Lately, I've been having issues with BDR creating output files. If I select the option for ImgBurn to make an ISO, the program goes through the encoding (encode and rebuild complete), launches ImgBurn (writing BD structure to ISO file), ImgBurn appears to do its thing (ImgBurn completed successfully), and the jom completes (JOB: XXX finished).

However, either the ISO is not actually created, or it gets deleted. If I subsequently open ImgBurn to burn the ISO, the ISO file is not in the folder where it is supposed to be.

Oddly, if I select output to immediately burn the disk with ImgBurn, that works.

This was never an issue until the last couple of weeks. It happened in 50.04 and now 50.05.Nothing has changed in that area of the software in a long time. But, I'll take a look at it.I tried this several times -- and it worked every time. The ISO (and the MDS) is in the working folder. Is there, perhaps, something strange about your naming? I'm using IMGBURN version 2.5.8.0.

Why use something inferior when you could just post a bug report and get it fixed?

I have to state, though, that in several thousand encodes I don't think I have never seen a 4.0, 4.1, or 5.0 track.

Hi jdobbs,

german Anime BD "Der Mohnblumenberg" has two 5.0 tracks (Ger and Jap), german BD movie "From Beyond" has an Eng 4.0 track, and german BD "Hot Shots! 2" has two 4.0 tracks (Ger and Eng).... as example. I can post mediainfo log and screenshots if required.

regards

Here's a strange thing...
I thought changing the working directory might help. So I clicked on browse, and in the window that appeared were the actual output folders of the job I just ran. If I try to run backup again, I get the dialog to resume current job, and it picks up right at the end of the job, as expected.

These output folders do not show up if I browse to that folder via a GUI file explorer. They're not hidden files or folders. They just aren't there. I speculate that the ISO that should have been created is also one of these "ghost files". Explorer can't find it. ImgBurn (2.5.8) can't find it.

It doesn't make sense to me.

JD, any news about a fix for handling 59.94 FPS with IVTC_SELECTION=1? I also have to keep MULTIPROCESS=0 or setting to 1 or another number...BD-RB 0.50.02 to 0.50.05 crashes on second multipart pass, Alternate MKV 1280x720..keeping AC3. I'm keeping 0.50.01 because I only use it with these TiVo files. Otherwise, 0.50.05 for everything else. With 0.50.05, second pass happens and the video is at 23.976 FPS but the video looks like it's in slow motion while the audio plays at normal speed.

Is a view of what I'm using and not:

MULTIPROCESS=0 (Has to be off or 2nd pass crashes.)
FORCE_ENCODE=0
FORCE_NOENCODE=0
IVTC_SELECTION=1
#IVTC_METHOD=1
#IVTC_480i=1
#IVTC_TELECIDE=1
#DEINTERLACER_TYPE=5
SD_PROGRESSIVE=1 (I know it's not being used for 59.94 FPS files, but...left it in anyway.)

Of course, right click file in list and enable IVTC. I do think this is a bug. Am I correct since it's broken past 50.01?

See attached image.

A is the BDR window, showing workfile path as c:\video\work

B is what appears if I hit the browse button. Note, the workfiles that appear in c:\video\work

C is a command prompt trying to browse to c:\video\work. System cannot find path.

D is GUI explorer of C:\video. Note, no "work" folder

Good News! New LAV Support DTS HD Audio Encoding!

---------------------------
DTS-HD Master Audio

Tuesday March 24th 2015

Good news. The new LAV Audio decoder now supports decoding DTS-HD Master Audio. Previously no free or open source decoder existed for that audio format.

What GUI explorer are you using? I see no way that the file is showing up if you browse from within BD-RB but not from that explorer. There has to be a difference between the times you're browsing in both.

Getting an error during rebuild.

Disc: Outlander season 1 disc 1

Note: the log claims "Aborted per user request" which is not true; I did not press the Abort button at any point. BD-RB popped up an error message which had only one button to click, and once I clicked it, BD-RB stopped the processing.

Please post your BDREBUILDER.INI file contents.

What GUI explorer are you using? I see no way that the file is showing up if you browse from within BD-RB but not from that explorer. There has to be a difference between the times you're browsing in both.

posted below.

I know.... makes no sense. The time is identical

Hmmm, JD will have to tell you exactly what happened, but based upon your FIRST group of logs, if you want to salvage what BDRB has already processed but for some odd reason will not rebuild, you can go the WORKFILES folder and use TSMuxer and import the .264 file (video) and whatever audio and subtitle streams there are that you want, and mux it to a BDMV structure, which is basically what BDRB was supposed to do when it choked.

Just thought I'd mention it in case you didn't know this or you wanted to salvage all the time you had spent already doing the encode...

@sieve

Based on your INI I am confident BD-RB isn't removing that folder. You may try disabling your antivirus software and seeing if that it is, I'd suspect that to be the next most likely culprit.

@colinhunt

The second error appears to be a byproduct of the first. Apparently when it received the first error the routine didn't make a graceful exit and it left a file open. I'll look at that -- it may even help me locate the root cause better. The first (root) error means I've exceeded the bounds of an array.

That section of code has been there for a long, long time -- so I'm thinking it has to be something very unique about that disc.

I uninstalled everything, cleaned out all references to BD rebuilder in the registry, then reinstalled everything. It seems to be working normally now.

New issue:

I'm trying to compile a series of episodes originally on DVD to a single BD. I've done this before, but not in a while.
I perform the import process and everything seems to be working normally. No errors.
But after the import process completes, the content contains only one episode as opposed to the expected 12.
I redid the import process but did not include the one episode.
The content still contained one episode, but it was a different one.

Am I doing something incorrectly?

I suppose it's possible the disc has a new scheme to defeat AnyDVD, but I haven't spent any time researching that yet.

Hi
I request help with this serious error in the encoder x 264-64.exe.

x 264-64 only run a few minutes, and then stops working abruptly giving the famous "appcrash" error.

Here the appcrash error details:

@donnafmcu

Are you overclocked? X264 is failing 27 minutes into the encode. That usually means your processor is overheating and/or failing at that point. X264 is the ultimate test of stability for an overclocked system -- if that's the case, back it down some and try again. If you're not overclocked -- check your heatsink for dust buildup. Even a water-cooled system needs an occasional cleaning.

Thank you very much for your quick response, jdobbs.

I'll check overclocked my motherboard Configuration Setup.

Then I carried out a thorough cleaning of the cooling system and will return to testing.

Then I put in contact again with you to report my results.

Hi
I want to thank your help that you have given to me.

I opened the box, or my desktop computer Cabinet. Then I perform a thorough cleaning of the fans, cooler you also, I also clean the dirt and dust on the heatsink the micro processor cooling grille.

After cleaning deep, BD_Rebuilder, (BD-RBV05005), do not cause any error in the encoder x264-64.exe, and carry out all works and re-encodings without any problem, and none mistake up to 100%

Here I leave you, the registration of the works of BD-RBV05005, carried out without any errors:

You also could start by using the original disc, there's not a chance in hell that that is an original disc. There's no retail disc that uses a disc volume name like that.

Agreed.

Donna, let me ask you why you think JDobbs should help you resolve this issue? The source is clearly a rip, downloaded from somewhere on the web. It may or may not be BD compliant,... how would he know? He could well end up chasing problems that are caused not by BD-RB, but solely because of something someone else did to that file.

Furthermore, helping someone use illegally sourced movie files would put this Doom9 site in legal jeopardy. I doubt you'll receive any further assistance.

This all right, if you claim that I am putting at risk this page and the Doom9 Forum, I have another alternative that proceed immediately with the task to take down completely my user, and my profile, to leave entirely to Doom9.

From my point of view, you would have to show and unhide the evidence of the crime that you accused me. This very bad to be the accuser, judge, and executioner of accusing a user without presenting evidence supporting alleged and hypothetical crime.

That you slight his work of accuser, judge, and executioner...

I am having trouble with bd-rebuilder since 2/2015, I can never answer the "random Questions" properly but that should not make it impossible for me to ask questions, I did DOnate maybe more then mosy, and I don't intend to waist space on paragraphs like this one ONCE I can ask like a normal person.

So I will try over and over till I get the random question right, then edit this post.

I cannot convert ANY Blu-ray to DVD using BDrebuilders "Movie Only" feature. I've tried everything reloaded everything tried:

force_encode=1
for_encodeing=1
Keep_hd_dts_hd xxl=0
Hd_aud.0xx=0
Override_avchd_limit=1

I've re-installed EVERYTHING 2 times, and tried all the internal settings and still get Video w/o audio for "DTS-HD XLL" audio files in the movies.

I am TOTALLY buggered out.... This began happening right after the CLONEBD install this year and Clonedvdmobile another Slysoft product also took a nosedive. I noticed reviewing the the DVD's (using mediainfo) created that the vts_01_1.vob had 1 video and up to 3 audio streams whereas the rest of the vts_02 and on were missing the audio streams.

In several cases with multiple audio languages the foreign languages came through or the commentary came through when the primary failed.

I saw similar cases ranging from 2008 posted on doom9 and elsewhere but ALL the solution presented failed, what is the right combinations I may need in ffdshow, bdrebuilder (and special flags as stated above) or tricks to get this to work with reasonable aggravation using BDrebuilder ?

I really hate to babble on or fill this forum with logs but I've tried for over 2 months to fix it and the combinations of elements are so excessive that it would be another year to get it JUST right.

Any clues?

- BD Rebuilder v0.38.0.3, Ok

This version is way outdated. Current version is v0.50.05

Secondly: Has your source "THE_SIGNAL_NA_00800" been preprocessed by CLONEBD or whatever?

@duftopia

I think you are running an old version of INSPECT. That program is no longer a part of BD-RB. You need to execute INSPECT from the HELP menu. Also, you provided the INF file -- but what I'd really need to see is the contents of BDREBUILDER.INI.for_encodeing=1
Keep_hd_dts_hd xxl=0
Hd_aud.0xx=0
Override_avchd_limit=1I have no idea what these settings are or where you got them... I'm guessing that some of what you intended are actually OVERRIDE_AVCHD_AUDIO_LIMIT, KEEP_HD_AUDIO, and FORCE_ENCODING.whereas the rest of the vts_02 and on were missing the audio streamsThis is confusing to me... are you talking about CLONEBD? There is never a "VTS_02" created by BD-RB -- as it only does movie-only backups to DVD.

We don't need to provide any more proof than what you already provided yourself with the disc volume label in that log. No retail disc uses a volume label like that! Not even 1. The chances your source is an original disc is non-existent

I am using the latest bd-rebuilder v0.50.05

This is a RIP using Anydvd HD version 7.5.9.0

I've further tried converting the dts audio file to ac3 (using an external program called avatar) and inserting it into the workfile directory as another recommended solution but that also failed

BD-Rebuilder creats a standard type of dvd structure that includes all the .vob files, ifo etc...

* I am NOT CREATEING a BD5, BD9 blu0ray structured directory - I am creating a movie only DVD structure.

Thanks

Does this problem exist for this source only, or do you get the same problem with other discs too?

Edit1:
I don't have your disc, but I just did a Blu-ray to DVD backup, 2 audio and 3 sups, and all worked fine. No problem here.

In the DVD output folder you should see in the Video_ts folder:
Video_ts.bup
Video_ts.ifo
Vts_01_0.ifo
Vts_01_0.bup
Vts_01_1.vob
Vts_01_2.vob
Vts_01_3.vob
Vts_01_4.vob

but no Vts_02_xxx because you have only 1 title (1 movie).

Perhaps something is strange with your source file.
I would suggest to delete the existing rebuilder.ini and let BD_RB generate a new rebuilder.ini which you do not modify. I am not sure about the validity of the options:
DTSX_ENABLE=0
[OVERRIDE_AVCHD_AUDIO=1]
KEEP_HD_DTS_HD XXL=1

Edit2:
You could play the Vts_01_x.vob with a SW player like MPC-HC or VLC. Do you get the audio?
Or when you inspect the .vob with MediaInfo, does the audio stream show up or is it missing?
Is the Disc Cinavia protected?

@duftopia

What are you using to burn the DVD? I see nothing that would cause an issue, and it looks like the job is completing without error. As Sharc mentioned, you have a few nonsensical settings -- but they should have no effect. One thing I notice is that you have MODE=3 in your INI. That means that at least at the time you printed the INI you aren't in movie-only mode (although your log shows you were at the time of the apparently successful encode).

Using your log and INI file as a reference, you should look for a folder called "U:\HOLD\THE_SIGNAL_NA_DVD". That is what should be burned to disc. That folder should also contain a VIDEO_TS folder (which is indicative of a DVD structure). You can simply select it with ImgBurn -- which will check itself for correct DVD settings (they are different than BD) and burn it appropriately. Make sure you don't override it's suggestion and try to burn in the wrong format.

i have 2 issues relating to quick play backup.
1) how can i get quick play backup to eliminate the extras that are less than 35 min in length?
2) how can i set the quick play menu to NOT say feature presentation ... and SAY S1 E1 etc, my input is being ignored for the episode titles,
the main title i can change and it take that.
and it always seems to find 3 titles, 2 that are real episodes and 1 that is abunch of extras combined, like deleted scenes that i don't want.

thanks for your help.

thanks for your help.1) You can set the threshold (in minutes) via the menu in "SETTINGS/Import/Quick-Play Settings". The default is 15 minutes.

2) You can make the menu say anything you want: "Click MODE/Edit Quick-Play Menu", click on the title you want to edit (in the list), and edit the title name in the provided area. It's a lot easier if your source has been copied to a hard drive. There has been at least one report of problems when trying to edit directly from a disc -- although I haven't been able to repeat it (it works fine for me).

thanks for your response.
1) You can set the threshold (in minutes) via the menu ... worked fine.

2) i cannot make it says what i want ... it keeps defaulting to

01. Feature Presentation: [00:59:33.611]
02. Feature Presentation: [00:50:55.510]

despite the fact i want it to be S1 E1, etc.
it doesn't take.
it is an decrypted, mounted, .iso file, not that it should make a difference,
but i won't say what i put in the above fields, and keeps defaulting to

01. Feature Presentation: [00:59:33.611]
02. Feature Presentation: [00:50:55.510]

how can i fix???
thanks

1. Mount the ISO.
2. Copy the contents to a folder on your hard drive.
3. Use the new folder as input to BD Rebuilder.

But.... as I mentioned, I just mounted an ISO on my computer and had no issues editing the menu.

jetli
2nd April 2015, 00:56
i copied files out of .iso ... it works!
the menu used to keep reverting to feature presentation every time you change exit and enter, and the results were always feature presentation.
now the menu stay at what i set it to and the results are good.

thanks for your help.

next question ...
if i have, 2 features out of 15, that i want, and those 2 are just bigger than a bd25 with multi languages and, let's say i want just english and
i eliminate the rest as usual, and let's say it set it to bd25 output THEN ...
how does your program know if i need compression and how much to give to each of the titles and
not over compress knowing that i only want 2 titles not 15, and eliminating alot of unneeded languages?

thanks

I erased the bd rebuilder.ini file and started FRESH, still got the same results:

Yes you are correct about the vts files they are all 01-x where x goes up 1,2,3,4...

Mediainfo shows vts-01-1.vob HAS a video stream and 1 or more audio streams - (Ac-3) the rest of the .vob files are missing all audio streams

When I play ANY of the .vobs 1-5 in media player, vlc and powerplayer 9 they all lose the audio (dts-hd Xll sound file?).

ALL bds since installation of CloneBD earlier this year have gone awry with the same failure to convert to DVD issue in BD-Rebuilder.

I am NOT trying to burn the image yet since I have already created my share of cup holder dvds without audio.

The video_ts folders and structures are created exactly as stated, I will look into the mode flag, but it seems (mode=3 is movie only mode? also custom and target size #'s look odd but the folders mention ARE created correctly

ALL bds since installation of CloneBD earlier this year have gone awry with the same failure to convert to DVD issue in BD-Rebuilder.

How about uninstalling CloneBD?
Did you deselect or modify some (audio) streams of the original with CloneBD before feeding it to BD-RB?
Can you post what MediaInfo reports from your source file?

Sharc

2. Copy the contents to a folder on your hard drive.
3. Use the new folder as input to BD Rebuilder.

But.... as I mentioned, I just mounted an ISO on my computer and had no issues editing the menu.
Does this work for 3D (.ssif) structures as well?

Strange, I am absolutely sure that the quick-menu editing from ISO worked well here until recently. No idea as to why few of us have issues now. Windows update? Specific workflow? Interestingly, it seems not to fail consistently. I can always edit the Main Title but not the titles. I also noticed that the path of the Import folder is not fully copied to the main window of BD-RB. It gets truncated, but otherwise has no negative effect. I just mention this because it might have the same root cause e.g. something wrong with the string handling or similar. Just guessing .....

jdobbs
2nd April 2015, 13:26
Does this work for 3D (.ssif) structures as well?Yes, it should -- but I'm not sure if I've tested Quick-Play with 3D. You'll notice, however, that it will take up about twice as much space (because of the redundant data in the SSIF folder).

The Invisible (2007)
This is a rather curious backup! Media info can't make heads or tails of the main .m2ts stream. This may be more of a question than a bug report. I set my output for 8150MB. The result is 6.27GB. A far cry from 7.98GB. With LPCM audio I wasn't sure what to expect. Especially considering Mediainfo couldn't read it properly. I generally keep HD audio, because any compressed stream cannot support 7.1, eh? Though I'm aware this stream is only 6 channel. So I'll be running it again, compressing the audio. Though I must admit, the video looks pretty good for under 3GB!

The last two directories here, appear to be split files of the main .WAV file. Split at 3.99GB. Reminds me of the FAT32 limitation. Since NTFS isn't governed by that limitation, is it a .WAV limitation? The First directory is what appears to be compressed .WAV. The original .WAV is 4.94GB, the resulting .WAV for muxing is 3.29GB. Why would it do this?
"U:\1 MKV movies\WORKFILES\00001.track_4352.wav"
"U:\1 MKV movies\WORKFILES\VID_00001.AVS.264"
"U:\1 MKV movies\WORKFILES\00001.track_4352.2.wav"
"U:\1 MKV movies\WORKFILES\00001.track_4352.1.wav"

I'll also be posting in the requests thread, relating to this particular title.

Looks like I may have another bug report as well. The number 23 output, is very strange. lol In fact, looks like all three titles in my batch backup, failed in one way or another. DGDecNV was the frame server throughout. Could be interesting to see how X264/LAVF handles it. Now I'm beginning to wonder if my DGDecNV is properly registered...

The command prompt can't find the directory because you've got the slash the wrong way in the command - it should be

Ugh... now data integrity is becoming a question. I procrastinate... so I've got a few titles left on my hard drive, that's more than a year old. I suspect a bad rip with "Mercury Rising". "The invisible" is still curious though. And "The Number 23" nearly doubled in length. Odd behavior like that, and how mercury rising came out, make me suspect bad rip. I usually rename folders according to the drive that read the disc. Since they didn't have it, I'm now wondering about my oldest LG drive :'(

jdobbs
3rd April 2015, 00:13
I no longer buy LG drives... after several that each went bad after about a year (why did I keep buying them?) I switched to Pioneer. It's one of the better decisions I've made.

omegaman7
3rd April 2015, 01:35
There is a chance that it was the iHES108 drive. Took me several rips to discover that one was a lemon. But I still used it, because the discs were brand new. Clearly it didn't need dust dirt or oil to create bad rips :(
Pioneer has been revered since the beginning. They were expensive, and LG was getting agreeable reviews at the time. You do get what you pay for though :S

Did you read my other post? I'm rather curious about your thoughts on the .WAV issue.

And I'm wondering if "The Number 23" was a seamless branching issue. I find it curious that it's the first one I've seen in quite some time, with a problem. And of course, it could be a coincidence. It could be something else.
