For some reason I can't get smooth playpack in Vista x64 with MKV and M2TS. I get slight stuttering and/or audio & video is completely out of synch. All works fine in Vista x86.(MatroskaSplitter.ax, MpaDecFilter.ax, MPCVideoDec.ax, MpegSplitter.ax)

Hi everyone,
Is there any chance to add option to MPC HC or DirectVobSub to auto load subtitles that do not match video name? MPC is my favourite player, anyway almost all modern ones have this feature already. Choosing subt manually isnt nice, especially dealing with many subdirectories :( . Working with non vmr7/9 renderer is also nice reason for that option :) I dont use ffdshow as it sometimes cause desychronization :(

That will never happen. I don't want MPC/VSFilter to load (or even just list) unrelated subtitles. If you are too retarded to properly name and organize your subtitle files, that is your problem.

Yes - MPC-HC 754 detecting a DXVA anomally in the mkv and correctly dropping back to no-DXVA mode.
This doesn't explain why the other X.264 clip plays back perfectly in MPC-HC 664 with DXVA acceleration, whereas 754 drops back to non-DXVA mode.
Unfortunately I don't have any other valid H.264/X.264 mkv clips to test MPC-HC 754 with to see if it truly works, rather than being overly sensitive to anomalies.
Would it be possible to add an option to force MPC-HC to decode with DXVA, even if it detects anomalies (at the user's risk)?

Hey, you don't need to be that rude. His question isn't that bad. The idea to list in the subtitle menu all the subtitles in the folder is great. Or we can think in a better sintax, like 'moviefilename_XX', where XX is the language abbreviation, like US, BR, DE, etc. I think that sometimes is fine to have multi-language subtitles listed in your player, just like a DVD disc. ;)

The latter is already implemented:
movie.avi
movie.eng.srt
movie.ger.srt
Now both subtitles are loaded and can be chosen from the subtitle menu.

Yep, this indeed make easier handling subtitlies.

Anyway letting user chose, what suit him is better way IMO :). I would really aprreciate that hard programming work :)

With the last builds i'm not able to play continously an MPEG2 DVD with the internal Mpeg2 decoder. At some points (random) it freezes no matter what (it seems the same problem with the xvid standalone decoder). It seems doesn't show the problem with the ffdshow mpeg2 decoder.
Anyone has this issue?

I'm having a hard time to figure out how I can play mkv files with embedded subtitle streams in srt-format.
I cant select the subs from any of the menus in mpc.
When I disable the internal mkv support to use an external splitter, like Haali it does not work either. Haali Splitter shows the sub streams in system tray to choose from, but they are not displayed as well.
External srt files work fine.

Hmm...this question is a off-topic, but why mplayerc doesn't have mouse gesture functionality?
Edit:
Btw, is it me or the some of the function of the "Keys" is mislabelled? For example, "Display stat" and "shift subtitles right".

I have finally find a way to compile x64 edition with GCC http://smileys.inzenet.org/repository/Content/U_JUMP%7E1.GIF.
To do this, you should have :
- Download MingW64 chaintool for i686-mingw platform
(http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=202880&package_id=245516&release_id=546049)
- Download MSys, and configure it with MingW64 with postinstall script (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2435)
- Patch MSys with latest release of CoreUtils and Bash
- Install Subversion command line client from http://subversion.tigris.org (and add path in msys.bat if necessary)
To compile ffmpeg, start MSys and execute script : ..\mpcvideodec\ffmpeg_x64\buildffmpeg.sh
DO NOT copy manually libgcc.a and libmingwex.a to mpc "lib64" folder, the script will do it for you. The reason it's so complicated is that MingW64 libraries should be compiled with -fno-leading-underscore option to be link statically with Visual Studio.
If somebody want to compare performance between VS build and GCC build i have uploaded a release here :

You can use a previous "Stable Release" of MPC-HC to watch DVDs. Just create a separate folder and put it in there. You can rename the program "mplayerc-dvd.exe". Then set the AutoPlay for the DVD drive to run mplayerc-dvd.exe if the inserted medium is a DVD-Video.
You can also set the filetype ".vob" to have its default application to be mplayerc-dvd.exe.

Also enable "mplayerc-dvd.exe", Options, Player, "Store settings to .ini file" so it doesn't get affected by any other copies of mpc you have installed.

Hi guys,
I've made some trials again and have some questions:
Container mkv and two ways to watch subtitles. (haven't tried casimir's latest svn btw.)
First method:
Remuxing video and audio into mkv container and leave the srt separately and renaming those files in the same pre-names under the same folder; like test.mkv, test srt...
Here are the graphs:
arcsoft,
http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/2997/mkvtrialsse01ci9.th.jpg (http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mkvtrialsse01ci9.jpg)

Second method:
Remuxing video, audio and srt into the same container; lets call it test.mkv...
Graphs behind MPC-HC:
arcsoft,

Can somebody tell me please where this text pass thru filter comes from and why it is not apparent in separate files option?
Thanks.

This is a long thread. Trying to do too much with this player, I messed up completely.
My main purpose is to use the player for my Bd's and add subtitle.
Now nothing works any more. either I got the black screen or a frozen one and everything you can imagine.
Now for Bd's using the internal decoder with dvxa, :
Which other internal filters do I have to use, except the H 264/263 and AV1decoders.
Which one should I not use, is maybe better?
Which external filters do I enable?
Thank you!

Tough i guess you can't make much and the Decoder (ffdshow, ffmpeg) need to change and support frame accurate seeking (i guess that will never happen) :(

Ok so problem is not screenshot function, but the seeking. This job is the responsability of the video decoder, so yes accuracy will depends on it.

What decoders do you have?
Well I am just trying to use my internal ones, to use Dxva acceleration.
Now I finally managed to play the Mts file. I have to use all internal filters for that.Only works with Vmr 9 Renderless or 7, but then I get audio delays.
I noticed that ac3 filter which I did not selected in external filters comes in the filter chain sometimes. Even after I blocked it.
So the problem I am having tearing, from time to time, especially on travellings.
On Km player with core and Haali it works fine, bu i can not use this when the bitrate is too high as Dxva is activated.
Strangely enough on my regular computer, less powerful then my HC computer I have the same settings, and there I do not have these problems. but it seems that it doesn't want to use Ac3 filter....
For the rest I got Cyberlink 7, 8 decoders, Haali, Core and some others on my computer....

Tried different renderers and decoders (internal VC1 with/without DXVA, ffdshow), didn't change anything. The only thing I can do is uncheck the "MPEG TS/PS/PVA" box and use Haali's splitter.
I'm on WinXP x86 SP3, Q6600, Geforce 8800GT (177.92). I could replicate the problem on another Windows XP SP2 machine which hadn't seen MPC-HC before.
The shape of the artifacts is always the same from play to play, there is no randomness.
edit: Tried another XP installation, same behaviour. It also happens with v1.1.604.0.

Is it possible to add support for h.264 in pva (again)!? I know... it's a strange kombination:
Sample (http://www.mediafire.com/?yntrvjrbxtj)
... but (because of my old dvb hardware) it's the only way for me to do a record of the few hdtv broadcasts available here.
The only reason i ask: with "older" svn builds the h.264 videostream in pva files is recognized by the internal mpeg splitter. So (intentionally or unintentionally) h.264 in pva was supported. But with the recent svn builds (since 754) i only get to hear the audio stream - no video at all  .
