doom9 has a "membership 5 days before posting" rule or I'd post this myself, but someone else might want to: I think I can see why HW accel might be failing on G45 in MPC-HC. Or at least part of the reason.

DXVAChecker 1.9.0 results for G45 have only one entry which mentions H.264:

ModeH264_VLD_NoFGT_CLearVideo DXVA2 NV12 720x480 1280x720 1920x1080

Which is full HW decode, but it's in the NV12 color space. The implication of

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...55#post1181155

is that NV12 is not currently supported in MPC-HC.

I think it is more like that MPC-HC do not explicitly support that mode? Why is that G45 do not have ModeH264_VLD_NoFGT like other cards from ATI or nVidia?

Feature Request: Make the Video Renderer selectable for every kind of video seperatly (e.g. use vmr9 for h264, but haali for all the rest).
Optional: Make yv12-rgb conversion not suck with vmr9 ;) (see other thread)

When using DXVA, MPC-HC is already using NV12 according to DXVAChecker and common sense, as DXVA only works with NV12. But when not using DXVA internal decoders use RGB32 by default AFAIK, and this cannot be changed. My request was to add a NV12 output option for every other MPC decoder like ffdshow has.

The problem with Intel seems to be that ClearVideo part.

I want little say about bug #2059817 - http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2059817&group_id=170561&atid=854651.

If you want to move a player from one monitor to another - HAVE TO DISABLE SHADERS !!! (this is bug on ATI and NVIDIA on any version of drivers)

cmw

Also, if you move between monitors and have any resizer activated that needs pixel shader, the video will get extremely blocky ;)

NO - with resize shader work fine moving between monitors, test on ATI and NVIDIA.

Hmm well I can reproduce the blocking with
-VMR9 renderless + any PS 2.0 resizer
-playing back material that is dxva compliant and gets dxva decoded

I haven't tried none-dxva material yet.

Now specially checked, but EVR + any PS 2.0 resizer - work FINE with any material - h264+DXVA, h264 without DXVA, Xvid

No freeze while move between monitors.

Also check with WMR9 + any PS 2.0 resizer - NO freeze, fine work.

Vista x64, mpc-hc x86 last revision.

Just a question: Will MPCHC support region free dvd play like VLC? For example, my drive's region is 2, and I want to play a region 1 dvd, and now MPCHC says Invalid disc region, but VLC plays it fine.

Not possible I think since MPC uses some Microsoft stuff for DVD playback. Just flash your drive with a region free firmware.

Ok so Intel is using a specific mode for H264 that didn't respect Microsoft specifications :-(

Could you do a test with thoses builds and tell me if one of those works (there is really few chance but who knows...) :

Tried both with the following:

All in MKV Container:

a VC-1 Blu-ray
a AVC Blu-ray
a x264 1080p encoded in L4.1 (works with HA on a 2600xt on different PC)

No HA on any of them.

I'm having couple of problems with MPC-HC (1.1.795.0). Radeon 4850, Catalyst 8.8, Clean install Vista SP1 32-bit.

1. All VC-1 .m2ts movies have blocks and is unwatchable when using FFMpeg. This has been like this always, also with my old X850XT. Problem dissappears when using Haali Media Splitter in MPC-HC.

2.
Some H.264 Blu-rays haven't been working in couple of last builds.

From Hell H.264 Sample (25 Mb) >> Download (http://www.netikka.net/enclave/From Hell.m2ts)<<

3.
When using MpegSplitter+MPCVideoDecoder in Media Center, forwarding (by pressing skip button) sometimes causes GPU drivers to restart (VC-1) or occasional blue screen of death (H.264) but only when using DXVA.

4.
When starting m2ts playback in media center movie starts in 4:3 AR, when going into windowed mode and back to full screen, it switches to 16:9.

Other than that MPC-HC works like a dream. Any chance of 1,3&4 being fixed in the future or are these problems that no one knows how to fix?

Well, for the "Transformers" sample, the splitter doesn't detect the EAC3 track. It detects the TrueHD/AC3, AC3 5.1, AC3 5.1 and AC3 2.0 only.

I got a little bug with DVDs, don't recall this ever happening before so must a bug in latest mpc-hc builds:

Sometimes when going from fullscreen or maximized back to normal window causes the dvd to pause and jump forward a few frames, or sometimes to the next chapter. It's kinda annoying.

I'm Using Microsoft Mpeg-2 Decoder (vista home premium x64) with EVR (not custom pres) and DVD Navigator.

Would be nice if this was fixed :)

I need some help with the 64-bit standalone Mpeg splitter ! :helpful:

I CAN'T play any ts file (mpeg-2, VC-1, H264,...) with WMP 64-bit (or WMC 64-bit) with the standalone Mpeg splitter 64-bit but with MPC-HC 64-bit (NO internal filters, not even with low merit) + standalone Mpeg splitter 64-bit I CAN play the same files !

The strangest thing it's happening with GraphEdit_x64 :

If I'm trying to "OPEN" the ts file GraphEdit_x64 its saying Could not construct a graph from this file.
-Have you installed all necesary filters ?
...... BUT if I manually add the standalone Mpeg splitter 64-bit and all the other filters GraphEdit_x64 it's playing the ts file without any problem

Do I need to increase the merit for the standalone Mpeg splitter 64-bit ? How ? (i'm talking about the 64-bit filter's merit here NOT the 32-bit )

PLEASE HELP !:helpful::thanks::stupid:

EDIT : SOLVED ! Haali Media Splitter crippled my system AGAIN ! In a moment of lack of judgement :stupid: I've installed Haali Media Splitter so I can play some ogm and mkv (with two audio stream wich MPC's splitters CAN'T play "correctly" ) and again I've got screwed by it because it takes over  the TS m2ts ogg ogm mkv mp4 file types and when I'm using Vista MCE 64-bit or WMP 64-bit they CAN'T use Haali Media Splitter (being a 32-bit filter ) SO... Hmmm... is there a problem with MpegSplitter?

Media Center TV Pack 2008 comes with really nice decoders for audio & video. The problem is that Mpegsplitter doesn't connect to Microsoft DTV/DVD Audio Decoder in MPC-HC when there is DTS audio, with AC3 it connects fine. With Haali Media Splitter both AC3 and DTS connects fine into Microsoft DTV/DVD Audio Decoder.

So is there something wrong in splitter like missing guid that Microsoft DTV/DVD Audio Decoder needs?

This is what DSFMgr shows.

There is a problem with "VMR9 Mixer Mode" and "Internal Mpeg2 Decoder".

With VMR9 (Renderless) + VMR9 Mixer Mode there is black screen.

Only VMR9 goes well.

Moreover this situation appears only on Mpeg2 Internal decoder. With any external decoder + VMR9 Mixer no problem.

Just a little problem, but better to solve everything :)

Btw, how much would it require an extra work to allow MPC-HC read dvd image files (.iso etc) directly like vlc does?

Is it possible to add ASIO support to Media Player Classic?

Having recently being educated to the benefits of ASIO (in a quest to get half decent sound out of my notebook), I've found the only video player that supports ASIO is Winamp. I really dislike Winamp as a video player... for one thing, you can't select video renderer.

Has ASIO support been looked into at some point before? Or is it considered too tricky to implement? (The fact that Winamp and foobar are the only significant media players to have ASIO support is telling).

I've found a bug with MPC-HC resizer.

My output settings:

Hi,

Is it possible to make the MPC Video Decoder play H264 files with a {8D2D71CB-243F-45E3-B2D8-5FD7967EC09B} GUID ?
This GUID is used by the MediaPortal tsReader for HD-H.264 tv channels and currently I can't use the MPC standalone filter for that.

Thanks

If it didn't works, can you check Major type used by Media Portal (is it MEDIATYPE_Video or MEDIATYPE_MPEG2_PES ?)

Returned 2600 XT got HD4670

This baby plus MPC-HC with Cyberlink H.264/PVD8 plays everything accelarated even such weird resolutions like
1200x672 1344x1072 992x480

Thank you team.

Specs.
Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon 3200+
2 GB RAM
ATI 3850 AGP
SPDIF to reciever.

Ok, well after frustrating myself to the limit trying to get DXVA working.
I tried just about everything I could think of. Then tried KMplayer/powerdvd. Sure it enabled DXVA, but with a black screen and still 100% cpu.

UNTIL NOW.

I just installed the ATI hot fix AGP drivers for Catalyst 8.8 from the ATI site.
http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=31625
I removed ALL codec packs.
I installed mpc-homecinema.1.1.795.0.zip
I made everything Internal codecs
I set Playback Output in MPHC to Overlay Mixer and selected Directx 9 for Real Media and Quicktime.
I enabled Interal Audio Filters for everything and selected SPDIF out for my setup.

DXVA works flawlessly and even plays my Divx and MPEG using hardware.
1080p is at full resolution playback with full DTS decode from mkv file with no more than 4% CPU usage.
720p 3% CPU
Divx same
MPEG same

I didn't even know DXVA supported these files, but it's working! full speed, I can even do a virus scan in the background while playing 1080p!!:)

Need help!
I can't get dxva working on 1080p with MPC-HC svn 796. MPC-HC shows "not using dxva" with VMR7/9 and freezes with Overlay Mixer, but it works fine on 720p files.

XP SP3, GF 8500GT (177.92)

Tested samples are Get Smart mp4 trailer and Big Buck Bunny 1080p mov downloaded from official websites.
