Any ETA on the "double image" fix?

How should I set up ffdshow, in the meantime?

Any help with ffdshow?

Hello,

Is there a guide for the new BDA capture card support somewhere or something like a FAQ maybe ?

I've managed to make a scan to get the channels' list (French digital terrestrial television) but when I try to play a channel, I have only the sound track for SD channels and a crash for HD channels.

Thanks

What are your setting in the sync renderer?
It was a clean win7 install, I have microsoft security essentials running but it doesnīt take too much cpu to run in background.

The CPU load is between 5 and 15%.

Do you achieve those results with or without subtitles? Or both? What settings can I change in Sync Renderer to perfect playback?

thanks

See my blog, particularly this page (http://www.ostrogothia.com/?page_id=1050) and its underlying pages. I get perfect sync with all subtitles, e.g. with blu-ray subs.

Hi, I have this weird glitch that I just can't find a proper way to resolve it.

This is what I'm talking about.

evr-cp (default) (http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo154/sidi0us/evr-cpdefault.jpg) // evr-cp (mpc audio renderer) (http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo154/sidi0us/evr-cpmpcaudiorenderer.jpg)

evr - present at nearest vsync (default) (http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo154/sidi0us/evr-presentatnearestvsyncdefault.jpg) // evr - present at nearest vsync (mpc audio renderer) (http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo154/sidi0us/evr-presentatnearestvsyncmpcaudiore.jpg)

As you cand see, the only way to completely remove it is to use MPC renderer, but the sound is crackling and audio gets slightly aut of sync.

Here (http://www.mediafire.com/file/zmjjunnlzzz/sample.mkv) is a sample of the video (mkv 23.97 fps). On my sistem (analog 5.1) the glitch appears twice, first at 00:07 and then at 00:15.

My specs are: Win 7 x86, e2180, Radeon 4670 (Catalyst 10.1), Realtek HD alc888 (2.41).
I've tried every renderer, different versions of mpc-hc (1557, 1489, 1249, 604), different audio and video drivers and nothing.

Do you also get this with external decoders? I have similar glitches in some blu-ray movies I play, e.g. "300", in very dark passages of the movie using the internal decoder. I believe it's a peculiarity of the internal video decoder. -A

Yes, CoreAVC 2.0 and Microsoft Video Decoder had the same glitch. I've disabled "enable jitter correction" in ffdshow audio decoder like rpm7200 said and now all is working fine. I've also tried disabling jitter correction from ac3 filter but it was even worse.
MPC audio renderer was the only solution, but the sound glitches and audio delay was annoying.

Thank you, Iīve been troubleshooting all afternoon and I finally did it!
Some notes that may interest you:

At 23.976hz with the option "present at nearest vsync" it dropped a frame every 5 minutes or so - annoying

At 60hz with the option "present at nearest vsync" NEVER DROPPED any frames but judder from the pulldown was present - still annoying

After reading your tutorial I was loosing hope when it said that with the option "sync video to display" would lead do Spdif audio problems (wich I use).

But I tried it anyway, and voila!
The red line in the graph is always straight, there are no dropped frames or glitches, and the audio starts with a +-150ms lag (which is not noticeable) and after a couple of minutes the lag disappears and all is in perfect sync :D:D:D:D

All the above with a target sync offset of 20ms and CoreAVC (Cuda) as video decoder.

Thank you ar-jar, youīre the man, keep up the good work ;)

(1394-1400)
Fixed : blank item for appcommand;
Added : support of Broadcom Video decoder for VC1, H264 and Mpeg2 (hardware acceleration);
I've tried reading several pages but the thread it's really tough to navigate, with the variety of subjects going on. So, pardon me if I ask something obvious (I did search for Broadcom and Crystal HD).

I'm under Windows 7 x64, I installed the Broadcom drivers for x64. MPC-HC is 32 bit because I'd like to keep using Reclock.
How exactly should I go about using Crystal HD decoding?

If I disable the internal filters (h264 for instance) playback doesn't even start. If I have them activated it works really badly. If I block Broadcom video decoders, my ATI is used for DXVA.

I also don't understand how and if EVR sync should be used with Reclock. By selecting it I had *really* juddery playback. Pretty much unwatchable. Standard DXVA with ATI plus Reclock and Custom EVR is giving me really smooth playback with 24p sources.

Edit: ok, just read ar-jar's page: no Reclock with EVR synch.

EDIT: De-interlacing twice (in ffdshow and then using gfx card, which was a mistake on my part) causes mpc-hc to drop half of the 100 frames. This of course isn't a big deal for me as its pointless to have 25i converted to 100p but I still don't think mpc-hc should drop any frames.

Thanks! Present at nearest will drop or duplicate a frame every now and then by design. It doesn't attempt to synchronize, just to drop or duplicate as discreetly as possible w/o tearing or extra judder. So you can conclude that your display and video rates have a difference of one frame cycle time every five minutes (which is not too bad actually). But perfect sync is always better :-). I can't guarantee that SPDIF output won't lead to audio and video getting slightly out of sync eventually but then again, I've only tested it on my own setup. -A

A question for some developers, what version of Inno Setup are you going to use for the installer? The setup script says 5.3.7+, but it doesn't specify if it's going to be the ANSI or Unicode version. I'm going to translate custom_messages.iss, but the Unicode installer needs UTF-8 iss files and the ANSI installer needs ANSI iss files, the text gets messed up otherwise, so it cannot be mixed.

@decapitado: regarding your comments about present at nearest. With my screen at 23.976hz, and target offset set to 30, I just played 'The Bourne Identity', and reset the stats after a few minutes. I let the whole movie play through. There were 0 glitches and 1 dropped frame for the whole film. Not sure why you would get a dropped frame every 5 minutes?

That's a good question. We need to use the unicode Inno Setup but it gives me some errors about wrong codepage for the two chinese languages.

Installing an url file is silly altogether. InnoSetup can create URL shortcuts directly without have to install a file.

well what i mean is to just correct the file name located in mpc install folder "check_update_for_MPC-HC.url" to "check update for MPC-HC.url" when recompiling the installer >_>

http://i48.tinypic.com/dlqech.jpg

Should be this (rev 1489):

I get this on all renders. Even on a brand new installation. On Catalyst 9.11, 9.12 and 10.1 (all I tried, basically).

On my netbook (Atom 330, Intel 945, Win7), everything is fine.

Is there something I can do? Is someone able to reproduce this?

I just don't understand why on my netbook everything is okay if the problem is in the decoders, not the renderers. The GPU shouldn't affect the software decoders, right? Hum I think I will need some help first ... :o

It seems that there is something wrong with live capture and DVXA decoder, I have to disable the internal MPEG2 DVXA decoder to get a video output. It is quite strange because when I try to play a MPEG2 file there is no problem and DVXA is not even used.

Moreover something else must go wrong somewhere because when it works (ie with DVXA disabled), the ratio aspect is not correct (I always get 4/3 for 16/9).

Supported languages: BR, BY, CN, CZ, DE, EN, ES, FR, HU, IT, KR, PL, RU, SE, SK, TR, UA

(1587-1594):

Add : auto resolution change for DVD;
Fixed pesky error message in Sync Renderer when 10 bit RGB isn't supported by the graphics device;
Fixed : quick and dirty patch to fix convertion to YUY2 with swscale (revert to CopyBuffer);
translated Czech strings in custom_messages.iss - this required to change its code page to UTF-8 and bumping minimal requirements for setup to Unicode versions of Inno Setup only - changed info in mpc-home_x86.iss and mpc-home_x64.iss accordingly;
installer: -added mutex so install/uninstall stops if mpc-hc is running
-added Minversion (win2k) and removed an invalid directive since we're using unicode IS;
Cosmetics;
Allow compiler to emit SSE code by adding /arch:sse for all projects and -msse -mfpmath=sse for ffmpeg (as discussed on IRC, SSE has been available for AMD since 2001, intel since 1999, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_SIMD_Extensions);
