Could someone please tell me what this error means? I just set Windows 7 (yes, authentic student upgrade official release) up on a new machine and didn't encounter this under Vista.
This is also a VC-1 disk and a legitimate rip.1. Did you install: AVISYNTH, FFDSHOW, and HAALI?
2. Did you enable the proper CODECs in FFDSHOW?

@happycase,
I believe you don't want to be talking windows 7 in this forum ... it's kind of a dirty word. I've read enough to know that these bug reports are specific to Vista and XP operating systems.
But it sounds like a codec issue. It seems like it isn't recognizing the VC-1 format in win7. I know in vista and xp, it is indirectly supported in Windows media player 11.. not sure about win7

Not any longer. Windows 7 has been officially released. I have always said I would support it after it was out of beta -- and now it is. I'm glad I waited too, because (as I suspected) it appears that the issues went away with the betas.... who'd a' thought, eh?
I'm running BD-RB on Windows 7 right now. In my system VC-1 is supported directly (I have it disabled in FFDSHOW).

Sweeeett!!! Cause I already got my win7 upgrade in the mail. I got a three system family pack for $129 at Sam's Club. Not a bad deal. I was planning to have to do some reprogramming to get it to work -- but I just upgraded my Vista system directly and boddabam-boddaboom, it worked first time I tried it with no need for any changes. I'm going to do another computer from scratch to see if it works out-of-the-box with no existing O/S in place.

1. Did you install: AVISYNTH, FFDSHOW, and HAALI?
2. Did you enable the proper CODECs in FFDSHOW?
In ffdshow, I have MPEG2 set to libmpeg2, and VC1 set to libavcodec. I also just reinstalled the programs with UAC turned off in case that was the issue.
Another symptom I am having is that when I open the decrypted m2ts in Media Player, I get sound but no video. Is my computer missing a codec perhaps?
Thanks for the help so far.

Could you elaborate more on this, because I am fairly sure that my issue is VC1 and ffdshow related.

Hmmm... , not sure if any rounding to .1 is the cause for the oversize. Here my sequence:
- [18:17:48] Performing CRF Prediction...
- Analyzing 11.00 30.50 25.20 21.60 19.50 18.40 18.00 18.10 18.05 18.08 18.09 [18.09]
The steps are .01 rather than 0.1.
I redid the backup without the tweaks and now the file size is perfect. Here the crf prediction without tweaks:
- Analyzing 11.00 30.50 24.80 21.20 18.90 18.10 17.40 [17.30].
So it looks as if the tweaks (--me umh --tune film) have jeopardized the 1-pass crf process in this case.

I get your point and that's fair. When I complete the BD-9 on M vs. A's (estimate tomorrow morning), I'll let you know if I have better luck producing a BD-9 (fb) using TMT using v0.31. And I'll also post my O/S, Region, settings, INI, inf, and log file.
Ok re-encoded full backup BD-9 M vs. A with BD-R v0.31.01
First let me be clear on the issue I'm having:
- while playing the movie and invoking the PiP extra "Animator Corner" I get the following issue(s) with these software players:
AnyDVD: - no issues when ISO ripped directly using AnyDVD. PiP is fine
Arcsoft 2.6/3.0: - garbled sound (mixed main and secondary audio) while playing just the movie and no sound from the PiP. PiP however does come up
PowerDVD9: - sound played fine in movie but no sound came up in PiP
standalone players: haven't checked so don't know
Other than that it was a perfect re-encode
I haven't burn the disc due to these problems so I've only tested the ISOs into VirtualClone Drive (lost a DL disc this way cause the problem was still there) in order to check
Operating System: XP MCE SP2
Region: A
Settings: Defaults w v0.31.01 except for audio and subtitle selection (unchecked limit 1 track per language)
Please see attached for all my other settings
Any help would be appreciated

Hmm... The selected playlist isn't stored in the INI, so it wouldn't be honored in BATCH mode. I didn't save it there because it is specific only to a certain encode (not settings in general).
I'll have to get creative and I'll see what I can do to fix it.
I still have issues with Angels & Demons and batch mode using v0.31.01:
I wanted to test batch mode of the latest version and had two titles added.
A&D was title two, the long/extended alternate playlist was chosen and it started correctly in batch mode with a predicted running time of 2:26h.
Then i aborted and resumed and by doing so bd-rb picked the first/shorter playlist again and created a movie with the theatrical running time of 2:18h

Problem # 2 is this:
having burned one of those conversion i have doen of A&D (the longer one from non batch mode) i am NOT able to get the proper /german in this case) subtitles to play in the beginning of the movie (starting ~4:18, when Vittoria and colleagues talk french and italian).
the german subtiles ARE present on the converted material, as TMT3 plays them fine when audio language GERMAN is chosen and NO subs are selected within the player BUT the standalone player (samsung bd-p1600) will not display GEMRAN subs.
ENGLISH subs are shown when i select the english audio stream but i cannot manage to have those german subs to be displayed.
of course i tried all 15 subtile entries but none of them is a correct one.
only the first two [english+german] lead to a result showing complete subtitles for everything spoken but not the ones for the dialogue in languages different from the audio streams.
what can i do in order to narrow down this "mistake/weird behavior"?

hmm, i'm sure i did NOT clear the batch list
the first title had finished and A&D had started as you see in the log file ~40 min before i aborted
the extended edition is available here for some days:

Clear was the wrong word... the title had to be added to the batch list from within v0.31.01 (not already be in the list) because the MPLS selection information is inserted when the title is added.

Does ffdshow actually run when bd rebuilder is running? I installed the proper codecs with windows 7, but had to do some fooling around with codec tools to get ffdshow to take over window 7's codecs.

OK, since it is not too common to interrupt a batch process that's seems to be more than fair
the severe problem still stays with the subtile, which must be present but does not show up
does anyone have an idea on how to look into the structure of this rebuilt version and maybe get a clue as to what may perhaps not be referenced perfectly fine?
since i have never ever experienced any such problem with the samsung 1600 i cant help but think it's in the movie only conversion

I watched BD RB during the extraction phase which it got through 100% and then try to go on to the encode. I watched the task manager after the extraction phase to see if ffdshow was running at all and it was not. It looks like I might have the same problem you encountered. How did you fix it?

Try setting VC-1 to "disabled"
I gave that a try and am BD RB is still failing to encode. As far as I can tell, ffdshow is not even being called by BD RB, but I don't know anything for certain.

How did you fix it?There are some registry settings you can make -- look through the thread, I believe Turbojet posted a .bat file that will make them for you. Are you using one of the Windows 7 releases that predated the official release? I used the official release and didn't have to run the batch.

You may not be able to see it directly. It's a CODEC that get's used referenced AVISYNTH via X264 -- which in turn gets called by BD Rebuilder.

Thanks for the information. I've been keeping my Win 7 package for my BD-Rebuilder PC sitting on the shelf until I got your confirmation.
Are the the utilities and versions listed in the first thread still valid with the official Win 7 release? I almost hate to touch anything since I've been running with zero failures making my Movie Only copies to BD9... on XP.

absolutely the same here
have switched one pc to win7/64 but did not dare touching the encoding machine as it runs just fine

Heres a follow up on the ReencodeAudio() 00075 1801 error. I tried to continue the job and it went on just fine with the next segment. No complaining at all. So probably a glitch at my end or something. Though I did get eac3to to report an audio overlap at (almost certain) the right spot.

I have also burnt it to a bd-re and there is no problem at all playing it in my ps3. No glitch in audio or picture. It plays perfect.
I hope this will come in handy, otherwise please ignore ^^

I watched BD RB during the extraction phase which it got through 100% and then try to go on to the encode. I watched the task manager after the extraction phase to see if ffdshow was running at all and it was not. It looks like I might have the same problem you encountered. How did you fix it?
well I installed the win 7 codec pack from http://shark007.net/win7codecs.html
It has a handy utility, make sure ffdshow is used appropriately, not microsoft codecs. Before this, bd rebuilder encoded a movie without errors, but it was very choppy video, not sure if it used ffdshow properly or what. But now everything works great, by default ffdshow should appear somewhere in your notification area when bd rebuilder starts to encode. This utility also forced windows media player and center to use ffdshow and not its own codec. I used to use gspot on vista to tweak which codecs were being used, but I didn't even see ffdshow listed anywhere.

Could one of the settings be conflicting with another, to cause the problem?

Hi,
I am testing different applications to see which can best compress a Blu-Ray (Movie Only) to a DVD-9 media. So far I have played with DVDFab and BD-RB. From my compressions I have noticed that the Picture Quality produced by BD-RB was better than what DVDFab has produced, but then again DVDFab is much faster again. Anyway, I do not want to start a conversation / war on this. I have decided to stick with BD-RB for now and do some more tests. The problem I am currently experiencing is that BD-RB always re-encodes the audio to ac-3. Is there a way to set the program to take the core, either DTS / DD, and only work with that without re-encoding with "aften"? I have selected and un-selected the 2 settings regarding "Audio" but it does not seem to work. Does anybody have any idea to accomplish this for "Movie-Only" compressed to BD-9?
Thanks for a great tool.

Jdobbs:
I was searching other forums for solutions to the VC1 problem and I found a post that stated installing Ripbot onto the computer after installing ffdshow, avisynth, and media splitter would make them work with BD RB. I installed Ripbot last night and then ran BD RB and the encode went off without a hitch.
I hope this helps with future programming to improve Windows 7 compatibility.

Thanks for a great tool.Go into the setup dialog and click on "Do not reencode AC3" and "Do not convert DTS to AC3." It will not reencode audio if those are selected (make sure you SAVE CHANGES) -- I've tested it many, many times with those settings after other similar reports and have never seen it reencode when it was told not to.
Please note, though: If you are doing a movie-only encode and have "Strict AVCHD" selected -- DTS and AC3 will always be reencoded to AC3. DTS is not included in the AVCHD standard -- and I reencode AC3 to ensure it stays within the AVCHD 640Kbs/5.1 limits. If you want to override those limits (at your own risk) you can add the following to the "[Options]" area of the config file:
OVERRIDE_AVCHD_AUDIO_LIMIT=1

jdobbs,
One quick question, for you and all the others that tried it.
The diference between Highest (Very Slow) to High Speed option (BD25) in Image Quality is noticeable in a 40" screen?
I mean if the diference in hours is worth it. I know this probably will change from user to user.
Thanks

That's usually an indicator of a bad rip...
Cheers mate, I'll chalk it up to a bad rip then and try to re-rip when i get chance. I'll try CATWILDUK's settings just once first though before i can bring myself to delete it :)
Glad to see BDRebuilder doing so well - keep it up!

I can't imagine a scenario where it would be noticeable on a 40" screen. I can't really see much, if any, difference when using the fastest mode to a BD25 copy on a 52" screen.

Was ffdshow running when bd rebuilder was encoding? If not, I would uninstall any codecs or codec packs (but not avisynth) and install sharks package for simplicity sake. Then launch the settings application for sharks and make sure in the h264 tab ffdshow is selected to be used and not windows own codec. Then hopefully when you run bd rebuilder ffdshow will launch properly and the video will not be choppy.
You don't have to wait for a full encode job to check the quality of the video, just wait for one or two smaller videos to finish being encoded and browse to the work folder.

Yeah it was, but I checked both the actual movie and the backup, both were having the same problem, turns out i was just my bluray player.
Also, I am having problems with Shark007 codecs and trying to rebuild the movie, The Ugly Truth. To other, supposedly installing the Shark007 codecs fixed the out of sync problems. But I am still running into them, how would I fix this?
Thank you for replying to my questions. :)
UPDATE:
I've been having quite some trouble with the following movies being out of sync:
Fighting
Drag Me to Hell
Nothing Like the Holidays
The Ugly Truth
Has anyone else been experiencing similar issues?

@Julian124;
What are you using to play back the files that have audio async?
What is your cpu/video card/ram specs?
Have you tried playing just the .m2ts file with Media Player Classic, and is the audio async this way too?
Have you defragmented your hard drives?

For LPCM I will most probably use AC-3 since the LPCM audio track can be quite big, as you mentioned. From all your own tests and tests from the people of this threat, would you recommend me using 720p / 1080p for DVD-9? I know it lies is the eye of the beholder but at the moment I do not have an HD display and will only have one by the end of the year.
I doubt there will be much of a difference in 720p and 1080p. I just think the re-encode will be much closer to the real thing at 720p than at 1080p since you use half the bandwidth of a regular BD movie at 20 Gig.

The exception might be if you have a series disc with 4 hours of video... but for most discs you'd be hard pressed to see the difference. Of course if someone did decide to keep LPCM it could change the outcome a lot... Don't let the ridiculously high bitrates used on originals fool you -- it normally isn't really needed with AVC and VC-1.

Just suggestions, process of elimination. Your specs are quite adequate to play back HD material.
If you open the corresponding .mpls playlist for the main movie that has async audio with tsMuxeR, highlight the audio streams you are keeping, do they show an audio delay?
I have backed up quite a few movies, not the ones you mention though, and have had only one with async audio ( Batman Begins ). I believe jdobbs has corrected the rare audio delay issue that some movies have.
However, if there is a negative audio delay present with the described detection method I just mentioned, I think tsMuxeR is not able to correct it. Negative delays, with my testing, are not properly corrected upon remux.
