Regarding player the OPPO is considered the best player around so I am not talking about low quality player :)
Experience has shown that the 'best' players are often the most picky ones. 'Nonames' are often more forgiving ;)

Picky and OPPO normally does not mix :sly:
I can assure you that it can play every format you can imagine
Even ISO BD /ISO UHD / Folder BD /Folder UHD / 80gb MKV / Atmos...

Any player that can send the raw audio bitstream down the HDMI pipe can play every audio format. It is up to the audio device to decode the audio bitstream.

I understand that players can make some difference but only the rebuilded version have small shutter problem. If I play original there is no shutter.
I believe that it’s something not 100% perfect.

Nothing is ever perfect. I don't care how often people use that word today. When you use a ripper then the end result doesn't have what the original disc does. That's why there are stutter effects. My older BD Player plays originals well. Probably TSMuxer also adds to it too, ...at least for older/some players. Not wanting to argue, The Best isn't always The Best. Again, nothing is ever perfect, done, final, cannot be added to.

That doesn't qualify it as "The Best". But yet, you commented about stutters. Hmm.. Wink.

Just trying a UHD disc and it finished fine but the colours are off - is there an extra setting I'm missing.

In the main movie?
I had a similar issue but only in the extras of the disc.

There was only a main feature - Tosca. I did use Good bd-25+ setting as the disc was no bigger than a bd-50, so it might be related to that if you used fast encode for the extras.

The rebuild disc is BD-66 as the original :)
Only change is a subtitle replacement. No vídeo or audio encoding was done.

Appreciate this. I was wondering about that...seeing the list. I'm *not* up-to-date on all the new Tech. Oh, how I used to be.. Since I commented about BD root on USB.

Tested and it´s much better.
Now the FF works perfect.
The REW works perfect at speeds > 2x. The REW at 1x and 2x i can see bitrate changing on oppo player but image is freezed.
You are on the right track :)
Can you just please test other issue on LAST JEDI.
At 00:02:05 in a scene transition i have another "non smooth transition".
The transition is when it moves from 00007.m2ts -> 00018.m2ts on the 00800.mpls.
So something is still not perfect on m2ts transitions...
Have you found the FF/REW issue on Dolby Vision discs ?
The experimental build of BD-RB that you have sent me was much better :)

Have you found the FF/REW issue on Dolby Vision discs ?
The experimental build of BD-RB that you have sent me was much better :)No. The build I created for you to test just added the dolby vision track to the CPI() table. It improved things, but apparently didn't fix it. So I really don't have a good idea as to why you are having issues.
If it requires all the I frames of the dolby vision track to match those of the reencoded HEVC, that could become a problem for sources that require reencoding. I'd have to investigate how hard it would be to get around.
I may just add a hidden option to tell BD-RB not to include dolby vision, that way you could at least get an HDR version without FF/REW problems.
To All:
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? So far I think I've only gotten this report from FilipeAmadeuO. It would be nice to know if it is limited to only a certain player before I spend a lot of time on it.

The improvement you have done it’s on the right track.
I think if there is there is no negative side effect it’s better than the working version.
Why not add the Dolby vision layer as a selectable video ? Then uses can select the layer or not.

This should solve the problem:
IMPORT_PAL_TO_FILM=n n = 0/1 - Default=0, if set to 1, imported 25fps video file sources are converted to 23.976. Be sure that's not set to 0. Or add to config, and go another go.

I'll look at it. But in the meantime you can always set IMPORT_FORCE_FRAMERATE=24. But don't forget to delete it after the import, or your next import might have issues.
I think there was a reason why 24fps could be converted to 23.976 during import... but it was a long time ago and I can't remember why...

This opens up a lot of possibilities.
But .... Why is that not in HIDDENOPTS.TXT ?. It is not documented before in this threat either. It is really hidden.

Most are undocumented for a reason... because they would be the source of self-inflicted bug reports that people would "fail to mention". I don't want to have to deal with that.

This opens up a lot of possibilities.
But .... Why is that not in HIDDENOPTS.TXT ?. It is not documented before in this threat either. It is really hidden.Just remember. It doesn't change the framerate of the imported source -- it just forces BD-RB to treat it as what you set. So, for example, if you forced a 25fps source to 24 -- it would play in (slightly) slow motion.
It really is useful only for sources that, for some reason, MEDIAINFO detects incorrectly.

Do you have any jerky video transition between m2ts on LAST JEDI (for example) ?
I have no stuttering between m2ts of the 0800.mpls, but no FF/REW.

Now you have the memo I was joking about, too.
I have many undocumented settings that were put there for testing. Most are undocumented for a reason... because they would be the source of self-inflicted bug reports that people would "fail to mention". I don't want to have to deal with that.
Programmers are very mischievous and very fun..you all are demigods of sorts. I remember programming...after that I left it for other stuff.
I hope you enjoy Samhain tomorrow. You goofy coder, admin you.
Ohh! Have you checked into https://www.videohelp.com/software/PopCorn-MKV-AudioConverter ?? Seems there's a way to deal with some DTS stuff BD RB isn't currently able.

Just a quick question, I'm planning on switching to the 4k ultra HD game and I want to know how long will it take converting a 59GB to a 25GB MKV movie with BD-Rebuilder?

That's different for everyone. That depends heavily on the cpu used for encoding, available ram, cpu workload, storage device holding the source...

Hi question about UHD support ?? before i spend hours encoding
source is UHD , can the program make a BD-25 bluray (x264) ?? to play on a BluRay player or does it make UHD-25 (x265)??
if it does make BD-25 i guess it converts HDR to SDR ?
thanks

MikeNot positive what you are asking. But if you plan to have it stay UHD, there is no choice. The specification requires it to be HEVC (X265). If your intent is to resize it and create a 1080p BD-25... BD-RB doesn't have an option to resize UHD to HD yet.

Can I send Michi the testing version you have sent me by PM ?
It improves a lot the FF/REW problem on Dolby vision titles.
Any development on that issue ?
Thanks

you shouldnt need to amend the.ini to get 1 pass,
re download the latest version and pop into a folder somewhere and by default it will be 1 pass auto quality

One Pass is only enabled with ABR option. But I want the CRF option.

I think I answered that some days ago ... do NOT use FRIM source or internal LAVF for frame serving ... just leave it at DirectshowSource ...

Further testing on m2ts stuttering. I used BDrebuilder for movie only and in that case both m2ts are joined.
The stuttering still exists, so my conclusion is that the problem is probably on tsmuxer remuxing.
Probably it´s some correction that it´s not 100% fixed.

I have updated the first post of this thread with a link to the latest version of BD-RB. Changes for this release:- Updated the UHD remuxing routines to more
accurately represent the access points for
FF/REW on dolbyvision sources.
- Added routine to scan/examine dolbyvision
streams and align iframes in the reencoded
output for matching CPI() references.
- Added code to extract and convert timed
text subtitles to SRT from MP4 files during
import so they can be used in BD creation
or output to ALTERNATE formats.
- Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

I don't normally do 4k, so sorry I'm a little fuzzy on what exactly BDRB does with these sources. Can you import a 4k source, say an MKV file that is 3840 by 2160 and I would guess that it would also be x265, right? Then, what are your options as to what to do with it? Can you then render it as a playable standard Blu-ray with x264. Does it automatically resize it? Can you render it to a 'normal' playable x264 MKV file? I'm just not sure what BDRB does exactly or what UHD sources you can import with it.
I don't have a 4k setup. I have an OPPO BDP-83 which I just sent to OPPO to have it reconditioned. I like it mainly because it is pre-Cinavia and I back up a LOT of my stuff. And, I have a very old Plasma that hasn't died yet and still looks really good, so I'm just wondering if I can take some of these 4k sources, either the full 4k Blu-ray or an MKV file taken from it and make it playable on my 'standard' Blu-ray equipment, and exactly what options I have to do so?
I appreciate any input, thanks!

Just another quickie... (it doesn't take me long to recover :D)
Assuming, that BDRB does this then, how is the 'quality' retention. I mean, when you take even a really large standard Blu-ray, say over 40 Gigs and you use BDRB to render it to a BD25, the results are beautiful. How does that compare if you are converting full 4k resolution to standard Blu-ray resolution (assuming BDRB does this) I mean, is the quality retention just as comparable, or with the resizing and all, is it simply better just to stay with the standard HD versions. Just curious if it is worth the trouble...
