since rev 21a7ead LAV splitter stalls the system for ~1 minute with this MP4 sample, which only stalls for 0.5~2 seconds before. (OS: XP SP3)

That file starts to play immediately for me. No Stalling or anything.

Forgot to mention: LAV Splitter connects to MPC-HC's internal Video Decoder(DXVA1) / MPCVideoDec.ax(DXVA1) r4153.
Disabling DXVA in MPC-HC Video Decoder or using LAV Video have no problem.

Play fine for me with MPC-HC DXVA2 or Software, cannot test DXVA1.
In any case, seems more like a bug in the decoder.

Like i explained before, nothing really changed in the splitter, except some minor ffmpeg fixes.
So I post it here.

I think - we have green screen at begin only on Ati, on my GTX 460 no green, ~1sec it's black at you sample.

LAV Video decoder (DXVA) doesn't show the green frames.

I'll do my best to advocate for an release in next 2-3 weeks. Ivy Bridge is going to be ready afaik and we have fix applied already in trunk, so we must have release on time. Else Ivy users will have problems.

When subresync bar is enabled time is showed with more precise and that's good, but after rev3302 (https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mpc-hc/changeset/3302) Status bar and OSD shows wrong time. For example if we jump to 02:45.550 status bar will show 02:46.550 of course it is fine when millisecond are below 500 and jump to 00:02:46.499 is indeed 00:02:46.499 :)

BTW. Would it be possible to scroll down to current line in subresync automatically?

The MediaInfo dialog should get resized automatically so that no horizontal scrollbar is needed. Would be much better to read this way. Maybe the maximum horizontal size should be limited to 630px tho (to avoid too large windows on 640x480 screens).

P.S. just out of curiosity, maybe you know, which of the devs are so adamant against adding such an optional, not enable by default, GUI option ? since nothing has been done although everything has been provided

I think i found out what caused the black screens with DXVA and certain Decoder i though have no idea yet why ffdshow triggers this in MPC-HC if set in a certain Prefer order but im sure it is the cause and it's not because uncompressed rendering is active and it takes over it that's disabled but anyways its causing a black screen if i block it instead of prefer it's ok though it doesn't show up in the graph @ all that's the very strange thing about it it seems the graph build up normally but with ffdshow preferred in the order the Decoder even loaded before (in this case Cyberlinks VC-1 DXVA) fails with a black screen.

The most funny thing about it in the order Cyberlinks Decoder is even above ffdshow (preferred before ffdshow is preferred) but anyways ffdshow causes this black screen result if i block it no black screen anymore though the used Chain remains the same for both (prefer/block), though the splitter is bellow both as preferred.

Can someone direct me how to solve the issue when MPC-HC gets out from full screen mode randomly in the middle of movie, telling something like failed to render. I could not tell it exactly because it comes so suddenly and last for a couple of seconds.

It is really annoying and happens with every movie I watched recently. I think that appeared after release 4000.

I use internal MPC video decoder, AC3 external audio decoder and Halli Media Splitter on Windows 7 platform.

I am trying to get some aspect ratios to work with key assignments. I have an anamorphic lens, so I want to show either just normal 16:9 in a 16:9 window, or I want to show 2.35:1 in a 16:9 window. In other words, no black borders.
I see zoom 1 and zoom 2 can be selected by key assignments or shortcuts, but I don't know if they can be changed. Alternately I can have wide or ultra wide customizable, but can't see how to assign them to keys.
So how do I edit the settings for zoom1 or zoom2, or how can I assign shortcuts to those pan&scan settings?

Alternately, touch from outside (which can be left as the default setting), then select 4:3 by keyboard shortcut or "default" under the aspect ratio menu item. Can those be assigned to keys?

Ideally, I'd like to assign 2 separate keys to them, so I can program them on the remote. A toggle between them would do also, but I'd prefer the first. I'd also rather not see a menu item pop up.

Sorry, I did search the thread, but at nearly 1000 pgs, I don't think I'm going to find what I'm looking for.

I didn't looked @ the code but from the behavior i would say the decoder on top is enumerated first not the ones on the bottom, try it at least that's my experience.
Just did a simple test with 3 Mpeg2 Decoder all set on Prefer it uses the first in the list if i remove it the 2nd and so on so it seems definitely from top to bottom not from bottom to top that's also my experience all the time with it :)

A few words about my upgrading ffmpeg - this should give us only an improvement, especially in decoding and seeking H.264(I), the most in DXVA mode. Before my commit - H264 code have many custom code, that broken normal H.264 decoding, especially Interlaced material.

There are two places to change audio/subtitle stream.
First: "play"->"audio"/"subtitles" it show external tracks and muxed subtitles, but not always and only with internal splitter.
Second place is "navigate"->"audio"/"subtitle language" and it work with external filters, show all track, but not external subtitles and for example subtitles muxed in mkv.

It is confusing and I think many people could have problem with this. Why not to join two list into one and have all subtitles/streams always in one place? Could you explain why it is done like this?

Mingw x64 v1. - should not be used in conjunction with gcc 4.6.x and gcc 4.7.x.

I think that you would have to use VSFilter/DirectVobSub and use LAV Video's CUDA or DXVA2 copy-back options.

I know how to re-install the Lucida Console font. Now in 1.6.1.4215 we have a proper falback to "Courier New". So it's fixed in MPC-HC now ( http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mpc-hc/ticket/2080 ). Just the font size for "Courier New" should be 1 size larger: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mpc-hc/ticket/2090 (that ticket is not fixed yet).


Don't know why you fight so much against it. If it would be a "system font" then Windows shouldn't allow me to delete it. But it does.


MPC-HC now got better as it doesn't rely on one single font.

Is this problem reproducible please ?

1) Pause a video
2) Goto (CTRL-G)
3) Put in a random but existing frame number & click "ok"
4) Repeat step 2 and go to the same frame number...

... each time you do, the video skips 1 frame further although it keeps on saying it's on the same frame. (Frame numbers out of sync, until you close MPC-HC.)

* happens with all content.
