Oh. The way you worded it I thought you were meaning individual files in the root directory (which I didn't test), and not files in a direct subdirectory of root. If that makes sense. :-)

If that makes sense. :-) That is what I meant. I checked it. Files that are not directly in the root are not included. Only individual files in the root are a problem -- but I'll test it again.

Are you positive you have BDMV_CERT_ONLY=1 set in the config file?

[Edit] Ok... I did the testing. It works correctly. Even the files in the root are ignored when BDMV_CERT_ONLY=1 is set. So I have to assume you are mistaken in your testing. Maybe you misspelled it in the config file...

I found a new bug in the dark knight!, is not related with the encode, everything is ok.

The bug is: when the feature "play movie with focus points" is ON and the disc icon appears on the left corner, after press the enter button (to view the behind the scenes stuff of that scene) is played the BTS of another scene...

ie: when i press the enter button in the movie when the joker detonates the hospital a BTS of how they filmed IMAX scenes will play.

Update: The bug still exist in the latest beta, but now when the enter button is pressed, a BTS of another scene is displayed (different scene is displaye when the backup is done with the 0.37.07 beta)

Hello again :)

I'm having trouble with rebuilding Matrix Revolutions to BD25. The resulting disk is too large (25.670.975.488 Bytes) for a BD25.

What can I do here? I attached the log.

Try with this: in settings -> output options: select "custom target size"

Settings -> Setup: put this number: 24250 in the box next to this text "Custom Target Size" and click in" save changes."

At the moment I do 23400. One thing I noticed is, that BD-RB doesn't reencode the main movie; only the other ones. Which is of course great, because no quality is lost. And also I have to say this is the first disk where I'm experiencing size problems.

Edit: Now with 23400 MB it encodes the main movie, so now I think it will be ok in size. But I noticed, that an audio track called "(2nd) AC3 Plus, Stereo, English" can be deactivated :( Why can't I deactivate that track, so it could fit the disk??

This is the secondary audio track for the PiP extra on the disc. It will not take up much space.
If you want more precise sizing, set BD-RB to two pass mode. :)

OK, I just converted to 23400 MB and now it fits onto the disk (with encoding the main movie). What did your tests show, jdobbs? Can you guess, where the problem is?

Converting Little Fockers to movie only DVD-5. I tried both the full source and the movie only BD25. Both times it showed "WARNING: Failed to integrate DVD subtitle" in the log. The weird thing is that the subtitles are working in the DVD5. The movie only BD25 worked fine.

My VID_00132.avs plays back perfectly with MPC, as does the original .m2ts. It is a 47 second long clip, which is an extra as to how the film was made. It starts out looking like the real clip, and then resizes to a PiP with the director explaining the scene.

EDIT:
Just some info:
If I set MIN_M2TS_SIZE=250, this VID_00132 is removed from the to be encoded list. This is a multi-m2ts movie, with three playlists. This VID_00132 is part of only one playlist. If I check the contents of this playlist with BDInfo, it shows 2 MPEG-4, AVC, 1080P clips for the several .m2ts files of this playlist. It is the same as VID_00131, but with this additional footage of how the scene was made. There are several of these double 1080P video within one m2ts file for this movie, it's just VID_00132 came up first in the to be reencoded list, causing the failure. To which playlists are you referring? I just brought this disc up in BD-Edit, and I can't find a playlist that references 00132.M2TS...

My Die Another Day has 3 playlists. BDInfo shows 00001.mpls and 00002.mpls are identical, and 00099.mpls is the one that has 00132.m2ts(1).
Playlist 00099.mpls shows 02:12:34, just as the other two playlists. However, the order for .m2ts files is: 00130.m2ts, 00131.m2ts, 00132.m2ts(1). Same for 00135.m2ts(1), 00138.m2ts(1), 00141.m2ts(1), etc...
I have never seen this parantheses(1) before after the .m2ts.
It also shows 2 - 1080P/ 23.976fps / 16:9 / High Profile 4.1. The second one listed just below the first has : MPEG-4 AVC Video (1). Again this parantheses(1)!

EDIT:
I did not use BD-Edit, but BDInfo v.0.5.6
Does your disc have a 00132.m2ts file?
When 00132.m2ts is played, which is 47 seconds long, it starts as a fight with Bond fighting a guy on the hovercraft, but after 4 seconds, the fight seen is transitioned to a PiP in the left corner of the screen, and the "about the scene" director is now the full screen picture, and he begins discussing the making of. :p

It is an alternate angle for 00131 in that playlist (00099). I'd guess that's what the parens are indicating in BDInfo (I'm not familiar with that program).

I'm able to repeat the error -- and it's because BD-RB thinks it isn't referenced. There must be some error in the code that isn't catching that angle. I'll find it and fix it tomorrow.

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/BDInfo Ok. I fixed it for the next release. This was really an odd one. The reason it wasn't being caught properly is because that M2TS's parent reference (00131) had already been detected in the first playlist without any angles - meaning it is acting as both a non-angled video stream (in one playlist) and as a stream with an alternate angle (in another playlist). I've never seen that before. My code was making the assumption that a stream with angles would always be a stream with angles... and wasn't catching the alternate angles in the second referencing MPLS (00099).

Anyway, I had to rewrite my angle detection and handler code so it accounted for both possibilities.

That was fast!! :) Excellent news.
I would have thought the numerous authoring possibilities would be about discovered by now, but that is wishful thinking I guess. :p
I'll just keep on testing and posting! :thanks:

An automatic quality standard settings run of BD Rebuilder to a DVD9 seems to crash the system (instantly halts to shutting off, no reset, no error message etc etc.)

I'm running an I7-920 with 6gb of ram, everything stock with more than necessary cooling. I've regularly run 3 copies of wow simultaneously, which is more than a workout for the system too, and in an abundance of caution, ran 3 passes of memtest86. No issues.

Only BD-rebuilder seems to have a problem and only on pass 2.. 4 times, 2 different disks (fringe:S1 and the original Avatar disc, ripped through AnyDVD HD for CloneDrive, as per instructions.)

When I played with some more custom settings (DVD5, movie only and iirc 'Good' quality,) and didn't have any issue.

I'm a bit lost as to where to start troubleshooting.

ran 3 passes of memtest86. No issues.

I would suggest running Intelburn Test overnight at the highest setting. I have had to underclock some off the shelf computers when I use the x264 encoder.

Your system is not 100% stable download some tool like Prime96 and run a torture test (blend) on it for at least 12+ hours(min). If it fails you will have to figure it out as to what is causing it .... heat, incompatible ram / bad ram or ram timings. Here is a link to Overclock net where you can get either the 32 or 64 bit versions at the bottom of the very first post.

then it says
BD Rebuilder experienced an error 2705 BuildTreeList() 00009 2705

then another that says correct EP Data. then it tells me my files are'nt blu ray files.
anyone know whats up?

also when i use "movie only" option it keeps doing the interactive movie, not the main movie.

Hey jdobbs i've a little question.

Is it now possible to reencode a 2D/3D BD50 to BD25?
It is a 2D+3D Bluray, so it contains the Movie in 2D and in 3D.

Shrek, or the new Tron Legacy for example.

Ok.

I realize you are / have fixed this for the next release, but just for testing, I set MIN_M2TS_SIZE=900, and ran this on BD-RBV03708. None of the files that caused a problem were in the to re-encode list. So BD-RB completed successfully and I burned to BD-RE for testing this MI6 Datastream extra. The Blu-ray plays back fine, but these extras video are never displayed, only the audio file and regular movie files are played back. Where this "about the scene" should play just after the pop-up subtitle message " Incoming Video Transmission ", it does not on my S360. The original Blu-Ray does work properly on these scenes though.
Have you tried yours, after burning to BD-RE?
Will this new release correct this?
Though my backup did not touch / reencode these files, something still did not work properly, which hopefully will be included as part of your fix.

I can see how that might be a problem, though. You are encoding part of a stream but not some of the alternate angles. Whenever BD-RB decides any part of a stream has to be encoded, is forces the other parts (multipart or angled) to be encoded also -- it just happens in this case that it didn't see it as an alternate angle. So its probable that my output will work even if yours didn't.

The second two errors are probably caused by the first. The first error is "bad record number" and is most likely caused by a corrupt CLPI file.

Hi all,

Been trying the product for a few weeks and just love it so far. The only issue(s) I've had are when I try to rebuild a BR to a DVD-5. So far, I've only tried with special features/extras as I wanted to test from a quality standpoint, but there was a bonus "movie" on the Blow Out BR that I wanted to rip to DVD. Attached is the log file...appears to have worked fine until it got to the audio portion.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help!

jdobbs, congrats on the new subtitle support for BD --> DVD conversion.

I have not been able to get the subtitles to convert to the white color. They always come out yellow. In my HIDDENOPTS.TXT I modified it as such:
DVD_SUB_COLOR=1 n = 0/1/2 - 0=Yellow subtitles (default), 1=White subtitles, 2=Green subtitles

BTW, I suggest setting white to the default color. Reason being that movies always come with white subtitles. I can't remember the last time I saw a movie with yellow subtitles.

I've changed the default to white for the next release. If you add that entry (DVD_SUB_COLOR=1) to the INI file it will make them white -- I've done it myself. In fact all I did to make it default white was to make "1" the value when none was present.

You don't modify it in HIDDENOPTS.TXT that's just an information file. You have to add that entry to the BDREBUILDER.INI file in the BD-RB installation folder.

Hello again :)

I'm having trouble with rebuilding Matrix Revolutions to BD25. The resulting disk is too large (25.670.975.488 Bytes) for a BD25.

What can I do here? I attached the log. I tested "Matrix Revolutions" and it came out exactly as it should. I haven't seen your logs, so I'm not sure what settings you're using. Can you post your INI file?

Your suspicion proved correct! :p After I reencoded those 16 .m2ts files that were previously skipped by setting MIN_M2TS_SIZE=900, and creatively re-integrated them into my BD-RB backup that was not working, and burned to BD-RE for playback on my S360, this angle now works properly. :)

Hi, wonderful program jdobbs, thanks for your hard work! I've used it for a while now without any problems until now. I just tried to rebuild "American Gangster" and I'm getting a disc that just plays blank with no audio or video?

Hmm, I was all set to post the log file but it seems its too large? which log file do I post and where is it located?

I posted the logs in my post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1497915#post1497915).

If you didn't mean that, I attached my configuration INI.

Edit: I tried it once again and the result you can see in "toomuch.png" in the attachment :(

Do you have any idea?

Blows DVDFab out of the water in terms of sheer quality. Have successfully backed-up six BD movies--Full back-ups including menus and extras. Don't know about the quality on a DVD-5 or DVD-9 as I only backup to 25gb discs, since they're (finally) quite affordable. And I feel backing up a Blu ray movie to a DVD is asking too much of any program.

Anyway, keep up the fantastic work:)

If X264 is crashing it means your system isn't stable. If you are overclocked, slow it down slightly. You might also check memory, etc and heat using hardware monitoring software. Many people who overclock think that running Prime95 or some other package will catch issues -- but X264 is a much more demanding test.
Why this last release crach at the second pass with x264-64 ? I don't know what "crach" means...

BD-RB only uses X264-64.exe if you have "Use LAVF" selected in the SETUP. If you change that setting between passes it might also cause issues.

Hello
We'll see if somebody can give solution to this for me.

When I encode a bluray with menus bd java to carve + in DVD R DL, if the size is major of 7.96 GB they can reproduce and they are perfect, but the moment that he is a inferior, they no longer can neither reproducing in the PC, neither in the player of bluray.

Does any way exist of solving this and deceiving the imgburn, to the powerdvd, or player of bluray, that is older of 7.96 GB?

I have done a lot of proofs but for the moment, I have not gotten anything

Thanks from the start for help

ok I understand the overclock problem. But I tried the v. 0.37.0.5 now by changing the system time and is running without bug.
When I'll come back to the last release of BDR, second pass crash...
The "Use LAVF" option is always activated.
Why with this release I must decrease my CPU speed ?

I rubbed my eyes and looked a second time - V.0.37.08 (Beta) shows log times exactly one hour earlier than actual (according to all PC clocks and clocks throughout the house)...
