Hello jdobbs. Great program!! Got one question...Is there an option to set my own bitrate in backup mode? Thanks, much appreciated.
Not directly. But you can do it indirectly by setting a custom target size. The bitrate will increase as the target size increases. You can also set a fixed CRF rate for encoding -- which let's you choose a quality level and the bitrate will rise/fall to meet that quality level.

Even BD-25's have unwanted "goodies". It wouldn't reencode but rather only process it. I own a few.

Why do you say 'no way' about the size? I did this rebuild from a retail disc and the input was 24.14BG, as below. I don't have trouble believing that a disc from a different distributor might be just a tad smaller.
I agree, though, that it seems odd that it would want to re-encode the video when the size was already lower than the target.

Hi guys I have great doubt on my mind and I want to know the following, in Bd rebuilder as we know, we have option "Source patch" and "Working patch" Its means when I do clic Backup button the extract process just start and expand the temporally files separated on the Woking patch and when finish the extraction and just start de encoding process Bd rebuilder do the job on the same directory / hard disk ?
I mean, for example I have as a source bd50 a Hard disc d:\Movies\The Hobbit and I have too another hard disk where I want to encoding e:\bd25, so, this means Bd Rebuilder extract it in "bd25" directory followed by "Working" and when finish and start encoding, Bd rebuilder read the temp files from e:\bd25\Working and encoding to e:\bd25 ? Bd rebuilder use the same disk, same (put it in some way) directory for both process? Working and encoding? I say this for the reading/writing process so that means Bd rebuilder use all the encoding time the same hard disk? read from e:\bd25\Working and write to e:\bd25\ ?
And , when finish the encoding process I´ve seen , for building Bd extructure, Bd rebuilder needs the original Bd50 (in this case) from d:\Movies\The Hobbit to generate the new disk?
And if Bd rebuilder use all the encoding time the same hard disk, it means the "original" d:\Movies\The Hobbit It not need to be used until the end, all the work is on e: ?
Thank you guys, I hope you can help me with this I need to know
Best regards!!

@ Blurayhd RE: I want to know the following, in Bd rebuilder as we know, we have option "Source Path" and "Working Path"
This works just like it is labeled. The "SOURCE" is where the file is accessed from. The source is just a place where the file is located at and is read from there. The "WORKING PATH" is where the actual extraction of all the audio and video files are done and also where the final "WORK" of Rebuilding the finished folder or ISO takes place.

So then Working path and the final work, (where the files was extracted) and the encoding process , the entire jobs is doing all the time for only one Hard disk (that´s all I wish to know)

If I understand what you are asking, yes, the WORKFILES folder on the ONE drive is where all the work, extraction, and encoding is done and where the final product will be.

The working path will contain the output at completion. The working path + "\WORKFILES" is where all extraction, temporary files, etc. will be.

Not a bug per se but I found something unclear in the HiddenOpt.txt.
"QUICK_USE_QUALITY=n n = 0/1 - if set to 1, BD-RB will use the current quality selection for Quick CRF encodes"
From the context, I'm assuming this applies to the Quick Extras specifically. Is the default 1 or 0?
If it's 0, what is it using instead?
AmigaFuture
23rd April 2015, 21:31
It's default is 0. The answer is in how he writes. Which is why the "If set to 1..." is there. :)

Default is 0, means --ultrafast.
From the changes.txt of October 10th, 2009 - v0.30.03:
- Added a new hidden option "QUICK_USE_QUALITY=1" in
which, when set, BD-RB will use the currently chosen
quality level in quick extra encodes rather than the
default of "--ultrafast" mode.

When doing alternate output, intact video and audio (1 track) to mkv, any movie with a truehd track ends with the truehd track and what appears to be the AC3 core as separate tracks.

Hi guys I need you help here!! it´s never happens to me, yesterday I was watching Amazing Spider-Man that I previously was encoding with Bd rebuilder to dvd25 and like I said I put the movie for watch on my Blu Ray Samsung H5900 3d Wifi and when the movie lenght gets almost 25 minutes the movie just get muted and the splash screen appears warning about "you´re watching a movie with Cinavia protection" and the movie get sound again but every 10 seconds maybe sounds just mute and the warning appears again.
I looking on the web some solution and I heard Dvdfab in copy1.1 remove Cinavia, and I´ll be just wonder, grateful, happy, etc if you can tell me if Bd rebuilder can remove or desactive Cinavia? because so far I knew nothing about it!!
Thank for your time and I hope you can help me!!!!!!!

There is no solution, as yet, for cinavia protection. Some people have created patches for players so they ignore it -- but, to my knowledge, there currently is no removal method that doesn't significantly distort the audio.
I believe the best solution for making a backup is to use the audio from a DVD (which isn't cinavia protected).

That's not entirely true, some people claim the cinex thing works good without distortion. The only catch is since there is no freeware HD encoder that the sound results in ac3 5.1. Slysoft also has a first solution out but that one does still have some audio issues. Output is also ac3 5.1

Verstuurd vanaf mijn Nexus 7 met TapatalkThe reviews I've read on cinex say something to the effect of "far from perfect".
On the other hand -- since BD-RB does not circumvent copy protection in any way (nor will it ever), this is subject matter for some other software.

I wouldn't know, I don't want that crap on my system, I'm a 100% slysoft/elby guy. I can wait until they perfect it and why knows, maybe someone will create a HD encoder by then :-P. Bit you are right bdrb is as CloneBD 100% legal software you wouldn't want to add something to endanger it. Now back on topic :-)

I'm working with Top Gun 2D BD. All bonus features are 480i mpeg-2 so I'm using 'quick encode' for bonus (at default CRF 20).
The disc reduction is about 50% and the extras are about 25%.
There are several 20-30 minute featurettes, but one inexplicably is being treated like the movie and getting a 2 pass encoding. It's not the longest at 22 minutes and there are no extra audio tracks versus the rest. I can't figure why BD-RB might decide to give it 2-pass at the feature's reduction ratio. If you used 'play all' it's not even the last file in the playlist (there is a credits .M2TS that followed).
Emphasis is mine to show video track that is the issue. I stopped the build, but later resumed and found that no other tracks were treated to 2 passes except the feature.

@DoctorM, I've seen that happen before. Forget the title. Jdobbs also had a logical explanation for why that would happen. I also forgot that LOL! I've simply accepted that it's one of those tiny things, that will take trial and error to iron out ;)

@Ch3vr0n You saying if I get any Bluray disc previously encoding with Bd rebuilder and and pass it to my hard disc with Anydvd hd and setup this I´ll can burn to another disc but without cinavia?
no, that's not what i'm saying. All i said was anydvd has a cinavia fix. Anydvd's cinavia fix hooks into CloneBD, and requires HD audio downscaling to ac3 5.1. It's sort of an upgrade to its cinavia software player fix.
All I need to know, dear friend is how, what option or way to set for desactivate cinavia?
Cmon, put in some effort, you really cant miss it in program settings ^^. Bottom one. NOTE: though that this is an early release and far from fully completed (still some speed/echo issues some say). Which is why it's disabled by default.

You need an A/V-Receiver and you will have no Cinavia issues. Audio on connected devices must be set to bitstream and thats it.
Reason why it works: The sound with Cinavia watermark was send to your A/V Receiver but it will not return to your Blu-Ray Player and Cinavia thinks its all right and will not be activated. :)
If you dont have an AV Receiver your BD Player decode the sound, found the watermark in it and activate the Cinavia Protection because its not the original Blu-Ray :(
Or you must use an older BD Player (<July 2012) with no Cinavia chip in it.

When doing alternate output, intact video and audio (1 track) to mkv, any movie with a truehd track ends with the truehd track and what appears to be the AC3 core as separate tracks.
I had newest BD-RB process my "Contact" also. Same results with Intact Video/Audio and TrueHD with the AC3 core also there. I'm gonna check into it more. It's a good reminder because I don't usually keep HD tracks and it's part of testing.

That's why I have an older LG Player and bought 2 more of them. I don't use the Netflix and other programs included with the Player, to me that's too much like transcoding and I'm not into loss of A/V quality from that nor do I want to support "Streaming Only". You could also "hack" a newer BD Player's hardware, but that's advanced stuff and voids warranties.

It's a good reminder because I don't usually keep HD tracks and it's part of testing. It's probably done by MKVMERGE during the build because an MKV doesn't retain the AC3 core. One way to keep it anyway is to simply put it in a different track. I personally never keep HD audio (because I believe it's nothing more than sales hype [proven by double-blind tests]) -- so I've never noticed it.

Note there was a change to mkvmerge TrueHD handling in 7.7.0. Read last paragraph:

Trial and error on my part or JDobbs? Is there some option I can adjust that may effect this?

Basically, Jdobbs has to encounter the problematic playlist/stream. And assess why it's determining it a non extra. I'm not aware of any current workaround.

no, that's not what i'm saying. All i said was anydvd has a cinavia fix. Anydvd's cinavia fix hooks into CloneBD, and requires HD audio downscaling to ac3 5.1. It's sort of an upgrade to its cinavia software player fix.
Cmon, put in some effort, you really cant miss it in program settings ^^. Bottom one. NOTE: though that this is an early release and far from fully completed (still some speed/echo issues some say). Which is why it's disabled by default.
According to that I currently trying that.
Anyway I have to ask, I´m curious, in Bd rebuilder I always setup the following in Audio encoding options and check the follwing;
1- Do not convert DTS to AC3
2 Do not reencode to AC3
3 Keep HD audio for Bd25
Unchecked;
1 use 448kbs for AC3 encoding
2 use 192 for 2ch encoding
3 Apply dynamic range compression (No idea what is this anyway)
There´s some buttom that I have to check and uncheck for downscaling to 5.1?

None of that matters, as I said the cinavia fix hooks into CloneBD. You'd still need to process bdrb's output through CloneBD or it will trigger.

When doing alternate output, intact video and audio (1 track) to mkv, any movie with a truehd track ends with the truehd track and what appears to be the AC3 core as separate tracks.
Try this.. From Setup uncheck ALL Audio Encoding Options and do it again. I now have the TrueHD and only that audio track.
