Ripped Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 1 discs 1, 2, & 3 using AnyDVD HD 6.6.0.3, encoded using BD Rebuilder 0.31.01 full disc option. No errors but when playing on an LG BD390, the FBI warning displays then nothing. The player locks up and will only respond to a power off. The copied disc plays fine on a Samsung BD-P1400 however. I tried again with BD Rebuilder, this time selecting Movie Only with the same result. AVCHDcoder only sees a single 15':02" playlist. Why won't this copy play on my LG BD390?

I just viewed both clips with MPC, and I don't see any artifacts, and I realize my aging eyes are not the best.
There does appear to be some audio async on the non original, but visually, seems acceptable.
These clips plays fine on a PC. They are meant for a problem on the OPPO stand alone player.

Please find the uploads below:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ubo4iw - clip with artifacts (x264 build 1342).
http://www.sendspace.com/file/y3q56z - original clip, which was cut using tsMuxeR 1.10.6.
Unzip the clips, copy to USB and select AVCHD under the relevent directory to play.
Just one question from my side. For future encodes should I use 1342 with weightp set to 0 or even the new 1347 until OPPO fixes the problem? Is there such a significant / fisual improvement over 1310? Or should I just stick to 1310 or 1318 (which was the last version before weightp)?
Thanks.Bug report sent directly to the head of Oppo :p Thanks a lot.

Here are the other clips as requested:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/cplz7k - r1342 --weightp 1.zip
I suppose you do not have any comments on my questions or is there another threat I should ask these questions?
Thank You for the support.

I was hoping someone could help me.
I am trying to encode from VC-1 to H264 and get this error.
I used TxMuxer and chose 'Blue-Ray', which gives me the Certificate and the BDMV folder.
JUST before BD Rebuilder tries to encode, it says "Converting Field base or secondary stream"
I have tried adding the 'process_secondary=1' line to the hidden options, but same thing happens.
Here is the log from BD Rebuilder:

I just got Terminator: Salvation Asia-Pacific release, and having the same - Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not synchronized. Please, verify stream fps. error.
This is on 3 different computers, two with XP, one with Windows Server 2008 (essentially win7), each time a different rip, and one I tried to convert on the fly (i.e. opening the files straight off the disc, no ripping first).
Coincidentally I am having the same problem with both X-Files movies, like another member mentioned before, which was attributed to a bad rip. I am using the latest AnyDVD HD to rip.
Any ideas? I'm going to give HD Decrypter a go just in case...

fwiw it looks like it's a TSMuxer bug, tried to open the offending file in there and it gave an error of a stream not recognized. Seeing as the program has not been updated in months, is there any glimmer of a resolution here?

fwiw it looks like it's a TSMuxer bug, tried to open the offending file in there and it gave an error of a stream not recognized. Seeing as the program has not been updated in months, is there any glimmer of a resolution here? Sometimes you can try extracting the streams one at a time and they'll work when you get that error. That error used to be fairly common in TSMUXER, then I built a routine into BD-RB that catches it and does the video separate from the audio and it went away. It looks now like occasionally pops up even with audio/subs-only.
Normally it means that it was a bad rip (google it and you'll see references that indicate it goes away with a re-rip).

I'll look into that, but I've ripped this movie twice already on two different machines, with the same problem. Unless it is an AnyDVD-related error, that is...
Are you trying to process secondary video? If you are, try it without it.
Thanks, I have now set that option, we'll know in a couple of hours...

Yes, it is on by default. You do not have to do anything unless you do not want to have the secondary video at all.
BD-RB will say what type the secondary audio is, and if it is Dolby Digital Plus, it will be enabled. DTS will not.
is it not posible to copy the secondary audio without converting it?

Hi jdobbs,
1280 x 720@50p encode from 1080i source is muxed @ 25p in final output and plays in "slow motion".
And would it make sense to use "ConvertFPS" instead of "ChangeFPS" to get smoother results?

Hey there guys i have been reading about the mscomctl.ocx error if Windows7 and wondering if anyone has a fix yet.
The Run as administrator did not work if me.,
I have tried the mscomctl.ocx in the "system" folder, used the register updater, rebooted with no luck.
I have tried the mscomctl.ocx in the "system32" folder, used the register updater, rebooted with no luck.
I have tried the mscomctl.ocx in the "sysWOW32" folder, used the register updater, rebooted with no luck.

That did the trick! just open the BDREBUILDER.INI file in the program folder, and add this line:
PROCESS_SECONDARY=0
This will completely skip the picture-in-picture features, but that's a small price to pay :)

Now, I am having a totally different problem, I just got Ice Age 3, Asia-Pacific release again, and upon re-encoding the main movie, x264.exe crashes. I tried to get a newer version of that program, but 31.02 already has the latest, and this crash was reproduced on two different computers. It happens in the 2nd pass in 2-pass mode, right now I have re-launched the whole thing in CRF mode, let's hope it helps, but has anybody experienced something like this before?

An update to this, processing's complete with no errors, but after burning the movie (this is a conversion to BD25), it breaks up horribly while playing, so there's definitely some kind of encoding problem :(
Is there any information about the source files that you guys would like me to post here for analysis?

Can't open the original ripped m2ts file with VLC, no picture loads (works just fine with other movies), so could be a bad rip, time to try that again :)

Just an observation... I lent a few of my converted discs to a friend who has an old S300 (slow, clunky old thing), and he said a lot of them are jerky while playing, and sure enough, any kind of scene with fast movement, it stutters. Depends on the movie though, which is strange. Some movies don't even load at all into the menu.
We tried to update the player's firmware, didn't help..
So yes, I know, the real solution is to upgrade to a proper player, but is there anything that could be tweaked in BD-Rebuilder to improve compatibility?

I had same prob with NAM2 and had to download AnyDVDHD Beta and replace hash.bin file to get it to rip correctly. If you try to play either the disk or the rip and it stutters or has sync issues during playback it will give you the parse error. I tried to process the rip with ClownBD and TSMuxeR and both gave up with error messages about damaged source file and DTS-HD (tract 2) Bad frame detected. Fix AnyDVD-HD and rerip after you play the DVD to make sure it plays OK. If it don't play it won't rip correctly even if it does finish ripping with no errors. Good Luck Allright. Well so far it's only been with Up, and I also tried it on another player (LG), where it was breaking up into artifacts in some scenes. So I'm thinking it might have been a bad rip. Other movies stuttered once or twice but played fine after that.

Other movies stuttered once or twice but played fine after that. Could be a bad burn or disc too... the stuttering could just be the Sony's way of dealing with read errors, while the LG shows it as blocking.

Doing a full movie backup to BD9 of Funny People D2, the bonus feature's disc. There is some pretty bad audio sync problems on the "Prank Calls-1990" features.

This is the only problem with the backup on this disc, and these particular scenes are not very good either. However, I wanted to report this issue anyway.
Anyone else tried this bonus disc?
If so, was the audio in sync for this feature?

Just had my first bug report for quite some time. :(
Doing a full movie backup to BD9 of Funny People D2, the bonus feature's disc. There is some pretty bad audio sync problems on the "Prank Calls-1990" features.
This feature represents five .m2ts files, 00173.m2ts to 00177.m2ts. The first is not off by much, but the rest are off considerably.
From the log:
- [19:42:26] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00174]
- [19:42:29] Reencoding: VID_00174 (18 of 106)

Hmmm... I'll check it out. What codec are you using for VC-1? FFDSHOW/WMV9?
These particular clips are mpeg-2, 480i, 29.970fps, 4:3.
I have VC-1 disabled in FFDSHOW, and WMP 11 installed.
Libmpeg2 for mpeg-2 codec in FFDSHOW

Libmpeg2 for mpeg-2 codec in FFDSHOW I have it loaded now -- yep, wrong assumption. I saw that all the first files were VC-1 and throught they all were.
I'll check it out.

Yes, Ice age 3 also worked here after i updated anydvd.
Thanx for the help to the people who helped me get on the right track, and thanx to jobbs for a great program.
6.6.0.4 worked fine with IceAge III Region B here.

Another glitch to report - Audio sync issues with titles that are split up into several M2TS files, for example those seamless branching theatrical/extended editions like Terminator Salvation.
In many of the extended scenes, the sound goes out of sync with the picture, then back to normal on the "common" scenes... and this is converted on a plain-jane Windows XP system, with 31.02, and happens on all Blu-ray players I have tested with.
I also had this problem on an earlier version of the program, with the movie Walk Hard.
Any suggestions?

I've updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest version of BD-RB (v0.31.03). Changes for this release:
- Corrected an error in which could result in audio sync
issues. This was related to the depth of search for
pulldown in MPEG-2 and VC-1 sources.
- Updated the DirectShow configuration routine to check
all FFDSHOW settings and execute if any are not set
correctly.
- Added a new hidden parameter. "FORCE_NOENCODE=1" will
tell BD Rebuilder to keep the origina video intact, no
matter what size. Note that if you have "FORCE_ENCODE"
set as well, encoding will take precedence.
- Added the "--nal-hrd" option to the X264 command line
to provide better Blu-ray compatibility (as opposed to
depending upon TSMUXER).
- Add a new hidden parameter. "WEIGHTP=n" enables or
disables explicit weighted prediction on p-frames. This
is to counter several reports of "blockiness" on systems
that do not properly support it. Setting "WEIGHTP=1"
will enable the feature, the default value is set to "0"
in order to avoid having to explain the issues. Note,
however, that the reported issues are in the players --
not the encoder or feature itself.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1354). Also now use a version that
includes the "--nal-hrd" patch.
- Corrected an error in which "576p" was not displayed
properly in the streams list when detected.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I just downloaded and installed 0.31.03 from the link on the first post. I started a DVD-9 transcode: extracting A/V streams completed and when it got to the point where BD Rebuilder was performing the "crf" analysis it crashed with the typical Microsoft popup stating x246.exe had crashed and would I like to report it to Microsoft. I rebooted the computer and got the same problem again at the same point.
Running XP Pro x64 fully patched, BD-R was set to transcode to DVD-9, x264, High Quality, 1 pass crf.
Here is the last entry from the log file:

I just tried it on mine and CRF is working correctly. Have you changed anything else recently?
It would help if you copied the command line in LASTCMD.TXT (in the BD-RB directory) and pasted it into a command window. That way we could see what error X264 is encountering.
You may want to check the version of FFDSHOW you are using. I had some crashing with an earlier version on my Win7 x64 system and after upgrading to Revision 3133 it went away.

Sorry, didn't see the last part your post about "lastcmd.txt". Here it is:
"C:\BD-RBV03103\BD_Rebuilder\tools\x264.exe" "E:\BDREBUILDER\WORKFILES\TEMP.AVS" --preset medium --weightp 0 --slow-firstpass --qpmin=0 --crf 21.65 --level 4.0 --sar 1:1 --aud --nal-hrd --vbv-bufsize 14500 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 1 --ipratio 1.1 --pbratio 1.1 --vbv-maxrate 17500 --threads auto --thread-input --stats "E:\BDREBUILDER\WORKFILES\TEMP.MKV.stats" --pass 1 --output "E:\BDREBUILDER\WORKFILES\TEMP.MKV"
No, I didn't change anything except update to the new version of BD-R.

No, I didn't change anything except update to the new version of BD-R. Try the FFDSHOW I mentioned. I'm wondering if this (highlighted) change for this version of X264 may have an impact:

I just downloaded and installed ffdshow 3137, I tried to resume the transcode and immediately got a crash relating to x254.exe. I am starting, again, from the beginning and will advise if it works with the new ffdshow 3137.
