How does the directory structure look like in there?
Do you have a BDMV/STREAM directory there beneath?

As to the sizing problem, I think my brother has the Transformers BluRay, will borrow it tomorrow.

@jdobbs:
Its a wanted feature from me and some others also asked about it.

Do you plan to support DGVC1DecNV/DGAVCDec/DGMPGDec in near future?

Its not the installation of the software, at least in my case... everything has been fine for each of a dozen movies copied before "Finding Neverland" with LPCM, and every movie done afterwards. All the successful movies used either True HD or HD Master.

jdobbs
3rd January 2009, 01:37
Ok. Let me see if I get this straight. You work fine unless there is an LPCM track in the movie? Also, is this in "FULL" or "MOVIE-ONLY" mode?

Is anyone else seeing that kind of problem on Eur BDs? Is there anyone out there that has processed Eur BDs without seeing a wild sizing problem?

Jdobbs, The "Target to small to continue" error only happens when we select "Full Backup" on a EUR Blu-ray. There is no problems if we select "Movie Only".
:thanks:

Yes sir! That's correct.. This was a "Movie Only" copy. Once I finish the one I'm on now... I can try it again with AC3 or whatever other way you need me to try. Full or Movie Only doesn't matter to me.

:thanks:The "Target too small to continue" means that the source has other files (non video files) that add up to more than will fit on the output target. If BD-RB is miscalculating the total input size, that might be the key... but I just don't understand how it is getting a value that is larger than the directory...

I have no way of checking this... so I'm going to add a special debug mode for the next version that will output all filenames and file sizes it finds in the source path (to a text file). You can then send me the text file so I can see what's going on. What I also don't understand is why others are using it with EUR BD discs and not experiencing the issue.

As it turns out the copy I was working on was the same movie, "Finding Neverland". A Movie Only copy, using AC3 Multi-Channel instead of LPCM turned out perfect. Maybe I don't have something, someplace enabled? I can follow directions, click buttons, and know the difference between good and bad results, but I don't know much about the technical workings of video conversion.

jdobbs
3rd January 2009, 03:11
No -- there's probably a bug. LPCM is treated differently than other sources in a couple of places. I'll go pick up "Finding Neverland" and run it through as a test in MOVIE-ONLY mode.

ok jdobbs, got my BD-RE's today and burnt the movie Batman (the cheesy old one, POW BANG POOF) and it plays, menu works, it's seen as a BD-RE disc on the PS3, only issue is........no audio, i try changing all tracks, and none of them playback any audio.........formatting the disc now and trying with another movie to see.

as for aften i grabbed the new version from that post earlier in this thread and it works with it, so it's a go.

I am finding that every movie I now try comes with the error 76 message then the app quits.

I thought that was odd so tried to recode a previously succesfull full movie (pulp fiction) and it still crashes.

I have tried reinstalling ffdshow and avisynth etc. also copied a new set of files over the old ones for bd-rb and still no luck.

Have to work now but will try again later.

Hi!

I have done National Treasure 2 again with the latest version (0.17.12, last time 0.17.09):
- Target BD25
- Full Copy
- Reencode all Audio (none of the Audio checkboxes checked)

Really all is working, only there is no audio in menu (Menu Audio is LPCM) and the trailers in before the main menu are in english language.

On the original with AnyDVD enabled, the trailers are german language (when I select german before at the "pre-menu", when the disc is inserted).

I have checked the original trailer m2ts files, they have eng-fre-ger languages (in this row) AC3 multi-ch and I deselected only french.

To bad, I deleted the encode already. Will try now I am legend.

I have the same "target too small" error with the US version of "The Dark Knight."

[04:32:31] BD Rebuilder v0.17.11 (beta)
- Input BD size: 105.90 GB
- Approximate total content: [03:47:34.132]
- Target BD size: 7.72 GB
- Target too small. Encode stopped.

I haven't had time to try the newest Beta yet. The Ripped (with AnyDVD) directory is actually only 37.9GB's total!

Minor issue - no selection for "Spanish" in the pull down list. Important for me- im trying to learn the language!

jdobbs
3rd January 2009, 13:28
It is in the list... Spanish(spa), between (sot) and (sqi). The list is sorted on the three letter designators, although its a little difficult to see that with the text shown first. I do think I should rebuild the list so the most common languages are collected at the top. Spanish it too popular to require scrolling down several pages to find.

I have some issues concerning I am legend, German release.

There is a theatrical version and an alternate version on the disc.

The alternate is from the filesize bigger (18GB vs 16GB), so it takes it as the main movie, but the theatrical should be, or both.

So its not possible to use the quick encode for extras, since it would make the theatrical version only 1 pass.

And I think it also uses less bitrate for the theatrical version than for the alternate version, or?

One additional thing. The disc is VC1 only and FFDShow again has some problems with it (hangs). Switching to WMV9 seems to help, but i am not sure, if I get distortions with it again (happened at Mummy 3), need to check, when its done.

I just updated the first post of this thread to link to BD Rebuilder v0.17.13. Here are the changes:

- Corrected an error in which a source that uses LPCM
input was crashing with MOVIE-ONLY mode.
- Fixed a "Runtime Error 9" that could occur when a
source did not have a language code set.
- Added a temporary setting in the config file, example:
SPECIAL_DEBUG_FILE="C:\PATHTO\DEBUG.TXT"
This is meant to list all files and sizes found in the
BD Source path individually in the selected output text
file so I can debug incorrect sizing that has been
reported.
- Updated AFTEN to the most recent SVN version.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.
(Edit - 11:10 ET) Whoops. The first posted ZIP was a little screwed up. I just uploaded it again.

I fixed my problem with the target size problem. I made a image file with imgburn from the decrypted files and loaded that image file into deamon tools. Now the pc thinks Ì have a bluay disc inserted but this one is allready decrypted so rebuilder can work with it.

P.s my decoding speed is 0.19x I have a dual core amd 4200+.

Also, can proggy be set so you ca nencode right away to be sure ffdshow set up ok? that is one pass encode right away?

SPECIAL_DEBUG_FILE="c:\DEBUG.TXT"

Then just close BD-RB, open it again, and point to the directory. It will create a file called DEBUG.TXT that will record all the files in the path and their sizes. I'd really like to see why it is doing this. The DEBUG.TXT file may be large, so please mail it to dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com

Thanks.

P.s my decoding speed is 0.19x I have a dual core amd 4200+. I found out what was causing this. The API function I was using when checking the file sizes has a limit of 128 characters for the path -- the example I got via e-mail exceeded that. So my routine was returning erroneous values.

If you limit the path to 128 characters or less it will work correct. In the meantime, I will change my code to use an alternate API function.

I`m glad you found the problem. Hopefully I can report my firt working copy of Transformers tomorrow.

By default it reencodes to AC3. You can choose to keep it -- but it will still be down-converted (just not reencoded).

By default it reencodes to AC3. You can choose to keep it -- but it will still be down-converted (just not reencoded).

Maybe you can put a new option in the future to keep the HD audio tracks as original? In a few months the BD-R will be a lot cheaper. When reencoding to dvd9 I understand that the original audio track is way to big.

jdobbs
4th January 2009, 02:31
I plan to do that. I would assume that at some point BD-R will be the preferred target. The BD-5/9 is a nice option -- especially for movie-only, but when BD-R 25's get cheaper than $1 (they're already around $6 US) they will probably be the way to go. That's where I see BD-RB really shining. Of course, it also requires a BD Burner -- but they're also getting cheaper.

My problem is that now that I have experienced HD at 1080p -- I'm just not satisfied with anything less anymore.

I was able to live just fine without Blu-Ray copies until you came up with this bright idea... Now I think I need to copy every Blu-Ray movie I own, on top of the 1,000's of DVDs I already own. Like I don't already enough to keep me busy...

Do you have mpeg2 enabled in ffdshow? I think I also had to enable AVISynth initially.

As for updates, I just unzip them into a new folder and simply change the target for my desktop shortcut.

Sure do Pony, retrying perfect storm again........ just a sec here........ which is supposed to be used libavcodec or libmpeg2 ? I'm using the former. Since I have DVDRB avisynth should be floating around somewhere..... I would think.

I'm doing the Dark Knight BR, but if the first pass had a 0,47 speed the second pass has only 0,10, so every BD Rebuilder work will last for more than 24 hrs
Does anybody knows why ? (E6400, 2GB, Vista 32)
