 25 discs, but when I make a DVD5 or DVD9 the sound is out of sync with the video by 1 second. I have tried everything I can think of including changing the video timing in ffdshow, with no sucess. I could give (and will it need) more details. I have hand this problem on 8 diffrent movies, on 3 diffrent computers. Most of the post information is way over my head, but if you got some ideas I would appreciate it and I will not take up a lot of your time or space.

JD Can you tell me what disc is causing the problem and post the contents of the .INI file so I can try to repeat it? Also please post the output from INSPECT.EXE. I've gotten enough of these reports to know it is an issue -- but I haven't been able to repeat it so I can figure out what is unique about the discs that cause it.
Also, are you in an NTSC or PAL country?

I wonder if the problem is with my system only.I ran some tests and have found this issue. It appears that the "End of Display" segment on the clearing portion of the subtitle display in the example you gave me isn't using the same time as the "Window Defiinition Segment" for that action. I think it is something peculiar to the way TSMUXER writes it (when it does the resizing) -- as I'd never seen that before in my testing.
Anyway, I've fixed it for the next release.

Hello jdobbs,
Would you mind if I sent you my disc of Heartbreak Ridge (BD), so you can test it with your set-up? You can keep the disc. I'm just interested to see if you have the same audio problem as me. If not, I'll keep looking at my system. It still only happens with Heartbreak Ridge (BD).
Thanks.

Good idea KT. Reminds me that a couple of shareware authors I know of have published Amazon wishlists to make it easy for folks who want to thank them for their efforts.
I know jdobbs that you like cash just fine (!) i.e. PayPal but here's another idea for you: to list discs or gizmos you'd like but wouldn't otherwise spend your own money on (including discs of movies you might dislike but wanna test for example!). Maybe this would even work for .uk or .fr etc Amazon sites. Just a thought...

I picked up SKYLINE (since that's one of the discs you reported as having sync issues). I've loaded your INI into my system and will run it today. I'll report the results.

I got a couple of donations on Sunday so I've ordered Heartbreak Ridge (couldn't find it locally). I should be able to test it in a couple days. Can you post your .INI file? I have to make sure I'm using the same setup as you so I can repeat your issue.
I appreciate your offer -- but honestly I'd rather work with donations and make my own choices as to when, where, and what discs I test. Thanks, though. :)

Just for info - I have made a number of DVD5s from source BDs using BD-Rebuilder and not experienced any issues with audio sync. I generally include 1 audio track and 1 subtitle, and leave BD-RB at "high priority" and quality at "highest". Everything else is pretty much left at whatever defaults the install processes sets. My source is ripped by DVDFab.
