@lauguru and gg72
why are you two editing out the source names? Nobody can see what's happening with those movies if nobody knows what they are.

good question. Do not edit the BDRB. We need EVERYTHING INTACT in order to be able to help. Makes your request for help look suspicious

I saw lauguru's source name before it was edited. Tried it on google search. Amazing what came up.

I replaced the x264 files with the old ones (from the v0.42.04 folder) and what a surprise, it works now... Something is wrong with the new x264 files.

I do not think it drives us forward, if I call the movie, I wanted to encode, because the error happens with every movie, that I have tried. But OK, here is the log file:

Can you try with directshow decoding just to get past the problem area?
This is to see if its x264 or LAVF.

I use lavf internal x264, and the same error

I just used BD Rebuilder to create a BD-9 of "Ice Age (4) Continental Drift".

While it played perfectly on my PC (using PowerDVD7 - I will intentionally not update), I then attempted to play it on my SONY 360. After allowing all trailers to play and then selecting "Play" from the menu, the movie starts WITH NO AUDIO, and no access to audio or subtitle controls.

But lo and behold, I found a solution. Simply burning the SAME file package (that fits on a DVD/BD9) onto a BD25 results in a disc that is completely and perfectly playable on my SONY 360!

Go figure ;>}

Anyone have any ideas as to what the nature is of this latest SONY 360 anomaly?

Thanks for your suggestion! So with DirectShow it works fine, with LAVF not.

For me, these are the conclusions:

- BD Rebuilder v0.42.06 + LAVF = not working
- BD Rebuilder v0.42.06 + DirectShow = OK
- BD Rebuilder v0.42.06 + previous versions of x264 + LAVF = OK

@setarip_old
The 360 doesn't seem to like full disk (BD) on DVD media
However, it does like movie only even if it has DTS, Sony only enforces part of the AVCHD spec.

@gg72
It seems the problem might be with the internal LAVF in this version.

I have the same crash with x264, when I was using the 0.42.04 version I downloaded the 2230 of x264 from x264.nl and had the same problem.
Now I have replaced the x264 that comes with 0.42.06 with the builds of komisar (2230) and everything works ok, with and without LAVF.

Nothing, I find it impossible to work with this new version :( I asked about specifics about your system. So you don't have a processor? You don't have a motherboard? No memory? You have no BD-RB settings in use? I have to assume that would be your issue then.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the nature is of this latest SONY 360 anomaly? Wow. I can't imagine -- unless maybe it has updated its BIOS and is subject to Cinavia? Even with that, though, I'd expect some kind of warning message. If I recall, though, you don't allow updates on your 360?

http://komisar.gin.by/old/2230/x264.2230.x86.exe rename x264
http://komisar.gin.by/old/2230/x264.2230.x86_64.exe rename x264-64

http://komisar.gin.by/old/2230/x264.2230.x86_64.exe rename x264-64 I'll download those and do some testing. If it seems ok, I'll update the zip with these and replace it on the download server.

[Added] It's a little scary that these are about 2MB smaller than the X264.NL version. That makes me wonder what wasn't included in the build?

I would appreciate it if all of you beta testers would download from these sources, rename and replace the included X264 and X264-64, and let me know if you have any issues. I'd like to test them, and if they're clean create a new release and post it as soon as possible before I'm inundated with LAVF bug reports.

I commented jdobbs morning, convert a blu-ray and I tell you, if it exists, a problem.
Thanks ;)

I downloaded the new Update 42.06, and haven't run ANY tests so far. I'm about to. I'll then also download those x264 versions and try them (without overwriting the Release versions). Will post soon... Been active with other things.

Sweet Update..I dig that it sees .SRT files now in MKV (Thank You...I don't Celebrate Christmas because of the deceptions and editing but I ~appreciate~ the release(!)). Before I test that more, though, I'll do the above with the Blu-rays...

I also agree, its your forum...feel free to remove what you consider junk.

Edit:
I'm letting BD-RB test Robots... Hehe, yep, x264 with the new update failed. I have not added any new switches.. Just extract the archive with WinRAR over existing and run..

I'll rename and download from the links.

Edit 2: Looking good.. A render from Movie and Menus, Output BD-25, Encoding BD-25...2-pass is good from the Log. Audio isn't playing, I'll check that. Video looks good.
I'll try another movie soon...Were you using LAVF in the encode that failed?

Go figure ;>}

This is nothing new. If the original Bluray has PiP, the Sony S360 does not play back properly full backups with PiP to DVD media. This has been the case from the very beginning of BD-RB. ;)
( Proven when that same backup is burned to BDR/RE media! ) :(

gzr download : I work to me, now
http://komisar.gin.by/old/2230/x264.2230.x86.exe rename x264
http://komisar.gin.by/old/2230/x264.2230.x86_64.exe rename x264-64

With these x264 files is everything OK also for me, even with LAVF.

Were you using LAVF in the encode that failed?

Nope. I've activated it now. Checking... Yep, that fails. I also did 2 tests with MULTIPROCESS=1 and 0. These tests are with the files that you included in the archive.

Back to the files from the links... LAVF de/activated. Doing well. Computer is running Windows 7 64-bit.

I would appreciate it if all of you beta testers would download from these sources, rename and replace the included X264 and X264-64, and let me know if you have any issues. I'd like to test them, and if they're clean create a new release and post it as soon as possible before I'm inundated with LAVF bug reports.
There seems indeed to be an issue with the x264.nl version.
I imported an XviD encode in .avi container into BD RB. x264.nl crashed (msvcrt.dll module) when attempting to convert the video, while komisar's build run without a problem.

Every Blu-ray I have ever tried that has PiP and Dolby Digital Plus secondary audio ( not DTS-Express ) experiences the same as setarip_old reported. :(

@jdobbs:
Source is 640x480p 25fps / 4:3 DAR / 1:1 PAR (PAL TV capture)
- Importing with BD RB "Use DEINTERLACER on interlaced sources" disabled converts it to 1280x720i (MBAFF) 25fps / --sar 12:11 which is not Blu-ray compliant
- Importing with BD RB "Use DEINTERLACER on interlaced sources" enabled converts it to 1280 x 720p 25fps / --fake-interlace / --sar 12:11 which is not blu-ray compliant

I think the bug is with the resizing:
It should be resized to 704 x 576p 25fps, AddBorders(8,0,8,0) => 720x576p 25fps / --fake-interlace / --sar 12:11

Perhaps you may look at it.

Thanks a lot for the SRT support in MKV! Sweeeeeeeet! I'll keep original .SRT files for further encodes since they're converted to SUP, and it's really nice to have the feature (Even more Thumbs Up). Though I don't celebrate Christmas because it's actually a Pagan observance (I'm not Religious; Yet I love the BeaUtiFUL colored Lights!) and too filled with stress and more, I Do Appreciate this release a lot. Thank YoOOooOOOOu. I almost commented about a bug, until I noticed I was tired and missed the default (X) on the subtitle...AFTER first test. (Laughing at Myself)

I'll update BD-RB with the newest archive just to keep things current for further tests.

ALL; If you celebrate Christmas or some other...thing...DONATE to the passion of jdobbs and this awesome program. C'Mon! I've done it, so have Others..and I'm going to do it again soon. Show Appreciation. Send him some THANKS in Actions/Cash...help keep this program evolving (If you could HEAR me...). Buy him movies, beer, computer parts, whatever he likes...no matter what season it is. -Smile-

There is one that can shrink a 3d bd as is without converting to SBS. Atleast it could with one of my discs, the others give a filter error. That's dvdfab (ooh i hate to say that name). The trick is you need to save the output also as an ISO file. I'll be testing that one successful shrink when my new screen arrives.
