The screenshot does not show the subtitle tracks because I could not show this information in the program window together with information from the audio.
Here's another screen with this information:

So now we can only select different audio tracks and subtitles if I make the encoding of the entire movie? BD-RB is a work in progress.

Yes, I know, and is a good job!
I just wondered if for example if I select the Other Output Movie-Only mode, if I can choose more than one audio track and subtitles.
I'll continue to follow your work, of all programs of this kind I have found, yours is what I feel is more simple and complete at the same time!

@Ch3vr0n

Can you post the contents of your BDREBUILDER.INI. I'd like to do that one and see if I get the same error. It looks like a TSMUXER issue.

I would think you'd be fine without the LPCM track...

Its already in the post mate. 2nd code box at http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1423430&postcount=9038

I deselected the LPCM stream and it ripped the audio stream successful and went into recoding mode. Will this have any other effect on my backup other then the fact that the LPCM stream will not be available ?

Also: I had to abort the initial encoding process due to lack of time (had to go somewhere), just restarted the recode but this time for the "fun" of it i DIDNT deselect LPCM stream and it went straight on with the encoding. Normal or a bug ?

BTW also mind checking out my problem at post http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1422460#post1422460 & the one following it ?

I apologize for putting this here. I just have a quick question on AnyDVD and BDRB. Any DVD gives you two options - to rip to hard disk, or rip to Image. Is there a way, once it is ripped to image, to easily get it to work with BDRB?

If you rip to .iso you have to mount the iso with virtual clone drive as mentioned above. You can rip to hard disk and then just point to that folder as the BDRB source. That's the way I do it and it's worked fine.

DVDFab seem to have figured out the DTS Express issue

The latest version of DVDFab(7.0.9.0) failed on Star Trek Season 2 Disk 1, I will try 'The Da Vinci Code' next.

ThanksOf course you can. Just remember to set it up exactly according to the first post of this thread. You also need to run it as administrator the first time -- so it can adjust the registry for DirectShow preferences.

Any fix on my problem. As i've just encoutered that error again on VID 11. That one is (in original form) a 2GB bonus feature (interview with steph meyer) with only 1 language and yep its LPCM. Only way arround it was again to disable it but don't want that.

I'd like the feature to have audio.

From my recollections none of the Star Trek series discs have PiP, and therefore not DTS Express. They do have branching versions to pick up the old or new graphics.

I have tried:
The Mummy
Mummy Returns
Terminator 2 - Ultimate
Terminator Salvation

All worked so far.

I'm pretty sure some of the Star Trek TOS discs have DTS Express while others don't--it may break down by season, not sure.

I've done them all with bd-rb and if they had dts express it couldn't have been done.

Just checked my Region B ST S2D1 and it has DTS-HD MA 7.1 and Dolby 2.0.

I also understood that DTS-Express was only used for PiP.

Star Trek US version Season 2 Disk 1 has pip with DTS Express - for Episode Amok Time only. The other disks also have pip for only one episode per disk.

Back to DVDFab, it failed with the Da Vinci Code. The pip is there but no sound.

I have other movies with DTS Express, but I have wasted too much time on this. Must have been a prank, or someone is mental.

The latest version of DVDFab(7.0.9.0) failed on Star Trek Season 2 Disk 1, I will try 'The Da Vinci Code' next.

So far I've done:

Perfect:

Green Zone (U Control PiP)
Groundhog Day (Standard PiP)
Repo Men (U Control PiP)
Sherlock Holmes (Maximum Movie Mode)

Issues:

Clash of the Titans (Maximum Movie Mode) (works great in my JVC player, PS3 all video stops starts stops starts, in power dvd it shows a weird scrambled window where the pip should be and in total media theater 3 it really acts weird like it's rewinding 5 frames then going forward 10, none of this happens with the retail copy)

Twilight (Standard PiP) (works great but turns on a subtitle when showing the school sign, even when PiP is off, I posted on their forums about this, I believe it has to do with the program removing UOPs even when this is turned off)

I'm currently redoing Clash of the Titans and doing Terminator Salvation.

But I think jdobbs would probably prefer we didn't talk about dvdfab as this is the DVD/BD Rebuilder forum. :)

If your testing in a software player and running sound out of a SPDIF/TOSlink/Digital Out, especially in powerdvd, you need to change the sound output mode to "DTS Mixing" in order to hear the sound in PiP even on retail copies.

Okay - I have checked the discs in detail and DVDFab isn't handling DTS Express - it's just throwing it away like bd-rb. When I compared the streams from 'The Mummy' with TsMuxer, the original gives the usual message about an unsupported track, whereas the new one doesn't. There are no extra tracks (they haven't converted it to another 'non-compliant' format), so given all the limitations of DVDFab, it's not going to help with these types of disc.

But I think jdobbs would probably prefer we didn't talk about dvdfab as this is the DVD/BD Rebuilder forum. :) I just don't see the point. Even if it did handle DTS Express -- that wouldn't change the fact that it would still have to be processed by BD-RB.

Let's stay on-topic with BD-RB. :)

I think that the person who mentioned it thought it might give you an insight how to do it if they (dvdfab) were successful. However, if it worked it would only have needed bd-rb to go to bd-5/9, as they do bd-25 as full disc - only anything lower is avchd.

Have a problem with full backup of The Descent Part 2. Bd rebuilder selects Aud_001 LPCM Multi-Ch English so as I wanted Aud_002 DTS-HD XLL Multi-Ch English I changed the selection to that and the sound goes out of sync all the way through. Tried 001 LPCM and the sound is in sync. Have tried a few different versions and all the same. This is the 1st of 60+ to have problems. Any ideas?

Hello,

I've got to report for the version 34.06 a major error for conversion of SHERLOCK HOLMES. The exported project all makes mosaics to all bonus features. I have to report also that the conversion with the version 34.04 works #1.

Here snapshot and detailed informations:

http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr165/8ternity/Snapshots/th_bdrebuilder3406_snapshot1.jpg (http://s480.photobucket.com/albums/rr165/8ternity/Snapshots/?action=view&current=bdrebuilder3406_snapshot1.jpg)

Too much caracters to paste here has a code... so i upload a txt file that can be downloaded for both conversion (34.04 and 34.06 conversion)

I have a little problem with Monters vs. Aliens. I reencoded it as full disk. For main movie I selected one audio track: german dd 5.1 (there is only one german track). Rebuilding run fine. Now, when I want to play this, it plays, but I get crackled sound. I get the german sound and the audio comment at same time, but it sounds like changing between them frame by frame.

Sorry. Deleted the log already. Should check the movie before deleting them. I know.

If you have PowerDVD, and could use IMGBurn to create an image of your backup, then load that image with Virtual clone or Daemon and play it with PowerDVD you will find there is no problem.
Better yet, if you could burn it to disc and play it on a standalone, you will also find no audio issues. :)

Hmmm, don't think I've done any work there, but I'll check it out.

Hi,

I didn't use BDREBUILDER since February 2010 and am making some shrink of BD. I am surprised about the time of process (double than before) and see after set BD 25, the program run with 2 passes (I think before 1 pass). What are the changes? Could I improve it to reduce the time of processing?

Thank you for your answer

Ch3vr0n

Check changes.txt in the BDRB folder for all the changes. If you want it to run with 1 pass again go to settings > encoder settings > and at the bottom select One Pass (CRF) Encoding or One Pass (VBR) Encoding

Hmm. Checked again. There is a secondary video and a secondary audio. The secondary audio I can't uncheck. Didn't saw this one because of the long list of audio tracks (a resizable window would be really nice).

Some point is interesting: After reading the orininal disc, the secondary audio gets identified by BDRB as:

AC3 Plus, Stereo, English

When I read the new iso into BDRB, it gets identified as:

DTS-Express, Stereo, English

Look at my settings. I used all options to get completely untouched sound. So there shouldn't be a change this way.

In PowerDVD it really runs without that crackling, but the original disk rund in TMT without that issue. So I think there is something that has to be done in BDRB (I hope). TMT3 is the first choise for playing movies on my driveless HTPC with W7 MediaCenter and original moviedatabase since PowerDVD don't plays folders anymore.

Your FFDSHOW is not a correct version. That might cause problem for Bd-Rebuilder.

As I did set up BDRB to leave sound as it is, only video stuff should get in touch with ffdshow. So I think the possibility is very low, that the issue is caused by this more actual version.

I have experienced these same audio playback issues when testing full backups to BD25 that have PiP when using TMT3. PowerDVD works fine though!
I always get perfect playback when using my standalone Sony S360.
I can't disagree that the originals do play correctly with TMT3, where BD-RB backups experience this audio track mixing/distortion.
But PowerDVD does play both correctly!
Software players are not the best test for this. This may not be in your best interest, especially if you only use PC based playback. And yes, PowerDVD does not play back from folders, where TMT3 does.
But there can be no denying that when the BD-RB backup is burned to BD-R/RE media and played back on a standalone player, it works just as the original one does. ;)

None of the encodes I have done play back alright in TMT3. Everyone has artifacting but on my standalone it works perfect. So I can say i dont trust TMT3 or any software players to see if a backup works properly or not. Just my findings :)

I've ran into a problem backing up "The Warlords". My PS3 recognizes my BD-R and it appears to start, but then the screen goes blank/black and I'm unable to do anything except quit the movie. I have used the same settings for all my jobs and have backed up other titles since "The Warlords". I ripped the contents to the harddrive w/ AnyDVD 6.6.8.0.

thanks If you use the right software it works all the time. If you use the wrong software, there's no telling what could or could not happen or when it might or might not happen.

No. They don't all use the same codec. There are numerous codecs in use for video and audio -- and they all have to be decoded from their original state (frameserving) in order to be reencoded. HAALI is part of the splitting/decoding process.

The solution is simple. Don't try to outsmart the system, use the right software, and it will work every time. My biggest support headache is folks who decide they know better than everybody else and "upgrade". If you look back through this thread you'll see at least 500 posts where the "bug" an incorrect software version.

Uninstall your current version of haali. Then go the the Programs folder and delete the folder Haali. Reboot.
Now install the recommended version from the first post of this thread.
