This is what i get when i double click on AAC in the Transform filters list
http://i.imgur.com/Yo0tw.jpg

I tried changing it to 24 & 32bit and it didn't fix the issue, when i selected IEEE float it didn't work at all, it fell back to ffdshow when i opened the file.

Perhaps the problem of audio driver. Try another (built-in motherboard) sound card.

Finally got myself a TrueHD/DTSHD-MA capable AVR and hooked it up via HDMI.

But how do I get MPC-HC to bitstream these formats? The only filter properties I find are for selecting whether or not AC-3 and DTS should be decoded or passthrough.

Judging by the lights on the AVR, I only get DTS from DTSHD-MA and PCM from TrueHD. Both formats are passed through correctly with XBMC so the AVR end is correctly setup.

Thanks for your continued great work

Amazing program, and faster than the original Media Player Classic, I'm in love with it.

But I got two questions ;)
[dunno this is the official topic, sorry]

1) Every time I save one subtitle from the Search option, it saves two files ".srt" (the subtitle) and ".style". How can I set the program to download only the ".srt" file? I don't need this ".style" file.
2) Is there any way to increase the brightness of the video? I used FFDShow with Media Player Classic, and had some nice option, like the Level one that I could increase the brightness. I miss that.

Thanks

Hmm, not sure if it's currently possible. I will ask Demi about that, he worked on this feature lately.

It should be possible (depending on the renderer you use), see the Options > Miscellaneous and Options > Player > Keys for shortcuts.

Done that, does not work, nothing changes on the video. I'm using the "EVR Custom Pres." rendering :(

It seems to work for me (I tried with EVR CP but I'm on XP so maybe it's different, I will try asking someone on Seven).

I tried the slider in Options > Miscellaneous and I also configured hotkeys for that in Options > Player > Keys and both solutions work.

When the VMR-9 or EVR mixers receive RGB input, none of the color controls on the Miscellaneous tab will work. The solution is to allow native NV12, I420/IYUV, YV12, YUY2 and UYVY input types from the decoders.
To access the full spread of logical color controls, use a pixel shader. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=157634

What are these lite and icl12 builds?

"Lite" are builds without the internal filters, which makes them smaller in case you use external filters anyway.

"ICL12" is a different compiler, specifically Intels compiler instead of the default one from Microsoft.
It may or may not be faster, and may or may not have problems the normal version doesn't.

Personally, i would take ICL builds with a grain of salt. ;) But some people seem to swear to them.

AutoFit looks like it got broken somewhere between r4848 and r4865. The video frame is no longer an exact fit to the MPC-HC frame ever since, resulting in a thin black bar on the right side.

Same problem occurs when manually resizing the window with 'Limit window proportions on resize' enabled. For reference, this is on a 1680x1050 monitor.

[Edit: It appears the manually resizing problem exists even in old builds. Only the AutoFit regression is new.]

I'd suspect http://code.google.com/p/mpc-hc/source/detail?r=4858 caused the problem, but it would seem that any small change to MainFrm.cpp could have potentially triggered this, as it affects only specific window dimensions. Odd width/height, resulting in slightly incorrect aspect ratio it seems.

r4848 Autofits to 1120x630 (1.777777777777778), exact fit.

The latest builds Autofit to 1093x615 (1.777235772357724), black bar on right side.

I have a feature request which would be of great benefit to me when resizing video.

Ability to crop 1px at a time from top, bottom, left, or right via hotkeys. I would greatly appreciate if something like this were to show up in the next rev build. Cutting off the black bars allows me to watch blurays and upscale them slightly for > 1080p displays and save on GPU power. That little extra helps ensure that no frames are dropped or delayed. I've been doing this on the fly with ffdshow video post processor but it isn't a perfect solution as it stutters sometimes.

Many thanks!

These builds are NOT a replacement for the normal builds, at least not at the moment.
They are made by me and are the only ones supported. Feel free to build or use
whatever build you want, but reports will be accepted only when using my builds.

Some people are clearly ignorant and instead of looking at the repository,
they assume whatever comes to their minds.
So here goes what a Lite build has different than normal builds:

1) No internal filters, use your favorite splitters/decoders like LAVFilters
2) No translations, self-explanatory
3) No MediaInfoLib, use MediaInfo.dll

You cant have +/-1 px _before_ video will be passed to the renderer. Fitst because MPC-HC probably have no means to do so. But more importantly, adding or removing 1px is not possible due to YUV colorspace limitations and converting it to rgb (or rescaling) before is sub optimal. In other words I doubt someone will do this...

Right I understand that. Maybe I didn't word my question properly.

If I play a 1920 x 1080 video then the renderer will output 1920 x 1080 unless I scale it. Scaling can happen all sorts of ways via PnS (width/height/constant Aspect Ratio up or down). I understand that part. My question is that is there a way for the renderer to discard or for the user to tell the renderer, "Hey, discard these pixels before resizing to x * y"? Is that something that would have to be done though the renderer itself?

This is primarily useful for me in the context of madVR where I can choose my scaling algorithms. I have comfirmed that by simply cropping off the black bars (in ffdshow post processor for example) I can save a portion of my GPU power to use a better scaling algorithm.

Have there been any thoughts for removing subtitle support in the lite version?

I think its a crazy thought. its understandable about removing features that have very little use for common people, but subs is not one of them. On the other hand all renderers except EVR-CP and madvr can be removed. Does anyone really uses them? Some of them are just useless, some of them even old, forgotten and broken like haali. Not to mention that anyone still will be able to use it through external filters if he for some reason absolutely have to do so. Maybe capture and web interface stuff can be removed too.

Neither EVR-CP nor MadVR can work out-of-box on Windows XP, so either VMR-7, VMR-9 or Overlay would need to be retained. However, I agree with reducing the length of the renderer list, especially considering the advances JanWillem32 has made in his branch. Regarding the internal subtitle renderer, I believe it should be removed as it is very broken and buggy, and the VSFilter project itself would be much better off divorced from MPC.
