Strange I don't have this problem (second one) and I'm using Windows 7's + Nero's VC-1 & DTS-HD decoders !
But I don't have Haali (or had ) installed nor any other "codecs" or splitters on my system
The problem appears only when using external filters and splitters like ffdshow and Haali splitter.

Hi.
I have couple cuestions about MPC-HC.

I've been wondering if there is any possibilities to get h264/x264 videos with resolution under 1280x720p to be decoded using coreAVC and ffdshow, and everything else with MPC-HC's internal h264/AVC codec with DXVA? Reason is that I want use ffdshow's reziser and deband filters for low quality videos because picture quality is much better than with DXVA.

Another problem is that if I use bicubic A = 1.00 (PS2.0) video start lagging pretty badly, but if I use bilinear it works fine, my GPU is Radeon HD4200.

Is there any possibility to make MPC-HC change to output refresh rate between 24hz, 50hz & 60hz, deciced by the input framerate?

I have recently have some problems with internal H264/AVC DXVA filter with latest anime releases that use x264, the screen is full of artifac or then it's just green, older releases works w/o any problems.

I have done some playing around with a debug build of MPC. I have further narrowed down where it goes wrong on Windows 7.

Below is the part of the log that concerns the graph creation when playing a simple AVI file (Xvid/MP3). As you can see it goes wrong at step 141. EVR CP is tried as a candidate for connecting to the video output pin of the source filter (why?) and of course fails. It takes about 2 seconds before the next candidate filter is tried.

Something odd is happening here. If I enable VMR9-renderless, MPC-HC is not showing all subtitle tracks embedded on M2TS. It's ommiting some languages (sometimes reports that the video has no subtitles at all). If I choose VMR7, it seems all of them are displayed. But VMR7 is having some lags displaying the image - VMR9 not.

Can you guys tell me what kind of filter is loading all those subtitles embedded on M2TS files from Blu-ray projects?

I simply decrypted the Blu-ray from the movie and tried to play the main/larger M2TS and this problem pops out. It wasn't happening before. The only thing that I did here was adding "Direct VobSub (auto-loading)" on "External filters" from MPC and after that, removed from the list (or changed the merit before doing that). I guess that was enough to mess with MPC.

Is there a way to clean MPC-HC for good when it comes to filter merits and all configs that look like set in stone even if you uninstall every codec/MPC itself? There should be a program only developed to clean this mess with codecs and filters. I don't know why MPC keeps loading some Windows register setting everytime it's reinstalled. I need a clean install to make sure the wrong settings are not interfering with anything. It would really help if I could see what needs to be selected on this screen:

Problem that I just noticed. When you register MPC - MPA Decoder (MpaDecFilter.ax) as a system filter in Windows, and then set it for 5.1 analog audio output on AC3 and DTS, MKV files fail to start when played in Windows Media Player. Thought it was a bad setting that I couldn't find so I reloaded my Vista MCE machine and it was the same after reload. I then tried the settings on my Windows 7 desktop and it was the same thing. Using either Haali or Gabest MKV splitter and MPC - MPA Decoder registered as a system filter you cannot playback MKV files in WMP when audio decoding is set to analog 5.1 in the MPC - MPA Decoder filter. Tried with numerous files using both AC3 and DTS as the source audio, same result. If you run the file through GraphStudio it renders fine but fails in actual playback. Access to the properties page was gained via Softella's Directshow Filter Manager. Strangely though AVI files with AC3 audio playback fine with the same settings. Seems like a MKV splitter issue but both Haali and Gabest give the same results. Also, 5.1 analog audio works fine if you use AC3Filter to do the DTS or AC3 decoding. Thoughts.

Some sort of random stuttering was introduced with 1312. It does not happen very often, if it does only pause/play helps. At first i thought it only occurs at the start of the movie - but once in a while it occurs during a movie - enabling desktop composition might help, but on some systems has other "stutter" issues. The last working version is 1311 - no stutter for me (Alternate vsync, vsync on, EVR CP, DXVA & desktop composition disabled, Win7).

Apart from using complete sentences, I suggest you start by either resetting your MPC-HC settings or if that's too much, see if disabling shaders fixes it. How are you measuring the FPS anyway?

If you seek in a video after you change audio tracks in an M2TS file (maybe others) but before the change actually takes place, MPC-HC either crashes or starts playing the video back at full speed without audio.

Also, the MPEG splitter is still broken when it comes to detecting subtitles. Notice the subtitles/seek position:

You can get it working if you comment out mpcaudiorenderer (which is in an alpha state and disabled anyway)

On freshly installed Win7 x64, the MPC x86 couldn't accelerate VC1 files on my GF9600GT with EVR Custom presenter... It have been working on WinXP (WMR9) ...
In filters I see: MS Video DMO, and MS Audio DMO, on statistics Mixer: NV12, DXVA: Not available (on WinXP was: iDCT...)

Any thoughts?

I hadn't checked if there was a delay for a change in audio streams to kick in in a previous version. Was using a much earlier version anyway. Due to crashes or hangs I'd been a bit wary of changing audio streams. Not anymore 8-) I can test it with 1356 if you like.

Thanks for the replay but I think it is not a splitter problem. I think it is a decoder problem.

Tests:

Monogram splitter + MPC-HC decoder = mutes after a few seconds.
MPC-HC spliter + Monogram decoder = plays fine from start to end
MPC-HC spliter + MPC-HC decoder = mutes after a few
Monogram splitter + Monogram decoder = plays fine from start to end

BTW Monogram AMR decoder package include a decoder, splitter, muxer and an encoder.

FFDShow can also play the samples from start to end just fine. Of course without any Monogram.

You can make a sample easily.. just use x264 with --crf 0.
And it doesn't matter what hardware either as none of them support High Profile 4:4:4. But if it makes you feel any better, tested on ATI and Intel GPUs. :p
