1) first problem: problem with HD subtitle and some blu-rays
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2805913&group_id=170561&atid=854651
With some blu-ray movies, some subtitles are not displayed with MPC-HC 1160
(this problem exists from the start of HD subtitle support).
When two subtitles must be displayed in the same time, only one subtitle is
displayed.
I give you an example of video (ten minutes cut in 7 parts)
The problem appeared between 8 minutes and 9 min30 during the generic.
There is two subtitles normally displayed: the subtitle of song and the
subtitle of text displayed on the screen. Only the subtitle of the text
displayed on the screen is displayed and not the subtitle of the song.
I try with powerdvd ultra 7.3 and it works very well. The both subtitles
are displayed.
example:
part 1/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/612945147e235956/
part 2/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/61294648d3270b91/
part 3/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/61296188690f1da3/
part 4/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/61298073e4e531b4/
part 5/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/612980765b76eeea/
part 6/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/6131235286731ecd/
part 7/7
http://www.zshare.net/download/61308949809f22a1/
I add file with all subtitles obtained with supread to show that some
subtitles are not displayed.
http://www.zshare.net/download/61317131a8f7ba09/
this problem still exists with mpc-HC 1179
2)second problem:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2795839&group_id=170561&atid=854651
The problem with separated subtitle and opendvd function with evrcustom is
repaired but I have a problem with 1117 and the display of subtitle with
VMR9renderless
The problem is that with vmr9 it doesn't work as well as before. With
1.2.972 the subtitle are well displayed and are sync with sound. With 1117
some subtitles are displayed and disappeared before the right time.
Although the sync still exists. But the display of the subtitles is shorter
than with mpc homecinema 972 and it's more hard to read them
I give you a video captured by fraps to show the problem
vmr9renderless with mpc-hc 972

http://www.zshare.net/info.html?60353398-b045b40ad86adf102458406f5ff12343
We can notice that with 972, subtitle are displayed correctly. With 1117,
subtitle disappeared faster.
at 5 seconds of 1117 and 6 seconds for the video with 972 there is two
subtitles displayed :
the first: [month of Sokarh, 7th day : 15:48]
the second: you've always spoken like that.
With 1172 when the first subtitle disappeared, the second also disappeared.
Then It appeared anew.
With 972 when the first subtitle disappeared, the second doesn't
disappeared and stay until the right end.
Moreover the transition between the subtitles are smoother with 972 than
1117
I give you 1 min of the movie

subtitle file
http://www.zshare.net/info.html?60355230-4f7519cc428c9d3023b00f9fbd7c5e02

@ikarad,
There is no point in repeating your bug reports over and over again. You will just have to wait and be patient.
You can monitor the changelog here:
http://mpc-hc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mpc-hc/?view=log
If the log does not mention anything about those bugs, then it means they have not yet been fixed.

There's a change in the way open file works that I think should be reverted to the old behavior.
When I select File > Open file..., if I select a file from the recent list and click Browse, MPC used to open the directory that file resides in. e.g., if I choose a file called "D:\video\home\cat.avi" from the recent drop down list, then when I click Browse it will open at the d:\video\home\ directory. This behavior makes sense.
However, now MPC always opens at the last directory that I opened a file from. Since it's always possible to go to the last used directory by File > Quick open file..., I think this behavior is not only redundant but takes away a functionality that is both convenient and logical. I'd like to see this revert to the previous behavior. Hope this makes sense.
Btw, I am using windows 7. I don't know if this is a windows 7 issue or a change in MPC.

Might be related to Win 7, I noticed different file browser behavior in my applications switching from XP to Win 7. Why not try a older MPC build to find out?

It's bad idea. As now - you can install MediaInfo.dll from developers site(it's copy to %WINDIR%\System32) and don't need in MPC folder. if MediaInfo.dll update - copy and all.
If link static - need add many source to project, and update sometimes.

Doesn't make sense to me. In this case, why not do that for all internal libraries ? MediaInfo library needs zlib (already in mpc-hc project) and zenlib. That's all. and I'm pretty sure that some internal libs used by mpc-hc are bigger than mediainfo.

mediainfo is a good addition but it doesn't needed for actual playback. If there is some libraries that doesn't hurts playback or some major features if removed, IMHO better to keep them separate.

Users may have different versions of mediainfo dll. Does mpc-hc support all versions? If mediainfo is added to mpc libs then I know exactly what version is used.

The internal splitter gives me the wrong aspect ratio for my anamorphic videos from my Sony HandyCam (1440 x 1080). The Haali splitter gives the correct aspect (16 x 9) so I'd like to select the Haali splitter exactly for this media type and no other. I've tried to add Haali as an external filter and pasted in the media type {31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71} for it. I also tried "Any type" as a subtype. Not sure if this is how it is supposed to be done. Anyway, Haali doesn't kick in unless i disable the internal source filter for MPEG etc. The external decoder *does* kick in though, even if I don't disable the corresponding internal decoder.
I don't quite understand how this is supposed to work. Any hints anybody?
Haven't checked if there is a bug report on the internal splitter regarding this. I should do that...
-Arto
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm using the CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder bacause the MPC video decoder does not do a good job with my AVCHD files, at least not with VMR9 in revision 1230 on Windows XP. So it's the combination of internal splitter and CyberLink that gives the wrong aspect ratio. Internal splitter and internal decoder produces the correct aspect ratio but artifacts in the video. Haali + CyberLink produces a beatiful, frame-doubled video but I need to totally disable the internal source filter for MPEG PS/...

Don't see problem here. Mediainfo that 100% works with current version should be included into download package.

Wouldn't be better to have all the audio settings in one location ? cause placing audio options in different locations it's confusing and it's making them hard to find and manage
One way it's to move ac3/ dts / aac decoder settings & speaker setup & "output sample format" "page" in the audio switcher "page" together with the other audio options and rename the main page from "audio switcher" to "audio options" ( audio switcher will be one of the options) and if possible also add independent volume for each channel ?

it's just additional info, you don't have to view it if you don't like. it's not like that tab opens when you hit shift+f10.
But ya I like the the option of viewing file info without opening mediainfo soft.
