Sigh...
You know, between the two of us I think we know just about everything there is to know.
You seem to know everything except that you're wrong -- and I know that.
You must know mostly everything then as I've never claimed to know much. When I am wrong I can and do admit it.
Since you already stated that the .stats files are pretty much worthless you are basically arguing with yourself.
Anyhow you have tested my patience long enough and since I'm wrong all the time I'll get rid of all the 'wrong' info I provided to support BD-RB unless things change.
In the mean time can you give me some ideas of other tools to mess with that create a bunch of useless files?
I kind of regret the $260 I've contributed to DVD-RB / BD-RB over the years. But oh well I've probably gotten my money's worth from the programs just wasn't expecting support to get as disrespectful as it has been over the past couple of months.

You are very possibly the most dense person I have ever encountered. Useless files -- can you not read????
You have a lot to learn about disrespect. Frankly, I'm tired of your attitude. I appreciate any bug reports -- but when someone starts telling me how to write my own programs, makes rude remarks, and refuses to accept decisions that are quite clearly mine to make -- I don't need him around.
Don't go away mad. Just go away.
BTW... $260 is far more than the entire amount I've received in BD-RB donations since I first posted it back in December -- and I've put hundreds of hours into it -- so trying to guilt me about money is far from effective. It obviously isn't the driver for my efforts.

Nice example you are setting for the rest of the forum, isn't personal attacks against the forum rules or are you above that?
The .stats files I asked for an option to remove ARE NOT USED AND YOU KNOW THAT. Surprisingly the option to delete all files that are used you accepted (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1296039#post1296039) within hours of you calling me completely wrong and the densest person you know, it all makes sense to me now. Unlike every bug/feature request I've brought up over the past few months you replied the first time it was asked, you didn't ask a bunch of questions or try to prove him wrong. I took this as disrespectful, and I've noticed others have the same experiences. While I at times get frustrated about it I don't stoop to attacking people like you have chosen to do.

Frankly I'm not surprised the way you have been treating others lately. Making you feel guilty was not my intent at all, it was to show potential customers that although you may get treated well don't be surprised if that changes. OTOH you may make some people feel guilty for not contributing. While I was wrong to write how much I've contributed it was in the heat of the moment.
This is my last post involving BD-RB on this forum unless the tone changes. It can go one of two ways.

I told you why the files are there. It's because they save a lot of time in the case of oversizing when using CRF. Do I have to repeat it over-and-over at the expense of all the other members who are probably as tired of this discussion as I am? If that simple reason isn't enough then "dense" is an understatement. The link you reference has absolutely nothing to do with this discusssion. It was a request to remove the entire working directory automatically after encoding is completed.
You keep droning on wanting desperately to be perceived as being "right" -- it's really not very becoming.

@turbojet...
Bro, if you aren't happy with how much JD has evolved BD-Rebuilder to this point, then just go use RipBot, and pester Atak. I truly feel that you aren't helping the progress of Bd-Rebuilder, more so hindering it with nonstop rants about why BD-REebuilder should bend over backwards so that you can get your Panasonic to work right.
As I've mentioned before, I liked some of what you input, but now it's just plain contempt... just let it go and move on... one way or another.
@JDobbs...
I know that I speak for 99% of the users of BD-Rebuilder when I say that we genuinely appreciate you and this great program. We all also basically understand that it's still in Beta, and that you, as the author, has far more knowledge to implement whatever changes you deem helpful or productive to the ongoing progress of BD-RB...
So again we all thank you for your efforts.:thanks:
To get back on topic in this thread...
As I posted earlier, I had the 'Failed to retrieve audio' error for the first time, when trying to do a movie-only of Fired Up. I tried all possible settings to try and get it to work in BD-RB to no avail.
Only when I pre-processed Fired up through TSMuxer was I able to run it thru BD-RB.
This title is a multiple m2ts seamlessly branched Bluray, MPEG-4 AVC, which I appended with TSMuxer.
While running it thru TSMuxer, I get the following warnings.
I was just wondering if you had an idea as to what might have caused this??

Odd indeed. Are there 19 parts to the appended input stream? I really don't have any idea... but I'm wondering if the last TRUE-HD audio frame of each stream may be extending into the first frame of the following (appended) stream -- causing the overlap.

Regarding (not) having to defend/explain yourself:
I must say that, in addition to your wonderful skills at program development, if nothing else, you're the most tolerant MODERATOR I've ever come across!
Without mentioning names, I'm sure you know as well as I, that there are other moderators that would have "climbed all over" "turbojet" quite some time ago.

There are actually 43 m2ts files that make up that main movie playlist, so why the 19 frames dropped is what I was curious about. Guess this is one of those oddball authorings, like The Secret Life of Bees was with the two completely different English HD audio streams for each of two versions of the movie.
Anyways, the TSMuxer appended BD went fine through BD-RB 0.22.02, and the resulting BD-9 looks incredible... no audio sync issues, nor any video gliches...absolutely perfect.
As I mentioned, this is the only time I've recieved that failure to retrieve audio error... so I'll chalk it up as an exception and not a rule...Thanks.

If im doing a movie only back up to a dvd9, should the output folder contain a CERTIFICATE folder or not.
All of my previous backups worked fine with a CERTIFICATE folder. the latest version does not make a CERTIFICATE folder.
sorry if this has been answered before there's too many pages to read through.
jdobbs

Generally for movie-only it should not. Most players will play it fine with or without, but I have been told there are some that look for the CERTIFICATE and will not play AVCHD if it exists. I'm not aware of any that require it for movie-only.

There are a few other "quirks" to look for, depending on your player. If you plan on burning the Movie Only to a BD9/BD5 you should read through this thread... http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144674.

Regarding movie only backups on DVD9, I'm afraid that my Denon 2500BT will only play these if the full Blu-ray structure is there. I have to manually add the missing folders e.g. CERTIFICATE once the BD rebuild has completed. I have to do the same with AVCHDs authored from my Sony HD camcorder using Nero. Pinnacle 12 Ultimate, however, makes AVCHDs that contain the full Blu-ray structure and these play fine on the Denon.
I have an older Sony BDP-S300 that will play more or less any disc I load.

If enabled, ImgBurn creates the missing CERTIFICATE folder for you.

If the certificate folder was in the source list then it would have been added to the compilation 'as-is' (i.e. it would include all the files that were in it).
If it wasn't, ImgBurn adds one (and its sub folder), but it will of course just be empty.
Do you have any settings enabled that could be making it ignore the files in the cert folder?
Get me a screenshot of the main window when the 'Options' tab is visible please.

If enabled, ImgBurn creates the missing CERTIFICATE folder for you.
It does, actually (also with checking AUDIO_TS in 2.4.2.x versions), but it may break playability in some players.
Because there is no accepted standard and rules for Blu-ray content (among hardware manufacturers) when content is written to DVD5/DVD9 (also called BD5/BD9), I believe it is better for everyone to do a simple test and see what works for their players.
There are 100's of brands and 1000's of models and all handle DVD media with BD/AVCHD content differently.
I think it is not a good idea to request any folder presence or absence in BD-RB's movie only output (for BD5/BD9).
Also, having ImgBurn adding folders (by default) when they're not wanted is another issue. I asked ImgBurn's author to remove this 'feature', because it is always better to be sure that your DVD/BD-R disc will contain only the folders you added. There is no need of AI :) when it comes to this.

Maybe rare, but it worked. Just to let you know, I worked this today and got the desync also. The problem seems to be that the stream is flagged as VC-1 @ 23.976 (according to TSMUXER) -- but the CLPI says 29.97.... it's because of the pulldown.
I should be able to make some determinations as to whether it is 23.976 pulldown and correct for it.
Just as a point of reference... WMP also plays that stream off the original commercial disc out-of-sync. Apparently it ignores pulldown as well (which explains why the frame serving only created enough frames for 23.976).

Perhaps the path length is too long!!!
Make a new directory mummy3 in the root and copy all of the sub-directories (e.g BMDV, Certificate etc) to it then try again.

Move the folder up (shorten the path) and it should work.
That's one of those things I've been meaning to correct (by using a newer call) but have never gotten around to it (because it so rarely happens).

The first post has all the links and a description by turbojet.
**If you are going to bd-25, and you're not experienced with filters etc, just use "MIN_M2TS=****" in the config and set it to the size of the largest extra file - I think it's about 2100 and the results look perfect on the movie.

Thanks for checking this one out, it was challenging! Though I never tried WMP on the original, I did try PowerDVD and it played it in sync.
My retail disc has two main movie streams, one that is just the main movie, 00001.mpls/ 00001.m2ts, and the other is the main movie with directors comments and a pop up window with the director and actors video/commentaries, 00002.mpls/ 00002.m2ts. ( In-Movie Experience)
BDInfo and tsMuxer both show 00001.mpls as VC-1, 1920:1080i, 29.97(pulldown).
00002.mpls is VC-1,1920:1080p, 23.976.
00001.m2ts is 13GB, and 00002.m2ts is 14.3GB. For a disc of this type structure, to be able to only reencode the 00002.m2ts to a size that would allow a BD-25 backup would be ideal. I was unable to do this with MIN_M2TS_*** because BD-RB would not allow it.
I am curious if your version is the same or perhaps a different version, which could explain the different type of stream viewed with tsMuxer and BDInfo. Mine is Region A.
EDIT: I tried MPC on the original 00001.m2ts and it plays in sync!

Use ImgBurn to burn the disc. Check the block to "add the certificate folder for Blu-Ray" and you should be good to go. :)
If you don't check the block for "Stricter AVCHD compliance..." I thought it left the auxdata and certificate (among others) in place too.

I have been seeing a few pixelation defects in every backup that I have watched using 22.01 & 22.02, may have been doing with every version. I haven’t been looking for it. They are very short and toward the end of the film only a few frames and the audio is unaffected.
My setup is Movie only, to a BD-25 target the slowest speed, keeping the HD audio
It’s a very small defect and may only happen when saving to a BD-25 target. I can live with it for backups.
Has anyone else seen this?

@datman;
My movie only backups have been to BD-5, and all have been perfect, never a single glitch. My BD-25 have been full movie backups, and those have been perfect as well. Are you talking about burned to media or played back on a pc problems? I burn to Verbatim DVD-R media and use Sony BD-RE and Ridata BD-R media and play back on a Sony BDP-BX1, and I have never noticed pixelation problems. I don't really watch the entire movie on my pc, just scan it for audio sync and playback checking before burning to disc.

@datman;
I only watch from my HTPC, I do not burn anything yet!! I got used to the HTPC I love it.
The defect is in the encoded film and I can stepped forward and you can see the defected frames, so if I burned it I'm sure it would also be on the disc.
edit: I never remember seeing these defects before. As I said before it's on every BD-25, I did watch one BD-9 last week and I don't think I saw it. I'm going to have to see if any of those (BD-9) have it

The links to the files are highlighted in the text in the first post. If you have TMT2 installed, download the update patch and the filter tweak, otherwise if you have powerdvd use that although as stated it does resize to 740x480.
Seeing the questions you've asked I really would go for the bd-25 route and use the minimum file size as it's a simple and perfect solution.

The defect is in the encoded film...I never remember seeing these defects before. What might you have done with your PC that is different lately? FWIW I used to have occasional glitching just as you've described, but after I switched to neuron2's NV tools (whereby indexing & decoding are done via his sw and nvidia card) I have no further random glitches.
So my GUESS would be that you are suffering decoding problems (which of course are then encoded by x264 into your video). I'd look real hard at which programs have glitched, what codec they use (VC1/264/MPEG2) and how your PC is decoding each of these (for presentation to the x264 encoder).

Question: Started an encode and it field so I made some changes and resumed. Did this a few times but now I dont get the questing to resume, only to delete WORK files. How does BDR determine when to resume? What did I change that will not allow it?
Thanks.

I have two problematic Movie that i cant seems to make them work with the BD-RB.
One is the Incredible Hulk and the second is Starship-Troopers (us versions).
Both movies are successfully done by the BD-RB but i cant play them on any player.
The Hulk i can see the Menu but the move gets the player stuck (I need to power down the player or kill task on the power dvd).
The starship toppers stop after i put the disk in immediately on every player but works O.K on the computer.
After lots of successful copies (great application Jdobbs) those are my only problems.
Is anyone had the same problem?

Thanks for the heads up That might be it. I removed 2 programs MakeMKV and smartshopper. I have not changed anything and this computer is never (rarely) on the internet but perhaps that was it.

My guess is that when you made the changes, it changed the commands used by BD-Rebuilder... so you had to start over.... or maybe you weren't at a point that it could resume.

I have to manually add the missing folders e.g. CERTIFICATE once the BD rebuild has completed.
edit BDRebuilder.INI file
CONFIG SETTINGS-- under Options
FORCE_BLURAY=1

Thanks. It will resume as long as you haven't changed any of the settings.
