Cheers. I see True HD has been fixed. Now to try DTS HD Master Audio, not expected to hear any problems though.

The E-AC3 streams from this file:
http://www.zshare.net/download/579004245e2aae49/
are playing too fast in MPC-HC.
What is wrong ?
With latest Alexins' build (actually v1040) it's now playing at the normal speed.
But when played on a computer with standard stereo speakers, and with Windows and MPC-HC set to stereo, the output channel mapping is wrong. For instance with the E-AC3 5.1 track:
FL is OK
Center is heard at the Right
FR is heard at the Center (both L and R)
RS is heard at the Left
LS is not heard at all
LFE is heard at the Right
However the channels output of the 'regular' AC3 5.1 track is correct.

if you could make the FLAC splitter able to connect to ffdshow's FLAC decoder that'd be awesome, because it only works w/ the MPC built-in decoder at this point :o
and MPC HC's decoder can't output 16 bit or 24 bits depending on the input, not too handy...luckily, there's still 32 float :)
BTW, MPC HC/ffdshow FLAC decoders are using the same code I guess? does it play 24/96 w/o downsampling?
I've put a 24/96 5.1 FLAC sample here :

Try using the buildffmpeg.sh script (in trunk\src\filters\transform\mpcvideodec\ffmpeg_x64), it will do all the job for you ;)

When I want to see a dvd movie (I use open dvd function)+ load external subtitles (I use load subtitle function).
Under vmr9 renderless
Subtitles appeared during ads or logos before the start of the movie. But When the movie starts, subtitles restart from the beginning

Strange... I ran MPC with the /minidump switch, but it isn't generating a .dmp file. I also tried running MPC in Vista and XP compatibility modes (I'm using Windows 7), but it gave the same results.
I also just discovered that it doesn't crash on all my FLACs... just a majority of them. I've gone ahead and attached a sample from one of the FLACs that crashes.

Ffdshow's FLAC decoder is 16 bit.
What's wrong with MadFLAC? It's perfect.
oh ok thanks for the confirmation, I thought I read about that
how about MPC HC's decoder? same stuff?
well madflac gives garbage audio through ffdshow audio + Waveout on XP w/ 5.1 24/96 FLAC....and ffdshow audio's "number of channels" autoload condition doesn't work w/ MPC HC's audio decoder(also not working w/ AC3filter).
oh well I'll convert my 5.1 24/96 FLAC to WavPack I guess..
Mark_A_W
7th April 2009, 03:48
I didn't think MPC HC had a flac decoder?
How about MadFlac -> Reclock with WASAPI? That's what I do for audio files.
(Actually I do Madflac -> Ffdshow upconvert to 32 bit integer -> Convolver Plug-in (for Digital Room Correction, no workee in 24bit) -> Reclock with WASAPI...but I digress)
leeperry
7th April 2009, 03:58
oh yes, MPC HC does have one....but it's prolly using ffdshow's code, which is 16bit anyhow :(
yep, that's really weird..I dunno what's up, 5.1 24/96 FLAC in madflac>ffdshow>waveout=garbage audio but it's fine in madflac>ffdshow>reclock(in waveout)
for the record my WaveOut drivers are bit-perfect....but Mike5 tried and confirmed that it all works out fine in Win7 for him, but not on XP SP3 : http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1269665&postcount=350
too bad Reclock makes terrible glitches at the beginning of audio files when there's no video(even if I add +1000ms delay in ffdshow audio) and that's just plain annoying...oh well I guess my only real option is converting to WavPack

Convolver takes a few seconds to fire up anyway - there's at least 5 seconds from me pressing play to getting sound, but I don't recall any missing sound.

well, Reclock "eats" the first half second of any video files...but for audio files it seems even longer and makes ugly glitches, even if I add a 1 second delay in ffdshow.
but w/ 5 seconds there's no way you could hear it ;)
BTW, if someday you try an nvidia card, there's a CUDA convolution reverb(it should work in ffdshow audio ;)) : http://www.liquidsonics.com/publicbeta/
I don't get glitches or other malfunction, either.

well I'm also using Reclock for movies, so I have to leave the prebuffer enabled...and you can't have 2 instances running AFAIK?
Nope! Mpc-hc is using libflac.
oh good! hopefully someday ffdshow's "number of channels" autoload condition will work w/ MPC HC's audio decoder(& AC3Filter) then all my problems w/ madflac on XP will be solved

I remember, my test is with True HD Track, i will test this evening with other BD non true HD Track.
I have an additional question, now MPC-HC can read BD easily, you think it's possible to include a Passthrough HD Track with HDMI output, for receiver convert HD track (Dolby True or DTS MA) ?

I wonder if there is a player that uses windowless mode since MPC video decoder and ffdshow don't seem to work properly in windowless mode, see my support request here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsdirectshowdevelopment/thread/75b660a1-0d37-4139-9fd3-3e1252a39714?prof=required&ppud=4
edit: indeed MPC and ffdshow decoder don't work properly on my system, I've verified using Zoom Player and my own player both using VMR9 windowless, after seeking using the trackbar there are arbitrary video freezes. I've tested XviD and mainconcept decoder without having this problem.
edit2:
The problem is not rather windowed or windowless but rather the number of streams on the renderer because the default for windowed is 1 stream and the default for windowless is 4 streams. This don't resolve any of my issues but it might get me closer to find a solution.

I get compile errors with this script, which is odd as my setup compiles libavcodec_gcc.lib fine using a simple .bat script (and I mean simple, it consists of: make all; pause :))
I appreciate this is not the place for gcc/bash help tho, I'll have another play later, but could someone post the .a files in the meantime?
Thanks

For x64, it's not as simple as using "make" like in Win32. First, the makefile should be build with "make 64BIT=yes". Second, Visual C++ have different rule for function decoration, so you will probably have unresolved external.
To fix this, MingW64 libraries should be rebuild. My script do all this, and should be launch from MSys command prompt.

If you don't use the extra audio tracks, why don't you just get rid of them? You'd save yourself space too that way.

If you use Haali media splitter you can prioritise audio languages.
How? Media splitter settings --> languages --> audio language priority --> put in: " eng "for english.

Hhm, might gonna try that. But I believe that won't work since the audio tracks, muxed into the avi file have no language flag. It just shows Audio 1 and Audio 2 in MPC.
