Yes, the 64 bit version only works with 64 bit filters, and sadly corecodec only made 32bit.
There is a 64bit version of CoreAVC, but they are not releasing it until the 64bit of version of Haali Splitter is ready (quote).
Evidently, you can run 32bit MPC and 32bit CoreAVC under Vista64, according to one user.

Smal issue I just noticed under the following scenario:
I was playing a (for simplicity's sake) 2:00:00 long movie from a network share and got to the 5:00 mark when the network share went down - I promptly hit pause. After the network share came back online, I stopped then started the movie again and seeked to about 4:45 and resumed play. As soon as it hit the 5:00 mark, it went to the very end of the movie and stopped playing. Only solution was to close the file then reopen it.

Hello,
Would it be possible to have an alternative time display when clicking on the video time?
For example, it would switch from 00:01 / 24:14 to 00:01 / 24:14.276 (in order to display the total time as precisely as possible).

you should read this:
Hi everyone,
I have become the project manager for MPC-HC.
This basically means that i will be keeping the bug/feature tracker up to date and do the updates on the SF pages.
At the moment we have about 42 Bugs on the bugtracker.
Below is a list of bugs that need confirmation from the users here.
I would like to ask everyone here to browse through the list and see if you can confirm a bug, or confirm that there is no problem, please update the ticket with your findings
You can see the whole list here:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/?limit=100&func=&group_id=170561&atid=854651&assignee=&status=2&category=&artgroup=&keyword=&submitter=&artifact_id=&limitz=100&assignee=&status=&category=&artgroup=&submitter=&keyword=&artifact_id=&reset=Reset&limitz=100&mass_category=&mass_priority=&mass_resolution=&mass_assignee=&mass_artgroup=&mass_status=&mass_cannedresponse=
Please update/create a bug ticket on the SF page and include the following information:
-Windows and servicepack versions
-MPC-HC build version
-If appropriate FFdshow build number
-Videocard and driver version
-Renderer used and options selected in the output settings
-A sample so we can test it on our systems
And ofcourse as clear as possible instructions on how to reproduce

Hi !
There is any way to automatically change the refresh speed of the monitor where the file is to be played ?
I use an LCD monitor as principal and my Z2000 as secondary, but I always have to use mediainfo to see the framerate of the file, then change it using the catalyst control center, and then play the film.
It would be fantastic to play the file and MPC to change automatically the refresh speed of the screen where it is displayed.
In the options, I've seen there the possibility to change the resolution, but the options showed are only for the main monitor, I suppose, because I don't see any HD resolution. And this affects to the refresh speed to but we will have the same problem.
Here in Spain is very frequent to have files at 25 fps and at 23,967.
It would be ideal to have a table like for files
at use
23,976 24 fps
24 24 fps
25 50 fps
30 60 fps
....
Because there are people without 24 fps ready displays.
Same request here. Is it possible? Or is it possible to expand the "Change fullscreen resolution" function to 1920x1080 32bpp 24hz and 50hz?
By the way @Beliyaal: The Mplayerc chrashes if i use the german language and choose output in options

I tested your sample and it seems that the sound is simply empty. I have however changed the code slightly, so if you try my latest build and check if it works and report back I can submit the fix to SVN.
Aspect ratio hopefully fixed.

thanks.
I try with trial version of powerdvd 8 and there is no sound.
It is very strange that mpc-HC detect two soundtracks.
Even with the last version of MPc-HC 1.2.972.0 MLP soundtrack doesn't work, is-it normal because in the log file there is "Support for MLP audio stream"?
In Ghost in the shell blu-ray when i want to select mlp soundtrack, I d'ont have sound. I have sound just with lpcm soundtrack.
To have sound with mlp soundtrack i must use ffdshow
i give you 30 seconds of the video where mlpc soundtrack doesn't work (ghost in the schell)

If I select 4.1 (2front+2near) or 5.1 (3front + 2 near) I don't have sound with mlp soundtrack.
If I select LFE I d'ont have sound even with mono
Rq: I have sound with other 5.1 .mkv video that use ac3 codec even with 5.1 selected in codec options
Rq2: I try also under vista and here i have only sound with mono or stereo speakers selected in ac3 codec options

I notice a another bug with MPc-HC.
With some blu-ray (only some and not all), If I select MLP soundtrack, the framerate is only 12.4 i/s, if not with lpcm soundtrack or dts soundtrack, framerate is 23.97 i/s

A comment reminded me of another minor, but long standing problem.
When you pause MPC-HC for a few seconds, and press play it works fine.
When you pause MPC-HC for many minutes, and press play, it starts for a few seconds, and then there is either a short glitch, or sometimes it hangs.
My guess is that after a while, Windows Vista is removing the RAM memory that is being pointed to.

MPC-HC has a bug/feature where it merges its default shader list with your current shader list.
As a result, some shaders may get listed multiple times with different names.
Tip for everyone:
Remove the [Shaders] section from your mplayerc.ini file or remove the 'Shaders' key from the registry to reset the list (and remove the duplicates).

my system: xp sp2 / .net 3 / ati hd2600pro agp / cat 8.11
Welcome to the world of the 2600pro agp and winxp. There are two mysteries:
1) DXVA works with vmr7(windowed) and overlay
2) DXVA produces jumping/frames corruption in evr and vmr9 if and only if the displayed window is larger then 1400 x 960 and material is 1920x1080 high bitrate (e.g. bluray and not some recoded mkv). So if you have a 1920x1080 display you got a problem (no matter what registry tweaks)
---> up to now it seems like the 2600pro agp seems to have a hardware limit with vmr9 and evr
----> BUT: Powerdvd 7 works with DXVA at 1920x1080 and uses vmr9(renderless)---thats the mystery! Maybe initialization of the renderer is different, nobody knows.
Solution: Use overlay or vmr7 with DXVA, even though you will not be able to use subtitles. Also i would recommend using cat 8.5 because its the most stable - no blue screens of death when franatically seeking in DXVA playback

Please evaluate my fixes to the VMR9 renderless and EVR Custom renderers and report any problems.
When reporting bugs please include:
* Operating system, and service pack
* Graphics card, and driver version
* Which output renderer you are using
* If in Vista, are you running aero with desktop composition (transparent window title bars)
* If possible also include a screencap with statistics enabled
Media Player Classic HomeCinema (x86), svn 979 + Beliyaal Fixes Ver 6 (http://www.olofsson.info/mpchc/MPCHC_x86_svn979_beliyaal_6.zip)
Ver6:
* When VSync is off drawtime and VSync dependant calculations disabled resulting in a straight jitter graph.
* Fixed Min/Max jitter calculation that was broken in last build.
Ver5:
* Corrected VSync wait when not accurate mode is enabled.
* Fixed incorrect aspect ratio calculations.
* Fixed an OSD threading crash.
* Made LPCM resync after seek safer.
Ver4:
* Fixed a deadlock at startup.
* Fixed high CPU usage.
* Added option for using "Accurate VSync". This will slightly increase CPU usage, but should you only need to enable it if you want a perfectly straight jitter curve, which isn't really necessary. Accurate VSync will always be used when enabling "Alternative VSync" in Output options.
* Added option to disable Fullscreen GUI support. This is accessed through right click menu, or View menu.
* Fixed the right click menu for fullcreen without D3D fullscreen mode.
Ver3:
* Fixed open DVD crash.
Ver2:
* Updated with fix for incorrect aspect ratio.
Thanks!
This is what is different from SVN:
General fixes
Changed: The right click menus have been somewhat re-arranged.
Fixed: The OSD seek bar for in fullscreen no longer dissapears.
Fixed: DTS HD MA audio data is stripped so only core data remains so DTS HD works with spdifer. Not sure if this is the way to do it? Is it possible to passthrough DTS MA currently? Should we leave it as this until it is?
Fixed: The performance counter in AfxGetApp() run out of precision of a 64 bit integer, this caused its values to be incorrect after the computer has been running for a long time.
VMR9 and EVR Custom
New: Screen space pixel shaders.
New: New "Alternate VSync" mode added. Configurable in the Output settings.
New: When "Alternative VSync" is enabled in render properties you can control the VSync offset with Ctrl+Alt+Up and Ctrl+Alt+Down.
New: Misc statistics added to the statistics display (some of the statistics are only updated with EVR Custom renderer).
New: Right click menus are now available in fullscreen mode.
Changed: Status display now uses a fixed width font with a shadow to increase readability.
Changed: Use D3D9Ex device when available.
Fixed: OSD update in renderer made trhead safe.
Fixed: Video stopped rendering when pixel shaders are enabled and the video is dragged to another monitor.
Fixed: Centering of FPS jitter is now automatic.
Fixed: BeginScene/EndScene was used in many places. It should only be used ONCE per Present call. This fixed statistics display on Intel graphics.
EVR Custom Only
New: Added a audio/video sync offset graph to the statistics display.
New: The renderer now provides the Sync offset statistic in the interface (Displayed in the statistics bar).
New: Added a smoothing function of the graph clock to the renderer.
Changed: Moved the mixer processing to a separate thread in the renderer for better performance.
Fixed: Calculation of jitter is now correct with "weighted average" instead of just the diff of one frame.
Fixed: Buildup of frames in the frame queue was not possible when waiting for VSync which resulted in bad decoding performance.
Fixed: Added detection of invalid frame times to fix stuttering VC1 using the built in m2ts splitter.
Fixed: Dropping frames was not possible when Video FPS was greater than or equal to the Movie fps, which resulted in audio and video getting out of sync when seeking or just the video getting behind some frames
Fixed: Better detection of movie FPS.
Fixed: Pause the graph when the video is more than one second behind the audio to allow the video to catch up
Known issues
* Sometimes there are glitches in the VSync wait. I'm still investigating, but it seems to happen when another thread/process is locking the D3D device for an extended period. Might be partially fixable by predicting the VSync.
* Playing a video with HIGHER fps than the screen refresh could be smoother. Will implement fix for this later.

Wmcodecdsp.h is a part of which SDK i cannot find it?
Do you agree that it's not necessary to modify the parser to propose those subtypes (because it will break ffdshow compatibility), but rather to add it as input mediatype for the audio decoder?

I just spent a few hours trying all the VC-1 decoders I could find (Arcsoft, Microsoft, MPC, Sonic, ffdshow, Cyberlink, Intervideo, Mainconcept, Nero). Not one of them will play interlaced VC-1 properly and connect to the MPC Mpeg Splitter.
In fact the only one that performed well at all was Arcsoft, but it only connects to its own splitter, which doesn't support audio stream switching.
Is there any particular reason that there doesn't appear to be much interest in getting this format to work? It is out there on real BDs after all. Is it just really hard to do or is there perhaps a lack of samples (I could provide some)?
Just wondering.

Arcsoft uses some of Gabest his stuff so i'm rather surprised that it doesn't connect
but like you so far i only got Arcsoft to work with VC-1 Interlaced when inside transport streams, talked with Haali about this also but no info yet what is causing the black screen @ playback :(

Same request here. Is it possible? Or is it possible to expand the "Change fullscreen resolution" function to 1920x1080 32bpp 24hz and 50hz?
I third this option. I actually asked the same question on the VLC forum but the reply was although interested, not likely.
As MPC-HC has the option to change the resolution of the output to the monitor on beginning playback, I guess it would be a pretty straight forward task to expand this so that the resolution could be set depending on what MPC detects as the source material - probably through a user mapped option table.
My Pioneer Plasma has allows for several different resolutions. Although its native resolution of 1024x768, a resolution 1360x768 gives the correct aspect ratio and a steady picture suitable for computer graphics. However, you end up with limited picture adjustment on the TV if you feed it with this resolution. In addition, video and movies seem to look better if you feed the screen with either 1920x1080 or 1280x720 and of course, the TV has full picture adjustment available.
Being able to use MPC to automatically switch between different resolutions and refresh rates would be a very nice feature to have.

I have noticed something strange with Beliyaal's patch: some frames are skipped (it is quite obvious when the tearing bar is on) although they are not reported by the stats (I have a beautiful straight line).
Moreover further tests of the jitter that randomly appears and won't go away (mentioned in earlier posts) show that it is quite frequent in screen refresh frequency such as 72Hz and much less in 23.967/24Hz
Nvidia8600GTS/XPSP3/WMR9 Full Screen/Reclock
After further observation it seems that no frame is skipped but instead I have some tearing (VSync is lost) during a couple of frames. This may explain why no jitter is detected. It is quite a surprise since sofar I had never had tearing in VMR9 Fullscreen exclusive mode. I wonder if it is not related to the trick used to keep the menus accessible in full screen mode. Please note I dont have this issue using the standard mpc htpc builds.

Arcsoft uses some of Gabest his stuff so i'm rather surprised that it doesn't connect
but like you so far i only got Arcsoft to work with VC-1 Interlaced when inside transport streams, talked with Haali about this also but no info yet what is causing the black screen @ playback :(
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=143210
Can you play interlaced VC-1 video in mkv container? I can not - very slow frame rate (WMV decoder + MPC HC Beliyaal's version).

I didn't manage to do any updates to the renders this weekend, but I got stuck installing a PC with NVidia graphics card and XP+XPx64+Vistax64+Windows7x64 to be able to test with the configuration that seems to have most problems.
Also added some Blu-ray fixes to SVN:
Added: Support for Blu-ray clip info (language for audio and subtitles in m2ts files)
Changed: Sort MPEC audio streams according to quality. The best quality stream will be played by default.
Fixed: Strip the non-core info from DTS-HD tracks until a decoder is available. Fixes problems with SPDIFer.
Fixed: If Blu-ray clip info is available all subtitle streams will be available from the start of the clip.

Wmcodecdsp.h is a part of which SDK i cannot find it?
Do you agree that it's not necessary to modify the parser to propose those subtypes (because it will break ffdshow compatibility), but rather to add it as input mediatype for the audio decoder?
It's in the Vista SDK (v6.0).
AFAIK a DirectShow splitter can export/propose multiple media types at the same time. I'd suggest to add the official MS GUIDs as another media type alternative. Because otherwise if Microsoft adds a TrueHD decoder to Windows 7, it wouldn't work with your splitter. You know, there are already AC3, AAC and h264 decoders from Microsoft shipping with Windows 7. Maybe TrueHD decoding will be added, too? I don't really think so, but let's wait and see...
BTW, I've also posted the new GUIDs in the ffdshow thread and they've already agreed to add them to their decoders, too. Nero (Menno) is also already informed.
Edit: The latest ffdshow SVN is now updated to accept the new GUIDs.

Just to clarify, he is saying that he put some fixes for audio and subtitles in the regular development build, and then compiled his special version with that latest development build 985.
Alexins has not yet posted a build 985, so that is the only compile with the audio and subtitles changes.

Another thing to clarify is that some of this code is only run when playing from a network path (\\computer\Share\X). What I really should have done was to fix the old code to work with network paths instead I accidently reimplementing the same functionality in another place.

Now with SVN 985 the BUG from here @ Beliyaal
With your version 6 I'm "losing" sound only with DTS-HD XLL ! = Can't play DTS-HD XLL ! :helpful:
Now switching back from DTS-HD XLL to AC3 it's working after seeking !
(audio filter = ffdshow-mt 2624 icl10)
Sample (http://rapidshare.com/files/185566143/TEST.m2ts.html)
it's in the SVN = I'm losing the sound not only with Beliyaal's version BUT WITH SVN TOO

NOW MPC starts playing with the DTS-HD XLL stream (SVN 983 starts with AC3 stream) and when i'm switching to ac3 everything It's OK but when I'm switching back to DTS-HD XLL I'M LOSING THE SOUND and if I'm switching again to AC3 I have sound BUT THE VIDEO IT'S ACCELERATED = it's playing at a faster speed something like in FF
P.S. SVN 983 it's working fine:helpful:

Windows 7 add's some api options that greatly improve buffering/power consumption for Disc playback and Network streaming.

Beliyaal, if you can add your fix for the shaders problem and multiple monitors to SVN it'll be nice. In the normal build when switching between windowed and fullscreen the shaders are deactivated and then reactivated in half a second or so, which is pretty noticeable when running the levels conversion shader for example. Your code fixes this too :)

I think that the general idea is for Beliyaal to fix all the bugs in his version, and then when no one can find any further problems introduced by his version, then (and only then) he should integrate it with the main SVN code.
Until then, it would be faster and more efficient for him to work on the bugs in his version.
Of course, as a volunteer, it's up to him to choose what he will do, but the above is what makes sense to me.

The problem is already fixed and tested by several users, so I'm suggesting him to do the same as he has done to other bugs he has fixed: put them in the main trunk so people could benefit from them earlier.

Beliyaal's fixes should preferably be applied one by one, with some time between them (1 or 2 days). That would allow better testing of the individual fixes/changes.

There are software decoders for DTS-HD, do you mean that you are using one of these (like arcsoft)?

Yeah that would be best.
At the very least each fix should be submitted as a seperate revision

Good idea but since they are in SVN maybe it's better to revert one by one those which have been reported with bugs (like the DTS..)

One, but sometimes two, and there was a problem when changing the player between monitors with shaders enabled. Beliyaal fixed it, and it also fixed this on/off issue. But your fix works regardless :)
The jitter graph is still way off after the changes in rev931.
