tetsuo, I can't find this bug relating to the internal switcher. Searching for switcher and "postponed" which its status was set to doesn't get me it. If you can find it let me know and I will update (again :P ).
I updated anotber DTS-MA bug of mine
DTS-HD MA Missing Center Channel - ID: 2792649
Updated with a range of builds this starts at.
EDIT: Just to note, I setup a new Windows 7RC machine lastnight and was again surprised at the amount of steps needed to get good quality dvd playback and surround sound playback. I think we need to talk about changing default settings for the mpeg2 decoder again, relating to de-interlacing defaults.

Dolby TrueHD it's BROKEN with internal filters ( with external filters it's OK Tested with FFD)!
Last working version it's 1106 and first that it's NOT working 1111
I haven't tested any other version between those two :)
Edit:
And can someone revert or fix "THE FIX" from rev 984 which have broken the DTS-HD Master (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2790167&group_id=170561&atid=854651) It's such an old bug and also the last important AUDIO bug AFAIK so everybody can concentrate on the VIDEO part :thanks:
Revision 984 - Directory Listing
Modified Sun Jan 25 20:01:24 2009 UTC (3 months, 3 weeks ago) by beliyaal
Added: Support for Blu-ray clip info (language for audio and subtitles in m2ts files)
Changed: Sort MPEC audio streams according to quality. The best quality stream will be played by default.
Fixed: Strip the non-core info from DTS-HD tracks until a decoder is available. Fixes problems with SPDIFer.
Fixed: If Blu-ray clip info is available all subtitle streams will be available from the start of the clip.

I confirm, with the latest build TrueHD is mute and DTS-HD Master Audio has channels missing (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2792649&group_id=170561&atid=854651) in m2ts since between build 1044 and 1050. Strangely my sample plays in build 984 which mercury has problems with, so both samples need to be looked at, mine for the lack of channels, and mercury's for the lack of any dts-hd ma at all.
Casimir, a few more typos in MpegSplitter.cpp that you might be able to look into or change.
"DTS HD" should be "DTS-HD High Resolution Audio" (all fall under DTS-HD but the words aftwards explains what it is, eg High Resolution Audio or Master Audio etc) http://www.dts.com/Technology/DTS-HD_High_Resolution_Audio.aspx
"Dolby Digital+" should be "Dolby Digital Plus" or (DD+ or E-AC-3) http://www.dolby.com/consumer/technology/tech_overview.html

As i've said in the bug report (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2790167&group_id=170561&atid=854651) I can't play any DTS-HD Master stream inside a m2ts or ts (mpg, mkv, avi...
not tested) EXCEPT if it's the only or first audio stream.
And your sample it's too short (and starts with DTS-HD Master stream) to be able to test BUT PLEASE can you test my bug on your full m2ts file (change to Dolby stream then back to DTS-HD Master )
:thanks:
P.S. Be careful cause the streams are NOT changing immediately you have to wait a few seconds

Yeah your sample gives nothing but hiss when I select DTS-HD MA stream. Apologies, I forgot your problem only happens if it's not the only or not the first audio stream.
My problem / bug report is when DTS-HD MA does work, (its the first audio stream of many), then some channels are missing.
Yes I confirm with my full file, changing to Dolby stream then back to DTS-HD MA gives no sound. I have never seen this until now. Its a complete mess :P. In summary (correct me if my summaries of your bugs are wrong)
TrueHD
Problem: No audio, mute.
Version Info: Broken somewhere between build 1106 and 1111
DTS-HD Master Audio
Problem: For me this bug represents the problem when switching from Dolby to DTS track causes hissing or no sound at all.

about this bug : it is really when the shaders resize from 624*352 to 1680*1050 (in reality 1680*944 or 946 I suppose).
if someone have a screen with a similar resolution you can test with a tv episode, or I can provide a sample.
any video resized to 624*352 will do the job.
changing
double dx = 1.0f/w;
double dy = 1.0f/h;
into
double dx = 0.999f/w;
double dy = 0.999f/h;
in TextureResizeBicubic1pass seems to fix the problem... at least for this resolution.
I don't understand a single line in those resizer functions, but could it be some float/double precision problem ?
EDIT : does someone know what is the difference between bicubic 1pass and bicubic 2pass ?
perhaps madshi can help on this one ?

I'm not really good at c++ but i think i may have found the problem.
I had the same problem (but i noticed it normal dts tracks), did exactly the same tests so i looked at the changes between 104* to 1050:
http://mpc-hc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mpc-hc/trunk/src/filters/transform/mpadecfilter/MpaDecFilter.cpp?limit_changes=0&r1=1041&r2=1048&pathrev=1048
MpaDecFilter.cpp line 217:
before:
{6, {1, 2, 0, 5, 3, 4,-1,-1}, SPEAKER_FRONT_LEFT|SPEAKER_FRONT_RIGHT|SPEAKER_FRONT_CENTER|SPEAKER_LOW_FREQUENCY|SPEAKER_BACK_LEFT|SPEAKER_BACK_RIGHT}, // DTS_3F2R|DTS_LFE
after:
{6, {1, 2, 5, 0, 3, 4,-1,-1}, SPEAKER_FRONT_LEFT|SPEAKER_FRONT_RIGHT|SPEAKER_FRONT_CENTER|SPEAKER_LOW_FREQUENCY|SPEAKER_BACK_LEFT|SPEAKER_BACK_RIGHT}, // DTS_3F2R|DTS_LFE
LFE and Center channel have been swapped!
So i tried to test if my theory is right and changed the channel mapping like this:
http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/3871/channelmapping.jpg
-> center channel works for me with dts/dtsma tracks
could someone confirm this?

Updated my most annoying bug, the vc-1 software crashes which show repeated frames. I have reproduced this bug with planet earth blu-ray which doesn't contain HDMV audio stream so a change with vc-1 software decoder between build 959 and build 967 is causing this.
Was trying to show off HTPC today to a neighbour and when I seeked to the middle of the scene, I got the crash and repeated dirty frame again.... Anyone using vc-1 software decoder seen this or know in detail what changes between 959 and 967 could cause this?
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2793531&group_id=170561&atid=854651
I cannot provide a sample because I cannot reproduce bug with any samples I make. Even remuxing the 7.41gb planet earth disk 1 episode 1 file with no changes, I cannot reproduce bug in the remuxed file. Maybe tsMuxer is removing / fixing something that is causing the problem. Are there any other alternatives to tsMuxer, or a program that will let me view detailed info about different m2ts files. There is something different about the movie 300 and this planet earth disk that makes this bug happen as it doesn't happen with any other vc-1 in m2ts content I have.

what happens if you use the ffdshow libavcodec on the same samples
mark0077
20th May 2009, 23:02
Yeah I never ever ever get a crash with the libavcodec vc-1 decoder, I think I said that in the bug reports. You guys that want to test it might want to disable DXVA as I am using pure software decoding. But that bug is the most annoying and strangely can't reproduce when i remux to an almost identical filesize. Remuxing both problem blu-ray files, the remuxed file don't show the problem.
The entire 7.41gb planet earth file remuxed with tsMuxer gives me a file of 7.40 which doesn't show the problem. I wonder what changed from one to the other as this is likely to reveal what is triggering it, but in any case I haev tracked down the range of builds it started in, somewhere between build 959 and 967.
If anyone has any hints on how to make a sample that could retain details that tsMuxer seems to get rid of let me know. Otherwise, try 300 or planet earth blu-ray and use software vc-1 decoder and seek around for a few seconds and the bug will popup.
As always, I feel if I can get a small sample to upload which shows the problem, developers will reproduce and find the solution. As of now I havn't been able to make a sample which can reproduce the problem. I don't fancy uploading 7.41gb :P

I haven't found any other way to get the time. The DVD-navigator doesn't seem to report it any other way. The sample times just continues forward whenever you navigate in the DVD.
The only place where correct time is reported is when asking the DVD navigator for the position, and it changes only once every 0.5 seconds.

Also, it's very strange that you said that it's not very good because with vmr9renderless there isn't any problem. Or, you said that now under evr-custom it works like with vmr9renderless.
Moreover it works with vobsub to display subrtitles instead of mpc-HC. Then, it must be possible to correct this problem even if it's very difficult.

I have submitted changes in SVN 1117 that should make all resizers correct without the 0.98 (0.999) hack. Basically all fractions are now derived from the same place in the pixel shader with all texture sampling right square in the middle of all video texture pixels instead of relying on the texture coordinates to be interpolated and interpreted the same as when sampling the texture.

Guys, just trying to get all my little problems with mpc-hc down as bugs. I am not sure about this one, as I am using pure software decoding (because I can never get DXVA working with GTX 295 in mpc-hc), I am concerned about the "decoding thread number" in ffmpeg settings.
When i initially install mpc-hc its set on " ", ie blank. I have a core i7 with hyperthreading on so windows sees it as 8 cores. This leads me to ask two questions
1) Why is it set initially on " ". If this is some sort of auto setting, could the gui for this setting actually include an option called "Auto" or "Max" instead of "".
2) Why does it only go up as far as 6 and not 8 in my case.
Another vc-1 software bug reported
Just posted another vc-1 software decoder bug as the following big buck bunny clip shows nothing but corruption and garbled colors when playing with vc-1 software decoder.

A couple of questions:
- Are there still unfixed bugs introduced by the merger with the Beliyaal version ?
- Are there any major unfixed bugs that are not related to either DXVA or internal splitters or decoders ?
Thanks !

1) Why is it set initially on " ". If this is some sort of auto setting, could the gui for this setting actually include an option called "Auto" or "Max" instead of "".
2) Why does it only go up as far as 6 and not 8 in my case.
1) Sounds like a bug to me. It either should default to 1, or use some kind of auto-detection to set the correct value.
2) Seems like an arbitrarily chosen maximum.
The FFmpeg decoders do not have much multi-threading capabilities, so setting more than 4 threads would probably be pointless. The VC-1 decoder is single-threaded. The H.264 decoder can only decode CABAC and slices with multiple threads.

Is DXVA fully supported on the Intel G45 chipset now, or are there still some issues?
H.264 in AVI container does not always play correctly with the DXVA decoder. I have seen many people that have run into this problem. I suggest the following quick fix until a proper solution is implemented:
In the DXVA decision making algorithm, query the source filter for the name of the playing file and check if it has the .avi file extension. If so, don't activate DXVA.

Some suggestions for the Options dialog:
1) Add new subpage: Player -> History
2) Move the following options to the history page:
- "Keep history of recently opened files"
- "Remember DVD position"
- "Remember file position"
3) Move "Show OSD" option to "Player' page.
4) Remove the now empty "Video" pane from "Miscellaneous" page.

I have submitted a fix for this now. It now works as well as VMR9 in EVR. That is to say, not very good.
The subtitle time only updates every 0.5 seconds and it's out of sync, probably because the DVD time is for how much has been demuxed and not what has actually been displayed.
Good morning,
Thank you for the fix. With EVR custom, now it works like VMR9.
The problem is that with vmr9 it doesn't work as well as before. With 1.2.972 the subtitle are well displayed and are sync with sound. With 1117 some subtitles are displayed and disappeared before the right time. Although the sync still exists. But the display of the subtitles is shorter than with mpc homecinema 972 and it's more hard to read them.

Still has issues with multi-slice content (H.264 from Blu-rays mostly).

@ Clsid, ADude:
All regressions i was aware of have been fixed. Playback is improved a lot for me.

I just ran some tests with 1117
*external subtitles work as advertised with DVD's in EVR (but too anoying to actually use with the time desync)
*MadVR crashes with some dvd's but works fine with otherswhen using th einternal mpeg2 decoder, always shows the macrovision error when using ffdshow though
*The framerate is stuck at 25fps when playing a DVD(opening the video_ts.ifo) using FFdshow, however the framerate is displayed correctly when played from the .vob
*The framerate is not displayed when playing a DVD(opening the video_ts.ifo) using the internal MPEG2 decoder, however the framerate is displayed correctly when played from the .vob
*All the internal decoders seem to default to YUY2 (Is this intended behaviour?)

I tried with VMR9 in 972 and it has exactly the same behavior with regards to subtitles as the newest version.

@ Clsid, ADude:
*The framerate is stuck at 25fps always for video when playing back DVD content from the ifo file, however the framerate is correct when played from the .vob file when using FFdshow as the dvd decoder
*The framerate is not displayed when using the internal MPEG2 decoder
I cant't reproduce these.

I cant't reproduce these.
I rewrote my post to make the bugs a little more clear, i hope you can reproduce with the extra info.
I am using FFdshow 2954
Settings:
EVR-CP(but i can reproduce with any renderer)
FFDshow(all set to libavcodec but it happens with libmpg2 too)
(1115-1117)
Fixed: DVD navigation in EVR CustomDVD menu navigation still does not work in r1117 for me. The menu highlights don't appear under my mouse, and left-clicking on buttons doesn't do anything.
Happens in both EVR and EVR-CP. All other renderers work fine.
