I have modify H264 decoder to use SEI messages as Matmaul suggest. Now DXVA decoder works with french TNT-HD (should be used with Haali splitter, because internal splitter still buggy) :

Please let me know if you see broken things before I commit.

@Matmaul : i have put the .patch if you want to have a look on it.

I have GF 8600GT with 175.16 drivers, will update today to the new drivers.
Tested the L5.1 stream you linked and it's working in software mode, no DXVA.

That video should work with DXVA if latest drivers 178.24 is used.

I have Vista 32, MPC HC 1.1.853 , WMV decoder , madflac, Haali Renderer and can not play m2ts (D. Guilmour 'Remember the night') with VC-1 interlaced video 1080i@60 and PCM audio. The same with C. Dion 'A new day'.
I remuxed everything in mkv transcoding audio in Flac but the issue is still here.
Could you help :thanks:
Same here using:
ati 3800, haali splitter, ac3filter, MPC HC 1.1.867, .m2ts file with VC-1 1080i@29.970fps and dts sound. When playing using vc-1 dxva i just get a black screen, using vc-1 without dxva i get a grey screen with some distortion...

Try running your m2ts through eac3to and remove the pulldown flags and then put the audio and video in an MKV container and then try it.

Thanks, it works better for the interlacing but doesn't take the good aspect ratio ( 16:9 ) and doesn't play very well.

Don't know if that can help but here is a little .ts file from ARTE HD (french TNT-HD 1044*1080 16:9) that play correct under dvbviewer ( Dxva and not), VLC and with mplayer and under MPC-HC with haali ts splitter, pdvd 8 and ffdshow have correct aspect ratio but not MPC-HC internal h264 decoder ( dxva or not ) .

The tv levels brightness issue is not a driver issue. The renderer is simply fucking up doing the colour space conversion. Either pass RGB24/32 to the renderer (means the decoder would have done the colour space conversion correctly .. ) or use a different renderer.

Hi!

How can I pass RGB24/32 to the renderer? When I watch HD movies, faces look too orange-red. It happens with both CoreAVC and Cyberlink H264 (DXVA checked). Perhaps that's a color space problem...

It's not so noticeable when I watch mpeg-2 videos.

Under VMR9, all movies show natural color, but DVBviewer has interlacing problems with this renderer.

I've a HTPC with an ATI 3850, connected throught DVI-HDMI cable. It's using EVR under Vista 32bits.

Thanks.

I'm having same problem as with 1.1.604. Which is : H.264 EVO files plays few frames forward, then jumps back. And H.264 EVO converted to MKV plays nice on 1.1.604. But its jumpy on your new version. Not as EVO but still jumpy.

Your version and MKV: 3 frames forward, 1 back
1.1.604 and MKV : good
Your version and EVO: 2 forward, 1 back
1.1.604 and EVO: 2 forward, 1 back

With 9800GT and Vista 64-bit SP1 and your test build 858 (not xvidvideo.ru build).
driver 177.79 - your stream is in software mode.
driver 178.24 - the stream plays in DXVA mode.

I tried interlaced VC-1 video 1080i@29 (mkv, m2ts) using Microsoft WMV decoder + Haali or internal splitter +Haali or EVR renderers.
Something is wrong with frame rate (the motion is slow):helpful:!

As I said, faces look too saturated using EVR (on HD overall). On the other hand, VMR9 look very natural colors.

yes
but to display video you need to convert it to RGB24/32
you are just telling coreavc to do that conversion for you, instead of getting the video renderer to do it.

Ok version 446 is buggy.. when I do fast seeking it crashes with this error. I still had version 422 on my system and it does not crash.. will try version before 446 and see what happens.

I'm getting a very similar error now. "an unhandled win32 exception occurred in mplayerc.exe [3904]", with svn 875..

Any ideas? Is it because I recently installed Visual Studio 2008?

Doesn't it depend on the OSD? If so, does it depend on a certain renderer?

The idea was to disable the menu option in situations were nothing happens when it gets enabled.

At least not with EVR Custom, I've been using it with OSD disabled for a long time. The remaining time option does nothing, so it can be disabled with no problems.

EDIT: VMR9 Renderless is fine too. So I guess it's not OSD dependant.
