Pirlouy,

Your filter list not complete. Something is going wrong during the construction of the Graph. Could you try using the "Microsoft Network Provider" instead of the DVBT one? I have two cards and one only works with the first one and the other with the DVBT one.

If everything is OK, you should get a black screen after selecting "Open device". Before starting chanel scan, make sure that the "BDA MPEG Transport Information Filter" is not present in the filter list. The scan process might crash if present.

Please report your results.

Do you also have this blocky picture on H264-files with DXVA on ATI-cards? It happens only with files that have 480p-resolution for me.

Files with 720p and 576p-resolution run without errors on my ATI-GPUs with DXVA activated (tested with Radeon 4770 and 5450 and 5770).

This happens since Catalyst 10.2, I tried older versions of MPC and they have all the same bug now. So it seems related to changes in the GPU driver from ATI.

The DXVA-enabled FFDShow decoder does show the same errors with the latest GPU-drivers from ATI.

Im currently experiencing problems with VMR9/EVR (custom, sync and standard) not respecting display width/height of matroska anymore. Only Haali works. Tried using an older build and both haali's and internal splitter. I'm on 1672 but even reverting to the "stable" build didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

If the navigation menu Bluray is currently not available for a matter of rights and licenses, regarding the management of the forced subtitles there is hope? :(

This would be a wonderful thing though is not easy, but no room for hope. (post (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1374940&postcount=11959) - Ticket #267 (http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mpc-hc/ticket/267))

Compliments to the developers for this wonderful player

EVR Sync doesn't seem to work on Quicktime and Real media files.
MPC crashes when I try to play the files with renderer set to EVR Sync.
But they play when MPC's renderer is set to the other choices.

Ok, I'm not surprised as I have deleted all code that was specific to those two media types.I can't see any good technical reason for why certain types of video encoding should need their own renderer. I'll look into it. Thanks! -A

Somewhere between r1623 and r1635 the /open command-line switch regressed to auto-playing the file once it's opened rather than just opening the file and leaving it paused.
The only actual code changes occurred in r1627, r1628, r1633 and r1635.

I have a problem with MPC-HC showing corrupted video with separated chaptered files. It basically plays correctly only one of them.

All chapters play well if I load one of them alone, but when loaded automatically they get corrupted.

I also can't figure out why if I remux a file and just add more subtitles to the original one, all the chapter links get lost. I only want to modify the subtitles. Is there a way to do this?

As far as I know ordered chapters require all files to have the same number and type of streams and attachments. You'd have to add a subtitle stream to all of the files to make it work.

Fadeout

Can't upload a sample because as I said the individual files play correctly. It's when they are loaded through chapters that they get corrupted.

And can't upload them also because this an anime :) Basically I have OP and ED that are shown corrupted and the main file that plays correctly. It's probably a problem of the splitter than the player...

Seems like you are not the only one, first google hit: http://www.cccp-project.net/forums/index.php?topic=4113.0 .
But if you're unable to provide samples things like these will never get fixed. Go the the MPC-HC bug tracker, as its not part of this forum, maybe they'll accept it. I wouldn't expect any more help on here unless you come up with some legit material.

Could you tell us what is your current configuration in "Capture" and what is the list you get in View->Filters? after going to "Open device"?
I have the exact same configuration as the one seen in Pirlouy's screenshots (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1375597#post1375597) but with a different device name. The filters list is also the same, again with the name of my device.

Microsoft Network Provider is not available for me. Are available:
Microsoft ATSC Network Provider
Microsoft DVBS Network Provider
Microsoft DVBC Network Provider
Microsoft DVBT Network Provider
So I have choosen the DVBT one because that's what I'm trying to tune up.

Hello,

is there possibility that the "search bar" is revamped (black color ?)

or type "floating"
as "splayer" or "windows media player 12"

is really something that is too "Windows 95" on MPC HC

especially that MPC HC takes advantage of the taskbar in Windows 7 (stop, play, etc... buttons)

The regression is in r1635. I'll check.

I use it although Im confused by the two options, one to apply the default resolution and the other to restore resolution. The latter implies it will resize back the screen to the resolution used before mpc-hc changed it but not the refresh rate. I use the default resolution option because I want to screen to go back to a set hz also.

Bah, indeed, I don't understand the need: if you exit fullscreen, it's in order to close player (there's already another option for that) or launch another file, isn't it ?

I think you'll have to explain more why X-Dron should not remove this option.

I don't know if this issue has been addressed, but when I select a bunch of files (10, 20, 30, from a directory), and start playing them, them jumping from one to another, there's always a point where MPC-HC crashes. I mean, the videos can be played with no issues at all. It's just that we can't read all files at once. I hate when that happens - crashing at random. There's no way to predict when is going to happen.

For the record, this time I tested with 55 files (AVIs and some WMVs) from a folder.

Fixed in changeset 1690 "audiorender option remove when use in command line"
The description is not correct. From r1635 to 1689 the command-line switch "audiorender" has been reset all other switches.
Now all works correctly. Audiorender switch too.

Hi X-Dron,

I have a problem WRT auto refresh rate changer. Recently I've change my graphics card to ATI HD5770, and auto refresh changer doesn't work for me any more. When MPC tries to change the refresh rate, it disconnect my TV first and then re-connect to my TV (TV shows no sing), and it takes up to 10 seconds to change the refresh rate which crashes MPC-HC since it couldn't find the screen. Do you think it's a driver issue or it's something need special coding for HD5xxx graphics card? Thanks!

Hi, I tried to install the lastest MPC-HC and follow your instructions, but it still doesn't work. It seems that everytime when it tries to change refresh rate it disconnect my TV and reset Graphics card and then reconnect to my TV again. Even when MPC disable aero sometimes my graphics card is reset. Does other HD5xxx user have such problem? Thanks!!!

Is it possible to replace the internal Vorbis Theora OGG? filters based on ffmpeg (also FLAC) with other based on this "official" ones ? ( SVN at http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/oggdsf/ )

This sync thing sounds mostly for LCDs because of their technical drawbacks and to some extent also for PLASMAs.

You could use Sync Renderer @ present at nearest and tweak target sync offset visually with Ctrl&Alt+Up/Down until you find an interval that does not jigsaw your graph (3.5-8=ok, 8-13=bad, 13.5-18=ok...etc).

You could use EVR/EVR Custom and Vsync OFF as I do on my CRT.

Better yet, don't look at stats when using your high refresh rate CRT and use default MPC-HC settings. I bet you don't have problems with video/audio not in sync.

As I told above, With present at nearest, it's the same problem.

Usefull or useless with a CRT is not the problem, the problem here is that there is a problem with fullscreen and MPC and sync optimisation.
It's not normal that it's works with windowed mode or fulscreen mode with seek bar visible and that it doesn't work with fullscreen without seek bar visible.

The new features:
Automatic playback the next file in folder.
Playback the next file in folder using key/command "Skip forward"
Playback the previous file in folder using key/command "Skip back"
Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGJOYQ3sOqU)

All it works when only one media file in playlist.

I was looking around, how could consecutive load Something.CD1.avi and Something.CD2.avi, without manually adding them in playlist. And this post above have just pop up. Is that what those new features are about?

I use mpc-hc x64 (latest build - i update it always). for some time i have a problem no matter the build. When i'm playing on my extended display (n lg tv ) randomly the it starts dropping frames (or at least this is the best i can describe it). The motion isnt' cursive anymore is like watching a movie @ 10-12 FPS. Problem is when i click to show stats the problem goes away and in stats everthing seems fine. The only solution for this is, to exit full screen, drag (yap drag it- move it a lil on display) the mpc-hc window then go back in fullscreen.
This happens random no matter what movie i watch or what codec is used. It happened to Xvids, DVDs, x264. It happens even if i use other decoders that mpc-hc's builtin one. (Ive tried with Xvid / ffdshow / ffdshow dxva / microsoft dvt decoder - the one that win7 comes w/). Problem is it happens only with mpc-hc 32/64 bit on EVR custom / Evr sync. with other players everthing is ok or other render.

My specs are: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (Build #7600) CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8400,* 3.00 GHz, 6144 KB Video: ATI Radeon HD 5770*(1680x1050x32bpp 60Hz) Sound:*ASUS Xonar D1.
For extended display i use a FULLHD LG TV @ 60 HZ

The problem manifested on Vista too, and on my older video card (ati 4670) im using latest video driver (catalyst 10.2 - but happened w. older versions too). Directx im using the one provided in a link on xvidvideo.ru.

Is there anything i can do ? since i tried to live w/ other players but there is nogo, im used too much with mpc-hc.

P.S. dunno if it matters but im using ac3filter (latest version) instead on mpc-hc builtin one.

Please any idea or advise is more than welcomed.

Vsync and alternative sync are off, but no matter how i put them, I still have the problem

Would someone please fix this error?
Exactly why do you consider this an error (because that is normal menu bar behaviour when there's not enough space for all menus) - and what stops you from making the window a bit wider so the menu bar fits into a single line?

This is great! I always loved that The KMPlayer was able to do this. Great work! Thank you, so much.

One feature request; can someone please implement an OSD interface? something that would appear on hovering above the window. Something minimal like
<< |> >> --------------------------- 2:00/38:00 <V>
Prev Play Next Seekbar time Volume

This is to save space on laptop screens by using 1 and not having to switch to 3 every time you want to seek or change the volume

I've a strange problem with EVR renderer:
When I have Aero enabled and choose D3D with GUI support surface, I get tearing in the bottom of the screen.
When I choose D3D full, I don't get any tearing during the playback. However, everytime when I quit by pressing ctrl+C, my screen goes black and I have to use windows shortcut ctrl-alt-del in order to bring my desktop back.
My setup is as follows:
Windows 7, XFX HD5770, ATI CCC10.2 and latest MPC-HC.
Thanks a lot!
