yeah i know what you meant, but maybe you should look for another player! cause it seems that one you have doesnt work with any "full backup" on bd5/bd9

about doing transformers full backup to bd-25, with the algorythm for better quality, and high speed mode for bd-25, it has passed 50 minutes, and it says eta: 2:20, so less than 4 hours to rip a full bluray :D

I get the same error (post 3782) for another disk as well ... when it tries to extract the audio from the main feature. No problems with the audio of the Extras.
I'll now try extracting directly with tsMuxeRGUI to see if I run into the same problem.
Added: No problem with manual audio extraction using tsMuxerGUI.
Added2: I found that it is the subtitle .pgs (PGS_001 German) which causes the problem with BD-RB v0.25.01(beta).
It demuxes fine when doing it manually with tsMuxer Can you look at the .meta file and see what is different?

try encode wvc1 and m2ts is blank video ....why ???????? is not possible to fix wvc1 encoding ... wvc1 is from another planet???????????????/ There is no known directshow codec for the PC that decodes VC-1 that is field-based interlaced. I would assume that's what you're dicussing.

yes, guess I will have to spring for new player. A good choice would be a Sony BDP S360... it handles all formats, is inexpensive, and is profile 2.0 compatible. JMHO
(I just got one to replace my old BDP S301 which didn't handle BD-Live or PiP)

ok but i encode wvc1 whit ripbot264 and i have no problem ...but i need full backup.. You can encode VC-1 through BD-RB also -- just not those rare streams that are field based. I'd be surprised if that problem M2TS could be backed up with RipBot either, unless it happened to be frame-served through Neuron2's software.
If you back-up to BD-25, the track will be copied instead of blanked and it will be present on the backup. You just can't do that to BD-5/9 because the orignal bitrate is too high.

You mean decoding. BDRB encodes everything to h264. VC1 decoding *should* be faster...in theory generally speaking.
chudm
9th July 2009, 23:28
yeap right, decoding :), for me its pretty slow though, avc and mpg2 blurays when are being encoded in BD RB are very fast (0.9-1.1x) but when the source its vc-1 the encoding goes down to 0.3-4.5x

hey guys, had some problems with new beta, after 2 great bd-r rips! was trying to do kung fu panda, again, with bd-25 high speed option, algorythm for better quality, and after 3% had some problems with x264.exe, then a message came saying x264.exe stopped working, dont know why its happening this though, any suggestions?
when tried to do this:
[20:30:56] Reencoding: VID_00021 (22 of 54)
the fps went to 0, and it freezes

Have you upgraded your version of X264? If so, that is the issue. The new version of X264 crashes with BD-RB because they have removed some of the command line parameters that are used.
I have modified the next release of BD-RB to be compatible with X264 r1179... but don't try using this new release with any current versions of BD-RB.

Upgrading to the latest seems cool sometimes -- but staying with a version that is proven reliable is cool too.

I've been experimenting and I think I've come up with a much better CRF prediction algorithm for one-pass encoding. Hopefully I'll get it more accurate by this weekend. I've also finished working on the DD+ PiP audio and it now works (I tested it on "The Matrix").

Congratulation jdobbs!
I tried the Fast Encode option for DOGMA (42gb). The High Quality setting to BD25 took aprox 4.5 hrs and the Fast Encode setting took 2hrs 2min. The final size was 21.6gb, so the undersize wasn't very much. The quality difference between the two copies is virtually none and everything works for both copies.
I won't waste space posting the log unless you want to see it.
Thanks for an excellant addition!

Hmmm... I wonder what that could mean? The 720 resize has always worked before.
Yes, the 720 downsize worked here as well before.
Anyway, here the results of the 1-pass encode (skipping the sups):
- Target size BD-9 (DVD-9) / Full Backup / 720p resize / 2 x ac3 audio / no subs
=> Disk filled to 69% (undersize)
=> crf of main feature = 22.05. So despite the undersize the quality is still good .... very good.
=> crf estimation took 20 minutes which represents a considerable time saving compared to a say 2 hours 1st pass of a standard 2-pass encode

Yep, and most PiP audio tracks are DTS Express. Of my 30 or so blurays with PiP only around 5-6 are AC3+. So he might be waiting abit longer ;)

If the original was under 30 Gb and you're perhaps dropping a language or re-encoding one, then it'll just about fit on a bd-r. Is there any reason why your resizing?

@dianasta;
I have backed up the Region A, NTSC version of this movie as well as a few others that experienced the same thing with PowerDVD. However, after burning to BD-RE and testing on my stand alone Sony BDP-BX1, all have played back perfectly. So I believe it is a software/PowerDVD issue and not a BD-RB bug. So, unfortunately, if your only playback is thru the PC, your out of luck. However, if you have a stand alone, try burning to BD-RE and test that method.

Hi!
Perhaps a little patience is required ;>}
I've found that with SOME full backups on disc, it can take PowerDVD (I use v.7.3 with NO updates)as long as three minutes to get past the point you've described.
