Anyone have trouble with the pip on Twilight: Breaking Dawn Region A. I usually have good success with DTS Express and PiP, but with this particular movie the sound plays from the dts express, but the picture in picture frame and video do not appear in hardware and software players. Also another odd thing is if you jump around the video with pip enabled it will basically freeze Total Media Theater. The original image before running it through bd rebuilder works fine.

They release versions of FFDSHOW fairly often, last time I checked. That would make things very BUSY for Jdobbs LOL! Not a big deal for me to test myself. If there's an issue relating to FFDSHOW, simply rollback and see what happens ;) I think some people are simply afraid to get their hands dirty LOL! Nah, they just wanna click click burn. Which I guess I can appreciate. I've been there. And for some people, these jobs do take a fair amount of time ;)
It probably wouldn't be a big deal -- but in my experience it isn't unusual for something in a new release to cause issues -- and they often don't show themselves for a month, two, or even more. With FFDSHOW there could be any number of releases in that period.
The latest version I've tested without issues is r4422. I'll probably add that one to the "Ok" list on the next release -- but in the meantime FFDSHOW has moved all the way to r4489.

Should I use the 32 or the 64bit version of ffdshow?

You should use the one from the first page of this thread that jdobbs has the link for. ;)

OK, that's clear for me, but jdobbs wrote: "The latest version I've tested without issues is r4422". And this release exists in both versions (32bit and 64bit). So my question is: Can BD Rebuilder to work with the 64bit version of ffdshow, or not?
(I would use the 64bit version ffdshow in MPC-HC, but if it causes problems with BD Rebuilder, I prefer to install the 32bit version of both programs: ffdshow + MPC-HC)

I had x264.exe crash on me during a reencode, but that's not the bug I'm reporting here. BD-RB is alternately reporting that I both do and do not have the correct version of x264: it reports as "OK" when running Inspect.exe (as does everything else), but reports as "Wrong version found" in the log file. I'm running v. 0.42.04 and I have not replaced any of the contents of the BD-RB zip file.
inspect.exe results:

Hi,
i still have problems selecting playlist with specific angles. In "select other movie playlist", i select playlist 00800 / Angle2, but the stream list is exactly the same as playlist 00800 one. BDinfo gives me a different stream list for angle2. so, it seems that selecting an angle is not taken into account (or i miss something somewhere :))

After all this time, can you arrange to have the name of this sub-forum changed so that it inlcudes a reference to "BD-Rebuilder" (in addition to the present reference to ONLY "DVD Rebuilder")?

i am unable to play recorded bd's on my set top boxes. the disks play great on my pc tho. the last disk i was able too play on a set top box was using bd-rebuilder v4203, everything else is the same. i am using the software versions listed on the bd-rebuilder release page. this happened on 2 different movies on 3 different set tops (sony and samsung). settings are movie only, output target 25gb, and use imgburn. help, please!

4203 recently expired. So I reconfigured 4204. I've encoded and burned one disc. Battleship. I had zero issues, except for an audio issue, which seems to be the LG player that played it. The audio glitches (4) were however short lived. So I won't replace the player just yet. I don't buy $ony, and I had a samsung flake out VERY early. So I can't comment on your experience. But BD-RB 4204 seems to be fine here.

I've done several rebuilds with v4204 which play fine on my Sony BDP-S580. So it doesn't seem like BDRB would likely be the problem, Marco. I'd suggest removing BDRB and its helper apps and reinstalling fresh.

There's nothing that dramatic that changed in the release, and i've done at least 10-15 discs in testing, so I have to believe there is some problem other than BD-RB. As was suggested, try a complete uninstall/reinstall of all apps.

Which movies are we talking about? What type of BD-R's? My samsung was VERY picky about what type of recordable media it would play. LTH taiyo yuden for instance, only half of them played. Movie only seemed to help increase the odds of playability though. The LG simply plays everything I throw at it. Of course now it may be showing signs of failure. Reminds me of the early DVD era. They just couldn't make a decent Dvd player! I guess Oppo may be what the doctor ordered. Pretty spendy though.

I can't see how this would be a BDRB problem without LOTS of people calling out for help. Are you sure you are burning the discs the same way? Have your ImgBurn settings changed at all. Are you burning the discs as UDF 2.5? Have you changed media types?
I would bet that if you now stepped back to the previous version of BDRB you would see the same thing. BTW, you can step back by simply setting the clock back on your PC. This should get by the "expired version" notice. Just set the date back about 1 month and it should work. This presumes, of course, that you didn't delete the older version when upgrading to the current version.

Check that they're not LTH discs, some players don't like them. (They'll be yellow/gold on the writable side instead of the darker browny/blue colour of HTL discs)

Another thought... did you recently do a firmware update on your players? Not likely the problem, since 2 players exhibit the same thing, but still a possibility.

Your burner may be dying - try running a cleaning disc on it. Maxell makes one that sells for about $10US...

You have "movie only" mode enabled, so that episode, playlist 00076 is what is listed.
If you want a "full backup", you need to enable it so the entire disc will be displayed. ;)

I've tried TSMuxer with meta file and I've the same error "Can't open file: E:\RIPS\WORKFILES\00001.track_4113.264"...
Also I can't play .264 with Windows Media Player and FFDShow coder :-/
Edit : When I demux with TSMuxer Gui, I have this message : "H.264 stream does not contain fps field. Muxing fps=24"
Edit 2 : I have found the problem. In the meta file, I have this line :
"V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "E:\RIPS\WORKFILES\00001.track_4113.264"+"E:\RIPS\WORKFILES\00000.track_4113.264", fps=24"

The first file, VID_00001, is only 339 frames. The second file, VID_00000, is keeping the original file per the log, "Keeping original video (no reencode)".

Is it a bug in BD Rebuilder ? That's very odd. If a track has two parts (indicated by the meta file) it should be impossible for one to be reencoded and not the other. I'll have to take a look at it.

Same error and same thing with Ice Age 3...

Same error and same thing with Ice Age 3... Nobody else is reporting this issue. I'd suggest you uninstall BD-RB and all helper apps and then reinstall using only the links in the first post of this thread and following those instructions exactly.
Are you using any weird settings in the ripper? It is very odd that all these titles seem to be a combination of two (a short and a long) M2TS files. That just doesn't happen very often. It is even stranger that BD-RB isn't finding a playlist that matches it -- if it did then both files would be either reencoded or kept intact (not a mix).
Can you run INSPECT.EXE and post the results?
I'll look around for ICE AGE 3 and give it a run -- I don't remember if I did that one.

A reasonable amount of time has now passed that I feel comfortable in asking an obvious question:
Is your source material a commercial Blu-ray disc, or "something else" that may have had an extra little file ("creator's file") added to the beginning?

Have you seen my INSPECT ? I have uninstall and reinstall without result.
For the ripper, Cosmopolis was made with AnyDVD and Ice Age 3 with DVDFab, both with default settings...
Have you look for Ice Age 3 ?
I'm French, perhaps it's particular to Europe Bluray...
Thanks.

I've used BD-RB to rebuild several BDs to BD25 with success with the exception of 2, so far. They appear to be complete and the log says they are complete but they are only about 17GB. When played they play fine up to about 60% and then only the audio continues; the video freezes. I've tried different settings but they end up the same.
Here are the last two logs.

@houzer
Are you positive you are using the versions of the helper apps that are listed in the first post? What you are describing sure sounds like the video encode is crashing midstream. That is a problem I have seen in the past from "unapproved" versions of FFSHOW. Another possibility is X264 crashing but the crash going unnoticed by BD-RB. That's very rare since BD-RB is looking at the return code from the process to ensure success, but I've seen it happen under unique circumstances. Generally that is caused by overclocking or a system that is overheating.
You might take a look at the video by doing a manual mux of the .264 file in the "workfiles" folder using TSMUXER, just to see if the whole video is there.

I have had a similar instance occur. It was an already encoded BD-25 job, ripped by a reader that's rather questionable, and encoded to MKV. I believe the reading drive was the main culprit. But oddly, the rip played without incident. But when I re-ripped the same disc, with a different drive, problem gone.
A bad BD-Rom/burner can cause this too.

I seem to have older versions of ffdshow and Haali Splitter. I've installed newer versions from your links. I'll try it out tonight and post the results. Thanks for the tips.

Same error and same thing with Ice Age 3...
Make sure you have enough free disk space, I got a similar error when my drive was low and I didn't realize it.

Thanks for the tip but I have enough space (about 200 Go) :)

Nico,
I've had a couple of rebuilds run to completion and then found that the video stopped part way through. The cause, each time, was a bad rip. The original rips looked OK upon a casual inspection, but there was a glitch part way through which, I believe, messed up the continuity of the stream. Close inspection of the original rip, at the position where the problem happened in the rebuild, showed a discontinuity.
