Hi,
I'm pretty sure...
sample (http://www.mediafire.com/?eogjwgwzi1n)...
thx for the sample, Kurtnoise, an indeed, this one plays fine with the internal splitter.
Here is my sample, which does not work:
sample (http://rapidshare.com/files/216688904/Sample001.mkv.html)
The only difference I can find at a first look is the AR, which is 4/3 in Kurtnoise's sample, while it is 16/9 in my sample.

AC3Filter lets me analyze it thanks. I can see decoding in ffdshow is perfect, all channels getting content. With mpc-hc decoder front right is mostly mute, sometimes moves up slightly. Below is a screenshot of a particularly active scene, no output on front right at all.
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/2121/truehdproblem.th.jpg (http://img7.imageshack.us/my.php?image=truehdproblem.jpg)Sounds from the posts of both of you like the LFE and Right channels may be swapped. Unless you captured that screenshot in the middle of a big explosion it is unusual to see the LFE channel so high and the behaviour of your FR channel is exactly how LFE normally looks.

that's strange...but all I can say it's that if you remux the video only and play back this mkv remuxed, that works. Problem occurs when you add ac3 streams.

I can't compile "libavcodec_gcc.lib".
I installed mingw+msys.
I just configured in "src\filters\transform\mpcvideodec\ffmpeg".
but, message viewed "No such file or directory".
How can I do this? just use a ffmpeg svn?

It actually was during a very loud explosive scene. I will investigate later in a less bassy scene.

i see you don't use a bass management ? I think i have a sound because i use bass management. Finaly it's not the LFE in Front R but my bass management.
If i cut bass management i think i wouldn't have no sound in Front R.

No I never do anything to alter the sound. It just passes straight through. True HD is the only source that does this messing with FR, and only in mpc-hc. Can anyone else that maybe "thinks" True Hd is working ok for them, hook up something like ac3filter to see what output is coming from each channel. I hope someone can look into this.

I found a bug in the h.264 dxva decoder.
Playback freezes with a specific file using mpc h.264 dxva decoder but with Microsoft h264 decoder from Windows 7 build 7057 x86 it plays fine using dxva.
File has 16 reference frames but that's no problem to NVIDIA GPU's.
Vista x86 SP2 v.275 / 9800GTX 185.65 / DirectX March / MPC-HC rev1032 or Beliyaal patch 22 on rev1024.

Bass management? Is that something done through custom channel mapping? The only bass management I have (that I know of) is a sub-woofer volume knob on the speaker itself.

i had wrong, the cause isn't the bass management, the channel Front Right and LFE are inversed with dolby true HD track. I think it have a mistake during the compil of MPC. using channel mapping of totozero with Dolby true HD track, with other track disable Mixer.
alexins need fixed this bug.
wolf2009, the channel mapping i posted it's just a test for mark007, but now you knew the problem with dolby true HD.

I am not sure what exactly is going on with MPC subtitles, but I will try to explain. Same thing happened with normal MPC.
BSPlayer PRO:
If you set size 40 for the subtitles, it will display the same size in both display methods: watching the video in fullscreen and with any window size (not fullscreen). I am also using those options here (all enabled):
Use 'shadow' effect for subtitles
Use outline font
Use anti-aliased font
Transparent background
Auto-load any subtitles in current directory
Auto-split lines that are too long
Ignore margins for primary display
Maximum subtitle display time (msec) = 1500
Subtitle margins width - 10%
Subtitle margins bottom - 10%
Default subtitle - 1
Font smoothing = 30
Enable VobSub Support
Load subtitles into memory
Subtitle resizing: 100%Now, all options that are DISABLED in BSP:
- Subtitles disabled
- Draw subtitles to Overlay surface
- Use Subtitle Mixer for subtitles in OGG files
- Auto resize font if line is too long
- Resize OSD and subtitle font automaticallyPlus, I am using those settings:
Internal renderer overlay/default
VMR-9 renderless, renderind mode = Mode 1
Now, back to MPC-HC. If I attempt to display a subtitle with a size 40, it will be 2-3 times larger than the BSP one. So the sizes are not matching. If you watch the MPC video using a small window, the subtitle will look smaller. If you watch on fullscreen, it will look like a size 80 instead of 40. If you know what I mean.
And not only that. While I was using BSP, I was able to do two things that in terms of subtitles, are important to me.
First, by pressing shift + UP or DOWN, I was able to adjust the subtitle's position in the screen. And I can do that WHILE THE VIDEO IS RUNNING.
The second and last thing was the ability to delay the subtitle a little bit to achieve a better sync by pressing CONTROL + LEFT or RIGHT. From my personal experience, a simple control + left will adjust 90% of translated subtitles from DiVx files that I receive on a daily-basis.
They need to be corrected less than a second. And by pressing a single combination everytime the video starts, I can do that. Maybe pressing twice sometimes, you never know. That method always worked for me, since I can adjust the subtitle sync (if the rest is not messed) in real time.
Both functions are enabled on MPC/HC? And what is wrong with the rest?

The internal MPEG4 ASP decoder does not work correctly for MKVs with native V_MPEG4/ISO/ASP for me. The video is jerky. Tried both Haali's and the internal splitter. Ffdshow does no exhibit this problem.
Here's a sample:
http://home.pages.at/bond_/matroska_native-mp4.7z
Might be the reason for the issue I just found, testing which video my mobile phone supports:
MPC-HC has issues with MP4 files and derived 3GPP2 files containing MPEG4 ASP video created using MeGUI and xvid_encraw 1.2.1, as well as an AAC audio stream.
The following prerequisites apply:
ColorBars.avs
ColorBars(176,128,"YV12")
Info()
Trim(0,1000)
http://www.ligh.de/pics/MeGUI_ASP+AAC_Input.png
http://www.ligh.de/pics/MeGUI_ASP+AAC_AutoEnc.png
ColorBars.ASP-AAC.mp4 (http://www.ligh.de/test/ColorBars.ASP-AAC.mp4) (356 KB)
MPC-HC 1.2.908.0 cannot find any video stream, plays audio only.
Windows Media Player 6.4 (mplayer2.exe) - respectively Haali Media Splitter - cannot find any video stream, plays audio only.
VLC 0.9.8a (Grishenko) plays correctly.
MediaInfo 0.7.13 detects the whole structure.
ffmpeg.exe -f 3g2 -vcodec copy -acodec copy -i ColorBars.ASP-AAC.mp4 ColorBars.ASP-AAC.3g2
ColorBars.ASP-AAC.3g2 (http://www.ligh.de/test/ColorBars.ASP-AAC.3g2) (361 KB)
MPC-HC 1.2.908.0 plays only I-frames, video is flakey like a few B-frames get applied sometimes.
Windows Media Player 6.4 (mplayer2.exe) plays it correctly.
VLC 0.9.8a (Grishenko) plays it correctly.
MediaInfo 0.7.13 detects the whole structure.
__
P.S.:
Appears to be fixed in the SVN 1038 build above.
__
P.P.S.:
Not fixed - more complex material shows color distortions playing the 3G2 file (any motion turning to green), and an undetected video stream playing the MP4 file.
And furthermore: Why am I not able to disable the MPC-HC internal decoders?
Ah, no - 3G2 files are passed to QuickTime. The internal MPEG4 decoder and ffdshow decode it correctly. But Haali Media Splitter does not detect the video stream reliably.

am I daydreaming or there used to be an option in MPC to force the number of channels of the Intervideo Audio Decoder...or maybe it was KMP or ZP
doing the same w/ the Arcsoft Audio Decoder would be really awesome, because it defaults to stereo each time you open a new file...and that's like one of the only(if not the only?) DTS decoder that does 24/96 in a DS graph :o
eac3to specifies 5.1 when it decodes, so it's only a matter of providing the proper argument when adding the filter in the DS graph I think?
I guess someday you will provide full support for BD playback, but how good would that be in stereo..
