Hello, I'm trying to shrink Big Trouble in Little China and the program runs fine through phase one and creates all the necessary files, but when Phase Two starts I get this error:

11/07/09 [02:29:23] CopyDirStructure() 00076 1200

In the target folder there is a sort of loop that occurs where inside the BDMV folders is another folder with the target folders name and inside that is a folder with the disc name, and inside that the target folder and so on and so forth.
I tried taking the created *.m2ts files and *.clpi files, etc. and replacing them into the original files and it worked except for some reason it played the first chapter 5 times in a row, or on my PS3 kept a still image until the 6th chapter was supposed to start and began from there. Ultimately it caused the last 10 min. or so to be cut off during playback.

Now I've also done G.I. Joe and it seemed to work fine and works fine with PowerDVD, but on my PS3 is stuck at the beginning with a black screen.

SOLUTION to Windows 7 (32 and 64bit) VC-1 video with AviSynth

1) Install ffdshow rev3124_20091103_clsid both generic and x64 builds consecutively.

Load up the ffdshow directshow video config utility for both 32bit and 64bit, and select "libavcodec" for VC-1. It is disabled by default. If you can't find it, it is underneath the "WMV" codecs in the list.

Download from http://www.codecguide.com/windows7_preferred_filter_tweaker.htm and run Win7DSFilterTweaker (make sure you have done the above step first).

ffdshow should now be an option for VC-1 in both 32bit and 64bit sections. Select them.

Reboot the computer.

It should now work in AviSynth.
These steps also of course, stop ffms2.dll from being used.

did Brothers Bloom to BD25 movie only twice and get a output file that is 7.29GB and looks pretty bad. What could be causing this one?

I'm downsizing a BluRay that has 4 very small (~12K) m2ts files.... I set the minimum m2ts size to anything (I've tried 1, 100, 200) and BD-Rebuilder wants to rebuild these small files even though they're under the minm2ts size.... When I set it to 3000 (to just rebuild the largest, then it doesn't try to rebuild the small ones). I'm rebuilding from a 50G to a 25G (actually using a 23800 target size, since the default size seems to undersize a fair bit).

The menu also doesn't work if the rebuild of these small files happens.... (This is the WG SW1 BluRay - a fan BluRay)....

BTW - I currently resize everything to 720p, then replace the clpi and m2ts and playlist of the main movie with the original, and run a 2nd time to make the main movie 1080p (the 2nd time, I set the minm2ts size large enough to just redo the main movie) - it would be great if you'd add leaving the main movie 1080p as an option!

Hi!This is the WG SW1 BluRay - a fan BluRayIf this means that your source material is somethig other than a purchased, commercial BluRay disc, you should not be posting about it at the Doom9 Forums, for at least two reasons...

I think he's probably referring to the Star Wars set created from the German and UK HDTV transmissions with the DTS dvd audio.
I have got to say that my only concern would be that the mastering process may not be compliant and hence a bit of a red-herring bugwise. I actually admire these fans who go to ridiculous lengths to provide something that isn't available as you know that the people producing them, and probably downloading them, have purchased several versions over the years and coughed up each time Mr Lucas needed an injection of cash.

mikeq
14th November 2009, 00:19
It's true - it might not be compliant since it's not an original mastered BluRay from a studio, but the problem seems so obviously wierd I thought I'd bring it up.... However, it does play using normal computer software and in my Sony BluRay player, so it can't be too wierd. And it seems like a size filter is pretty straightforward, unless there's some odd linkage with another m2ts that is being resized forcing one of these small guys to be resized....

@mikeq

As I mentioned before, there are TWO reasons you shouldn't be posting about this source material at the Doom9 Forums - one has to do with an inviolate "thou shalt not" rule "jdobbs" has established for the BD-RB subforum and the other has to do with a similar but stronger "thou shalt not" rule estabished by "Doom9" for all of the Doom9 forums and sub-forums...

mikeq
14th November 2009, 06:59
Fine - jdobbs can ignore the post, or the moderators can censure me. I've contributed a few time to jdobbs over the years, so I don't feel too bad mentioning something that might be slightly off from what he normally wants (he's certainly free to not look at it), and I certainly own enough copies of this "copyrighted" material (2 versions of laserdiscs and all of the DVDs, as well as Hidef video captures on my DVR [at least as HiDef as Dish Network gives you]). If I could purchase BluRays, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

It really doesn't matter how many versions of this or any other movie you have. If THIS movie isn't in the proper Blu-Ray format and structure as the source material for BD-Rebuilder...its not a reportable bug. jdobbs has made this clear over and over. I'm sure he doesn't mind chasing bugs, but they need to be from a source that he can verify and attempt to duplicate the error. I'm sure you understand that.

If you're not using actual Blu-Ray original source discs, there are many other ways to do whatever conversions you need to get done, without using a program that clearly isn't designed for the material you have.

It works great, ffms2.dll is no longer been use and VC-1 coded video is once again working and no more sync problem in win7. :)

Glad to hear it works. jdobbs might want to have BD-Rebuilder check for this? It'll certainly stop a lot of complaints.

I did a movie only to BD9, also Region A, with no problems. Using XP Pro SP3, 32bit.
You would be suprised at the least expecting software install or hiccups that can make for chaos. :p

I uninstalled Lightroom and a couple of other programs. I re-expanded the BDRB zip to where I ran it from and then ran the same setup. It resumed the previous build and completed fine. I just tried the result in TMT and it seems to work fine.

So... as you guys suggested, probably nothing in BDRB, just the minor change in my setup.

Thanks for the help.

I've done a movie only backup on this title and works fine for me. I don't have PS3 but I did make a copy for a friend who does have PS3 and he hasn't complaint on not working. You could try import the finished backup folder to multiAVCHD which does have a better support for PS3, it might solve the problem, I don't know but is worth the try.

THANK YOU!!

Man, I've been looking for this solution. I could not do a backup of I Am Legend and Death Race (both discs with 2 versions of the same movie) without the audio being about 5-7 seconds out of sync. It would work just fine if I ripped the movie alone but never as a complete disc.

Thanks a lot for your post.

JDobbs, my thanks to you for the excellent work on BD Rebuilder. I appreciate the regular improvements and the time it must take to make it happen.

Donation sent - hope it helps you out.

I'd encourage others here to contribute as well. Money well spent.

Another problem in trying to backup Transformers 2 to BD25. All appears to go ok however when viewing the results the video will stop at approx 1:07:30 although the counter & audio continues to movie end. If I skip past this point the video is fine but there is no audio for the rest of the movie. The original rip plays fine and repeating BD Rebuilder produces the identical problem. If I include the directors comments the comments contine but no main audio.
Pretty sure I'm using the latest software required including BD Rebuilder 031.01. OS is Windows 7 64bit.
Rebuild options were movie only, keep HD audio. Burn was with Nero 9 (udf 2.5). Movie was ripped using DVDfab6 (movie only)

Probably not the problem if the original is OK, but ANYDVDHD is probably a better choice.
Burn was with Nero 9 (udf 2.5).
Definately use IMGBurn. It's free, and what the BD-RB author (jdobbs) supports.
More than likely, it's something to do with your OS and codecs. :)

Any help?

Hello, I'm trying to shrink Big Trouble in Little China and the program runs fine through phase one and creates all the necessary files, but when Phase Two starts I get this error:

11/07/09 [02:29:23] CopyDirStructure() 00076 1200

@ChldsPlay;
What did you use to rip the original BluRay?
You should have the original BluRay ripped folder and inside that folder is 2 folders, BDMV and CERTIFICATE.
Then, if you create a new folder, say BTLC BDRB, then open BD-RBV03101, select the original folder as your source path, the new folder you created as your Working, make your selections for either movie only or full backup, select file size, etc.. and click Backup. When complete, you will have a newly created BD-RB folder with the options you selected with your movies name inside the BTLC BDRB folder. It will be ready to burn with IMGBurn.
EDIT:
Post your log file, so this error upon rebuild can be viewed.

Just to add... If you plan on playing it back on a PS3, you need to either make a Movie Only (AVCHD) copy, or a full copy to BD25. A full copy to BD5 (SL DVD) or BD9 (DL DVD) won't play in the PS3.... at least I don't know of it working on a US version of the PS3.

Let me start by saying that all my encodes are going to BD25. I'm having a couple of issues, one is with the PROCESS_SECONDARY=1 hidden option, I paste this into the BDREBUILDER.INI and it still does not let me remove the red X from secondary audio on groundhogs day or twilight both region A which are the only 2 I have that have secondary audio. It seems as though when I put this option in the BDREBUILDER.INI that it should automatically remove the X on it's own since when you save the .INI changes it applies those changes automatically to the current project. Anyway, the work around I found for this was to deselect all languages, then manually remove the red x's from all audio tracks, but this is time consuming and seems to cause another issue.

When I do the above on groundhogs day it seems that now my computer appears hang on about 85% complete when it tries to convert the AC3 using the aften.exe, if I don't do the above and let it cut out the secondary audio it runs through no problem, is there a way to get around this? Now I say appears to hang because there is still hard drive activity, but the progress in the command window is showing 0% so I don't know.

Which brings me to another question, if I have a tick in Do not convert DTS to AC3 (Blu-Ray only), a tick in Do not reencode AC3 (Blu-Ray only), and a tick in Keep HD Audio for BD25 encoding, should it even be converting the audio in the first place? And is it recommended to use any of these options if you don't want any audio loss, or is it noticeable at all?

Another issue I ran in to was with Harry Potter 1 region A, where if I have "quicker" encode for extras activated, it appears to remove all but the main movie and I think 1 trailer, there are a total of 9 different video sets, and this is with the full backup mode ticked. Easily got around this by removing the tick from "quicker" encode for extras, but just thought I would report the bug.

Even with the issues, this is a great program, big fan of your work jdobbs, happily purchased DVD Rebuilder a couple years ago and will happily buy this one as well when it becomes final or whenever you change it to a purchasable program, may even donate a little when I get some extra funds.

Sorry for the winded post, but started using this program last Wednesday, and the doom9 5 day gag order for new members is insane! Anyway thanks for your help!

I have been having this problem since I started using the newer builds of BD-Rebuilder. Today, I tried again using the newest BD-Rebuilder, to see what would happen but same problem: In Movie-Only mode to a BD25 disk the output file was only 8.8GB. The DVD was a retail (Netflix) of Silverado. I ripped it using the latest version of AnyDVD HD. My OS is Win7 x64. Unfortunately, I did not save the ini file from today. This started happening back when I was still running Vista x64, so I think it's a BD-Rebuilder bug and not an Win7 issue. I have successfully backed up about 30 movies running Vista using earlier builds of BD-Rebuilder. That is why I think it has something to do with the newer builds. The way I get around this problem is to select Full-Movie mode. In this mode the output file is ok at 22+GB. But, I am really not interested in preserving all the extras on the DVD that take up space that could go towards better video quality on my backup. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know.

If the secondary audio is DTS Express, BD-RB will not be able to include this audio, since there is no support for it as of yet.

That must be the problem, though the cover art doesn't mention DTS Express, both movies do have the picture in picture feature, thanks for the response!

So what exactly does the PROCESS_SECONDARY= do? "if set to 0, BD-RB will not process secondary audio/video on full backup" does this mean it's on by default?

Thanks Jdobbs, here's the info you asked for. First of all, I tried the Full Backup mode instead of Movie-Only mode and now that mode also produces a very small output file. The output file for Silverado was only 8.9GB.

I've updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest release of BD-RB (v0.31.02). Changes for this version are:- Removed FFMS2.DLL from the installation as a backup
method when FFDSHOW was not being called. It seems
to have caused more problems than it solved.
- Added checks for necessary software installations at
startup to identify shortfalls and help prevent
"failed encoding" errors. Note: You MUST have
HAALI, FFDSHOW, and AVISYNTH installed to run BD-RB
now -- there are too many issues when they are not.
- Added code to configure FFDSHOW as the preferred
CODECs for DirectShow in Windows 7 when not set
correctly. BD-RB also generates a file called
"FF_RESET.BAT" in the BD-RB folder that will reset the
original DirectShow preferences (in case they need to
be restored for some reason). A special thanks to
Atak_Snajpera for his helpful insight.
- Added a batch file "REG_MSCOMCTL.BAT" that can be
used to register the .OCX file when it isn't already.
You may have to run this as Administrator. This step
will not be necesary when the program gets out of
beta and has its own installation package.
- Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
latest release (r1342).
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Yes, it is on by default. You do not have to do anything unless you do not want to have the secondary video at all.
BD-RB will say what type the secondary audio is, and if it is Dolby Digital Plus, it will be enabled. DTS will not.

I don't own a PS3, so I can't help you there.
Definately use BD-RE until you become successful.
Just a thought, the folder you burn should only have the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders, and not a folder within a folder where the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders are.(hope that makes sense) So, for example: if you open the folder GIJOESHRINK, it will have the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders. This is what you burn.

I have tried many different ways to get it running. I have uninstalled many times, I have uninstalled the other required software components to start the installation first with BD_Rebuilder or Uninstall it last and still it doesn’t make a different, that warning message pops up and I can’t use this software. I have built a brand new computer from brand new component parts and VISTA 32 bit O/S. I have used DVDFABHD and ANYDVDHD (purchased) but the dvdfabhd is only a trial version. Component ‘MSCOMCTI.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registerThis can happen on some systems, depending upon the way the O/S was installed. There is a file in the BD Rebuilder folder (make sure you download the latest version: v0.31.02) called REG_MSCOMCTL.BAT. Right click on it and select "Run as Administrator". It will register the .OCX. When the software gets out of beta I'll register it as a part of the installation process. I extract it to the Desktop I highly recommend you create a folder on your hard drive (such as c:\applications\bd_rebuilder) and unzip into that instead of the desktop. Using the Desktop for installation of software isn't a good idea.I have used DVDFABHD and ANYDVDHD (purchased) but the dvdfabhd is only a trial version. The full version, costs a lot and I already pd for the other lifetime support
AnyDVDHD is recommended -- it is an excellent piece of software and I have yet to find a disc that it didn't reliably decrypt. If this bug with BD-rebuilder continues to give me problems, could someone direct me to a better solution in burning from the HHD to a 25GBR-DVD.As of today there are no other ways to do a full disc backup... but there are a couple of ways to manually do movie-only.

That's weird. I've burned 3 discs, all do the same thing. All discs work perfectly with Power_DVD though. The PS3 even displays the GI Joe Icon, and it starts up and has the play symbol in the corner, but it just stays at the black screen. The little film strip thing never pops up before the menu loads.

This is the only movie that hasn't played at all in the PS3 for me.

hello has all here my 1st post, I specify that I am French and that my English is limited enough thus j' use data base rebuilder but j' always have the same problem of sound, impossible to keep is the track its Hd with a brd of 25go or even impossible to keep dts the BDR on a dvd-9 or a dvd-4.7 each time the track its is converted into dolby 5.1, I specify that I notch well put necessary in the menu setup. here a log of my backup of Braveheart in which I wanted to keep the track its in BDR. You probably have "Strict AVCHD" selected. DTS is not supported in the AVCHD standard, so it has to be converted.

Big Trouble in Little China has now run 100% fine without any errors. I'm thinking I may have confused BD RB because I believe I named my target folder "backup" so when it tried to restructure the files it got mixed up with the BACKUP folder in the structure.

You need to post your LOG, INF, and INI files... without them it is just a guess as to what is happening.

Hi jdobbs, I posted the info you requested (Post# 5986).
I was wondering if you had a chance to analyze my problem. Please advise...Many Thanks.

If you decide to download and test -- please post any errors you find in this thread. Don't push bug resolution or keep asking for a fix. I will get to the reported bugs, but only when I can find the time. I'm pretty busy with my real life right now.Just a friendly reminder from the first post of this thread...
