Well aslong as the menu's work correctly "eg: watch film in RealD > triggers SBS copy". For movies like the most recent resident evil it may be a little tricky. There's 3 versions on it. 2D, anaglyph & RealD. The 1st 2 can easily be shrinked. Afaik the anaglyph one from what i can see on my iso probably uses some kind of "anaglyph overlay" on the 2D stream as there is no seperate anaglyph stream. It's the RealD (2nd eye stream) that as you know prevents shrinking. An anaglyph feature would not be flagged as 3D, it would be contained in an M2TS just like 2D. Only MVC 3D has special settings (e.g. the packet indexes into the SSIF are different from the M2TS and has to be specified independently).

The disc i was talking about was Resident evil: afterlife. After reading your post i went back to double check. you're right. I must have missed anaglyph stream initially. There's the 2D stream (14GB on the dot) and a 2nd anaglyph stream (15.7GB) in the stream root folder. If you manage to pull of that 3D half-SBS you'll probably succeed at shrinking my 3D backup rips from a 471GB folder to arround 200 tops ^^
I've been wanting to do this for a while but never had the funds available till now. I've been using this wonderful piece of software ever since i found it 2+ years ago. I've been able to make backups ever since. You've also implemented quite some feature requests i've asked for and have gotten. Check your account. Just made a $30 donation :) You've more than earned it and way overdue :)
** edit ** in the (auto?) response i got there is a claim of name being added to the contributors list? Can't find it on the site though ^^

If I did this it would have to be to ALTERNATE MKV or MP4 only -- as the size would not be compliant with AVCHD or Blu-ray.
Thanks for the info jdobbs and nice to hear it can be done and is it something you might consider? I am looking for other program's that can do this at the moment, the reason for seeking this is it would be the closest one could get to a 3D Remux, have done a few 3D's now with new BDRB and it works great but can defiantly see a loss in quality on my projected image, cheers.

Change notes from 44.02:
- Corrected an error in the importing function
in which framerates can be incorrectly read
on systems the use "," as a decimal point.
Didn't take, it seems :)

The list isn't available to the public. In the event I ever decide to create a "Pro" version anyone on that list gets it for free. However, my current plan is to keep it freeware based on voluntary donations.

If you see a loss of quality -- you're doing something wrong.
Well you do lose half of the resolution when going from BD3D to side-by-side 3D... but maybe he meant something else.

Yes that is what I meant, I can defiantly notice a quality difference on a 130" screen when watching Half SBS hence why I want to go Full SBS, thanks.

(as mentioned here -> http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1627263&postcount=2 )
When the movie starts, the audio is in sync. By the end, it is noticeably off.
The attached text file has the BD-Rebuilder LOG, INF, and INI files.
I ripped the bluray to hard drive (folders, not ISO), with AnyDVD HD like I have with all others to date.
This is the only bluray I've noticed audio sync issues with.
I tried again after I updated to 0.44.04, but it failed to complete the rebuild, and I rolled back to 0.43.06. The attached text file also contains the log of the failed rebuild from when I tried after upgrading to 44.04..

Yes that is what I meant, I can defiantly notice a quality difference on a 130" screen when watching Half SBS hence why I want to go Full SBS, thanks.I see. Of course you'll lose horizontal resolution at half SBS -- there's really not anything you can do about that. I thought he meant the extra compression for BD-5/9/25 was showing degradation. While a full backup to DVD-5 is probably a little much on some discs -- none of the others should show a noticeable quality drop.
No need to be defiant, though. ;)
I've added full SBS to the next release. It is turned on with a hidden setting, and only works with MKV or MP4 ALTERNATE output selections that aren't inherently being resized.

Wouldn't L/R interleaved instead of SBS keep the resolution intact? Don't know if this is standard compliant and compatible 3-D TVs.

Wouldn't L/R interleaved instead of SBS keep the resolution intact? Don't know if this is standard compliant and compatible 3-D TVs. Most TVs only support SBS and Over/Under (Top/Bottom).
At the HDMI level they all support full O/U with 45 lines of blank between them. Some support interleaved and SBS -- but getting that sent to the HDMI input from a non-specialized player is almost impossible. So even if you create the file -- what good is it if you can't play it back?
I also think there would be a significant loss of efficiency in encoding interleaved. It could be that X264 has a way to compensate for it, but if it does I don't know about it.

As far as I know, very few displays are compliant with full SBS. The frame size is simply way too large.
That's why I thought interleaving could be a possibility. By this I meant L/R arranged in alternating full frames, means doubling the frame rate. But as jdobbs explained this seems to be beyond a standard. I noticed that "double framerates" for blu-ray are only specified for the reduced resolution of 1280x720@50fps or 59.94fps. So no luck ......

No, I don't think you reported a fix. I looked at your release notes with each upcoming version of BD-RB and I didn't notice anything that said it was resolved. I figured that you'd get to it eventually, and I didn't want to nag.
If it helps, here's the post where you said you repeated the problem.

JDobbs,
I've been checking the Hidden Options and I don't see an answer. Using FORCE_NOENCODE=1 doesn't function with Alternate MKV. Could you add a video pass through in the Alternative MKV with the options of reencode audio or not if desired so chapters are included? Since some movies are originally on BD-25's, I'd like BD-RB to make an MKV for my LG Player and TV with chapters and subtitles. I know, you fixed the subs for next release. Maybe add a new hidden option or make a new choice where the alternative choices are like 2 Pass?
Or...have I not combined the correct settings? I'm still checking. Thanks.
Edit: That would also be nice for MP4. My TV and LG Player support both. I'm going to do more testing of the Alternate outputs. I'll also use my iPad 2.
@AmigaFuture
Did you set your target size high enough in alternate options.

Mr. Dobbs, I was able to complete a GOOD encode of DIE HARD with the PREVIOUS version of BD Rebuilder (version 43.6).. by the time I was able to read your request that I post the log and .INF files for DIE HARD, I had already deleted them. Sorry.
However, I have a blu ray of BLACK DAHLIA; so I tried to use the latest version of BD Rebuilder again (version 44.4).
I COMPLETELY un-enabled and EXITED AnyDVD.. then ripped it with DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER. Keep in mind that ANYDVD was NOT even ENABLED, or PRESENT here. Yet, take a look at the LOG..

Soo, I'm scratching my head at this one.. EVEN though ANYDVD is COMPLETELY un-enabled, I even EXITED the program..(I ripped the blu ray with DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER)... I see an ERROR caused by ANYDVD!
I'm now in the process of ripping the disc again WITH version 7.1.8.0 of Anydvd HD, BUT with the REMOVE SHORT TITLES disabled, AND the REMOVE ANNOYING ADVERTISMENTS disabled.. THEN I'll see if version 44.4 of BD Rebuilder does the same thing.. if if DOES,..then I have NO IDEA what is going on..
Keep in mind that I'm NOT a techie.. I simply know how to use the software program..but certainly not enough to know how to CHANGE things within the program..If I were to do this, I'd likely break it.. heh ..
ALL previous versions of BD Rebuilder have worked wonderously well, this is WITH AnyDVD enabled, with "Remove Annoying Adverts", and "Remove short titles" enabled as well.. the last version issued (version 43.6) still works; I've completed Die Hard with no problems..and, yes.. BLACK DAHLIA works with version 43.6 as well. I'm able to start a good encode with version 43.6..it does NOT abort for any reason.
Soo.. it appears that a problem exists with Version 44.4.. Sigh.. it'd just be funny if I'm the only guy with this problem.
I thought that maybe I had a CORRUPTED copy of version 44.4 of BD Rebuilder..so, I deleted the previous copy, and downloaded it again..
And here is the log for the rip made with ANYDVD HD version 7.1.8.0 WITH the REMOVE ANNOYING ADVERTS disabled AND REMOVE SHORT TITLES removed =

@AmigaFuture
Did you set your target size high enough in alternate options.
I have tried that as well as in Setup. Since "FORCE_NOENCODE=1" is not recognized with Alternate output, and all other options are to encode at different rates/speeds, a reencode is forced. Whatever size I enter beyond 25GB, even 40GB..
@AmigaFuture
Just so there is no confusion, I am referring to the Two Pass Target Size option in Alternate Movie-Only Output

Agreed. I've also tried with Setup/Custom Target Size. I've even set both to the same size...above 25GB and 40GB. I'm using MKV Intact Audio.
Edit: I do have the Output Options set to Custom Target Size also.

From the WIKI:
HDMI 1.4a requires that 3D displays support the frame packing 3D format at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24, side-by-side horizontal at either 1080i50 or 1080i60, and top-and-bottom at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24.

The new version of BD_RB has an option for intact video and intact audio. Look in the Alternate text file. You might have to create your own alternate profile.

JDobbs,
I've been checking the Hidden Options and I don't see an answer.
I'll also use my iPad 2.That's already there. Look in ALTERNATE.TXT file (in the MISC folder) for vFormat=8.

Thank you both. This is the first time I've looked at the file. I saw other comments about it and then forgot to even check it. I'll try this and learn how these settings function. Question, though, if Video is Intact why would vBiterate be needed?

I am not sure if the field itself is required and then not used because vFormat=8 overrides it. Try with and without on a short clip and see if it is necessary.

If you look at the default settings I've provided, numbers 27 & 28 are already intact video.
One of these days I need to write a users guide for BD-RB. Even I have to look things up sometimes.

I am studying it. You haven't "mastered" your own program. Oh, my! Hahaha! Joking!
@conca
I was having more fun than anything. I agree, am trying settings and movies.

I saw that the existing Intact Video profile has a vBitrate=2000
entry. Did not know if this was a required field even if it wasn't used.

I did notice the order as well as 27 & 28 before adding my own. Almost always good to look at provided examples. Sometimes it's fun to reinvent the wheel for yourself for better, deeper education, but this wasn't one I wanted to do that with. Laughing.

I see.
Thanks jdobbs for adding it in looking forward to giving it a go, I think this format I have requested can only be used on software players via a PC, as some users have said the resolution is huge (which it is) and I don't think hardware players will know what to do with it, cheers.

Hmmm... Is:
OUTPUT_FOLDER=\\PC_Name\Share_Name\
OUTPUT_FOLDER=C:\Users\Username\Desktop\
For fun I also created "C:\Output" at the root and tried:
OUTPUT_FOLDER=C:\OUTPUT\
functioning for anyone else? I thought I'd try it and it keeps creating the Output in the Working Path only. Yes, logged in to the other computer from my MacBook Pro. For now, I'll skip it to continue the other tests...
Edit: I didn't include the "\" at the end of paths when I typed this message originally.

Alternate MKV output with Intact Audio and Video is doing well from my tests with single M2TS movies. I have not viewed or listened to anything other than sampling video, audio and subtitles (SUP) and all tests look good and sound good. Complete viewing soon.
What I have noticed are movies with multiple M2TS files are extracting the first M2TS well and not reencoding. After the 1st, they are reencoding. At the moment I'm using "Paul" Unrated. Another thing I've noticed is, Paul, multiple VID's are showing in the list. That shows to me, vFormat=8 is not being respected for whatever reason. Are you able to confirm?
I'm currently using:

Caption=MKV, Intact Video and Audio
aBitrate=*
aType=2
vFormat=8
vKeyint=Auto
cType=1

I did Total Recall a while back and don't remember any issues... but I'll do it again with your settings.
At least one release of Total Recall 2012 in Germany was having sync issues (http://www.bluray-disc.de/blu-ray-news/filme/40462-extended-directors-cut-der-total-recall-blu-ray-disc-mit-tonfehler) with the "Extended Cut".
My version is one of those and I can confirm that the original Disc has this problem only when playing the extended cut.
I'm not sure what version Mark_Venture refers to but maybe converting the sound stream might make a change?

Soo.. it appears that a problem exists with Version 44.4.. Sigh.. it'd just be funny if I'm the only guy with this problem.
You are not alone...I am having similar failure to encode condition trying to rebuild Broken City. I went back a few revisions and 43.06 is currently working for me. I'm sure Jerry will have this sorted out shortly :)
